We were dealing with a horrible AC situation during a heat wave when temperatures were over 100 degrees, and we desperately needed help. I messaged Alex at 7:00 a.m., and I was honestly amazed when he showed up just an hour later, between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. He was extremely cordial, kind, professional, and consistent throughout the entire process. The diagnostic was only $50, and Alex explained that the diagnostic fee would go toward the eventual repair. I really appreciated that because everything was explained upfront no surprises, no pressure, and no games. He was completely transparent about what was going on with our AC system, what needed to be done, and the finances involved. He even worked with us to help make the repair financially manageable. If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. About ten years ago, Mr. Hawley replaced the air conditioning system at our condo and did a fantastic job. This summer, the roughly 30-year-old system at our current house finally gave out. Despite it being the middle of summer, Mr. Hawley squeezed us into the schedule in less than a week and gave us a very good deal on a new Daikin heat pump system. He spent a great deal of time explaining the differences between a heat pump and a traditional HVAC system, answering my questions, and helping me understand why it made sense for our house. I really appreciated being educated rather than simply sold a piece of equipment. Hawley is also one of the companies in Bakersfield with the expertise to install and properly configure these kinds of heat pump systems. The team did a fantastic job completely retrofitting our system, and the difference inside the house is remarkable. The temperature is much more consistent and comfortable, the system is highly efficient, and ours also includes an ionizing air-cleaning system that helps remove particles from the air. He quoted us the same exact unit, same warranty...apples to apples quote for thousands less than other company. He also could install the unit with in a week. Of course we went with him! Third time it recently failed the second time they came down it was like pulling teeth for them to come fix their rigged repairs. Had to call several times. Kept flaking on the days they scheduled us. This third time their replacement part failed We called another company to come and look at it. The tech showed us what was rigged to replace the parts they said they replaced. They cut off certain components to make things "function". When you pay for service you expect to have the job done right not have things rigged to "make things work". Have some integrity Central California Air......
