Great customer service over the phone when I called in. The girl was helpful in explaining the services they provide included with the oil change, i.e. top off fluids. She even emailed me a coupon for a discount on their service! I like how I can just wait in the car while the service is being completed. When I drove up, the attendants immediately guided me and confirmed the services needed. A customer always appreciates being acknowledged and addressed. All the bays were full, but from arrival to departure, total time was only 20 minutes for an oil change and additional 40 for transmission flush (they had to use a drain method as opposed to the dialysis machine). Since it took a bit longer than usual, they gave a discount on the services which I was very pleased with. A very reasonable service time in my opinion. As a long term returning customer at the Tulare Prosperity location I was absolutely shocked by my last visit. They forgot to put the under shield back on so it scraped as I exited. I drove around for them to attach it. I went in to get an early oil change having 37% left on oil life and a blinker replaced. I had to return again since they didn't properly replace the correct bulb that I did pay for. The manager came to my window on the original part of the visit to assure his personal hands on oversight of the work completed which I realize now was a joke. How could a full crew with no other customer get so much wrong in a single visit? Normally this location has good reliable staff members. I stopped here from Oregon for an oil change on my way to NM. The communication was excellent. The team was Marcos, Briana (who was in training), & Brian. Today I got my oil changed again back in Oregon & was horrified when I saw the oil filter (photos below). They broke two of their tools trying to remove the oil filter, which was put on WAY too tight by Valvoline Instant Oil Change staff in Tulare, CA, doing their best not to ruin my car in the process. Wow! We just bought a private owned vehicle last week. Took it to Valvoline for an oil change and they were very thorough. Today, while in Tulare, the serpentine belt broke. Made it to buy one at an auto store, called Valvoline and they said if we could make it there, they'd do their best. Got there and they didn't have the tools to fix it. So one of the mechanics went out of his way to call his father in law (a mechanic) and asked him to come take care of it for us. He not only came down and fixed it, but charged us very little. Could not get over how amazing and kind these guy's were. But the fact that they went above and beyond for us. I'll never go anywhere else now. Thank you gentleman... I have been coming to this location for about 8 months, with no concerns or complaints. Recently took my car in, the manager told me my rear passenger tire was low on pressure - had a nail in it. I him told my tire pressure sensor hadn't gone off and please show me the nail. When he did show the the tire it was fully inflated with no nail. When I asked the manager to explain, he told me he had re inflated the tire before showing me. I finished the oil change and took my car to Costco tire, as I have a warranty. They checked the tire for a nail. They didn't find one. I would like to warn other customers of this blatant scam. I will not come here again. read more

I can't recommend this store highly enough! I slipped in near closing time for a quick battery change. Well, "quick" didn't happen. My battery was secured in a manner that defied all attempts to remove it. Nick and Jarod stayed for over a half an hour AFTER CLOSING fighting with it, apologizing all the time for the delay. We finally called it a night and I returned in the morning. They worked on it longer and finally got it out and switched. After all that work, they gave ME a discount for MY trouble! I came here once and never coming back again. Coustomer service was so horrible i had to do the talking and the guy helping me was just nodding his head. I felt like i was not getting the service i should have got. I get home and check out oil level which was ok. But they did not change my oil filter!! I called them back asking them why didnt they do the full service i paid for and asked for some type of refund or free service. I liked going to this location due to my previous good experience. Took my Honda and of course I get told I need a new air filter which was just changed within the last 6 months but based on recommendation the tech suggested I agreed to change it again. He quoted me $21.99 I agreed. Then they told me I needed a transmission oil change with radiator fluid change.. ugh I declined and told him my husband would take care of that. Finally after all said and done I was surprised with the total but paid it since I was in a rush. Later upon reviewing the emailed receipt they overcharged me on the air filter. I called them and they told me I had to return to the location for refund. At this point it's an inconvenience to deal with this so my husband returned and yes they provided a refund of almost $20 and said it was their system that always seems to mess up prices. I'm not sure I will return here. I don't want to worry about being overcharged. I work a large organization who offers discounts here but not worth the hassle. Fast oil change service but be careful that they don't rip you off on filter change up sale. Especially the ones that protect your air-conditioning system that are usually behind your glove box if you have an import car like a Kia or Hyundai. They wanted to charge me $50 for that I look at it and said there is no way that that could cost $50 and I told him thanks but no thank you. Then I proceeded to look one up on my phone while I was there and found one for 9.99. They didn't say thank you they couldn't of got me out of there faster. read more

I usually am very skeptical of oil Change establishments. I found that their competitors are a little over priced and were not very friendly. I can care less about them being friendly but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the Valvoline Instant Oil Change guys in Tulare. First of all they were $10 cheaper than their main competitors in Tulare and cheaper than the dealership. I called ahead of time to see what the wait was like and he said it was busy and to come an hour later and it should lighten up. Sure enough, I drive up and there was no wait. They were very nice, took my info on my car, asked a few questions. They changed my oil, filled it, filled my windshield wiper fluid and verified my other fluids were in good shape. They checked my battery charge and took out my filter in front of me so that I can see that it was actually my filter and not a dirty prop filter that is commonly used to make the consumer buy another filter. Mine wasn't bad so I'll probably have to replace it next time. Another cool thing they do is they check every top they open and they yell out to the manager that they checked. This was my first time I enjoyed getting my oil changed because I left without feeling ripped off. They also have coupons on their website www.vioc.com and the email you coupons too when you leave to get a discount on a second car within 30 days.
