Invoice from Wednesday when they told me about the switching of the tanks, ATF & CVT.
    Belinda R.

Drove in -Towed out On Friday Mar.8,2024, I drove my 2005 Chevy 2500 Suburban with 126,044 miles, into Valvoline on 3009 in Schertz to get my transmission fluid changed. The 1st wkr started the process of sucking the fluid out of the transmission tube with this one white tube, the fluid coming out was red. He used a blue tube attached to the end of the white tube to suck the rest of the fluid out. Then the process of the refill started with one white tube, the fluid started out red for about 30 sec then the machine cut off. The 2nd wkr restarted the machine, then the fluid going into the white tube was black, again the machine stopped. The 3rd wkr came over, restarted the machine, black fluid continued into the white tube. Again, the machine stopped, by this time the place was backed up with customers, the Asst.Mgr. Anthony came to me to explain the problems with the machines and the reboot process. The last worker finished & called Anthony over to ask about the machine, he walked over to show me the dipstick was on the full mark. I paid, drove to DFW. Omw back home Tues. my truck (which has NEVER had any issues), had the dash light-up saying "Transmission Hot". On Wed.Mar.13, I checked my transmission dipstick before I left my house to go back to Valvoline it was black & smelled like burnt oil or something. I used a white paper towel to clean the stick & check it. I drove up to Valvoline, Anthony came out, checked it & said "oh that's not good, Friday was a busy day with a lot of issues & I think the tanks got switched but don't worry we will take care of it." He had me drive into the bay, the next Asst.Mgr. Mark came out & started the process of draining the fluid with a single white tube, the fluid was coming out BLACK, I videotaped it coming out. Mark & Anthony told me that "it was possibly CVT instead of ATF due to the issues on Fri. & the number of people who worked on the process that day." After the 2nd flush on Wed. the truck would barely go, it wouldn't go over 30-40mph, it felt like I was pulling an 18 wheeler. Mark & Anthony said come back on Thurs.to do more flushing. I could barely get it home which is 3 miles away. Thurs. at 9:45am I returned, this time I only see & speak with Mark, no Anthony or any of the employees that were involved in the initial process on Friday. He had me pull into a bay & proceeds to check the trans fluid at which point he tells me that he needs to call his mgr Nathaniel before he flushes it again. Upon returning, Mark tells me that "CVT wouldn't hurt the transmission & since they flushed it out 3 times it has washed the CVT or whatever out & it's probably a sensor or just a coincidence that my transmission broke." I had only driven 566mi since the transmission change. He then advised me "to take it to a professional transmission shop & get a professional opinion before they would take responsibility for it."(He wrote it on the receipt). I called & spoke with Kevin at a local transmission shop who advised me to have it towed, don't drive it, he also spoke with Mark, he stated that if I drive it & the transmission locks up they won't be able to prove or disprove anything. I had it towed to the transmission shop, they took it apart & saw no evidence of previous issues, everything looked like damage was caused by CVT or something like motor oil. Since Valvoline had flushed it 3 times there were only traces of something that was in the torque converter & filter. The transmission shop wrote up the findings & submitted them to Nathaniel. He called me & denied "that anything that his highly trained employees did was not the cause of my transmission failure." He said it was "my fault because I asked about the Lucas Trans additive & they put it in." He said that "they verified that they only put automatic transmission fluid in my truck." I ask how he could do that, he wasn't there, was it just because it was written on the paperwork? I told him I had audio of them talking & videos showing the fluid coming out on Wed. along with the conversations telling me that it could be (this or that) fluid & the CVT wouldn't cause any issues since they flushed it out. He said that his "guys are highly trained & they wouldn't do that. Sorry for your damage but we're not going to pay for it." Now I'm in a rental until they make it right or I have to get an attorney involved. If they were so highly trained, why did they perform 2 add'l flushes & tell me they would take care of it. NEVER GO TO VALVOLINE!!

I got my car cleaned and absolutely had to get a quick oil change and they are right next door with open availability in their bays. But dang man- 89.95 for an oil change!??!? They did a lot with the full experience. They offered to check the inside cab filter. I declined because the basic stuff like changing a filter, I rather not pay money for. They pulled out and showed me the outside filter. I declined them changing that as well. In retrospect the price they were going to charge to change it out wasn't that bad considering it included the price of the actual filter it self. They checked the lights like doing an inspection. Let me know my license plate light was out. They even offered to replace that too! They also checked my battery levels. I appreciate the thoroughness. I must say, they had awesome customer service. If I get some coupons in the mail, I'll go back over there. But that price range was a little too high for me.

Guy said no it was even 3 when he started few years ago and no it was not. Want to charge me crazy amount for water pump 700 when it will cost me only 290 at a trusted shop. I just laughed and left. Also suggest going to firestone for alignment. 200 lifetime and no extra fees when you get it done Update as of feb 26'. If I could do negative stars or even no stars I would I just had suspension replaced at another shop and I told them I would get alignment because I already have lifetime warranty here. They laughed knowing crooked problems with company. Besides point but throwing in how crappy this company is. But I drive to brake check everything was fine. I leave after alignment and its worse than no alignment! They didnt give paper showing before and after until I raised hell after to see what was done. Damn near nothing done to back. Front was tweaked a little. They did not suggest anything. After I come back because my car drives worse they say I need all these new parts. The parts they are trying to have me buy is what I literally just replaced. How crooked do you have to be? Will be talking to corporate soon.

Guy kept telling me they close in 30 mins and was rushing through my car. He also asked me if I had issues opening my hood which I haven't touched as their the last one to touched it during my old change. I tried to open my hood when I got back home and the latch broke off, which I wasn't notified. Not sure if he pulled on it since he was rushing and the latch broke or the guy that did the oil change broke it . End of story, he didn't fix the leak, he wiped it off and told me to come back at an earlier time not before their closing which I would if I had the time. Oh best part was, he couldn't find my car in the system and told me to bring back a receipt when I come back. This place used to be ran better with the old guy that was at the front desk, now they got someone who doesn't care running the front desk and fixing your cars. My advise is look for a different place before your car starts leaking oil

My requests were: Oil change using Penzoil, Tires Rotated, Air Filter Changed, Do Not top off my wiper fluid as I use Rain-X and do it myself, and to call when they are done as I will not be waiting in the store. As far as I can tell, they rotated my tires, checked the tire pressure, checked the tread on my tires (I'll get back to this), did the oil change, changed the air filter. Things that did not happen correctly: Wiper fluid had been topped off, and I got no call when the car was done! Also, back to the tread on my tires, the cashier told me that the tread on my tire was given a certain score and was not sure what it meant though, except that the tires would likely need to be replaced soon but no esitmate on how many more miles they had on them (which is frustrating). All of this cost me only $56.31. So, I am giving them 4 stars because I usually have awful experiences with car places and overall they did pretty well, but took off because the cashier did not know what the tread score was, no call, and the wiper fluid.
