*Always with the add-ons* Saw an ad on YouTube for a $15K Kia Forte. Decided to email and ask for one with no accessories. I received a response telling me to come in for a test drive. When I arrived at the dealership I was met by a salesman (not the one I had an appointment with) and we went over what I was trying to get today. I explained and he told me he'd look into. He came back and informed me that the vehicle was on their lot in Sun Valley and was about 30 minutes away (as opposed to their lot 3 minutes away?) I thought this was strange but shrugged it off. He also informed me that the vehicle would come with accessories installed for a total of $2,596. He explained that because they had offered so much of a discount at the dealer level they had to make money somewhere else. If you're wondering about the accessories they included : -Nitrogen filled tires -Elo GPS tracking - And a 7 year paint protection contract Look, I get it. We all need to make money. But maybe don't advertise a vehicle price and fail to mention an extra almost $3K on overpriced/ gimmick accessories. *In Response to Business Response* I appreciate your response and respect your companies right to price vehicles how you chose. However, the issue here is your ad specifically listed the items not included in the advertised pricing. "All advertised prices exclude government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any dealer document processing charge, any electronic filing charge, and any emission testing charge." Seems like an awfully specific list to conveniently leave off something that will run you almost $3,000 more. read more

I finally was convinced to come in because they had the car I was looking for. Maggie did a beautiful job negotiating the price, and we had a deal. I was going to write a review...but I already wrote an email that pretty much says it, so here it is. * * * * * * I'm so frustrated about what happened tonight...especially after being reassured that a specific car was there for us to see. I get that things happen, but at least a phone call that the car had been sold would've been great. A text. An email. We had an expensive babysitting evening spent in traffic to only be told that as an apology, if a car was found in the next couple days, the markup would be cut from $10,000 to $5,000. I haven't spoken to a single dealership that's charging over $5,000. We chose to come to you over other dealerships because of our communication and then we left without a car and stunned that we'd been treated like we were idiots. I know missing out on our single car purchase won't affect your success this year, but I have to go to work tomorrow and explain to my boss and staff (who had to cover for me because I left early to get to Van Nuys) why I don't have a new car. I decided for a few reason's, that I won't get into, that I wanted to buy a car straight out with cash so that I wouldn't have car payments. The challenge with that is that I needed something affordable, reliable, and has the accessories/features that I need. I was convinced that I was going to have to buy a used car that was a few years old which worried me as I was concerned about warranty and reliability. With the arrival of the 2022 Kia's I found a brand new 2021 Kia Forte LXS in my price range that met all my requirements (plus it was an amazing blue color that I didn't know I needed in my life until I saw it) on cars.com. I looked all over at Kia car inventories from different sites and let me tell you, Van Nuys Kia by far had the most cars in stock. From the time I called and spoke to Susie who guaranteed me I could have the online price, until I went in and was greeted by reception (I'm sorry I can't remember her name!) then spoke to Ray, I felt well taken care of. Ray explained all the features, took me for a test drive, and went to his manager at least three times to make sure I had a price that would work for me. I respect a salesperson who is obviously going to bat for you. Even finance was nice and easy to work with. I had a good experience with both Art and Jhojon. The shadiest of business practices. I worked with a seemingly nice enough "new guy" Moussa and a rotund, arrogant "floor manager" who I believe was named Luis. After giving a firm time by which I needed to leave (plus 15 min and 5 min warnings which was probably my bad and allowed them the opportunity...), these unethical folks decided it would be ok to BLOCK my car in to try to detain me. Did they really think THAT would change my mind and get the sale? They delayed and delayed getting me the "numbers" I was promised would be ready the moment I returned from a test drive as I was walking out to go on said test drive. Moussa also tried tricking me into running my credit when no permission was given or request granted. He was using the information from my drivers license (asked for it again and again!) even though he'd already made a copy of it. I left my phone number and email address to be followed up with (before discovering I'd been blocked in upon trying to leave!) for the "numbers" and they were never provided, seemingly out of spite for not being willing to spend more than 3 hours there. The cherry on top of all their nerve was sending out a finance guy to "chat" with me about my intentions with my leased vehicle (which they already had asked and knew!) while I had to WAIT for them to "find someone" to move the car they blocked me in with. Don't do it, especially not alone, ladies. Shady as they come. Should have called the police! read more

While I was gone, they ran a hard inquiry on my credit score without telling me and without my authorization. This affected my credit score. They didn't even answered my request to cancel the inquiry. We weren't buying with them, they could have ran a light inquiry or wait for me to know my credit score.
