Car was dropped off at 7am for a road hazard tire issue. Not only did it take 12 hours to install a tire, I was charged $325 even though the tire was covered under a 1 year warranty . I've only had the car 6 months ! I'll be going to corporate on this , as they refused to sell me road hazard coverage on the NEW tire ! Unacceptable!!

Purchased a new 2026 Kia Carnival EX Hybrid from Kia Van Nuys on May 2, 2026. At delivery, I was told the second key would be mailed to me because the service department had already closed for the night. I was also promised a full set of all-weather floor mats as part of the purchase agreement. More than 11 days later, I still have not received either item. I have made multiple attempts to contact the salesperson and dealership, but have received little to no meaningful response or follow-up. Very disappointed with the post-sale customer service and communication.

I was charged $792 for a battery replacement on a 2023 Kia soul! Picture this: 1. Took the car to Kia Van Nuys because the collision alarm light would turn on while driving and the car would not respond once it was stopped. Picture and video were shown to the manager-Greg. 2. The car was dropped off on Wednesday and we were told to call Monday to check on it. It was Greg's day off and I couldn't reach anyone with update that day. 3. On the 11th, I was told the car was ready and that it was driven for 15min but no issue was detected. I picked up the car and nothing was done. 4. The very same day the car was picked it was giving the same issue and so I took the car in again, I believe on a Saturday. Greg the manager mentioned to call back Monday. Again, his day off! 5. On Tuesday we got a call from Greg saying it looks like it's a battery issue and that the total cost would be $450. Being that the car is under warranty I did not want to do it myself so I had to accept. 6. On Wednesday, me and Greg had a heated exchange over the phone since it was the second time the car was there, the second time he says to call on his day off and the fact that it's really weird that now it's a battery issue. Keep in mind the car was there a week before and no battery issue was brought up, never had any weak battery signs but that's on what Greg is focusing. 7. Saturday, the car is ready and I and get charged $792!!!! That is $400 for battery and $330 for the labor on the battery item (itemized in their bill). So not $450 like Greg said it would be, but almost $800 for a battery change. The other issue under warranty, no mention on the itemized bill... 8. After this, I called Kia Ventura and Kia van nuys to get an estimate for a Kia soul battery replacement. Parts and labor: Ventura: $295+$50 Van nuys: $350+$50 9. I also called another shop asking about the sensor issue to what they mention the following: You might have a dirty sensor.... Wash the car and disconnect the battery to eliminate errors. 10. I was upcharged an absurd amount by Kia but I was offered a complimentary car wash! So the car was washed and the battery replaced. Was the battery replacement necessary? I don't believe so. Never had any issue related to the battery and because the car was washed and the battery replaced, then the car errors related to the sensor that now was clean from the car wash, were eliminated. 11. Greg gave me an estimate above the normal and then charged me almost double of that amount for a battery replacement that was not necessary except to make sales! I was robbed at Kia van nuys service!

I do not recommend Kia Van Nuys at all. I bought my car exactly two months ago, and it was delivered with numerous issues from day one; the "check engine" light came on the very next day, and a door handle was missing. To this day, nothing has been resolved. I left the car there for two days, but when I went to pick it up, it was exactly the same they hadn't done a thing to it. When I went back, I was told it was no longer their responsibility and that I had to take it to the Van Nuys Kia Service Center. One of the employees told me it was my own fault for buying a pre-owned car, claiming those always turn out to be defective just like the one I received. I still haven't been offered any solution. I was supposed to be buying from a prestigious dealership, but there is nothing prestigious about them; it is unacceptable for them to sell damaged cars and then refuse to take responsibility.

wish I could give zero stars. Do not bring your car here if you care about it -- especially if you've already prepaid. My car was barely used, yet it feels like they didn't even bother to change the oil. The oil was still dark, which makes it obvious nothing was done. On top of that, the package I paid for included a tire rotation, and they didn't do that either. So what exactly did I pay for? This is careless, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. You're charging people for services you're not even performing. I will not be coming back, and I strongly recommend others stay away.

I was struggling to pay the parking meter when Manar Ali, a salesperson, came to talk to me. We started talking && never have I felt so comfortable. The easiest experience where the entire team at Van Nuys (special shoutout to the GM, Arnold) made it possible for me to get the car I wanted on my terms. The service advisor representative Arno Babajanian is very unprofessional and rude. I came to drop my wife's car for an oil change and waiting in the lobby for 15-20 minutes and wasn't even acknowledged as most of the service advisors were either chatting or eating. I approached him to ask for assistance and all he said in a rude way was "it is not in my control" I am not available to help you. The other representative Greg Minanian after hearing him say that approached to assist us with our service. Kia's are horrible cars along with the service department. Best services are Lexus, Infiniti, and Audi from my past experiences never getting a car from Kia again better off taking a bus or bicycle.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP IT IS RUN BY THUGS We arrived at the dealership at about 5pm on Sat Aug 10. I give the time because what happened to us was probably recorded on their security tapes, so there's evidence. Their parking lot is very, very small and crowded. We were stopped waiting for a spot to open when someone squeezed by us in a vehicle to take a spot. I got out of my car to let them know we were waiting for a spot and the driver said, "Don't worry about it, I work here." No apology, only arrogance. I knew that there was no resolution, I went and got back into my car. As we were trying to park, the driver of the vehicle approached my car, I rolled down the window and said, I said "I do not want to talk to you, go away." Whereupon, the driver and his passenger started calling us names and threatening us. I got out of the car and was immediately surrounded by a group of thugs, all employees, all male, all threatening me. The driver of the car put his hands on me and pushed me. We had to leave the lot. So we took our 812 credit rating and decided that a this dealership does not deserve the business of customers who want to feel safe. read more

Kia van Nuys Service department They are the worst, don't even think about getting close to them. They will try to scam you and try to throw you some repairs that you don't need in order to fill up their wallet. Absolute worst service dept. I must admit - I LOVE my 2017 Sportage but I would never buy a KIA again (at least in SoCal) because every dealer service center is awful - but the crowning achievement is Van Nuys Kia. Overcharge, bait and switch, lie about work done or needing to be done. Told me to pick up my car after 5 days to work on the air conditioning and when I arrived it hadn't been done - in fact, they couldn't even find my work order or car. When I demanded my car back, it took them 30 minutes to locate and it was obvious it was still dismantled. They wanted to charge me for work undone so I would being it back and they could finish it when they hadn't;t started. Talked then out of that, but the joke was on me because I discovered a week later they hadn't reinstalled all of the bolts on one of my wheels and kept the wheel lock! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Two and a half year later I'm updating my review. It's dropping from 5 stars down to 1. After all this time I have a good grasp on how Kia operates. To begin, check their employee retention rate. I've been there longer than all their service reps. I can say, they train them well. They do so because they need people who could cover up all their faults. Two days after spending almost $1500 on service, my hybrid battery went bad. I brought it in for a diagnosis which took 3-4 days (not an issue). However, following that, they kept my car for over 2 months! They didn't provide a timeline. 3 weeks later I didn't even have an update because of the "influx on vehicles." I wasnt given a rental, loaner or any assistance with having transportation while my vehicle was there. I was told I could pick it up and continue to drive it until I was ready to leave it but what comfort does that leave me when I commute and its a battery issue. I received my first update after calling customer care. However, that was all customer care was good for. Over the time, I contacted customer care 4 times and they were unable to assist me or provide any updates as well. I got the run around and back and forth between the dealership and customer support because they didnt have direct contact with one another, they had to send emails themselves. How professional! Long story short. I received my car over 2 months later. I learned to take the train since they didnt update or assist me with any other options. I received my car with screws and pieces on the bottom of the driver's seat pedal (Im still waiting on a response as to what it is and if it should be a concern but of course its nothing they want to deal with) AND customer support FINALLY called me back, over a month AFTER I called them and AFTER I picked my car up. They also mentioned reimbursement for a car rental......you know, the option I was NEVER given. This was frustrating and sad. Im tempted to post text messages, pictures and emails but at this point I just dont want to deal with Kia any more. Little do they know that I was in the market to go full electric. I looked into the EV6 and EV9 with them months prior to bringing my car in. Im still looking into another car but I will 100000% pass on that with Kia. Time to shop around for something better. read more

*1-19 gm conversation Bought a new car with them but I'm pretty sure I got massively ripped off with some of their "optional products". $599 for 3M edge guard.. Which I could get for less than $20. I expect dealers to be scummy but come on now. I just find it sad that I have to work twice as hard during a pandemic just to be charged quadruple the amount for things deemed optional. *post conversation with general manager* I was told that the price was for a lifetime warranty and should not be expecting charges for such things such as paint scratches when i bring it in to service.. Will update if I ever use these services and will post a bill to see if their word isn't full of crap. read more

Don't waste your time and money coming here! I came here for a recall and quick coolarepair. They called me saying it would be $1,000 for the repair including the labor and parts. Then, they called me the day after and said they couldn't even give me my car the same day. So I had to UBER it to work the following day. Then when they called me to say the car was almost done they said it would not be $1000 but instead $1800. They just jacked up the price by almost double! When I went to talk to the service manager Ismael Barragán he said that they would try to work with me if I gave them few days for them to talk to the guy that lied to me over the phone. It's been 2 weeks and I paid the full amount they charged me, and now they are ghosting me. The service manager is just as useless as their customer service. I'm still waiting for a call back that will never happen. I just regret not taking my car to the other Kia dealer in Simi Valley. Those guys are professional not like these thief's over here! read more

If you are looking to buy a new car, this dealership is the place to come. I came here to purchase two new vehicles, one for me and one for my husband. JJ assisted us with both purchases, he was very knowledgeable answered every question promptly, he made sure that we left with our dream vehicles for the best price! He then took the time out of his day to go over every feature on both vehicles and in a timely manner. Saif, in the finance department made the finance part of buying the car super enjoyable (who says that when they are buying a car?) lol. He was very personable and made the entire process super fast. We came in as customers and left feeling like a part of a family. As i said before i cannot recommend this dealership enough, do yourself a favor and COME HERE for your next car. Let's Talk about Service, Y'all. I looked online for a plugin hybrid and found something great on the Kia Website. Instead of a chatBot, I got a real person - Cynthia - who was patient and rescheduled with me THREE times after covid and an unexpected funeral changed my plans. Then, when I arrived, Daniel Ibarra took over (he's the Dude!) and I explained after the test drive that I can't buy the car unless I can show my husband it fits in our small driveway. So he got the head manager Sunny to give the go ahead to drive to my garage and...it didn't fit! ...until...Daniel helped me & my husband move things out of the way and then it DID fit in the garage! And THEN, when I went to buy it, Kia's Finance guy RJ set me up with the new Digital License Plate ...and REALLY worked with me to make my payments process run smoothly. You GOTTA SEE THIS digital signing pad they have! All in all the Team here gave me a great deal on my trade in, introduced me to the service center, and held my hand the entire way. The whole process was shorter than buying an upgrade on an iPhone! I am SOLD! read more

They are liars and will say anything to make a deal. I bought a car, asked if it was owned by a smoker and they said no. Come to find out later in the summer, the cigarette smell became stronger. The tires are inflated with some special nitrous stuff and they said that I could have it filled at the dealership near where I lived. It's an extra fee. Not true. I live 40 min away from this Kia dealership which is a hassle to go to. I won't bore you with the other stuff they lied about just go to another dealership. Stay away from this one. read more

I am very pleased with my experience at Kia in Van Nuys. My salesman, Tariq, was was open, honest and personable. As a female buyer, I was guarded, but as soon as he realized I knew what I wanted and my price point, he did everything he could to help me get the car of my choice. By the end of the process, we were laughing like old friends. Ali was fair in his negotiations of the car price and went out of his way to find me the best financing option. Ramon made signing the contract quick and easy. I did NOT enjoy the 45+ minutes spent on trying to get me to purchase additional warranties and then asking me why I had said no. I found that part to be intrusive and exhausting. I probably said no six different times. But, I won't hold that against the employees I worked with because they got me the exact car I wanted at the exact price I wanted. Overall, I highly recommend this dealership. Also, they definitely have more inventory than advertised online. read more

Whenever I have a question I can still text Abby, after owning the car for a year, and she responds right away! Ruben in the service department is amazing. The fiascos from this dealership are never ending, and I advise everybody to steer clear. First and foremost, this dealership took my money and illegally sold me the car. Only after two months, when I contacted them asking when I should expect to receive my registration, did they contact me telling me the car was never smogged. This is 100% illegal in the state of California, and means they didn't do the basics for prepping this car for resale. Even when we bought it, the pushy salesman manager told us "We just got this car in you're going to love", meaning they most likely got the car and flipped it before they could inspect it properly. Secondly, the car was sold to me without basic maintenance done and I was misinformed that it was fully touched up. We were even told after purchasing it that they were detailing the car, and driving home the windshield and inside screens in the car were smudged and smeared from a hasty, sloppy wipe down. Less than 3 weeks after receiving my registration and title, when I legally now owned the car, the car died 4 hours away from home on a big trip. I had the car in my possession for less than 3 months and put just over 1,000 miles on it in that time. It turns out, the car never had oil added to it, the oil light didn't work on the dashboard, and now it needs a new engine. I was dealing with a lower level manager for the past few weeks, and I was told someone from upper management would handle my situation. The dealership it was towed to did an inspection and it was found the lack of oil caused the engine failure, and there were no signs of leaks or excessive burning of oil found. I've been ignored and had zero contact since I was told this. Had the dashboard lights been working, I would have quickly caught the lack of oil and topped it off. Had the dealership topped off the fluids as they lied to me about having done, I wouldn't have had this issue. There are no leaks in my garage, there were no leaks found in the inspection, just a seized engine. The salesmen lied through their teeth about the maintenance done, selling a shoddy car illegally and praying I wouldn't notice the car didn't belong to me for a majority of the time I've had it. It's very clear this dealership isn't doing the basic upkeep or maintenance on their cars before selling them. Not smogging the car and waiting 2 months for me to contact them is a serious red flag. They were happy pocketing my money and not contacting me when the DMV refused the title change. They clearly have no concern for the customer, and I say again: Shop elsewhere or deal with the 6-week long headache I've had with them (so far). EDIT: I'm putting this in solely in a response to the comment left by Brianna. I have contacted Arnold Gonsalves directly, he's hiding from me. He responded briefly to an e-mail I said saying he would reach out to me, and so far nothing has been done. It's been 5 weeks without my car and I literally have no idea what's going on. I was told to not begin the repair process, but nobody seems to want to start it. It's now July, the weather is hot, and the company that illegally sold me a car now seems content in having me ride a bike to work in the summer heat because they already got my money. I'm steps away from seeking legal action at this point because this company is an absolute scam and should not be operating. I have already been informed I have strong legal ground, but I'm trying to handle this reasonably. So again, heed my advice: Buy elsewhere or lawyer up. read more

"} One of the worst dealership experiences I've had. From the very beginning, the service felt off--my wife wasn't even greeted, which says a lot about their basic level of respect. We noticed the attitude right away and almost walked out, but since we were genuinely ready to lease a car, we decided to move forward anyway. We weren't just browsing. We test drove the car, went to their storage lot twice to check inventory, sat in multiple vehicles, and even had the exact car we wanted brought to the dealership. We had already started the credit check process, so it was very clear we were serious buyers. Despite all that, the experience kept getting worse. The overall environment didn't feel professional or customer-focused at all, and my wife was uncomfortable the entire time. Then, right when we were about to finalize the lease, everything went sideways. I made a simple request to move forward with confidence, and the manager abruptly said they had another appointment and didn't have time. They even said they needed to go have breakfast--at 11 AM--while we were still in the middle of closing the deal. What's even more concerning is that all of this behavior came from the manager, which really makes you question how this place is run. When I said I wasn't comfortable continuing like that, I was told, very bluntly: "Move on." At that point, I walked away and did not buy the car. After investing that much time and clearly showing we were serious, the level of disrespect at the end made no sense. That's the part I still can't understand. Angelina Moreno unqualified to be manager .I find it more than ridiculous that a huge service Center hiring an unqualified manager with no judgement with no skills to be the manage of such a big facility, I wouldn't let that person to manage a crew of two people. I had a bad experience with the service manager Angelica Moreno. I purchased Kia EV9 less then a year ago and the charging cable stopped working, I called and I've been told to bring the charger they're gonna inspect and repair or replace if needed, what I didn't know that I was supposed to leave my car for four or five days in order to inspect the charging cable which not connected to the car, everything is perfect with my car. The problem is in the cable which under warranty . Without offering a replacement car, , the day is Friday, July 3 day before fourth of July, they wanted to leave me without a car no replacement car in order to fix the cable when there is nothing wrong with the car. I find it more than ridiculous, and I found a manager that probably can sit maybe at the reception is she definitely don't have a judgement in order to understand or to inspect the cable for two minutes and just take care of the cable instead of leaving the car for five days. Bottom of Line not recommended. I really recommend them to get rid of the joke manager. Do not use this service Center . read more

I walked in with my friend and was starting the "looking for a new car process." Saleswoman was very pushy. Seemed to be in a very bad mood. We were both well dressed and thought we were being polite, but wow not sure what was happening at this place. Does everyone going into a dealership have to actually buy a car? We were very clear about just looking. Not sure why we were treated this way. We then went up Van Nuys Boulevard and checked out two other dealerships, Chevy and Hyundai. They were very understandable that we were not in the market today at these two places. Kia seems like a good car but that woman really was rude and no car is worth being treated like that. Just really unprofessional I mean, good grief, she works in a service industry. My advice would be to not go to Van Nuys Kia if you do not want to be bullied for not wanting to buy that day. Just a really bad experience. Glad to have found actual nice people at Chevy and Hyundai. I still want a Kia but will definitely not go back to Van Nuys Kia. Will probably drive all the way to Glendale or Santa Clarita. It stinks because I live and work in Sherman Oaks. I am a small business owner. Would've liked to just gone up the street from my place and bought a car but there is no way I would ever go back to Van Nuys Kia. Wish there was a zero stars option for this review. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Van Nuys Kia. The salesperson, George, and the manager, Hossein, were extremely unprofessional and wasted over two and a half hours of my time. I originally came in for a scheduled recall service appointment. I was told that I wouldn't need to wait for the service because they could get me into another vehicle. I test-drove a 2023 Lexus and was genuinely interested in purchasing it. They ran both my credit and my daughter's credit and kept us waiting for more than an hour and a half. After all that time, they sent us home claiming the bank decision was still pending and promised they would call us back. They never called, never followed up, and never provided any updates. Based on how the situation was handled, I believe they were not honest with us and may have had another buyer for the vehicle. If that was the case, they should have been upfront instead of wasting our time. Because of this process, I also missed the service appointment I had originally scheduled. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy was unacceptable. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this dealership think twice. C**thia will lie to you about having a car on the lot. She will lure you in wth a price quote. She will call you in the morning of your appointment confirming price and car. 23 minutes before your appointment, she will text you that the bait car is sold. You are already there when you see the message. She will not come out of her office telling her little baby gangsta crew out to ask you if you want a more expensive model. They will mean mug you telling you they were the ones who sold the car and you should buy the more expensive model. She will never come out to apologize. Her crew of miscreants who sag their pants like they are in juvenile hall will C walk away from you making noises like "PSHHHT Pshhht, whatever homie." I came in a customer and now I am a "homie?" There weren't even chairs in the waiting room. Me vs. five of the homies as I walked out and went up the street to the Subaru dealer and their sales team sold me a brand new car for a fair price and they were really nice to me. F.U. Kia I will tell everybody I know about this and I hope to detour at least one person a year from buying a car from you. read more

This review is specifically for their service department.Terrible experience. I never had such a bad experience on my life with a dealership. No one answer you correctly . Always keep you on hold for so long and then they have no answer. They released my car last week from the service. My car was covered by dust inside and out, seat was touched by greasy hand prints, they left dirty greasy box in my trunk. They dirty the trunck carpet, but they mentioned on their receipt complementary car wash !!! Never can duplicate the issue. I have safety issue on my car they can not even bother to see my video that I took during the incident. They ask you to leave a car for 10 days and expect you to walk around the town with no car. They recommend to get the rental car and Kia will pay for it, which it is not absolutely true. I paid about 500 dollars for rental car to leave my car in their shop to not be able find the issue and return it with dust. I never recommend this dealership to any one. I rather drive far to use another one. Big mistake I made by my car purchase and chose a dealership. read more

Sheisters. Under no circumstances would I ever refer anyone to this dealership which, btw, had to abandon its place down the street because of bad community sentiment. It literally moved one block up the way and re-branded itself Kia of Van Nuys. We ultimately bought at Kia of DTLA, but if that's too far for you, the Glendale Kia is GIGANTIC and has an ENORMOUS inventory, as compared to this place. The reasons we walked out of this business is the dishonesty of the salesmen and their refusal to honor their promise to agree to the True Car price. DTLA Kia or whatever it's called did honor it and Glendale was prepared to, also, though we got the better deal overall in Downtown LA. We wish one star wasn't an option for these guys. And drive-by and see the lack of activity at their new location. You will rarely see anyone there and the salesmen are usually lounging around, checking their phones and not dressed professionally. Watch out especially for the sales manager guy with the Brit accent and the sales guy who keeps flashing a photo of Angela Lansbury. read more
