My sales lady who i originally gave 5 stars advised me to buy the extra warranty incase the recliners fail after original warranty runs out. SCAM .. Stay away unless you have stick people living in your house you might be fine. No matter what you say they will deni your claim. Our nightmare began on July 2nd, when we purchased a dresser, bedside tables, and a sofa. While applying for their credit option, we were told a soft check would be done--but the salesperson ran a hard credit check without our consent. Strike one. Despite that, we proceeded--because we were moving to a new apartment and had our delivery scheduled for July 15th. While on vacation, I got a message from the rep saying delivery was now delayed to July 29 or later. No formal apology. No proactive communication. Just "oops, delayed." We returned to the store and selected a replacement bed set--only because they promised it would arrive by July 23rd. That promise? Broken too. On July 21st, we were informed that even this set would now arrive on July 29th (not confirmed, by the way). Then comes the final insult: Today, July 23rd, our sofa arrives... in the wrong color. We ordered olive green, received beige. Manager's response? "We'll swap it--on August 5th." Are you kidding? We're now stuck paying additional rent at our current apartment because our move is stalled and our furniture is missing or wrong. I gave Value City Furniture a 5 star review because of their employee Teoni Cunningham. She was instrumental in us receiving our furniture after so many delays. She even went as far as to giving me her cell phone number when I needed an update on our order. We would even talk on her days off. Initially the process was less than perfect but Teoni made sure VCF took care of us in the end. Due to so many errors and mix ups I don't believe we will ever order furniture again from VCF. I wish I had read Brian S review before I made a 2000 plus purchase. I specifically asked the sales person ,Dorian about the max weight. He assured me that this furniture was sturdy and would hold. He took the cushion off and jumped up and down and said the bottom was trampoline. I told him the cushion and the base are different. He assured me that the cushions held their form. I kept confirming about the weight because he said their furniture was different. I know furniture has a max weight, but If he said it was different ,why would I dispute him. I ordered a table in May of this year and it was not in stock. I ordered it and was provided a delivery date of august 11. August came, they called pushed the date back to September. September came and i received a call this past Sunday stating they would call me Monday to confirm. I received a call Monday to confirm Wednesday 9/27 delivery between 9-12:30. I confirm and then 4 hours later receive another call stating that my table is not in and they need to push the date to October. I'm done, they've lost my trust and I've requested my money back. I am so disappointed in the delivery of my order. I was told that I would receive my order 9 days after I ordered it, which would have been Tuesday Jan 28, 2025. I was then called about 2 days later and told that my chairs were back ordered and my order would be delivered on Saturday Feb 1. When Saturday came, the delivery people called me when they were 5 minutes away to say that they only had 2 of my 3 pieces to my sectional, and asked if I wanted to reschedule my delivery. I had not been contacted by the store to tell me this, and I did not want to reschedule this delivery because at this rate, I was afraid my furniture that they did have would be lost. Ordered a bed/boxspring set for myself and my son including mattress protectors with vcf online. The drivers were on time. They didn't have my mattress protector which they didn't seem to know until they were searching for it. The worse was the fact that they had my sons mattress but no boxspring and one of the guys tried to convince me that they were both together in the box that the mattress was in. Called the company and they could not explain to me how a mattress/boxspring set comes without the boxspring. They even tried blaming the online company which once I spoke to them they then had to call the company to get some answers which all they could say is that it would be 7 days before the boxspring could be delivered. I had to change my star rating from 4-stars to 2-stars due to what I experienced after buying my new furniture upon delivery. I didn't take delivery immediately because I wasn't moved into my new home at the time of buying the furniture. When I was ready for delivery, I telephoned VCF to make arrangements for delivery. They deliver to my area on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Upon delivery, the driver immediately said to me before even unloading one piece of furniture, "We have a sofa, chair, 2 nightstands, a dresser, and 2 headboards with footboards, but no side rails." I said, "What are side rails?" He said, "They normally go with the beds." I told him that I ordered 2 complete beds, not piecemeal beds. He indicated that he only delivers what is in the truck; he doesn't load the truck. I told him that I would show him on my iPad what I ordered. I showed him the picture and he pointed to the side rails that connect the headboard to the footboard. He asked for my receipt, which I provided. He pointed to the line item for the beds and showed me HB/FB without an entry for rails. He said that I would need to call Customer Care to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, he called his supervisor. I called the salesman directly and told him to lookup my account. He said that he couldn't because the general manager was already looking at the account. I reminded him of my purchase and told him that I bought 2 complete beds, not parts of beds. He indicated that the beds should include the side rails. He placed me on hold and went to the general manager's office. After a long hold, I was disconnected. I called back and was put on hold immediately. He finally returned to the call and told me that the beds were sold at a substantially lower price than what the real price was; that there was a glitch in the computer during my sale. I told him, "Too bad. I'm not paying anything else. Your computer is your problem not mine." I told him that I wanted my side rails, that the beds were useless to me without the rails. It took them 2 weeks to deliver the rails. While assembling the beds, I noticed on one of the rails there was damage. The delivery guy assembled it like nothing was wrong, until I pointed it out. He told me that he I would have to take a picture of the damage, which I did immediately with my iPhone. He said that I would have to call for an even exchange. The story only gets worse. After another 2 weeks, they send out replacement rails, but the delivery men are unable to disassemble the existing assembled rails indicating that they don't have the replacement brackets which are sent with headboards. Again, I have to call and explain the problem because none of the delivery men explained the problems to their service department. Another crew comes after another 2 weeks with a headboard. The previous side rails were left in a huge box in the middle of my office for 2 weeks. After they try to disassemble the footboard, they realize that they cannot remove the bracket. So they leave the bracket in place and take the rail to the truck and get the new brackets from the headboard box. They were gone so long that I thought they left. One guy comes back in and tells me that there aren't any brackets in the headboard box. He goes back to the truck and works to get the existing bracket off the damaged side rail. He finally got the bracket disassembled and used it on the new side rail. During my frustrating telephone calls to the Customer Care line they removed my delivery charge for the initial delivery. There weren't any additional charges for all the extra trips. During my last exasperating call I demanded that they do something else for me. They offered me a $100 in-store credit. I totally refused the offer, telling them that I was done furniture shopping and didn't need it. So they credited my charge card the $100. The prices, delayed payment plans, and variety of furniture may be good, but their delivery and service department leaves a lot to be desired. read more

This is MY personal experience at THIS location. Your experience may differ. Back story: Went to VCF at Eastpoint last week to look around. Was approached by a saleswoman named Pat. Told her I was just looking and she left me alone and didn't follow me or harass me, which I HATE. Saw what I wanted and told her I'd be back. And I did go back 2 days later eyeing a sectional. Saw Pat again, and after she checked inventory, and confirmed the fabric I wanted, ended up purchasing a HUGE leather sectional and 2 lamps in an amazing 10% off, 48 month no interest deal. So far so good. Now on to delivery. Was told delivery was scheduled for yesterday the 11th. Got a call on the 9th from the warehouse for confirmation of a 12- 3 window. With the snow, I really didn't know if the delivery appt would hold. It did. The delivery driver called at 12 noon, and told me he'd be there in an hour. He lied. He was there in 45 minutes! Two guys came and they were fantastic! They set everything up in about 20 minutes and were professional, clean and courteous. This store is great with lots of inventory to look at. I have bought from the snooty stores (you know which ones I mean) and the service here was way above those, especially the lack of hassle from salespeople. Suggestions for an ultimate, seamless furniture buying experience from this place: 1) Go and ask for PAT! She is very cool, and she doesn't bother you with trying to sell you. But she will answer every question you have and work hard to give YOU, the customer, what you want! 2) Whatever you want to buy, make sure you measure your spaces at home versus the furniture measurements to make sure it fits!! Furniture always looks smaller in stores! THIS INCLUDES MEASURING DOORWAYS TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET IT INTO YOUR HOUSE! 3) Double check your invoice and make sure you are getting what you want at the price you want 4) Have salesperson verify that the piece is in fact in inventory 5) Ask questions up front regarding delivery, inspection, returns, restocking fees if any, satisfaction returns, etc. 6) If you do NOT get a delivery confirmation call when you are supposed to, just contact your salesperson. I did #1 thru 5 and didn't need #6 and I was answered satisfactorily on all of them. They have some very nice pieces at this store and you WILL find something at MUCH lower prices than pretty much most stores. 15+- minutes from 695 Towson, 25 minutes from 795 Reisterstown, 35 seconds from Eastpoint Mall. 4 stars. So I went and bought a couch and a chair and a half on May 22, 2021. The color that I chose was because I was told that they were in stock and delivery date was set for July 02, 2021. Well when I contacted Value City Furniture today, when I contacted Value City Furniture to confirm a time on time on July 02, I was told that the couch was pushed back until the end of July. I was NEVER contacted either by email, phone...nothing. I had asked, but I was sold something that was in stock. That's why I chose that color, usually in stock means its available. Apparently not. From what I was told today is that I will receive my chair and half on Friday but not the couch. So the couch wasn't in stock? Did the salesperson mislead me? Actually lie to me that the furniture is in stock? Because apparently the couch is not. The delivery charge was 159.99 plus tax. So, I am paying for some items that were not available to begin with is that correct? If they were in stock I sure would have thought that from May 22, 2021, you would have been able to get them here by July 2, 2021. I went here looking for furniture for a condo I just bought in Mount Vernon and man did the salesman hook me up! However this time around we ordered furniture on December 30th with delivery promised by late February 12th. We received our sectional on March 9th after we had to call them several times, talk to corporate and get hardly anywhere. We were suppose to get our dining room table March 14th, after several calls we have yet to receive it. However we have received the hutch. Now!! We were suppose to receive it April 20th, after going on line and checking we are not due to receive it till August 4th!! 7 Months after purchasing it. Did we get a call NO!! Do they care NO!! I bought a 4 piece sectional sofa from VCF on October 20, 2021. I was informed that delivery would be on February 8 because of the pandemic. 2 weeks before Feb 8 they pushed the delivery date back to March 16, then March 30, then March 29. I was told they were waiting on 1 piece of the 4 piece sectional. Customer service put me on hold and when they came back I was advised that they found the lost sectional in another city and they would add that to my missing order and assured me it would be delivered by March 29. On March 14 the delivery date was pushed back to April 16. Customer service said the delay was because of the pandemic and they were still waiting on 1 piece and they assure me it will be delivered by then. I got my husband to call them and Customer Service put him on hold and came back and advised him that they found the lost sectional in another city and they would add that to my missing order and assured me that delivery will occur on April 1. Same story I was fed in February. I want very badly to cancel this order but can only imagine how difficult it will be to get my money back. He wasn't pushy and made sure we got a great deal. We were given a time frame that our furniture would arrive and they were 5 minutes early. UST Value City Delivery contractor On 7-17-2021 at 7:42 am I received a call from your delivery contractor stating that he was going to be delivering my furniture within 20 to 30 minutes from the time I spoke with him , he never told me his name nor what type of truck or vehicle they would be in, never explained how to got about communicating with him in the time of the delivery window never ask is there pacific entry that they would need use to being the furniture into my apartment . I call him back at 8:01 am to inform him that it is a pacific entry way of my apartment building that they would use to being the furniture into my apartment I ask him first has he ever delivery to my building before he said NO so tried to explain to him that I would need to direct them to that pacific entry way and it along side the building before the underpass he cut me off before I could explain the rest and he would just call me when they are outside I told him would need to be outside waiting (mind you in the heat/humidity) for them please let me know when your close so I can be outside to direct you. So whole another 30 mins pass and I call him back multiple times to see where they are or estimated time and he never answered his phone till I call him on my phone other line by mistake he send back emoji eyes to that number and then I call him again from my second line and I ask where are you? proceed to chastised me on how I ask him the question. I informed him that I have to report to work and I am outside waiting, he laugh out loud at me and told me he works to and he is at work right now and I told him since your think this funny and game I would report you. He went on tell me that he is the owner and he been doing his job for 11 years and I went on tell him that he needs to respect the customer and let them know what is going when the customer is outside waiting with either text message or a call to inform of any hold ups then he start to get loud with me and say we had hold up at a stop and that are not far away and that I did not say all that stuff to him and he hung up on me. After he hung up on me I walk down to the other end of 21st St to see were they where so I can direct them because he also refused to even give me exact location and the reason as is because he said he never been to my address before I was trying to prevent any issues as I was walking I seen them pass my street (21st) and if I was not walking down the street and seen Value City sticker on the side the truck and wave my arm and yelled your passing street they would kept going god knows where. After they turn around and came down my street they just took upon themselves to turn down another wrong street and not call me and I had to yell again your turn down the wrong street. Once they got to right alley drive they bag up and block the on coming traffic and he get out the truck with his chest all puffed out arm back and head all up and I told him to step back do not walk up on me you need represent yourself from a distance ( I felt threating by his disposition language body as he was walking towards me) then he stated I am not delivering your furniture and walk back to his truck and said have a nice day and I said I did not want you in my home anyway because of you attitude towards me and I will be going my money back.
