My daughter went with a cup of Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. This location is large and airy, and there is seating outdoors, but we opted go go a few steps further and eat our ice cream by the water. Salt & Straw is a little more spendy than other ice cream places, but in my opinion, it is worth it for the unusual flavors and the freshly made waffle cones.

It had a subtle floral note paired with well with honey that gives it an earthy undertone. The flavors are well balanced without being overly sweet. I would always order this along with another seasonal flavor. The salted caramel apple pie was just ok. It tasted pretty good when I tried it but the more I eat it, the sweeter it got. I also thought there were very little apple flavors so I would not recommend it. All of their ice creams are always very rich, smooth and velvety which is why I keep coming back. We came at 9:30pm and there was still a line out the door but the line moved fairly quickly. The staff was extremely friendly and was very patient with us in letting us try all the flavors we want before we decide our order. Overall, they offer many unique flavors and I would recommend to come back over and over again to check out their seasonal menu every now and then.

Since I ordered chocolate, I expected the chocolate-berry mix to be brown, but it was a darker purple. The taste was the perfect mix of chocolate and blueberry. It seems like many fruit-flavored ice creams are vanilla-based. Since I enjoy chocolate, a chocolate-based blueberry flavor was refreshing! Happy this place is so close.
