I'm updating my review because I'm really upset. I'm not taking back my review of the process of leasing my new car cause it was really great. But now everything that's happened after is a nightmare. About a month ago I had my keys stolen. I had no spare because they said it was backordered when I leased my car in September. Come the end of December, still had no spare. I had no way to move my car, and resulted in towing it. Since I leased the car, the advantage is having roadside assistance, but Kia roadside assistance would barely work with me to get my car towed to the dealership, and when I asked Kia of Van Nuys to help tow my car they said they couldn't help. So I paid out of pocket $330 to get my car towed to the dealership for them to program a new key for me. I was in contact with RJ throughout the process, but he was no help. He kept saying service will let me know when my car is ready. No one called to tell me it was ready, I just ubered there after 24 hours. RJ wasn't even there and not on single employee had any idea which car I was talking about or where my car was. After waiting 25 minutes they finally found my car and the new programmed key... NOW I'm getting collection notifications from the car that I traded in to get my new car. Kia still hasn't claimed liability for my old car. I had to go to the dmv website to release liability. Going on 5 months since trading in my old car and getting a new one, things are still popping up. To say I'm upset is an understatement. read more

IMPECCABLE SERVICE!! Car purchasing can be quite a daunting process but man, what a great team they have here. We came at 11am and the place was packed (and for good reasons)! I personally work in customer service so I pay attention to the small things. We never felt rushed or ignored. Ramon (our Sales Associate), Johan (our Finance Manager) and Arnold (the General Manager who I must add, wears a mean suit ) could not be more accommodating and true professionals at what they do. My husband and I trusted them completely and to be honest, you can tell that they are just genuinely a great group of people! He provided us with a lot of useful information. On our second visit we came to test drive the car. JJ again greated us with a big smile. He took us on a test drive and helped us sign a deal that worked for us. He is enthusiastic, funny, and very welcoming. He is very knowledgeable in his line of work and really has the costumers best interest. He is a great host always making sure we had waters in had. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (by 1 salesman) The salesman (Russell) gave me 1 price (more than the vehicle was selling for). I spoke with other salespersons at the dealership and verified that the price that Russell gave was, in fact, incorrect and should not have been given. After feeling a bit uncomfortable with the deal that was offered, we asked the salesman for his contact information so that we could call with questions that we may have on the vehicle while we discussed purchasing it. We attempted to contact the salesman numerous times to discuss different options on the vehicle and to get more detail on the offer that was made. After leaving voicemails, texts; there was no response. I even called the dealership the next morning to discuss the vehicle. Russell was not in so I had to speak with another contact at the dealership. After discussing the pricing error and situation with the new salesperson, they advised that they would contact me with more information on that vehicle. A while went by and Russell ended up calling instead of the "new" salesperson. I advised Russell that we had been trying to call/text him all evening with questions and he told us that he gave us the wrong contact info because he was upset thinking that we would not purchase a car. He proceeded to be untruthful regarding the details of the "deal" that he was working for us. The only problem with that was that he gave me a copy of the paperwork that had the "deal" typed up. I advised him that this is a terrible practice for a businessperson to have and that he should not act in that manner. He got upset and began to get belligerent/personal. I advised him that I would never buy from him (though we wanted to purchase the vehicle). His unruly attitude and unprofessional ways cost him the deal in the long run. The manager of the dealership contacted me and apologized for Russell's behavior and asked if there was anything he could do. For that, I'm grateful, but the damage was already done. read more

This is the second time my vehicle has been in service at this dealership. My family has been loyal customers with Kia for over a decade and we do not get the same loyalty in return! It's been a week and I still haven't had a update to the least about my car. I too also have a job and it's been expensive with Uber and taking the bus!!! Calling almost everyday, leaving SEVERAL messages, messages to other employees forwarding to my car advisor and STILL fail to respond! Unprofessional with no sympathy! Only reason why I've took my car here is bcz it's local and tow service is limited BUT after this experience I will choose to pay extra on my tow to another dealership bcz customer service here is HORRIBLE & UNACCEPTABLE! Dealing with service departments at car dealerships are typically dreadful with long waits and poor attention to detail. I was initially working with the downtown LA dealership service department which I'm not a big fan of. Ruben, from van nuys, was different! I've had quite a few issues with recalls and replacement parts needed for my EV6 and Ruben has never failed to help me in the most timeliest manner and has kept me updated even when I've had to wait longer than I wanted for parts. I then worked with Delmy on financing, who again was extremely personable and friendly guiding me through my first car financing experience and all the questions I had. If there was a way to leave negative stars I would. This experience has been a total nightmare. We can't get anyone on the phone in the service department in less than 10 minutes. Then they can't find the vehicle in the system. One receptionist disconnected the calls several times. Our car was broken into and damaged. They made a stressful situation more stressful. A part needed was never ordered- adding another week. We are donating the car to a friend whose husband had a stroke. They have delayed having the car back to us until the last possible minute before a friend flies in to drive the car back to TN. The absolute WORST service situation humanly possible. I'm 53. I went to Kia's website and built/priced a 2 year lease with 10k miles/year, $3k down for a Niro EV EX Premium @ $326/month. The site sent me to Van Nuys Kia because an exact match available. I contacted the dealer and noted I wanted the vehicle/lease at the terms I built on the website. I was told yes that was available so I made an appointment with Samantha to complete the paperwork and finalize the transaction. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told Samantha wasn't there, but another salesperson would help me. I went for a test drive, even though it wasn't necessary since I've owned 3 EV's. On the way back from a quick 2 minute test drive, the salesperson said since new cars are in demand, there would be a markup. I said, very clearly, I was only there for the lease I priced on the website and if that wasn't going to be honored, there was no need to proceed further. We went into the showroom and the salesperson came back with a monthly payment of $580/month. Again, I mentioned the deal I agreed to was for the build per the website and if that wasn't going to be honored, we shouldn't waste time. The salesperson left and came back, but this time with a sales manager. The sales manager said he could do $530/month, which he claimed was only $1,000 over MSRP. 530-326=204/month. Over 24 payments, that's almost $5,000 more, not $1,000 . I said this wasn't what was agreed to and left. The sales manager kept saying it's just negotiation. When the terms of the lease were already agreed to, there's no negotiation. After I left, I received a text from the dealership saying they would honor MSRP, but by this point, I was done with them because 1) they agreed to a price and didn't honor it and 2) the sales manager lied right to my face about the price being only $1,000 over MSRP when it was more like $5,000. Also, fool me once... Maybe they're used to dealing with people who aren't financially literate and they can get away with this shady behavior, but I would stay away from this place. Ramon Vallejo was a master salesperson and he was very easy to talk to and his demeanor was pleasing. He worked hard to make the car deal without being annoying and desperate. I also want to say that Farid the finance guy was also very easy and pleasant to work with. I feel that KiaVan Nuys is the place to go. I got a new 2023 Forte car for a VERY affordable price. I had my car towed in after a minor accident over almost five weeks ago. This kia service center has been jerking me around- won't answer the phone when I try to contact them for updates (they have caller ID), tell me my car will be able to be picked up and then say that the technician who'd been working on my car didn't show up for work. It's been there for over a month. Supposedly the parts needed came in last week. They have been unprofessional and a financial nightmare. Never again. This has got to be one of the most unprofessional dealerships around. After weeks of having our car, their corporate department said that they'd cover our parts as long as we pay for the labor from the dealership. The service quoted $12,000. Well, one of them did. The other said $3,300. Then the $12,000 guy says we need to listen to him and not anyone else. Called corporate who called the dealership and the dealership told them $3,300. When we called back to get the repair, we were told again it would be $12,000 and that we shouldn't call corporate again because his word was final. $12,000 to repair a car worth $5k, which has been maintained meticulously. The service provider Jonathan was also condescending and rude the entire time. I will never buy another Kia as long as I live because of this dealership. read more

Me and my gf came to this dealership shopping for a new car on Labor Day but left with an experience we'll never forget. The salesperson assisting us was Abby (she is very kind and polite). After some negotiations and informing her that we were going to look for a better offer elsewhere, her manager Suit Kakkar came over to talk to us. He came with 2 different estimates however we were not satisfied with his offers. I asked him "Is this the best you can do?" He replied yes. I then told him, "Thank you but we'll pass on the offers, can I take the estimates with me?". He rudely said "No! These are private" and simultaneously snatched the papers(estimates) from my reach and handed them over to Abby. He then just walked away without saying a word to us, not a thank you, I appreciate your time, we're here if you need anything, nothing was said at all. Not to mention when we were negotiating with him he rudely said "Well if you want a nice car this is what you have to pay", is that polite for a "manager" to say to customers? The way he reacted to me rejecting his offer and asking to keep the estimates for my reference was unprofessional and rude without any valid justification. I understand if the papers were confidential but he didn't have to react that way. I'm not sure how a POS like him can be a manager. I'm certain that he has a negative personality as you could immediately feel the tension amongst his peers as soon as he was present. Anyways, we made our way to Kia DTLA right after and purchased a brand new vehicle from them that same day. We got a better deal there and they treated us with respect. Manar, the Internet Sales Manager and Delmy, the Finance Manager made the whole process easy! Manar and I went for a test drive of the car I saw online. I know deals are what they are, and depend on the manager and dealership. But I wanted to understand what my final cost was going to be, because my main concern is to avoid the unexpected. I believe this dealership is better at being straightforward with their clients. Omar went above and beyond, providing all the numbers I needed. Basically, they are not trying to deceive anyone. But afterwards they added the BS "fees". Or they tried. Its an ethic issue for me, not just a money issue. They backtracked a lot but why give them the business at all after that? I didn't. Internet buyers beware! The prices on their website look good, but they add $2300 in non-optional dealer installed accessories on ALL their vehicles. The salesman my husband was talking to, Brian, was helpful and sent him a price quote quickly. However, he was not interested in negotiating. After adding sales tax and the cost of financing  that $2300 in accessories you are spending nearly $3000. So, when you look at the prices on their website remember to add $3000. When we called them on it, they said "we're still the cheapest Kia dealer in town". We did not buy from them on principal. read more
