Wow, where do I begin? I generally write reviews when someone deserves props. But once in a while, when customer service is so incredibly derelict you need to warn others. Like Anthony T stated, among others, truly the worst customer service ever. Way too many details to get into, but bottom line is we took our car in mid May and it was supposed to be ready in 3 weeks, allowing for a part to be ordered and programmed. Other than the initial few weeks, the communication has been non existent and we still do not have our car. We have spoken to numerous people, supposed managers, etc. No one ever calls you back. My husband calls, calls and calls. Finally gets someone and they are going to get back within two hours, never happens. It is insane that they never offer an actual explanation. We actually spoke to another KIA dealer who confirmed that the part is in stock and has no clue what their issue is. Absolutely no offer to help in any way, perhaps a loaner car? It has been almost 3 freaking months!!!!! Supposedly, it is finally going to be ready today or tomorrow at the latest. If it's actually ready, and they don't charge us anything, perhaps I will come back and put up 2 stars, but the fact they have never given two hoots or shown any professionalism I am not holding my breath. read more

I had an excellent experience with service advisor Jonathan Hughes. I had ordered parts for installation prior to my appointment but was not advised on labor costs. I know now in the future to ask because on the day of my appointment, the estimate I received including labor costs basically doubled my bill. I was prepared to cancel but Jonathan asked me to wait. Jonathan deserves recognition and a prize for the experience he provided that day. Despite appearing overbooked, Jonathan calmly asked new customers to please wait, while also making phone calls and trying to work everything out. I am sure the time he spent with me was not ideal on such a busy day. In fact I told him it was ok if he couldn't do anything because even I was feeling anxious about the growing line of customers. Jonathan remained calm and told me he didn't want me to have a bad experience. I truly felt that Jonathan made it his mission to sort things out and I'm happy to say he was able to make a few adjustments so that I could move forward with everything! I'm fully aware that the amount of time he spent with me probably wasn't typical but it left a lasting impression on me and I'm very pleased with my experience with him. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT ACTUAL WORK DONE TO YOUR CAR!! The Van Nuys Kia service center is the absolute worst service center that I've ever been to. I called them about bringing my car in for a diagnostic because the check engine light was on. I asked how long that would take them and was told it would take 1-3 days. I made an appointment for Monday, 3/6/23. When I got there on Monday I confirmed with my advisor, Ruben, how long it would take and he reiterated 1-3 days. He said that he would have an answer for me on Wednesday, 3/8/23. I asked about a rental car and was told they don't do loaners but they work with a rental company that charges $50 a day. I opted for it because it was only going to be 2 days, I had things I needed to do in the coming days and I didn't want to rely on Uber/Lyft. Big mistake. Wednesday rolls around and I hadn't received any type of update. I call them, get the run around and then I'm told they'll know more Thursday, 3/9/23. Thursday comes and almost goes before I again have to call them to receive any sort of update. This time I'm told they'll know next Monday, 3/13/23. Next Monday comes around and I again have to call them. Being annoyed by this point, I ask my husband to call. They tell him that they're backed up and that's why it's taking so long. They never once told me they were backed up and I found it very frustrating that they told my husband when it's not even his car. Then they say they'll know Tuesday, 3/14/23. My husband asks them to let me know early on Tuesday, they say okay. Noon on Tuesday rolls around, nothing. My husband calls the manager, Ismael, and asks what is going on. He reiterates that they're backed up and lets him know that they haven't even touched my car. After hearing this information, I took the rental car back and went to get my car that day. I paid almost $600 for that rental car while my car sat at their dealership for over a week with no work being done to it. So again I say, DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT ACTUAL WORK DONE TO YOUR CAR!! They will not keep their promise, they will give you the run around, and if you're a woman, they will disrespect you until you get a man involved. I was treated with much more respect and care at the Glendale Kia dealership. Furthermore, I originally posted this review on 3/15/23, and they reached out to me asking me to take it down so that they could come up with a solution and get me a refund on the rental car. Angeline was helpful for about a week and now after almost a month of calling her to get some sort of update, I can only assume she has ghosted me. So congrats Van Nuys Kia, your service continues to be incredibly unprofessional in every way possible and your blatant disrespect has earned you an even more scathing review. read more

My car was vandalized. Thieves smashed a window and attempted to steal my car. They failed, but did damaged to my steering column. I take the car to Van Nuys Kia. There is a $245.00 fee to examine the vehicle to determine what is wrong and possible repair. Advisor text me and tells me there about $4500.00 worth of damage. Never told me what specifically was wrong or parts needed or labor hours. He just pushing payment options and financing being available. Conditions were unclear, but I was desperate and I agreed(my fault). I go to pick up my vehicle. We take care of the financing, FIRST THING! I did not get a walk through of my vehicle and the vehicle was dirty. I was not happy. They washed the outside of the vehicle and I left. I went to clean my vehicle the next morning, and I find large piece of broken glass debris still in the vehicle. I cleaned most of the glass before I took the vehicle to the dealership. They replaced the broken window, but did not clean the vehicle of the broken glass that remained. How do you replace a window, but do not cleanup afterwards? We have been looking for hybrid models of the Kia Sportage and Sorento over the past few months with no such luck until last week when we decided to call Kia Van Nuys again on a whim. Cynthia picked our call and was the absolute nicest person as we asked her a handful of questions about the cars we were looking to see. Low and behold - two hybrid Sorentos in the SX trim were available so we quickly made an appointment within the next hour to see them. Once we got there, Russell greeted us warmly and led us to Cynthia who actually handed us back to Russell to see the cars. Russell was the best going above and beyond to answer all our questions and show us all the cool amenities available in the Sorento SX. The grey Sorento SX Prestige stole our hearts from the get go - perfect size for our growing family and with all the bells and whistles we had been looking for in a new car. Russell worked with us in fine tuning our deal to our specifications/budget and once he came back to us with numbers we were happy to work with - he even went out of his way to purchase cheetos for our son who had become a bit restless waiting for us to finish buying the car (you know this process can take a while so it was such a nice touch to help keep our son satiated while we finished the paperwork). Once the deal was reached, we were handed off to Eric (the finance manager) who walked us through the entire process and any additional add-on protections we might want to add. There was no pressure or uncomfortable moments during this transaction and we were so glad because you always hear about those horror stories. Eric also pulled out all the stops and provided stickers and transformer crayons for my son to play with as we were nearing the final stages of the finance paperwork. We enjoyed talking to him on a personal level as well which made the car buying experience even more enjoyable! In the end, we were able to drive our new car home - so over the moon excited to play with all the features and set up our separate driving profiles! Cannot recommend KIA VAN NUYS enough if you're looking to purchase any of the amazing Kia vehicles on the market.
