I purchased a used 2022 Kia EV6 in November of last year (2023) from this dealership. I want to start by saying the majority of my purchase process was pleasant and easy. My issues mostly came AFTER the purchase. Firstly, I was only given 1 key fob. I asked him why I was only getting one key instead of the normal 2, where he said they only give 1 key on used cars and that if I wanted to purchase another, I could do that. I told him I was not interested in purchasing another key, that I was under the impression it would come with 2, and that the paperwork I was given from the CPO inspection said there were 2. I was then told that to be a CPO vehicle, 2 keys were not necessary. I did one last double check of the car before leaving. Everything was looking great, but then I noticed, the cargo floor that usually comes with the EV6 was completely missing. This is the carpeted flooring of the trunk that is placed on top of the V2L adapter WHICH WAS ALSO MISSING! I asked him where those things were because when we checked out the car earlier, I never saw the charger, but I DID see the carpeted floor! He said he had no idea, and that the department that it was at to get ready had already closed. He told me that he would find out the following day where those items were, and he would have them shipped to me for free since I was far away. I asked him what happens if he can't find them?? He said "I'll talk to my manager, and we will order those 2 items brand new for you, and have them shipped to you". I told him that was fair, and thanked him and left! The next day, I never received a call... I called the dealer and asked for my salesperson, and was told he already went home. The next couple of days I was busy with work, and never got any calls. A week later, I called back and finally spoke with him. He said they were unable to locate the items that were missing. I told him, okay so we'll get them ordered? He said "my manager won't approve purchasing new items since it was a used car". I told him that was unacceptable and that they promised me those items. He told me that their used car manager said when they get another used ev6 in, they will take those items out of that vehicle, and ship me those. Again I chose to believe him, and said that was fine since I wasn't in dire need of those items at the moment anyway. For the next couple months I routinely checked their used inventory online. Finally 2 used EV6's popped up in their inventory. I called back and spoke to a manager about everything. They said they had never heard of this promise that was made to me, and they would never do something like this. I called my salesperson back again, and he said I spoke to the wrong manager, and that he would do this still. I said, "awesome, so you can ship these for me then?" He said "no no, you will have to come pick them up, they wouldn't approve shipping" WHAT?! I told him fine, I'll come in and get them. When I went in a couple of days later, I was presented with an invoice for these 2 items. Brand new from their website. I asked what this was... they said these were the parts "I requested to purchase"! I was so confused! They told me they would not give me items from another vehicle and that if I wanted them, I could purchase them brand new from their site and they would be delivered to my home. This is absolutely ridiculous! I've been toyed with for MONTHS now, and expected to purchase a $329.99 cargo floor, and $674.99 V2L connector! Over $1000 of accessories that COME WITH THE CAR! Not to mention a $400+ key that I never got either! I was asked almost immediately to post a review for their dealership, and when I told them I was going to mention this experience in my review they asked me to "hold off, until we can make it right" to give them a chance to fix this first. It's almost be a year now, and I've wasted hours and days trying to get this taken care of. I can take responsibility of not getting things in writing before I left, that's on me... but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. read more

Look elsewhere for service! Made an appointment 1.5 weeks in advance for diagnostic service on 2022 Forte GT. Dropped off on time for my appointment. Car sat for 2.5 days without being looked at. I had made inquiry calls twice a day since dropping it off. Never got one update from the dealer. Picked up the car to take it elsewhere. What does it even mean to have an appointment if the car is not looked at for multiple days? If they can't handle the load of service, they shouldn't take in more cars. Service managers at Kia Van Nuys, you need to make big changes. read more

Purchased a vehicle at the beginning of the year, unfortunately was involved in a car collision and it was a total loss. The problem was not with the purchase experience but rather the aftermath of warranty/services that were sold through this dealership and included in the contract. -First the service warranty that was purchased is (or so I found out after the matter) not provided by the actually company named in the signed contract. But rather another company. Which when speaking to finance at the dealership, nobody knows why it was written like that in the official contract. -Second, the GAP insurance company that they provided and included in the contract apparently "sucks" and they make things more difficult for customers with situations like mine. Again, the dealership introduced it, included in the contract that was signed at the dealership; but now that I actually need it according to their own words "yeah they suck, and keep giving customers problems". -Third, in order to use the GAP insurance that they introduce to me, I need to submit the documents that the insurance wants, and can only be obtained from the dealership. But you will send emails to no reply, call multiple times, different days and different times to no answer. And like me, get stuck in the middle between the dealership and the insurance company (that they decided to work with) playing a game of "he said, she said". So purchasing experience great, services, and any add-ons/companies they affiliate you with when you sign their contract ....don't trust. read more

What can I say... I've been a valued customer of Kia for the last 5 years. My wife and I both own Kias and never have we been disappointed with the service they provide to us every time we bring in our car in for maintenance. I myself own a 2021 Kia GT forte and let me tell you it's one of my favorite cars I've ever owned if not my favorite ever. My wife drives a Sorento but recently with gas prices skyrocketing we decided to see if we could possibly trade it in for something more gas efficient. I've always gotten great offers every time I bring in my cars for service but it wasn't until now that we've even considered trading in our suv. To be quite honest when I brought my Sorento in it wasn't in the best condition but to my surprise because my wife and I both have been loyal Kia customers they decided to just pay off the car in its current condition it was in, and was still able to give me some cash to use towards my down payment for new vehicle. I was helped by Manar, he definitely went above and beyond to make sure I felt satisfied and content before moving forward with any purchase or commitments. I am definitely a Kia customer for life! It's been my third time coming back to Kia for third vehicle and most likely the will come back if ever need a new car or trade in. Thank you Manar! read more

This place is everything that's wrong with car dealerships... and I've had it with them. First it was the service department padding their oil changes with ridiculous markup and snake oil line items. Then it was taking 4 VISITS to do a warranty replacement of minor trim pieces and 2 visits for a manufacturer recall (because they screwed up ordering parts multiple times on both issues). Then it was the sales side.... I brought my family in because their manager emailed me they had a Telluride SX-P that matched an online search I'd done. We came in, did the test drive, checked out the sticker... started negotiations. I was prepared to pay MSRP, all cash if necessary... and be their easiest sale of the week. This seemed reasonable since they claimed to have 25 Tellurides in stock. Then then had the AUDACITY to add a dealer markup of FIFTEEN THOUSAND over sticker, plus 2k+ of mandatory (and completely unnecessary) dealer add on worth a fraction of that. Let's do the math, shall we?? 55k MSRP +15k markup +2.5k nonsense, + 7.5% sales tax, +fees, tag, title ect... Nearly $80,000 FOR A KIA. You gotta be kidding me. Now... I know what you're thinking... "that's just where you START negotiations." Well... I employed a skilled auto broker with 20 years of experience to negotiate. He got us our last two cars at very reasonable prices (44k out the door for my '19 Stinger GT2), and even he was floored at the bad faith place they were starting these negotiations at. We could transport a Telluride in from out of state for cheaper than even their "Best and final" offer. So what Van Nuys Kia do? Did they level with me? Did they counter? Did they ditch their dealer addons? NOOOOOO... They went around my broker, called my personal cell and gave me some weak line about how 5k OVER MSRP + addons is the best offer their manager will give over the phone... but if I can come over in person they can give me their REAL offer. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I have a demanding job. I have little kids. Don't insult me and waste my time as you try to scam me out of my money. I can't remember a business that has filled me with such rage in my entire life. Seriously! It's 24 hours later and I'm still FURIOUS. And go ahead...check my other reviews. I'm not normally a hothead. I RARELY give negative reviews, but this place has certainly earned it. They're overplaying their hand on the sales side to the point of being offensive, and running their service department like something between a casino and a frat house. They've lost not only my new car business, but also the service business on my existing Kia as well. But who knows...maybe that's the game they're playing... maybe for every few customers they drive screaming into the night, there's some sap they can scam into paying 20% over sticker to make up for it. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Kia dealership in Glendale, or heck... even Cerritos because this place has the rare distinction of being more infuriating than sitting in L.A. traffic could ever be. read more

They quoted me an astronomical interest rate with tier 1 credit, when I got exactly half the amount elsewhere. Imagine what they do to those with average credit. 12/10 INCREDIBLE SERVICE!!! I have owned a Nissan Altima for 11 years and she finally died on me. I knew it was coming, but thought I had a bit more time. I am a single mother and self-employed doing delivery services. My daughter's school is a long commute daily. So I needed a new car and I needed one fast!! I did my research and knew I wanted a Kia. When I arrived at Kia Van Nuys I was immediately greeted by the receptionist and she very quickly brought over Charles to help me in my shopping. I had no idea how lucky I was to have Charles as my salesperson. He was so friendly right off the bat and offered waters, coffee, even a chai tea latte before we went to compare models. He showed me the model I was very interested in. He gave me a very thorough and efficient run down of all the features. Then after comparing a couple other models, I knew I wanted to test drive the Kia Sportage X Line so he grabbed the keys and we hit the road. He was so accommodating, helping show me the features first hand as we test drove. We laughed and had such a great joy ride around the area. After returning to the dealership, I let him know I was going to test drive at a couple other competing dealerships before I made my final decision. He shared his virtual business card with me and I said hopefully we will be back, well we definitely came back. I went to a few other competing dealerships so I could see in person the different models I had wanted to compare. The second we got to the next competing dealership, I felt immediately ready to go back to Charles at Kia. The competing dealership just didn't show me anywhere remotely the same attention or hospitality. I didn't get the inviting feeling or sales experience I had with Charles. So we drove right back to Charles at Kia Van Nuys and told him we were ready to talk numbers! He took customer service to a whole new level. I seriously could not be happier with my experience with Charles and the entire team. Everyone was so thorough, helpful, patient, and absolutely the kindest team around! The paperwork process was painless and quick. They were willing to work with me on numbers and we settled at a number I was very happy with! To take the experience even further, after shaking on our deal, myself and my partner got to hit the gong and Charles announced to the whole dealership a lovely announcement of congratulations! Then while I did the paperwork with the incredible manager, Charles took my new car to be detailed and washed. They filled the gas tank for me and made sure everything was perfect. And if that wasn't enough, after bringing my new baby around and giving me my keys, Charles brought out a huge red bow and took pictures for me and my partner to celebrate our new purchase! He sent a link with the absolute best photos and a video to commemorate the moment. The next day he was so accommodating with the drop off of my trade in. While we waited for a tow truck to take it off we chatted for 2 hours! The best part was that it felt like we had known Charles for years. It felt like chatting with a close friend, not a salesperson. The environment and team are just so inviting and there is zero intimidation factor. You really feel like family at Kia Van Nuys, and that is reflected tremendously in every staff member! We grabbed smoothies from a Maui Bros Smoothie truck, who visits this Kia dealership every Thursday. Which was just the icing on the cake after such a great purchasing process. Since leaving the lot with my new car Charles has been readily available to answer any question I have had. I truly can't say enough good things about Charles and the entire team. Service department. The wait is absolutely ridiculous. Got here at 9am. Was told it would be 2 to 2.5 hrs. It's 1:14pm. I had to inquire about when my car would be done. No one even had the courtesy to realize it was taking double the time and update me. I've now been here 4 hrs and 15 minutes and I'm still waiting. They typically go way over the time they tell you. Makes me want to get rid of my KIA and get something else just so I don't have to deal with the service hassle. It's also going to cost over $600 for service. Nothing significant just what the car needs. I'm over it. *update* Total time waiting was just under 5 hrs. They comped my service cost which is greatly appreciated. The issue is still there for me though. I do not want to deal with a horrible wait every time my car needs service. I have no explanation of why it took so long. 5 people arrived after I did and were gone before me. I know that every service appointment required different things but man... the communication failed today. read more

Entire process from test drive to buy in 2 hours. Would definitely buy from him again **Edit 10/2/24** - I've had my Kia Sportage for one month. There are less than 500 miles on it, and it almost completely lost power on the freeway, I nearly got hit as a result. Got lots of flashing lights about check the hybrid system. I've been trying to get a hold of someone at Kia Van Nuys service department and just getting the run around. Is this what Kia quality and service looks like? Rating downgraded from 5 stars to 1 star. **Edit 10/18/2024** - After finally getting the car towed to Kia Van Nuys on my own dime, since the person from Kia Roadside Assistance refused to tow the car, I've now had it in the service department for 2 weeks. Since then I've received absolutely no update, aside from the defects on my new car need to be reported to the manufacturer in case there are problems in other new cars. I tried calling the manager who left his number in a response to my review (on google reviews) but have not heard back from him yet. As of now, it sure seems like Kia of Van Nuys sold me a lemon, and it's like pulling teeth trying to figure out what's happening to it. In the mean time, they have not supplied me with a loaner car. Lastly, when I purchased the car their finance department incorrectly copied wiring instructions, and rather than notify me directly, their third party payment provider sent a random person with no affiliation to Kia Van Nuys to send me threatening texts and calls. It took me speaking to Kia Van Nuy's Finance Manager (who was great, very helpful and responsive) to resolve the conflict, but while it was happening it seemed like a scammer was just trying to steal personal information from me. All around, not a great experience. So far I certainly can't recommend anyone purchase a car here. If and when there's a resolution to my case I'll update my review and the number of stars I've given. Rating maintained at 1 star as of today. read more
