It pains me to do this; I've been going here for more years than I count, but I did my oil change there on Friday, 03.20 (when they had their 20% off entire invoice online special). I got my oil change done, simple as that. The problem came with the extras... they tested the battery, and for some reason it came back as "low, needs replacement" (I'll explain the dubiousness in a sec). They wanted to charge me $350 for an AGM battery, even tried to upsell on it. Side note: granted I arrived at the tail end of their day, but they also didn't check transmission fluid. Something to consider. Needless to say, didn't take the first offer presented, as I went to a local parking lot and called AAA, have them do a remote battery service for a second opinion. And guess what they found? The battery was operating normally. Far and away from the results shown to me on the valvoline worker's iPad. Which indicates that someone was lying. Out of the blue, this seems an isolated incident, a one in a million chance; but I have it on good word from a local FB group that this is happening with other folks as well.. not with batteries necessarily, but crucial items such as transmission fluid supposedly very low, when in fact it was their oil. Out of respect for going there for years, I will not say names... but I must affirm that this is the one time any type of doubt is put in place for this establishment. And such doubt (not to mention potential for flat-out lying to the customer, all for the sake of making extra at the end of the day) is something I simply cannot stand by. Please, beware: it is genuinely nice to go here for the convenience... but it's a shame that I feel I almost always need a second opinion to do any kind of service done for my vehicle. If the point of Valvoline is to be a reliable/trustworthy one-stop shop for any quick service... in terms of trustworthiness and reliability, they are failing here. And I urge retraining or a QA audit on the location to ensure that trust is rectified and genuine. Thanks. I have gone to this valvoline a few times since moving to the Brea area, and have been consistently met with great customer service. The technicians are friendly and informative. They are usually very fast and you're able to get in and out quickly with your oil change. This location is a little less busy than the one I used to go to on imperial which is nice because I usually don't have any cars ahead of me. read more

Quick service. Didn't have to wait long. Checked my lights which were all fine. Didn't check my windshield wipers. Showed that my oil got changed and my filters were still ok and didn't need changing. My tire pressures were supposed to be 35-36. Prior to coming in, my tire pressures were 27-28. They asked if I wanted them to be 35 and I said yes. Before I left, I asked if they added pressure to my tires and they confirmed they did. My tire pressures are still reading 28. The guy going thru my services said my rear differential needed to be done and was going to charge me for it but the other guy said my car doesn't need that service since I don't have a AWD. Good for just an oil change but I would recommend having other services elsewhere. read more

First time here. Wasn't sure how it worked. You just pull up to a bay and no appt needed. The wait was only 15 minutes. You stay in your car, pull in and they do the work while you're in your car. They checked my lights and I had a read brake light out. They fixed that. They show you your oil dip stick after (which is important to me because I've been shorted a couple of times at other places). I was out in about 20 minutes. You do pay "a little" more for the quick service. But it is worth it if you just want to get on with your day (like me). The crew working there was nice. I recommend. read more

I would have given them five stars. As soon as I pulled in. Everyone had a sour face like they were miserable hating the world hating their job. That was the vibe I got. I just wish they could have smiled to make me feel like I was welcomed. Anyways, I stayed. They were respectful. The job was done quick. I turned on my car and drove off it was like my engine was super smooth and buttery LOL and then when I turned on my AC hot damn it was so powerful like a brand new AC after they changed the filters. I regretfully write this as I have been patronizing this location for the last 10+ years. I always had doubts about the integrity of the services they offer. It wasn't until this week that my doubts were confirmed. Suggesting service where there is ABSOLUTELY no need, is unethical and has no place in our city or anywhere else for that matter. This location has repeatedly suggested services that I need without actual evidence that it is needed. While I kept coming here, I figured that there wasn't any harm so long as I didn't purchase anything more than an oil change. While I understand that there are certain mileage points where suggestions can be made, saying that my transmission fluid is low when in fact my transmission was just serviced, is down right fraudulent. But, to be fair and give the Valvoline employess a fair chance when it is brought up to them, I took my car to a mechanic that verified that my transmission oil was perfect! And to my dismay, my car did not show evidence of the oil being changed recently. This is appalling! Places like these give honest automotive shops a bad name. I will not only be speaking to the dishonest employees at the shop, who by the way, attempt to coerce you into purchasing services with their "courtesy" but I will also be posting this location on social media to divulge their years of dishonest service to the residents of Brea and beyond. The technicians were very quick here and was able to do an oil change, transmission fluid exchange, and radiator coolant change all within 20 minutes! The service here is very detailed and they don't miss any spots. The price for a full synthetic oil change is $105ish which is a lot more than other oil change places I've been to. But I think that premium price is worth it because you get so much service. I didn't even know transmission and radiator fluid changes existed until the technicians here told me about it. It turns out I was very overdue for those fluid changes. No oil change company has ever told me that I needed those fluids changed out until I met the people at Valvoline. This place was quick, convenient, and courteous. I have been here three times, and each time, the staff there has been helpful and professional. Not only do they do oil changes, they also do minor maintenance such as air filter changing, tire rotating, windshield wiper refills, turn signal lights, and more. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you have to have the driver's side window rolled up 3/4th of the way and put the keys on the dashboard. The staff wear masks and gloves. I felt safe going there.
