When it came time for my service, the third-party company was giving me a hard time about using it in my home state. Ishmael and Amee took the time to work with me, get on the phone with the third-party company, and make it work so that I was able to get my service with no out-of-pocket charge. I will definitely continue coming here for all of my service needs. Not only were they super helpful and super patient, but they made for good conversation too, while we figured this out. Purchased a vehicle at the beginning of the year, unfortunately was involved in a car collision and it was a total loss. The problem was not with the purchase experience but rather the aftermath of warranty/services that were sold through this dealership and included in the contract. -First the service warranty that was purchased is (or so I found out after the matter) not provided by the actually company named in the signed contract. But rather another company. Which when speaking to finance at the dealership, nobody knows why it was written like that in the official contract. -Second, the GAP insurance company that they provided and included in the contract apparently "sucks" and they make things more difficult for customers with situations like mine. Again, the dealership introduced it, included in the contract that was signed at the dealership; but now that I actually need it according to their own words "yeah they suck, and keep giving customers problems". -Third, in order to use the GAP insurance that they introduce to me, I need to submit the documents that the insurance wants, and can only be obtained from the dealership. But you will send emails to no reply, call multiple times, different days and different times to no answer. And like me, get stuck in the middle between the dealership and the insurance company (that they decided to work with) playing a game of "he said, she said". So purchasing experience great, services, and any add-ons/companies they affiliate you with when you sign their contract ....don't trust. read more

Absolute worst service dept. I must admit - I LOVE my 2017 Sportage but I would never buy a KIA again (at least in SoCal) because every dealer service center is awful - but the crowning achievement is Van Nuys Kia. Overcharge, bait and switch, lie about work done or needing to be done. Told me to pick up my car after 5 days to work on the air conditioning and when I arrived it hadn't been done - in fact, they couldn't even find my work order or car. When I demanded my car back, it took them 30 minutes to locate and it was obvious it was still dismantled. They wanted to charge me for work undone so I would being it back and they could finish it when they hadn't;t started. Talked then out of that, but the joke was on me because I discovered a week later they hadn't reinstalled all of the bolts on one of my wheels and kept the wheel lock! NEVER AGAIN! read more

I purchased a new car from Farooq at Kia Van Nuys. He was great - responsive, answered all the questions I had, and didn't BS with the manager back and forth. Entire process from test drive to buy in 2 hours. Would definitely buy from him again **Edit 10/2/24** - I've had my Kia Sportage for one month. There are less than 500 miles on it, and it almost completely lost power on the freeway, I nearly got hit as a result. Got lots of flashing lights about check the hybrid system. I've been trying to get a hold of someone at Kia Van Nuys service department and just getting the run around. Is this what Kia quality and service looks like? Rating downgraded from 5 stars to 1 star. **Edit 10/18/2024** - After finally getting the car towed to Kia Van Nuys on my own dime, since the person from Kia Roadside Assistance refused to tow the car, I've now had it in the service department for 2 weeks. Since then I've received absolutely no update, aside from the defects on my new car need to be reported to the manufacturer in case there are problems in other new cars. I tried calling the manager who left his number in a response to my review (on google reviews) but have not heard back from him yet. As of now, it sure seems like Kia of Van Nuys sold me a lemon, and it's like pulling teeth trying to figure out what's happening to it. In the mean time, they have not supplied me with a loaner car. Lastly, when I purchased the car their finance department incorrectly copied wiring instructions, and rather than notify me directly, their third party payment provider sent a random person with no affiliation to Kia Van Nuys to send me threatening texts and calls. It took me speaking to Kia Van Nuy's Finance Manager (who was great, very helpful and responsive) to resolve the conflict, but while it was happening it seemed like a scammer was just trying to steal personal information from me. All around, not a great experience. So far I certainly can't recommend anyone purchase a car here. If and when there's a resolution to my case I'll update my review and the number of stars I've given. Rating maintained at 1 star as of today. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP IT IS RUN BY THUGS We arrived at the dealership at about 5pm on Sat Aug 10. I give the time because what happened to us was probably recorded on their security tapes, so there's evidence. Their parking lot is very, very small and crowded. We were stopped waiting for a spot to open when someone squeezed by us in a vehicle to take a spot. I got out of my car to let them know we were waiting for a spot and the driver said, "Don't worry about it, I work here." No apology, only arrogance. I knew that there was no resolution, I went and got back into my car. As we were trying to park, the driver of the vehicle approached my car, I rolled down the window and said, I said "I do not want to talk to you, go away." Whereupon, the driver and his passenger started calling us names and threatening us. I got out of the car and was immediately surrounded by a group of thugs, all employees, all male, all threatening me. The driver of the car put his hands on me and pushed me. We had to leave the lot. So we took our 812 credit rating and decided that a this dealership does not deserve the business of customers who want to feel safe. read more

Two and a half year later I'm updating my review. It's dropping from 5 stars down to 1. After all this time I have a good grasp on how Kia operates. To begin, check their employee retention rate. I've been there longer than all their service reps. I can say, they train them well. They do so because they need people who could cover up all their faults. Two days after spending almost $1500 on service, my hybrid battery went bad. I brought it in for a diagnosis which took 3-4 days (not an issue). However, following that, they kept my car for over 2 months! They didn't provide a timeline. 3 weeks later I didn't even have an update because of the "influx on vehicles." I wasnt given a rental, loaner or any assistance with having transportation while my vehicle was there. I was told I could pick it up and continue to drive it until I was ready to leave it but what comfort does that leave me when I commute and its a battery issue. I received my first update after calling customer care. However, that was all customer care was good for. Over the time, I contacted customer care 4 times and they were unable to assist me or provide any updates as well. I got the run around and back and forth between the dealership and customer support because they didnt have direct contact with one another, they had to send emails themselves. How professional! Long story short. I received my car over 2 months later. I learned to take the train since they didnt update or assist me with any other options. I received my car with screws and pieces on the bottom of the driver's seat pedal (Im still waiting on a response as to what it is and if it should be a concern but of course its nothing they want to deal with) AND customer support FINALLY called me back, over a month AFTER I called them and AFTER I picked my car up. They also mentioned reimbursement for a car rental......you know, the option I was NEVER given. This was frustrating and sad. Im tempted to post text messages, pictures and emails but at this point I just dont want to deal with Kia any more. Little do they know that I was in the market to go full electric. I looked into the EV6 and EV9 with them months prior to bringing my car in. Im still looking into another car but I will 100000% pass on that with Kia. Time to shop around for something better. read more

Don't waste your time and money coming here! I came here for a recall and quick coolarepair. They called me saying it would be $1,000 for the repair including the labor and parts. Then, they called me the day after and said they couldn't even give me my car the same day. So I had to UBER it to work the following day. Then when they called me to say the car was almost done they said it would not be $1000 but instead $1800. They just jacked up the price by almost double! When I went to talk to the service manager Ismael Barragán he said that they would try to work with me if I gave them few days for them to talk to the guy that lied to me over the phone. It's been 2 weeks and I paid the full amount they charged me, and now they are ghosting me. The service manager is just as useless as their customer service. I'm still waiting for a call back that will never happen. I just regret not taking my car to the other Kia dealer in Simi Valley. Then, when I arrived, Daniel Ibarra took over (he's the Dude!) and I explained after the test drive that I can't buy the car unless I can show my husband it fits in our small driveway. So he got the head manager Sunny to give the go ahead to drive to my garage and...it didn't fit! ...until...Daniel helped me & my husband move things out of the way and then it DID fit in the garage! And THEN, when I went to buy it, Kia's Finance guy RJ set me up with the new Digital License Plate ...and REALLY worked with me to make my payments process run smoothly. You GOTTA SEE THIS digital signing pad they have! All in all the Team here gave me a great deal on my trade in, introduced me to the service center, and held my hand the entire way. They are liars and will say anything to make a deal. I bought a car, asked if it was owned by a smoker and they said no. Come to find out later in the summer, the cigarette smell became stronger. The tires are inflated with some special nitrous stuff and they said that I could have it filled at the dealership near where I lived. It's an extra fee. Not true. I live 40 min away from this Kia dealership which is a hassle to go to. I won't bore you with the other stuff they lied about just go to another dealership. Stay away from this one. read more
