They forgot to put the splash shield to the oil pan back on, and didn't put a crush washer on the oil pan drain plug, so it developed a slow leak. There were 5 people standing around watching 1 do anything. They did not check anything just filled the washere fluid. They forgot to do most of the list of checks. I had to remind them to check the tires. Then after 2 people kept asking about tires the 3rd rolled his eyes and put ait in the tires. Here, I waited over an hour with only one car in each bay and at least 5 guys working. Then, as I'm about to finally get service, I'm told that they can't change the oil on my K5 unless I brought my own filter. This has never been a problem before, but a problem-solving crew may have seen my K5 waiting for an hour and called to see if the autozone next door had one, I would have even gone to get it myself. Yesterday I went in for a basic oil change, and was seen after about 30 minutes (busy day, not a big deal). Service was quick and easy, and on my way. Shortly after leaving, my engine started to smoke and my car started to lurch. After making it to a safer spot, I discovered that my oil cap had not been replaced, at all, and oil had spilled out all over the engine and surrounding parts. After calling the store, the manager came out to take a look, and subsequently brought me a new cap and offered me to come back to the shop. They cleaned my car up, verified the oil, and nothing more. While mistakes do happen, and fortunately there wasn't further damage to my car or my safety, Valvoline didn't offer a discount or refund for nearly ruining my engine and wasting an additional two hours of my day stranded while they grabbed a new oil cap. Calling Valvoline's customer service, they offered me a free oil change on my next visit. Very disappointed not in the situation, but how Valvoline has handled it. read more

So I went to a Valvoline off of Shawnee Mission Parkway and got my oil change done then when it was time to do another oil change i decided to do my own witch I have done numerous times and I have never seen a oil drain plug and oil filter on so tight to where I had to use a breaker bar for the oil drain plug and then for the oil filter it was on there so tight it damaged the threads that you would put the oil filter on. I would not recommend going to them. They are over tightening the oil filter and the oil drain plug and to get 8 quarts of oil. It cost me $135. When I go to Napa and get 8 quarts of oil and the oil filter it cost me only $68 way cheaper than Valvoline. read more

10-7-2016 I have been to this place multiple times and I can't express how much I like this place. In my past review I threw out two names and I'm going to throw out one now. Jo she was great. Very professional. One thing I like so much about this place over others is they are not pushy. While they will suggest tire rotations and other things I don't mind it, because they don't try and push they only recommend. Every time I'm here I truly do feel like a valued customer and they will keep getting my business. I truly hope who ever owns this location sees these reviews and rewards his / her employees somehow. Very pleased. I'll throw out 2 names Jesse and Andrew was very professional. Very informative about everything. He did try to sell me on some manufacturers suggestions for added services, which I get that's his job. But he was by far from pushy about it. In the past, I've honestly had no issue coming to this place for a quick oil change. However, recently I've noticed they have had some new hires that do not know what they are doing. I brought in a corporate fleet vehicle for a simple synthetic oil change. My work truck was working perfectly fine before I brought it to this location. After the process took painfully longer than usual, I get 3 miles down the road and my truck's engine completely disengages and started making horrible noises and every check engine and warning light imaginable came on. I had to wait an hour and a half on North Oak for a tow truck to pick my truck up and bring it to a Ford dealership for inspection. Safe to say this Valvoline location will be receiving a call on billing once the mechanics dig through the engine and see what they damaged during a simple oil change. Avoid this location. read more

Please read this review. This company completely ruined my engine by putting the wrong oil and not enough oil. After going to this location I had to take my newer car to the auto shop because of a knocking. The owner told me right away something wasn't right so he drained my oil.. I was 2 1/2 quarts low of oil from driving only 800 miles. He then said that's not even possible unless there's a leak.. no leak. Ivy or ivry the manager blocked me. Customer service lied to the BBB and to myself throwing myself in circles. They ruined my car and I have been having to walk everywhere.. not easy to get groceries. They are owned by a Saudi Arabia oil company and do not care. Oh and about 15 min wait time is such an understatement. In contact with lawyer now but just so you know if this ever happens to you which I hope it doesn't it is EXTREMELY hard to get help from this company and also finding a lawyer to help with this kind of consumer protection. Oh and did I mention not even a couple weeks later I called the auto shop and they sent another older lady to his shop from ruining her car.. she tried screaming at them went no where and I tried handing it professionally and went absolutely no where. I'm extremely disappointed with this place. I bought a groupon last night for a $60 synthetic oil change. I showed the guy when I pulled up my groupon and asked him if he needed to scan it, he told me no so I redeemed it. They did the oil change on my car and then told me my total was $85. My total should have been $25 + tax because I needed a new filter. The guy who was helping me had no idea what groupon was and should have known because this groupon for specifically for their location. The only person who had ANY idea what they were doing was the manager. I argued with the kid who helped me for about 20 minutes because he didn't understand what I was telling him. Moral of the story, if you're going to advertise a groupon, tell your employees what it is. I've worked 65 hours this week and this was my one day off and I had to spend an hour and a half sitting at Valvoline because someone didn't know what groupon was. Will not be back. DON'T. GO. HERE. After admitting they seized up our engine and destroyed it (they checked videotape), it's been 3 weeks of lies on their part and disaster for us. Two different mechanic shops (!) said NO oil at all was put in during this "service"- everything was dry. Valvoline promised to try and get us a rental car: FAIL. One mechanic's shop confirmed Valvoline co-manager lied about the miles on the replacement motor they chose- thousands of miles over what he said they were going to have installed: FAIL. Afterwards, we've had a second breakdown and again, back in the shop. WARNING: we've spent 3 weeks juggling 2 work schedules and locations across the metro, first grade, and a daycare schedule, because of Valvoline on Shawnee Mission's incompetence- there IS no service when they don't do the service they're advertising, then lie about everything else. Both mechanic shops and one of the drivers of 2 of the tows told us NEVER use name brand "quick" oil places: Valvoline, etc.: ALWAYS go to your local mechanic you have a relationship with. Lesson painfully learned. The purpose of this alert is twofold: 1) to SAVE YOU from the damage and distress we've been forced to deal with and 2) put the incompetents at this location out of business: you can help shut it down to protect all unsuspecting future victims. read more

This is a clean officiant quick oil change they have an early bird special where you can get $10 off a regular oil changes i think is about $30 I used a coupon $10.95 regular oil change and was very satisfied I've used them several times I do think $40 is too much for a traditional oil change which is their normal sticker price go for the early bird special or get a coupon read more
