The entire service department has horrible customer service. My 2023 Kia Forte needed the entire steering replaced within 3 months of owing the vehicle. Within the 2 weeks they had my car not once did anyone call me to update me on the status of the repair nor did anyone apologize for the multiple inaccurate ETA given. Specifically Jorge had me drive an hour down to pick up a rental without mentioning over the phone I would have to pay a $300 deposit even though the car was under warranty. There was a 30 min plus wait time every time I called to speak to anyone. You are automatically put on hold when someone answers and they only speak to you if you hang up and call again. After various failed ETA's I had to demand Andres to directly call the carrier of the part being delivered to get an exact date. When I first asked if he could call the carrier his answer was "They won't tell us when it's getting here." No one in the service department takes any kind of initiative to get you answers by making a few phone calls, the only thing they do is ask their parts manager for an ETA. Everyone is lazy, rude, and completely unreliable. Will never purchase a Kia again. read more

This are the worst crooks ever in the automobile bussiness, We arrived at 7:00 pm to test drive a vehicle We had called earlier to check availability and detais, spent about 3 hours in the dealership going back and forward working with salesperson and manager on financing terms and price, after an agreement was reached they directed us to a different room were we supposed to sign all the legal doccuments and financing papers. But guess what! They had added all kind of BS coverages, warranties, dealer charges, and maintenance contracts etc, and the price had gone up from $11,600 agreed upon, to a cautiously hidden $18,500! I assume they realized that we were very tired after they had closed the dealership at 10:00 pm, they expected us to sing and not to read the loan contract, wich they conviniently keept as one of the last of many pages put in front of us to sign, while they constantly try to divert our attention joking and chatting all king of BS conversations ! We were almost done and barely caught it and pointed the price difference to them, then their mood drastically changed, and that's when the real assholes came to life, they did all the paperwork again and blame the "other guys" for the missunderstanding! A new contract was drawn, and this time for the $11,6oo previously agreed! So what this SOBs did to me to pay back? Well, they decided to go ahead and run my credit 8 more times, that action by itself lowered my FICO scores for about 16 point! It is really bad if you know anything about credit repots! They also hide from the bank and from us until the last minute, that the vehicle was previously used as a rental, info that we saw in the CarFax report also mixed within the last papers needing signature! They didn't disclose that during the previous 3 hours we spent at the dealership! I DO Not recommend this bad people, stay away from this crooks! They tried all the way to screw us but make it look legal! read more

I recently bought a car from this dealership. I am writing this review of the dealership, the process, and my car salesman, Ken Penafiel. This is a rather new dealership in the van Nuys area. At first glance, this dealership looks very small and inadequate for a proper car buying experience, but they store the bulk of their car inventory at a few satellite lots within 1 block of the main lot. It is a minor inconvenience not to have all of their auto inventory in one location. My car salesman was Ken Panafiel. He was an excellent sales rep and assisted with all my needs. I appreciate his genuine approach to communicating with me and his easy going attitude when it came to gathering info and details for the sale. Having bought cars in the past, I came to the dealership expecting to haggle over pricing and that still has not changed. The dealership manager, approached me with the terms favorable to the dealership, but I knew what I wanted and what I was willing to pay so the negotiations were rather short and mildly stressful. This dealership got a sale out of me by not pressing their terms on me too harshly and meeting my terms with some minor concessions on my part. The entire process from arrival to departure with a new car was about 5-6 hours. A long day, indeed, but I took a few test drives, gathered personal info for loan application, negotiated a deal, signed documents, and had to return the rental car I arrived in, prior to leaving the dealership with my new car. Ken Panafiel was even kind enough to follow me halfway across the San Fernando valley to drop the rental car off and bring me back to the dealership. His services are worthy of my praise. My overall rating for this experience is 4s because Of the mild haggling that took place despite my firm offer. as well as some up-charging that was disclosed to me after the initial base price was quoted. Kia puts nitrogen in their tires, has a GPS type locator built in as a theft deterrent, and applied 3M scratch/scuff resistant materials applied to areas most prone to that. These add-on's are applied by the manufacturer and are a hidden cost, totaling several hundred dollars, that adds to the overall cost of buying the car. read more

I always thought going to the dealership would be more expensive but Ismael at Van Nuys KIA saved me a ton of money! My transmission was no longer under warranty but Ismael realized that the problem was connected to the hybrid system and got the manufacturer to foot the bill. If I'd gone anywhere else I would have been out thousands of dollars I can't promise you'll get that lucky but at least you'll know you're dealing with honest, reliable people and if they can do anything to help you get a better price, they will. I took car in for alignment and found bent strut. Ismael is a good service writer. They order the parts and said be out by Christmas. Part showed twice on their invoice but not arrive. 2 weeks later part arrived (after New Years). Dealership allegedly paid for half of the car rental to make up for time. read more

Let me start by the service. I took my car in for a battery replacement and had an appointment and yet was told that they were about 2 hours backed up. When I scheduled they guaranteed the car would be ready with an hour or 2. They tell me that they have a staff shortage. Hours pass and they tell me my car is almost done. I happened to see my car on the side and they tell me that they are not sure what is wrong with the car and they may have to keep it a few more days. My lease was about to be up. I end up leasing a new vehicle that same day since I was going to end up without a car. Mousa was great and even expedited the inspection on the new lease so that I would not have to come back. Then we get to finance and everything seems to be quick and simple. Days go by and I check to see if the buy out payment has been sent to Kia Finance for the lease return. No payment has been received. Then after me calling them to follow up they tell me they made an error with the contracts and the VIN and a previous lease. I come in and sign paperwork and the person who had agreed on meeting with me that day and time was not there. So then another person takes over and helps me. Then a couple days later I call again and once again they did their paperwork wrong and I had to go in AGAIN. This was a week ago and still no payment has been sent and now that account is past due and I do not have that vehicle. It's been almost a month with the new car and they still can't get their paperwork sorted out. I love Kia but this place definitely needs to get better with paying attention to the details. And as far as customer service it is horrible. If I don't call them they don't update me. Oh and then they ran another credit inquiry after already running it. Definitely do not recommend coming here. Very unorganized and not professional at all. read more

They keep you sitting for hours so you will be exhausted and not fight the "add- ons" that they insist are "on the car" and cannot be removed. (Sales person told us this) BULLSPIT! $1799 for "insurance for the paint" and "lo jack" that is only good for a year, and two other "insurance" items for nonsense things that were just there on my contract, which they fly through and do not want you to read. Moreover, they threaten you with the car is "as is " ( they must have said that 100 times ) to get you to buy the additional warranty for $1000 a year! I will never EVER enter a Kia dealership again. I usually go to Honda to buy a Honda and there is a good reason. Sleazy finance manager at this place. I need to take a shower just thinking about it. I should have walked out. If the car had been for me, I would have, but my kid needed a car for college. I know its my fault, caveat emptor, because I accepted the deal even though I knew I was being hornswoggled. BUT YOU SHOULD NOT!! STAY AWAY, unless you like to be abused and want to leave feeling ripped off. I did tell them to expect a bad review if I did not like the car or the deal after I left... so here it is. The car seems okay after a few days, but it was NO DEAL after the "add-ons" . They offer a fair price in their ads, but when they get you there , nothing is "fair" , except they probably think we are all "fair game" . Disgusting.. Please save yourself the headache and stay away from this dealership. Once they sell you the car, you have zero value to them. Our brand new "top of the line" Kia Sorento malfunctioned and was inoperable exactly three months to the day we leased it. We were on our way to a trip for Memorial Day weekend, and we were stranded in a 7-11 Parking lot. We called the dealership right away, and were told that there wasn't anything they could do to help. We had to get a friend to call AAA for us to get the car to them, and 27 days later, it is still there! Since then, we are chasing the dealership down for answers. Apparently, our brand new car needs a new transmission, but it's in back-order and there is no definite date as to when it will be there and when the car will be fixed. We were never given a loaner, no matter how many times we asked for one, and now we have paid over $1,000 for a rental that's nowhere comparable to the car we leased. At this point, we have physically had the car for three months, paid $3000 for a down-payment, over $2,000 in payments, over $1,000 for a rental, and countless hours of stress trying to get someone from the dealership to help and/or give us answers. Other than twice, where a service department employee called us, we were always the ones to call. The one supervisor that actually returned my call, the Drive Manager, was very rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I have owned many different cars, and have NEVER experiences such service from any other dealership. read more

Made an appointment for service with a 9:00 am appointment time for my 7,500 maintenance. At the time of purchasing my car, the dealership threw in the 7,500 mile maintenance and the 15,000 mile maintenance because they had messed up on the contract and I had to come back (an hour drive) and resign the paperwork, nor were they able to get me the deal originally promised and signed for. Fast forward to 7,500 miles and time for maintenance. I made a 9:00 am appointment and showed up at 8:30 am. Upon dropping off my car, the gentleman "helping" me tells me that the "free" maintenance only covered the oil change and nothing else. No multi-point inspection that KIA recommends or anything else. I say fine and the person took my info and just walked away. I had to run after him and ask him where the lounge was for me to wait for my car. He tells me an I proceed to the lounge. Hours pass by with service people coming in and calling other people there waiting for their cars. 4 hours pass by and I receive a call from an unknown number. They do not leave a message so I call it back, it was the service gentleman informing me my car was ready. 4 hours for an oil change on a scheduled appointment. I can see if I was a walk in. So after waiting 4 hours and I call the gentleman back, as he is incapable of coming to the waiting room to let me know my car is ready, I go out side and stand until a young man asks me if I needed help, still not the guy "helping" me. I inform him I was told me car was ready and he leaves to get it. After about 10 mins. he informs me they are bringing it out. He leaves and comes back a minute later and proceeds to ask if I would like my car washed!!!! Now keep in mind, Van Nuys Kia boasts that they do free car washes with maintenance. And I was told by my sales person that when I brought the car in I would get a full tank of gas. Of course I told him no to the car wash, I had waited long enough and nor did they give me my tank of gas so profoundly promised by the sales team! I then get called in to sign my paper work. Upon reading the receipt and the labor hours, It only took them 15 mins to do the work!!!!! But I waited 4 hours!!! So No customer service what so ever! . Do not come here for repairs or maintenance as you will be waiting for ever!! read more

If there was a zero star rating option for KIA service department. at this dealership that would be preferable, specifically for the service manager Emir Kozoglu, who is rude, ignorant and has zero customer service skills. He also put down his own staff in front of customers, shaming and humiliating them. My experience was equally humiliating as he verbally attacked me for no apparent reason, again in front of other customers. I took my car in on a Friday without a reservation as my trunk latch suddenly broke and I was driving with it open which was not safe. Jonathan was working that day, who from beginning to end, was helpful, polite and professional. I was told that the part would not be in until the following Tuesday, but was directed to a rental car company nearby and told that I would be reimbursed by KIA as my car is still under warranty. Jonathan also said that as he would not be working on Tuesday he would transfer my ticket to Emir to take care of. I tried calling Mr. Kozoglu several times to touch base with him with no response, neither did he attempt to call me. On the Tuesday I tried again and left more messages. I finally spoke with him at 11am and he said it MAY be ready by 5:30pm but he would call me after 1pm to confirm. At 4:30pm he still had not called so I called and again he did not come to the phone but the girl I spoke with said, that she thought it might be ready by 5:30pm, but was not definite. I explained that I needed to know for sure as I had to return the rental car and they CLOSED at 5:30, and would it be better to pick my car up the following morning. She said she would check and came back and confirmed that would be fine. The following morning I went to pick up the car. While I was finalizing the paperwork with Jonathan who was back at work I also asked him a question regarding the rental car reimbursement procedure. Emir came over and snapped at me, "Do you have a problem?" I said that I didn't with him, but then hesitated, as he was being so rude. Before I could say anything else he accused me of "ALWAYS" being a problem, apparently all five times I've been in. Besides the fact that I had only been in 3 times, at NO time had I ever met or spoken with him before!!! I can only imagine he might have been referring to an incident I had with an abusive LYFT driver on my previous visit, that KIA had arranged to drive me home. I was very grateful for KIA arranging that and the problem was with him, not them. Out of courtesy I called to tell them what happened as KIA was the client. However, that Emir should label me as being a problem because of that incident is shameful, and that he would be screaming and yelling at me is unacceptable. He also told me that under no circumstances would I be reimbursed for the rental car! (I subsequently called KIA consumer affairs and they negated that statement). Before leaving the dealership, I spoke with Emir's supervisor Vegas(?) who was calm, but less than helpful, in fact he seemed to find the whole thing amusing, and said they were extremely short staffed so there was nothing he could do (?!). I have since tried to contact the general manager Arnold Gonsalvez three times, but he also doesn't seem to think this important enough to return my call. In closing this long but necessary comment, I will add that 4 members of my family own KIA vehicles and we all take them to Van Nuys to be serviced. Until now none of us have ever had a problem. I will reiterate that Jonathan, and previously Cesar and Veronica, were all exemplary in their manner and service, although Emir categorically stated that they were all three useless, and there was a reason why two of them no longer worked there! I can only say that HE is the reason that you are so short staffed, and will continue to be so if he remains the service manager. read more

Super cool and really listened to what we were looking for, We eventually found the car we were looking for and he spent nearly all day/night helping us situate the numbers and all. Very very patient guys and not pushy at all. That was my biggest thing during the purchase process is I hate to be harassed and he was the total opposite from that.
