The show was in the back room which was brightly lit, laid out with about 20 lightweight wooden fold-up chairs but no tables (so ok to hold a drink in your hand but you wouldn't be able to eat a meal back here). There was a physical bar in the room but no drinks or staff. There's also a unisex restroom in here. The rest of the bar is low lighting, but clean and had a few tables in addition to the bar seating to enjoy a meal. Service was great and they had a handful of good beers on tap.

Due to the pandemic, I did everything over the internet. The gentleman I dealt with was only concerned with helping me get exactly what I wanted. With incredible patience he provided me with specific information, checked inventories and made suggestions. After I made my final decisions, he explained all of the options available for assembly and delivery. The day after I made my decisions I physically went into the the store to pay for my selections. All of the paperwork needed was prepared and waiting at the front desk. This entire process was fast, easy and a perfect example of stellar customer service. I will definitely be going back here many, many times.

However I have found myself here twice in the past week. The first time was to try to find pruners that can be used standing. While we were not able to find those, sadly, the owner (I think) and his employee went out of their way to see how they could help me. Then, a few days later, I find myself on a mission to find a certain kind of plant food. I had already checked at Home Depot while buying bird seed, but they had not had it come in for over a year and were not sure when it was coming in. I called Walmart, Loews, and two garden stores in the area too. They did not have any in stock either. On a whim I stopped in here again, asked the employee if they had it, he took me to the aisle and there it was!! I scooped up the two boxes they had. This store looks small from the outside, but it is quite large once inside. It is next to and connected to the Schuele Paint Store, more or else on the corner of Summer and Main. Rather than travel to the suburbs, I will go here first now, they are helpful, pleasant, local and easy to get to.

This place has been great until I wanted to order wallpaper for my accent wall. The front desk girl…read moredidn't want to do it, said she would "have to look up how to do it" because she hasn't done it in over a year because "people don't do wallpaper anymore"...she found the wallpaper ordering instructions and fiddled with it for a bit with a heavy sigh, then she told me I should just order through the Painting company that I recently hired as I could get it cheaper through them. I found out that was not the case, and my Painting company directed me to a different Sherwin-Williams that took care of me over the phone in a heartbeat. Call Dan at the Williamsville store, he will treat you right! And the did. I wanted to support my local East Aurora store but honestly I don't like supporting lazy workers and the painting folks confirmed they don't like EA store either. Lost my business, lost my respect as well. Lesson learned.

Vidler's is the largest five and dime store in the USA, and its historic wooden floors and vintage…read moredisplays are a huge draw for tourists as well as the faithful locals who call East Aurora "home". Alongside peppermint sticks, lollipops burnt candied peanuts and cow-tails in the penny candy shop, you can get a bag of popcorn from the antique popcorn machine! For the price of one thin dime, you will be transported to the Victoria era where ladies dressed and fancy hats and gloves when they shopped. And while you were waiting for your popcorn, do take a ride on Sandi the mechanical horse. Of course that's also a dime!
