I bought my car here a few months ago and the salesman's name was Farooq. He was patient and facilitated all my questions. I even attempted to walk out during the sell but he worked with me & we got a deal done. Since then he's been a text msg away & I could reach out to him for anything car related no problem. I went in for service a few weeks ago & I needed to a replace a piece on my car that was part of a package that Kia didn't sell normally. Brain that works in parts informed me that the piece wouldn't be easy to get a hold of but he was going to see what he could do. I was ready to buy the piece online or from somewhere else but Brian worked it out for me & managed to get the piece & give it to me free of charge! With Farooq's help Brian was able to locate the piece & they hooked me up & I'm truly thankful to the both of them. Umer Farooq is the BEST!!! The big downfall is I didn't notice the car I had purchased registration had been expired for 6 months. They charged me for the full years worth of registration, which I again had to pay (for another full year) only 6 months later. Since they already had my money and I didn't realize this mistake until I received the registration in the mail, I tried reaching out to Delmy (Finance Manager) and Angeline (Customer Relations Manager) and they found no fault that I paid the 6 month's registration from when the dealership had the car and let it expire. I was given the wrong information at the time of purchase, when I questioned the expired registration, and was told it would be good for a full year. Pay attention to your paperwork and if they give you a verbal answer, get it in writing so the same thing doesn't happen to you. If you love a good scam then I highly recommend this dealership. Went online, found a car that fit the budget for my family, drove 45 minutes to get there, test drove the Kia Telluride, we liked it, awesome, let's go in And talk some numbers. They came back with a price that was over 10,000 of the sticker price AND the price online! Why? Oh because they said Kia puts a premium on all the tellurides because they are in such high demand... well, no Kia didn't put that premium on the car, the dealership did. They come back and have us the ol " let me see what we can do" game and they basically just tried to hide the premium somewhere else... my husband and I are accountants... so umm that's not going to work. They wanted over $1100... to lease a Kia. You could go and lease a luxury brand car for less! Than when called out on it the salesman said "well, we have to make money because of Covid..." absolutely laughable. There are over 28 Tellurides sitting in their lot, INCLUDING the one we looked at and we're prepared to take home if they just took off the $10,000 that they tried to be sneaky with. I have to correct my previous review in regards to their warranty and service department. We bought a certified pre-owned KIA Forte 2020 with 33,000 miles from KIA Van Nuys in November 2022. We also purchased the Wrap around PLATINUM service contract. The car has now only 40,000 miles on it, is primarily parked in a garage and we live in Santa Monica were the climate is temped. The window seals had totally disintegrated and it is obvious that substandart materials had been used. When contacting KIA Van Nuys about this issue I was given the run around on the phone, being transferred several times and ended up in the finance department. I was told to contact KIA Corporate. They showed zero interest in getting involved. I was also given the wrong information that this kind of break down was not under warranty and was cosmetic. I did contact KIA Corpoate and when I told them about the lack of service at the Van Nuys branch, I was told to go and show the car to KIA Santa Monica. They were great in comparison and took care of the repairs under warranty. I also noticed after the purchase that the KIA Forte spare tire kit was missing in the car sold to us as a Certified pre-ownded automobile. This is kind of an important part in a car that does not come with a spare tire. In retrospect Van Nuys Kia was a big dissapointement. read more

This review is for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. ** If I could I would give the service department zero stars** I took my car to get checked for a noise it started to make after I took it in for maintenance. My appointment was on a Friday. My car was not looked at. The service advisor, Bobby Hernandez asked if my car can stay there so that they can check it the next day which was Saturday. Bobby was unreliable. He did not call me Saturday to give me any updates about my car. I had to call him and leave him messages requesting updates on my vehicle. There was absolutely no communication. My car sat there all weekend long and it was during Labor Day weekend. I was inconvenienced, left without a vehicle for four days. I called Tuesday and still did not get a call. I finally decided to go and get my car! This lack of communication is unacceptable. I will be filing a report with the regional manager, corporate, and the BBB. They need to be aware of the lack of customer service their service department has ! I am not the only one who has complained about their service. This seems to be a problem with other unsatisfied customers too ! read more

I was looking to lease a new EV. Making an appointment online was super easy. I came in the same afternoon and met with JJ (sales person). JJ already had the vehicle u was invested in pulled up and ready for a test drive. Overall JJ was easy going and very knowledgeable. Not only was he able to answer all my questions, he was able to beat the price I was expecting to pay upon waking in. Once we locked in the price finance / signing of the contact was straightforward. Overall the experience was great. Only thing that had me waiting to drive off with my new car was the fact that the EV's battery was only at 10% after the test drive. Supposedly they had my EV on a fast DC charger but after even going to enterprise to drop off my rental and walk back...It was only at 30%. In my opinion Dealerships should have their EVs charged to at least 50% at all times.,.but other than that, I have nothing but positive things to say about JJ and his team at Kia Van Nuys. read more

He is about to start college, his car engine began to idle really loudly and his "check engine light" came on, so he called Glendale to make an appointment. They couldn't give him one as quickly as Keyes Van Nuys. That was last Wednesday. My husband and son dropped it off that morning and heard nothing for 2 days. I called Thursday night but the service department was closed. Angelina answered and "OMG", I WAS BLOWN AWAY!! This young woman (who apparently in charge of customer service training???) has absolutely no idea what customer service even is! I asked if they began work on this car? She said they told my husband that they have 3-4 days to begin work on it. I've never had that happen before...ever! - NO, THEY DID NOT! I asked for her name. She said "Angelina" and what 's yours (in a sarcastic tone).-WTF! I said it was bought new pretty recently and she kept repeatedly interrupting that it was not new. It was bought new in 2022 and this is 2023 and that's a new car! -WOOOO.... She said she would tell Martin (the serviceperson who checked them in) they would be picking up the car the following morning. I said I would ask my husband what he wanted to do and NEVER SAID THAT TO HER! And lots more.. I called Friday morning and spoke to Edwin in service and findally got him to admit that the car had not been touched. He said they have 3-5 days to begin work on a car. I asked what the point of an appointment was (especially since all they had to do was connect it to a machine)? He said "in case they finished the other cars before that, it would be there waiting . - NOT A GOOD ANSWER. On Friday, I called Kia Glendale, the following day, and told them my plight and they gave him a Monday morning appointment. I then called Ali ( Van Nuys Kia Sales Mgr) and voiced my concerns. My son also said the low fuel light came on when he picked up his car. I told him we got any paperwork and after calculating the mileage (calling their service department that It was about 10 miles more than it should have been. Ali looked into it and could not explain it. He asked me what I wanted him to do about it and I said that I thought they owed him an explanation or at least some gas since he was responsible for paying for his own. Ali calculated it was about 1/3 a gallon! It a 12 mile drive from our house th their dealership, car was not touched for 3 days, and it seemed that someone must have driven his car for no reason. He then said he would put a gallon of gas if we brought it back. THAT'S ANOTHER 12 MILES WASTED WHEN GAS IS IVER $5 A GALLON!- REALLY? I left a message for the Service Department Mgr and still haven't gotten a response. HORRIBLE PLACE!! SO MUCH WRONG AND NO ACCOUNTABLIITY! BTW. GLENDALE KIA got my son's car back to him the same day he brought it in, which was Monday. I doubt that Van Nuys Kia could have managed that, to be honest. People, please tell your personal horror stories so they will wake up and get thir act together. Set up a service appointment a week in advance and everything was fine until I got to the dealership and they told me they have to charge me $250 to diagnose an oil leak..... on a brand new car under warranty. I've never heard of such thing at any dealership coming in with a 2022 Stinger, its not like I'm coming with a 2012 Kia Rio.... Don't buy a marked up car here and don't service your car here... save your time, money and peace of mind. The service end of the dealership is horrendous. Made an appointment ahead of time to get the oil changed on my 2022 Stinger which has a new engine in the Kia line-up. Before showing up I confirmed VIN and I told them it has the 2.5T. I show up on time the day of my appointment to 10 car line up. Waited 4 hours for an oil change, only to find out they put the wrong weight oil in my car for its 1st oil change, The service manager told me he was going to call me back the next day to change it. Never reached back until I showed up in person. The dealership still can't figure out how to reset the service interval to the 5000 miles like the booklet says instead it's 8000 miles and 365 days in my radio. Its obviously possible but Kia dealers are just lazy and not properly trained on the 2022 cars which changed a lot of electronic settings in the radios. I'm speaking from experience coming from a Kia dealership myself. Kia service is steaming garbage, you wouldn't expect to not get a loaner car when you spend $50,000 on a brand new car, especially a Stinger. How are your cars marked up $20,000 over when you can't even service it properly? Shame. read more

Service department is THE WORST! Took my car in to be serviced for a shaking issue in January (they kept it for over a week. No rental/loaner) 6 weeks later and $1k later, the shaking came back, called them and they wanted me to bring it back but I wasn't prepared to leave it for another week, so 8 weeks later I take it back and they diagnose the car with something Completely different (another $750). Car was supposed to be ready Monday (today) but they still haven't called me back, and they won't answer my phone calls (been calling since 2pm). wouldnt recommend taking your Kia to be serviced here, unless you are able to leave it for more than 1 week at a time and willing to spend $1k over and over again, and of course NOTHING l ever be covered under their LOVELY warranty, because why would it ? Also, a helpful tip: DO NOT make an appoitnemt. They're USELESS. As the worker said "appointment are just to let you know we're checking in your car" . read more

I couldn't let my great experience at this dealership go by without a 'hats off' to their service department. I've been dealing with a knock in my 2014 Sorento engine ever since I bought it in August of 2013. Every dealership I brought it to said it was a 'normal noise'. Until I went to Van Nuys Kia for an oil change last month and one of the Service Advisors heard it and insisted that I bring it back in for a check. With only 55,000 on my odometer I had plenty of warranty left. Jonathan Hughes coordinated the entire ordeal. They had to run a lot of tests before Kia agreed to replace my noisy engine but, after two weeks, I'm now driving my terrific Sorento with a new and very quiet engine. After 8-1/2 years I am as happy with my Kia today as I was when I first bought it. I am a grateful and now loyal Van Nuys Kia customer. read more

Started out good- Maggie was really nice and helpful, we got to an agreeable price and I drove up from San Diego. Everything went well with financing and the deal but then the problems started. - I saw a scratch on the side of the vehicle. They said they could buff it out but I had to head back to San Diego so we agreed they would mail me some all-weather mats instead. - I get to San Diego and see protective/transportation film/stickers- on the "shark-fin" antenna, under the doorhandles, on some windows, a lot of places. So I start taking them off and some of them had glue and residue under and it looked like some of the paint came off with it. I was devastated and called in to find out that while some are temporary and should be removed, others were an add-on paint protection bundle that they include in every car and we pay extra for. They said they can't do anything because I shouldn't have pulled it off. I really believe they should have explained which were stickers and which were paint protection because I've never had it before but ok you could say this is my fault. I just think they should explain it when they sell it to someone as its an addition they force and I've never had a car with it in the past. - 2.5 weeks after getting the car I get a low tire pressure warning. The current air pressures pop up and they show Front Left: 52, Front Right: 36, Back Left: 50, Back Right: 21. I mean how does that even happen? Correct air pressure on this car is 38 on the fronts and 36 on the backs. Why is the left side of the car above 50?! And right front is 36 but right back is now at 21, I mean this is not good for the vehicle for me to be driving the first 700 miles at those air pressures. Now I'm worried can cause wheel issues later or who knows. I still wasn't going to write a bad review after the paint protection thing but this was the last straw and now I feel obligated to write one unfortunately. Really wanted this to be a good experience but someone definitely messed up on checking this car to make sure it was ready to go. Now I'm thinking who knows if the fluids are filled in this car or if anything was checked or done right. I'm going to get a full checkup. I've spoken with the dealership a few times but please dealership just do a real check up on every car before giving it to a customer. And I personally think showing where the paint protection film is would be a good idea but maybe that's just me. read more

A few days ago, I walked into Kia Van Nuys Dealership with my 2015 KIA Sorento and before sunset, I left with a brand new KIA Sportage 2024. My 9-year old son became best friends with Jonathan "JJ" Juarez who gave us such good service. JJ uses his baseball skills to sell cars. Just like one moves quickly from base to base, JJ takes you from one car to the next to make sure you end up buying that one car you need and love. His "pitch" included information about the car's features, specifications, and benefits to the buyer. He took the time to explain to my child everything we needed to know about the Sportage. When JJ was done, we closed the doors and my son started crying from happiness on our way home. He couldn't believe we were driving a brand new car.
