Was greeted by Sam who came up my car to check what i needed, which was an inspection he told me it would be about an hour. This was a decent time frame after going to a different location on transit who told me three hour wait. After about 40 minutes Sam drove my truck into a bay. I was told by the manager Marc to watch my step. I'm glad he said something because there is an unexpected drop off entering the waiting room. Sam checked in on me and was very polite and informative. It took about 20 minutes to get inspected. Jake checked me out and had me on my way. It was a great experience overall. read more

wow. I am extremely upset. I started out glad that they could get me in for an inspection. Once in, the technician came to tell me that my car would fail because the wipers were ripped. I wish I would have taken a picture of my blades because they were UNEQUIVOCALLY NOT RIPPED WHEN I PULLED IN. I literally used them earlier in the day, and both were FULLY intact. Now, magically the driver side blade has a two inch tear and the passenger had a once inch tear. No. This was done out of eyesight. I left without getting the inspection completed, then had to buy replacement blades, which I bought at a parts store. No way I'm giving ANY money to a location that tried to pull another $40+ into the service call. This must be the new scam, because last year at a dealership, my blades also were magically fails even though the were also fine at that time. Beware people. Take a photo of your windshield wiper blades before any inspection any place because it takes seconds to tear rubber edges to try charging you $40+ for new, unneeded wiper blades. This isn't over. Next step will be to communicate with whatever regional home office there is. How many times a day does this happen? Is that $20 profit bump worth ruining Valvoline's reputation? Evidently. I'm sure the NYS DMV will also be interested to hear about this. I can't imagine such behavior is part of the inspection and/or repair site certification process. read more

Stay away!...this has been the worst Valvoline location I have ever been to. Staff didn't even acknowledge us when we drove in, just started changing the oil. Is a friendly "hello" too much to ask for from the staff? The manager Nathan was very rude to me when I tried to use a corporate coupon. Stopped in recently to get a quickly oil change and the trip was a disaster. I think this review might be easier in list form, so I'll just list all the problems I had here. 1. These guys were super loose with their masks. The guy who was primarily checking me out either didn't have it on at all or had it hanging off his face the whole time. 2. I have a fairly common car, a VW SUV. Unfortunately for whatever reason they didn't have the filter they needed to change my oil. The rep assured me I could run to the store and buy it myself and they would install it (minus the price of the parts). 3. Because I was desperate and kind of in a hurry, I actually did this. I drove to autozone and bought the parts, only to come back and have them tell me they didn't have the right oil type and they couldn't do the oil change anyways. So they wasted my time, money, and I'm now stuck with an oil filter I can't use because no other shop in the area let's you bring in your own parts for installation. I guess that's what I get for not learning how to change my own oil but still what an absolute PITA this trip was. read more

The staff are personable and although they may make suggestions, I have never felt overly pressured to pay for extras. The people who work at Valvoline are pretty great. I had a tough situation (needing oil and a filter that aren't common), and these guys were terrific. They ran to the Auto Zone to try to find the right parts, and even took care of my fluids and tires despite the fact that I couldn't have an oil change. As a woman, taking my car for an oil change is not an enticing idea. A lot of garages employ people who aren't very nice. Go to Valvoline. Valvoline - Cheektowaga, NY - Upsell Scam 1/26/22 Went for an oil change and after going under the hood, the attendant showed me a printout that I needed a new battery and that they could sell me one. The slip had oily prints on it and looked old. I then noticed it had a different date. When I asked the attendant bout it, he reached for the printout but I didn't let him take it, only look at it. He then went under the hood again and produced a new printout which showed my battery was fine. I later went to my car dealer and had them check my battery -- it was very strong. BOTTOM LINE: The attendant was clearly trying to make a sale using the phony/old printout. I had a similar incident like this at another Valvoline about 2 years ago. They might change oil well, but it's clear the attendant was trying to make an upsell sale. Watch out for this type of scam. read more

I don't typically write reviews, but this was easily the best experience I've ever had getting an oil change and an inspection. A staff member came and got me from my car and walked me to the waiting area with an umbrella so that I didn't get wet in the rain. The wait was very short and no one tried to upsell me on things I didn't need. They informed me of future services they would recommend, but there was absolutely no pressure to get anything done that day. They also made sure I didn't forget to use a coupon to save some money!! read more

Great place to stop by for an oil change or inspection. Staffs are very professional and efficient. You do not need reservation, it's first come first serve. Went there in the afternoon for an oil change, didn't have to wait. They were quick on doing the oil change. Decent price for the service and also got a tire rotation. I was told to park my car In front and wait for my inspection, because oil changes take precedence, sure ok. So I did this and watched as one person's car was finished. I then watched him leave. So far it's been about 10 minutes, no big deal. Then, all 5 employees decided to go outside to smoke or disappeared. I sat for another few minutes while they finished their break. I literally took a video of no cars, no employees in the garage, and just me waiting because I couldn't believe an entire staff would just disappear with a customer waiting. After a few minutes they get my keys and pull my car in to look at it. Oil was changed in August (synthetic) when I told the employee, she didn't mention that synthetic oil does not need to be changed until one year later. Was shown a dipstick and told that there was "almost no oil in my car". I didn't find out until later that if that was the case I would have smelled burning and my oil light would have been on. I feel scammed by your employees and am out $58 so far. Next I had an inspection, which is what I originally came in for. As I went to cash out I was casually told my car didn't pass inspection and she'd explain why while I cashed out. The explanation given to me next to the register was there is "something wrong with the right passenger suspension". No part mentioned that needed to be replaced "he doesn't know what it is, but it's a mess in there". I pay my $85 and leave. I immediately take my car down the street to Dunn tire where they bring it in the garage and take the wheel off, inform me there is nothing wrong, and pass my car no less than an hour after I failed my original inspection. This costs another $10. So now, I am livid because I have figured out I just spent $74 for nothing. I also feel like your employees saw a girl (I was addressed as "honey" and "sweetie" by your female employee. I am 32) and decided I was an easy target to sell unneeded things to. I called the number on the back of the receipt and spoke to Wendy who told me someone would contact me within 24 hours, which has not happened. Let this be a warning to not be taken advantage of, take your car elsewhere! read more

I started off on Niagara Falls Blvd then was going up to the Falls for a while and for the past few years I have been dealing exclusively with the location on Sheridan. Let me start by saying that the team there has always done me right and have provided me, my wife, and friends of the family with an excellent level of service. They consistently exceed expectations and are honest and treat my vehicle like it was on of their own. The Manager, Brian , has always made sure that I am up to date on any necessary services and never once have I ever felt pressured into anything. There are many preconceived notions about "quick oil change" places - expensive - shifty- dishonest- but I will tell you, not here. I refer them openly and I trust (and have trusted) them with all my vehicles over the years. Usually pretty happy at this one but the manager proceeded to take 10 minutes to check my interior filter all while talking to his buddy was there and they also did my oil change without asking which one I wanted.. I'm guessing I'm getting the same thing I got last time?? Guess we will find out at the end? Update: I have now left, I got the same oil change as last time but they didn't check my lights like they usually do and I have a headlight out. Perhaps they should reconsider the manager Eric, not that I didn't enjoy him talking to his friend about his family members that are retards or that he wants to move to riverside. I've been coming here since the wait times at the other place down the road for an oil change have gotten outrageous. You pull right behind the building and a friendly face greets you quickly. Pull in the car and head to the waiting area. They have free wifi which made me super happy (I could get work done while I was getting my oil changed!). I was asked what type of oil change I wanted and wasn't pressured to upgrade. I was also shown the infamous dirty air filter and offered a $21 dollar replacement. I declined that and ordered the filter myself on Amazon for less than 10 dollars before I event left the waiting room. I was able to use a coupon that they had texted me for $5.00 off my oil change which brought the price down to 36.00 and some change. I believe that's pretty on par with what the other place down the road s charging but without the wait and hassle. read more

Must have gotten nailed for loose inspections and decided to take it out on the customers last year I went they didn't take a tire off a few months ago I was given the third degree on it by rude employees. As a woman I always feel like I am taken advantage at these places anyways, $70 oil changes have become commonplace. Thanks for making me feel like crap with my inspection and my fathers mechanic said these places don't have mechanics and they don't know what they are doing. I came in for an inspection. Was told it'd be a 1 hour wait, after 2.5 hours they hadn't even started the inspection yet! When I asked the manager when they would be starting he shrugged his shoulders and said they had oil changes to do and they take priority. It's absurd that you'd offer a service that you refuse to do. Making your customers feel like garbage is no way to keep business. If I could them a negative 5 star I would . they changed my son's oil in a 2001 Camry and when he came home I noticed a huge puddle of oil driveway , my son brought car back twice in three days . They assured him everything was fine . I then proceeded to take vehicle to a real automotive repair shop and was told that valvoline stripped the oil plug in the oil pan . It was necessary to replace plug and re thread the oil pan opening .. I own a collision shop and being in the automotive repair business myself .. I WILL NEVER GO THERE OR ANY OTHER LOCATION EVER . And whoever reads this heed my advice or they ll ruin your vehicle also read more

I used to have my car inspected there for the past three years because I thought they don't do repair on the car so they don't need to create car repairman for you. Last month I went there again for a car inspection and a guy called "Dan" asked me if I ONLY need a car inspection and I said yes. After a while he told me I failed because passenger side exterior mirror was broken. I asked him to fix it and he said it was broken and unfixable. I checked the mirror and found out you can move it a bit but it won't fall off. I unclip the quarter bezel from the front of the window opening and there is a 10mm retaining bolt needs tighten to securely fasten the mirror and Dan refused to fasten the bolt. So I drove home and fixed myself and want back and this time it was OK. However, Dan need previous receipt to cash me out which I forgot to bring with me, even thought another employee volunteered to cash me out without the receipt. I drove back again and fetched the receipt. Dan told me he was not mean but tried to help me which I did not fell being helped at all because I spent the whole half day back and forth three times just for an inspection. I will never go there! read more
