We love grabbing pizzas and antipasto from Valone's whenever we're visiting the lake shore area. The fresh dough pizzas are incredible, and easily some of the best pizza that I've had in the area. In my 59 years on this earth, I've lived from Tampa to Grand Island NY. I've eaten more pizza than I care to admit. However, some of those pies were bad, some were average and some were outstanding. Tonight, my brother-in-law ordered pepperoni pizzas from Valone's here in North East PA. In my 59 years on this earth, this is the WORST pizza I have ever tried to eat. The crust is obviously pre-made, bought frozen or refrigerated, whatever. It is bland, bread-like texture and just plain awful. But this is only the beginning. The sauce is almost non-existent; which given how bland it is, is a blessing in disguise. The cheese layer is so thin it is hard to distinguish from the crust it allegedly covers. The pepperoni is equally disappointing, being barely cooked, as was the entire pizza. Honestly, this pizza tasted reheated, not made fresh. What a waste of money. I took one bite and offered my slice to a teenager who will eat anything. Frozen pizza is better than this. Most any frozen pizza. How this place stays in business is beyond me if this is how they consistently prepare their product. But then again, the surrounding area could have dead taste buds or too tired to drive a few miles to get a decent pizza. One star because I couldn't give zero. read more

First time buying Valone's and I don't know why I waited so long. The sweet Sicilian wings were delicious. (They described it as a sweet butter taste with a hint of garlic). We stopped here for a quick sandwich while driving by on I-90. Due to the lack of reviews, I had no idea what to expect. The aging building is part mini-mart, part sandwich-pizza place with a seating area that you might miss if you've never been there before. The sandwiches are quite good. The sub bread seems like it's been delivered from somewhere specific (as in, not from a basic bag). The ingredients are pretty standard (Subway/Quizno's). Definitely get the toasted option, even though it takes a little longer--it brings the whole sandwich up one notch. Local regulars, who were all addressed by name, streamed in and out to pick up phoned-in take-out orders. The two employees were very polite and friendly. Great pizza! Wings are baked,not deep fried so they are a little different than most wing joints . They have quite a few different wing sauces to choose from. I recommend the honey mustard and the hot raspberry. still very good. They also make great subs. Plus if you need to do a little grocery shopping you can do that when you pick up your order.
