Too bad they have really good ice cream but the employee that serve us has attitude. Location: It is located along 3rd avenue. The store has few seatings inside. Service: the girl who serve us has a terrible attitude. There was no line and she seems to be in a hurry to take our order. We didn't even get the chance to really look at the menu because she seems to be irritated. She even told me and my friend "ill take your orders and you guys can pay together". She didn't give us a choice. I ordered two scoops in a cup and the two scoops are smallest two scoops I've seen in my life. We then went to the cashier and we wanted to pay separately. The cashier asked again the irritated girl if this is separate or together and she said "together". We said it's separate then she made face on us. Like annoyed face. Food: Too bad cause their ice creams was delicious and very creamy. The flavors I love was the Earl Grey, Affogato, Pistachio and Cookie dough. Price rating: 10/10. It was expensive to the amount of ice cream she gave me. $9.74 for 2 small scoops of ice cream called "gooder" Definitely will come back to another location and not here!!

Hot day, refreshing 2 flavors: Sour Cherries and Cream, AND Affagato (coffee n cream taste) AND, surprise-FREE TOPPING TUESDAY.

Thanks NOAH, for your TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! When I walked in, on this hot day, there was no line, and I was lucky to be helped by Noah. Lots More people came in as I sat down. Very busy. Also, it was VERY HOT OUTSIDE. Tuesday June 24, 2025. Heat alerts and everything, today. I enjoyed 2 flavors in a cup, and Noah told me it was FREE TOPPING TUESDAY. I enjoyed yummy, real chocolate curls, on my 2 great flavors of ice cream: Affagato, which looked and tasted like a coffee and cream scoop, and the super delicious, Sour Cherries and Cream. Served in a see-thru, plastic drinking cup- GREAT!!! I love this way of serving. It's because I had a topping. If I had not gotten a topping, then I would have had my two scoops in a cute paper cup. Thanks NOAH, for your great service! I know I'll be back !!

I stopped by on a Friday night at around 9:30 pm and there was a bit of a line but it wasn't too bad of a wait, about 10-15 minutes. Since it was a little busy, we were limited in the number of flavors we could try. I was with three friends and we decided to split three flavors: Earl Grey: 4.5/5. Classic. Earthy. Subtle. I liked it a lot! Passionfruit Berry: 5/5. Hands down my favorite flavor of the three. It had a nice, refreshing sweet-sour taste. The flavor just screams tropical summer! Banana Bread Pudding with Fudge Swirls: 3/5. This one had to grow on me. I think the banana flavor with the fudge swirl had a level of sweetness that was a little off-putting at first but I started liking it after a few more tastes, especially with the banana bread bits. Van Leeuwen is known to be a little pricey but the workers gave big scoops even with the rush! Plus, every time I go to a Van Leeuwen, the ice cream is super rich and creamy, so definitely worth the trip.

Van Leeuwen ice cream is a big weakness I have. If I see a nearby location I have a scoop. It is pricey and well worth the price. I used to get two scoops when I first started visiting their locations. I found the scoops have gotten bigger so one is enough. I've tried coffee and a couple other flavors. I always return to the Peanut Butter cup flavor. Anything with peanut butter! I tried vegan and hated it. I never tried it again. If you are in Yorkville you should visit this location. They have the same fast friendly service. My mouth waters just looking at my photos!!

Specialty ice cream at it's best! This location is popular and very busy as it is right by Times Square. I visited around 9 at night on a weeknight and there was a short line out the door. Everyone in line knew it was worth the wait as they stay open pretty late anyway. Their flavors are legendary and unique such as Spring Specials: Vegan Planet Earth, Dulce de Leche Walnut cookie chip, Peaches & Cream, or Honeycomb Fudge Ripple. I was going to be transporting ice cream back to our hotel for the rest of the family so only having 2 hands, I was limited in what I could order. I left with the Bigface coffee affogato milkshake, two scoops of the Brown sugar cookie dough and a scoop of the Dulce de Leche walnut cookie chip! All 3 were heavenly. I don't know if it was the best ice cream I've ever had, but it was really good! It was pricey, but it's New York City.

    So good!!

I've been to this location before and love the ice cream, it is pricey. But I enjoyed that they had a truck on leap day in Washington square giving out pints to try their limited edition hazelnut fudge cookie, so good! It was not overly sweet and creamy, the right balance, I really enjoyed it.

This is my favorite ice cream hands down. Previously I would order the classic flavors, may I recommend the cookies and cream? Now I've been enjoying the vegan flavors! I think my favorite is the chocolate ice cream with brownie pieces inside. Regardless of if I get vegan or regular ice cream, I like to get a mini sundae. It comes with 3 toppings and even though it says "mini", it's really a nice size! Pro tip, ask for a cherry! They are really good.

The service here is pretty fast, considering that it's always packed every time I've been here. The ambience is really cute and has outdoor seating as well. I really like the flavor I got it was vegan cookie dough, not too sugary and still pretty good. A lot better than their pints available at target lol.

Ice cream was creamy and good! The ingredients tasted of quality! For its price tho, I think we have better options :) Service was good! The server was accommodating and patient with me! Ambiance is great, cute design. Matches the brands vibe. Loved it!

Favorite ice cream. Great flavors, different. I love that I get to taste on the little spoon. Nice people work here. Very clean.

We stopped by just before closing and still got a very friendly, warm welcome! This was my first time trying Van Leeuwens and all of my friends raved about the honeycomb flavor, so of course that was what I had to try. The ice cream is really delicious and really creamy. It's very clean inside and there's a couple seats to enjoy. It would definitely be cheaper to just buy a pint from a grocery store, but where's the fun in that? Excited to come back to try all the other flavors!

The ice cream was amazing. Honestly cannot beat the creaminess and insane flavor. 10/10 Loved the atmosphere. You just felt instantly happy when you walked in with the bright but calming colors. The service was very kind and scooped a gracious amount. It was a small hassle to walk through the building and find it but it's worth it for the jaw dropping taste.

An exciting addition to the UES neighb! Much shorter lines than the 2nd Ave location and if you're lucky enough to get Yerial as your ice cream scooper you'll really be winning So grateful for the great service, fantastic recs and her patience through our flavor indecision. They have fantastic vegan selections that taste just as good as dairy if not better and be sure to go on Tuesdays for a free topping

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

The menu inside breaks down all of the sandwhiches, you roll up to the deli counter when they say next, spill out your order (add/remove stuff to your order) and you're done. Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.
