Even the service I always get was a dollar higher here? I noticed it seemed high when he read the total, but didn't think much of it. They intentionally wait until after you pay to show you the charges and once your receipt is handed to you, it's "goodbye and your car is running on the street with the driver door open ready for you to leave". Not worth it for me to go back and cause a scene about, but definitely will not be returning to this location. For all I know, they're scamming for small amounts and pocketing the difference - it adds up. Beware.

The technician who rang me out, took my debit card and then turned to me and said, it only took partial payment you owe $970.?!? Realizing had done something wrong, he called the manager who yelled at him and said you " fat fingered the keyboard in charge this man $2970." I only had a few thousand dollars in that account. Of course I got a message from the bank. He did apologize, processed a transaction for a refund. I went to hand him a credit card, and then said to him look, I would much rather that clear from the bank, I get my funds back. My wife will be in when that happens likely that will be Monday. He said fine but make sure she comes back. I said don't worry I gave him my drivers license and my phone number and drove away. Monday came, still hadn't cleared, you left me a message on my cell phone asking me if we would please come back and take care of this. Monday night it did finally clear, I told my wife she would need to get in there Tuesday and take care of this. Tuesday morning, he called at 6 AM, 615, 630, 7 AM, 720 finally left a message saying that if we didn't take care of this and pay cash, he would call the police. Working for a business out of state, I leave my companies phone number on my voicemail, he proceeded to call my company and left another threatening message, threatening to call the police over an oil change. .... Broke just a few laws there! Even the IRS cannot threaten you and they can't call you at 6 AM in the morning. My wife went back down to the business on Tuesday and said I'll put this on a credit card, the young man who is at the desk, refused and said cash only. She went over and got cash across the street, came back and they refused to give her a cash receipt! Honestly, I was not mad at them when I left, mistakes happen and I don't really think I'm angry now however LOUSY customer service, lousy training when it comes to things like this and the owner/manager is in Louisiana. No access to even send him an email and let him know what happened. No offer, never an offer for a discount because they caused me so much problem. I didn't need that and probably would've refuse that, but it would've been at least something for our aggravation and. I had been a Tire Discounter customer for 35 plus years. Wouldn't get my tires anywhere else…read more Eventually that expanded to include oil changes, wheels and batteries. Unfortunately, about 5 years ago it just became a series of problems. They didn't put an oil cap back on. Not the end of the world. A hassle perhaps, but things happen. A couple of days later they called and said they had my oil cap. How they knew it was mine I don't know, but it was missing. When I went returned they said I would get a free oil change on the next trip in and they would put it in my file. Six months later I go for an oil change and they have no record of any such thing. On another car they knocked off the sensor(s) when putting on new tires. They put on a new sensor but it was never correct. The ABS light, brake light, etc comes on intermittently and they said there is nothing they could do. With two cars and a truck it just seemed like there couldn't be any visit where things didn't go south. This was NOT at the new Ft Thomas location. I don't want to mention the store because I'm sure there very good people there and perhaps the ones that caused the most problems are gone. Since it happened over a several years I have to think it is a bit more cultural than just isolated incidents. I have two older identical cars that still run great. I am giving one to my granddaughter. I had purchased very nice wheels from TD several years ago and wanted to hang on to them. I called the wrong TD by accident and arranged to have the wheels swapped and buy one new set of tires. The guy was so friendly I thought this is great! Nothing like the grumpy guys I usually deal with. I went to the TD I've gone to for several years and it was the same old huffing and puffing. They acted like I was putting them out for wanting to switch wheels and buy new tires. I finally said "Nevermind" I will call the tire dealer I talked to earlier thinking it wasn't a TD store. Oddly enough it was the new TD in Ft Thomas, KY (by Jeff Wyler). I explained that I called the wrong store and if they could still change the wheels and sell me four tires. Marty, the manager, was the most friendly and knowledgeable person I've dealt with at a TD location. He gets customer service, went out of his way to make the whole experience first class. TD needs to put this guy in charge of training managers on customer service. Just being friendly goes a long way. Hopefully it would filter down from Manager to staff. Sure a good price for a product is wonderful thing, but nothing beats great customer service. Marty and his crew get it. Friendly. Take a genuine interest in the customer. It ain't rocket science but it is stellar. Marty and his staff have salvaged an ex-customer. I do think great customer service should be the norm and not the exception. We like to rant and rave about great customer service. I've already told several friends and neighbors about the new TD location and the great service. Marty and crew have, for me anyway, made customer service exceptional. I highly recommend the Tire Discounter in Ft Thomas.
