We leased a GMC Terrain from this dealership. After taking possession of the car, we continued to receive calls from them asking if we were still interested in a Terrain. Our lease is now almost completed. For the last 6 months we have received phone calls and emails asking if we are interested in another car. We have told the caller every time that we were not interested and to stop contacting us. Yet, the calls continue. The service department is no bargain either. We had trouble with oil leaking after an oil change. And, a serviceman tried to get me to purchase a product that I had bought the time before. Stay away. read more

We were shopping for a Camaro for our son and was shopping it online and saw a deal at Gateway Chevy and since we live in Scottsdale and we didn't want to drive to Avondale, we decided to also shop with them. I told them the price that I got from Gateway and I told them not to waste my time and I'll only come in if they could match or beat it. They said no problem, we can beat it and we show up and I didn't have a good feeling from the time I walked in thru the door! They throw a price $10k higher than what I told them. Typically I do not write reviews but this time I feel like it may be the only way to get someone to get back to me about my car. I dropped my car due to a transmission recall. I was told service would take 2-3 days. Today is the end of day 11. I have called once per day for the past 3 days. No response and no updates given. I've been kind, patient and understanding the whole way through. Today I called and asked for a manager to return my call. So far, nothing. I just want to get my car back or be offered a loaner at this point. This is now affecting work. As of now, I will never bring my car back to this service center. Worst experience of my life. Bought many vehicles in the past but this one takes the cake. Would give zero stars but I don't think that's an option. Never done a yelp review so this is my first time which goes to show how disappointed I am. Supposedly bought a vehicle and they said it was on a train on the way and it turns out that they don't have the vehicle. They had me drive down and have my vehicle appraised. They had me go through the finance office which was another horrible experience (They started with a high interest-rate and then had a negotiate to get a lower interest-rate even though I have tier 1 credit). I signed all the documents which is typical when you buy a vehicle and in the end it was a scam. In the end I spoke to the manager who said that they don't have the vehicle. Spoke to the sales manager Mike Walsh who didn't seem to care- he is probably accustomed calls like mine. DO NOT do business with this unethical company!!! read more

I purchased a GMC Acadia Denali in 2015. I have a couple issues that have required service and they were taken care of. I am writing about the most recent issue. We had a passenger air bag light come on and we were told that it was $1000 to repair. We asked what would happen if we didn't repair it and were told that the air bag could not deploy in an accident or that it could just randomly deploy without an accident. With the recent safety recalls by other auto manufacturers we were surprised that this major safety concern wasn't covered under a recall. It is very unfortunate that we were charged approximately $1000 to fix a safety hazard. I hope that the same issue doesn't occur to others purchasing a GMC. read more

Had a service appt for oil change and one issue I was having with some noise in the rear end. Oil change was done, not in the time frame they told me of course, which was annoying since I was choosing to wait there instead of using their uber service. As for the rear end noise, service guy couldn't answer how that was handled when I picked up. Took my car and left. He told me he would follow up with what they found but 7 days later and still nothing. This is my first encounter like this. I will be canceling my warranty through them because honestly it is not worth the effort on following up with these people. Even called warranty people about directing me on how to cancel my warranty and surprise, no return call either. I'm so tired of businesses saying the service is poor because of covid related issues. When you have staff you are paying, can't they do their job? Just a phone call to offer some customer service, seems simple...Not here. I would give 0 stars if I could. They sold me a truck that has been in countless times for a vibration that they tell me is normal. When I test drove the truck and mentioned the vibration the salesman told me it was tire flat spotting and it would go away and/or be fixed under warranty. Now in the middle of a BBB Lemon Law claim. I'm upset that GM rolled this truck off the line and many more like it, but I'm more upset that the dealership hasn't resolved the issue. I also find it cute that the salesmen keep calling asking if I am in the market for a new vehicle. I've literally been told my truck "meets spec". If I could rate this place negative stars I would. I was in a minor accident which was thankfully not my fault, so I took my truck into the Van Collision Center which is where my nightmare began. I will admit the accident was not exactly a fender bender, but the damage was very far from severe as it was all body damage and no internal damage. It took a team of professional mechanics TWO MONTHS to replace a hood, front and back bumper, front grill, and the tailgate. My experience with working on cars goes as far as an auto shop class in high school, but I promise you I could've done it in a few hours, not a few months. The amount of time wasn't even the worst part, the customer service blew it out of the water. The man I had to deal with (Mark) was the most condescending, unresponsive, no f**k giving person ive dealt with for someone who's supposed to keep me updated on my vehicle. After it was all said and done, I was told "2 more weeks" on 3 occasions, and I had to practically beg my insurance to extend my rental allowance twice before I had to strongarm Van into paying the remainder of it. I would recommend them for the sales part but your follow-up is horrible. They sold me a vehicle with only 1 remote for the vehicle. I bought vehicle on a Sat, the other remote was locked up in an office with a lady who was the only person who could get to it & she was on vacation and wouldn't be back till Tues. On Thur I still hadn't heard from dealership so I called and they stated it would be mailed to me. It Arrived on Monday, 10 days after I bought the veh, but the remote didn't work on my vehicle. Hands-down best car buying/leasing experience ever! My current GMC terrain lease was coming to an end so I was in search of same vehicle and the same payment. I reached out to about five or six dealerships and nobody had the inventory nor could get the payment to where I needed it. I reached out to Van and spoke to Rufus. I spoke to him on a Wednesday evening and by Thursday we were at Van GMC picking up our new car! I told Rufus exactly what we needed the kind of car we were looking for and the payment we had to stay within. And he made it happen! There was no sales pitches and no nonsense he wanted to find us exactly what we needed and he did. That Thursday we went and met him and he was wonderful as was all of the staff at van GMC. He found discounts and rebates I did not even know existed. My husband is a law-enforcement officer and there was actually a first responders discount that we easily signed up for through GMC and got extra money off the car! again I would have no idea about that but Rufus knew! The process was so smooth and easy and hassle free. Everything from signing the paperwork to financing it was all smooth sailing thanks to Rufus and the entire team. OMG, I just has the worst experience ever with a car dealership. I went in to have my brakes done and an oil change on coupon, when I arrived the rude salesman, Jason, stated that they ALWAYS have to turn the rotors ( another 175+ per axle) AND with the cheap pads that were on coupon he couldn't guarantee they won't squeak. Now those brakes are costing more than my Mercedes brakes do- at their dealer!! What a sales pitch. The oil change was at least 17 + dollars more ( high mileage) and if I didn't like it too bad- go elsewhere . I had talked to there guy for over 1/2 he to make my appt - couldn't they have shared all that. The sale manager ( Rick Stubbs) just kept saying " well, he's being honest) all the while no one had even looked at the brakes. Yea, we honestly want to rio you off to pay got our high overhead) to top it off- when I went yo my car it wouldn't start- the key was in the ignition and the battery dead... I called a friend and great mechanic - ( Stacey's Airpark Auto- Aaron Nelson) and he called a tow truck for me; had me pick up by there shuttle and will do the brakes and oil change for a reasonable price. No more dealer coupons for me and I'm asking everyone to STAY AWAY from Van's Chevrolet!!! We have never had service of this quality. We were looked at strangely when we came for night drop off. One of the service staff just glared at us as if he were invisible. It was very concerning. The fun doesn't stop there, we were very specific about what service we needed. We were having issues with the transmission and were wondering if the GMC dealership could take a look. We were called and told that our throttle body needed to be replaced. The service adviser, Jean-told me that YES that would fix your issue with your transmission. I pay over $600 for this repair. I want to mention here that, at this point, we are 1 week into moving to Arizona from Maryland. So we already feel out of place and a little vulnerable. So, we pay. The issue still existed. I quickly called Jean back and she asked if I could bring the truck and demonstrate the issue with our service tech. \We arrived. Jean was very nice and had a guy come out to take a ride with me. He didn't say hello or anything, he just looked at me and got into my passenger seat. I was taken aback but the transmission was more important at that time. I told the guy what I had experienced and then I showed him. He said-well, you need a new transmission and that would be $3500. You should trade it in now because they won't be able to notice the transmission issue. I reported this to my husband and he was FURIOUS! He called Jean and wondered exactly what was going on. She referred him to the manager. She said he will be in tomorrow and will call you in the morning. The next day, my husband called since he hadn't heard from him. He was told that the manager would be in late today. To this day, 2 weeks later, we have never heard from anyone at this dealership again. If we needed this part replaced-fine. But don't tell me that this will fix my transmission problem. We are new to the area, but customer service is not only on the west coast. This is why we get our truck serviced at GMC directly-to avoid the run around. Otherwise we would go to any mechanic on the corner. We have never been treated so disrespectfully. This left such a bad taste in our mouth. Customer service was awful, communication was bad and the experience was just poor overall. We will be taking our business elsewhere. I don't recommend getting your service here. I don't recommend purchasing here. I just don't recommend doing any business at Van GMC. read more

Fabulous service department. Sales side is not nearly as good. The sales side of the dealership are overly aggressive making unwanted phone calls to past customers even when asked not to call again. I love my car and if I had to replace it tomorrow I would probably still do business with them but I wouldn't look forward to the experience. Beware. I recently had the worst experience buying a car with this company. I went in on 10/31/15 and stated I wanted to trade in my Tahoe for a new Yukon. I stated that I did not want a service contract because I trade in my car every year for a new one. I was only shown a 2015 and so I trusted that was all I could afford. I went ahead and purchased the vehicle. They called me 2 days later and asked me to come back and sign new paperwork, they made a mistake. I did so. When I got home and looked over the contract, all of the numbers had changed. The payment went up, the interest rate went up the service contract that I said I did not want was on there! I looked online and noticed the 2016 was the exact same price as the 2015 I purchased. They dumped a car on me because I trusted them. I am disgusted at the criminal activity that goes on there. How they are a GMC dealer I have no idea. They do not care about their customers, all they care about is making money. I am now in contact with General Motors to get this resolved. I purchased a 2019 Buick encore a few months ago. I love the car, but when I went to the finance department they pretty much forced me to get the extended warranty. I told them that I would only get the warranty if they would throw in full maintenance for the life of the warranty. The finance manager agreed to it. Here is where the headache begins. I made an appointment for my oil change and they wanted to charge me $100. I told them that I was supposed to get free maintenance, but unfortunately they did not see that on my records so they directed me to the finance department. I went to the finance department, I explained what was going on. They said they would look into it and would call me back by 2pm. Two days went by and I still didn't hear back. So I had to drive back to the dealership and request to speak with the GM, instead the finance director came out. I know that the dealership records their sales since there are at least three cameras in the room when you are signing your life away. But according to the finance director the footage was missing and therefore he refused to cover my maintenance. I feel miss treated and lied to! I recommend to anybody thinking about purchasing a vehicle to please record the process yourself to prevent something like this from happening to you. I bought a truck from these guys and they delivered it with an extra 150 miles on it from when I had bought it, no one could tell me where these magical miles came from, and no one did anything to make me feel better or fix it. I had just spent nearly 60k! Afterwards, they called me for a free service. When I showed up for the free service they told me no one had called me, that I had checked myself in online, and that the service was most certainly not free. These guys are THE ABSOLUTE WORST IN THE BUSINESS. One of the service people told me to "Go fuck myself and get out of here." Nice, right? I have a 2016 Yukon Denali that needed service. I absolutely love this truck more than my BMW X5 or my Cayenne. However, I think that this service department should take some lessons from these dealerships. They know how to treat their clients like they are appreciated. Jason did not address me by name, I was handed a key afterwards and my vehicle was literally parked by FLW. I spent nearly 90K on my truck. More than either of my Euro cars. Never go here .... period.... i came in a week ago and purchased a 2011 Range Rover and had the deal sealed and placed the down payment. The vehicle was preowned and needed to go through an inspection and was promised to be delivered to my home the next day. Tuesday I get a call and was informed that because it was a luxury car it needed to goto Range Rover but will be ready Friday. Friday rolls around with no update so I called 4 times and was told I would get a call from the manager but never got one. I was told by the sales agent on Saturday morning that it has a "minor issue" but will be fine. So I call the dealership trying to figure out what is going on and get transferred around 7 times and hung up on 2 times until I finally get the manger Ariel. Ariel tells me that it needs $8,500 in parts and that she wanted to discuss the possibility of splitting the cost with. ARE TOU SERIOUS!?!! My father and I immediately go to the dealership where we are asked to go into a room ... probably to avoid the other potential suckers from hearing about what they tried to pull and offer to show me another vehicle. After an hour I decided on a lower end car an all would've right. NO.... they than asked me to place another $1000 down on a vehicle almost half the price of what I already paid for. Needless to say we walked out after I asked for my money back .... and they're response ... comeback Monday and we will write you a check ... so I will be reporting this to my bank as fraud because it was not the agreed price and never received my vehicle.... do yourself a favor and never go Updated: tried calling the number Josh here said to call and they don't even bother to call back. We had a problem with the park assist system not working and went to Van GMC for what we thought was a warranty issue. They told us that one front bumper sensor was damaged and it looked like someone bumped into it and it was not covered by warranty. To get this very expensive sensor changed took 3 days and $530 As a reference, the year 2013 Yukon sensor cost $35 on amazon and is probably the same sensor. A total rip off..... read more

Bret Glass found exactly the 2017 GMC Yukon XL Denali my wife and I had been searching for(over 4 months) & is a very GMC knowledgeable, low pressure, genuinely good sales person(emphasis on person, not the sales). Entire crew helped my wife and young daughter feel at ease, Steve Friedman helped in the end and even our finance individual (unfortunately I forget his name, my fault & not his!!) did an outstanding job explains the factory warranty as well as the amazing and fair coverage that could be added to the vehicle. I bought a GMC Sierra and I got an extended warranty for it and when I purchased the extended warranty was going to cover my truck for up to 5 years or 75000 miles when I received my paperwork from MPP my coverage was only for 48000 miles or 4 years, so this guy in finance is a big liar, he told me if I had any problems to call him I had left several messages for the guy and finance I have not received a phone call back from this guy at all, every time I call the guy the receptionist all tell me that he is with a customer. He will dodge your calls, not return your messages, and if you're lucky to get him on the phone, he will promise to call you back with answers and never call! DONT GO THERE!!! Too many other dealers. Let me start by saying we had a deal. Went to sign papers, sat in the car and it WAS NOT the car I made the deal on. (less features, cheaper car) and they never said a word. Noticed the tires were different, less mileage on the car than the one I originally drove. When I mentioned this is a different car, they said, OH we sold yours last week but we got you this one exactly the same. They did take off the difference after I was going to walk out. They told me I couldn't put any money down, and had to finance the whole thing if I wanted the discounts. They quoted me a higher interest charge than any other dealer with my excellent credit. Sat down to sign the papers, and the finance charge was higher than agreed on!! They said Oh, it is set in the computer, I will change it. Felt very uneasy I was being scammed TWICE and walked out.
