Hardest working salesman they have and he's going to shoot it to you straight. My wife brought her 2022 Kia Niro plug and hybrid for basic service. Vehicle had 9700 miles. She was pressured and misled and told the car needed a myriad of services. She had a service coupon they told her it wouldn't apply. She asked about a lower tier service package. They told her the car HAD to have the major service package.The total bill was $628. This is an economy car that has no issues, there is no way that service should ever be up charge in that matter. They took advantage because my wife was a woman and she wasn't well informed on the services the car needed. When I went to the store to speak to the service manager he told me oh well that's not my problem she agreed to it goodbye. He basically told me I should have come with my wife to make sure she didn't get ripped off. Those are predatory practices and very inappropriate. Kia has a bad reputation for the dealership networks and even though they make really appealing cars this is a reason why I will never return to Kia after my lease is up. read more

The communication problem at this place is infuriating, and they accept way more cars for service than they can actually handle. I'm sure their sales department is decent -- they're the only division that consistently answers the phone. The main operator and the service department only answer the phone about once in every four attempts, and then they aren't able to help and forward you to a voicemail system that most of the time doesn't work. Even if you can leave a voicemail, or reach a human and request a call back, one will only come less than half of the time. When you do finally reach the correct rep, you'll find out nothing has been done as of yet, or the wrong thing, or somehow both, and be either given an ETA that is wildly inaccurate or a promise to call back with an update which, as I've said, will either not come or come very late. I dropped my car on Friday for Monday service. It was Wednesday night by the time I got through with the above odyssey, only to be told the feature they were "investigating" (against instructions) didn't exist. They were thinking of the wrong model vehicle. I'm now waiting for my car to be returned to me. At 9am, they promised it by 11am. It's 12:40pm now. Avoid unless you have no other option. read more

My car was towed in because it wouldn't start and has now been at this dealership for 8 days. Every time I call to get an update I'm on hold for at least 20 minutes or am transferred to a voicemail box where I leave a message. Nobody ever calls me back. I have a feeling they have no clue what's wrong with my car and no courtesy to let me know. In addition, when I initially had my car brought in, they would not take me home (shuttle, Uber, etc). I was told they only provide transportation within a 6 mile radius (I live 9 miles away) and this is the only Kia dealership anywhere remotely near me. read more

I purchased a 2021 Kia Sportage on Monday, and it was stolen 4 days later. They have no way of tracking the vehicle. When I told Jorge Guzman (the salesperson I purchased from) that my vehicle was just STOLEN and asked if they could track it, his word-for-word response was "no we do not"... THAT'S IT. I spent $17,500 at this dealership 4 days ago, and THAT's the level of care and professionalism that I was shown for my stolen vehicle. Absolutely ridiculous that these models are still able to be sold when they are so easily stolen. Avoid purchasing Kia's at all costs. read more

They had been calling and emailing me for months to turn my lease in early, and when we got there they had zero options for us except to pay off the rest of the lease before leasing another car. We went into the Van Nuys dealership thinking we wouldn't get anywhere either, but we happened to get Mousa and he said he could help us. He was knowledgable, communicative, and very nice. Update I found the picture of the cables that were "fixed" and the findings from the Arizona dealership conceding with my review. Me and my partner ended up spending over 2,000 on that short trip to Arizona just to get the car working properly again and so we could get back to our jobs.. Also we haven't had a problem with the car ever since. And everything we paid for when purchasing the car like the extra animates like car cleanings and detailing were a waist of money because the center was horrible at giving me an appointment or even having a person to go to at the establishment was impossible to find. read more

Another bad experience at Van Nuys Kia! Got a special offer for a oil change in the mail. The offer included oil change, filter, topping off fluids, rotate tires and car wash. I had an appointment at 9:15 AM, didn't get checked in till almost 10 AM. I was told it be finished in an hour and a half. Waited 2 1/2 hours before calling them and no answer. Called the second time a half hour later left a message and no callback. Called several more times with no callback. So, I decided to take my own Uber after no callback (was told they would get me a Lyft back to dealer). Finally got the car back and the car was still dirty and not washed after almost 5hrs. Not even sure if they actually did all the service offered in the special. I called back to speak to somebody after the poor service, just to be put on hold for 45 minutes. read more

I recently purchased my Kia Seltos at this location. I went to the Service Center to have my tire fixed (slow leak) and to have it detailed. My sales rep said he gave me 3 complimentary Details since it wasn't done prior to my taking possession. First, they claimed that my tire couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced. This would be the 2nd tire I've had to replace in the short time I've owned it. In addition, the check engine came on while driving over there. They said I'd have to leave my car overnight to have a diagnostic done, costing me $330. They offered me a ride home, but then said they would only take me 10 miles and I would have to Uber the rest of the way (I live in Tujunga). I asked to get a personal item out of the car before I left. After an hour of waiting, and customer rep not being anywhere around, I still didn't have access to my car. The service rep finally showed up, acting surprised that I was still there. I had called a friend to pick me up and he was waiting for me. The service rep went to get my car, but showed back up without it. I needed to leave. I had already been there for 2 1/2 hours. I started to leave when the service rep stopped me saying he had news. They didn't need to do the diagnostic, they found that the gas cap was loose. He said it would take another 2 hours 15 mins to put on a new tire and Detail it. I told him I had to leave and would pick up the car the next day. Within one hour he called me to say my car was ready. I just hung up. I was treated like I was a nuisance, like I was bothering them. I was extremely frustrated and angry. When I went the next day to pick up my car, there was a new tire on but it looked like the only thing they did was hose it off. The windshield was dirty, there were water spots all over and the interior was not even touched! I have never had a worse experience bringing in a car for a service. This was my first car purchase of a Kia. I had previously owned Honda and Toyota cars with never a problem with their service departments. I love my new Kia but regret buying it due to treatment I received at the Van Nuys Service Center. read more
