We have been looking for hybrid models of the Kia Sportage and Sorento over the past few months with no such luck until last week when we decided to call Kia Van Nuys again on a whim. Cynthia picked our call and was the absolute nicest person as we asked her a handful of questions about the cars we were looking to see. Low and behold - two hybrid Sorentos in the SX trim were available so we quickly made an appointment within the next hour to see them. Once we got there, Russell greeted us warmly and led us to Cynthia who actually handed us back to Russell to see the cars. Russell was the best going above and beyond to answer all our questions and show us all the cool amenities available in the Sorento SX. The grey Sorento SX Prestige stole our hearts from the get go - perfect size for our growing family and with all the bells and whistles we had been looking for in a new car. Russell worked with us in fine tuning our deal to our specifications/budget and once he came back to us with numbers we were happy to work with - he even went out of his way to purchase cheetos for our son who had become a bit restless waiting for us to finish buying the car (you know this process can take a while so it was such a nice touch to help keep our son satiated while we finished the paperwork). Once the deal was reached, we were handed off to Eric (the finance manager) who walked us through the entire process and any additional add-on protections we might want to add. There was no pressure or uncomfortable moments during this transaction and we were so glad because you always hear about those horror stories. Eric also pulled out all the stops and provided stickers and transformer crayons for my son to play with as we were nearing the final stages of the finance paperwork. We enjoyed talking to him on a personal level as well which made the car buying experience even more enjoyable! In the end, we were able to drive our new car home - so over the moon excited to play with all the features and set up our separate driving profiles! Cannot recommend KIA VAN NUYS enough if you're looking to purchase any of the amazing Kia vehicles on the market. The hybrids are especially hot right now with their amazing fuel efficiency and not to mention - they are absolutely the most bang for your buck cars available right now. I cannot recommend Kia enough! I'm almost due to give birth so my husband went to Kia to get a car on our behalf saving me the wait and Johnathon aka JJ went above and beyond!! He was running back and forth getting my husband the model that we want was extremely pleasant easy to work with super down to earth and made the experience a memorable one. It was a smooth process and he really had our best interest at heart. He was so accommodating that I just had to drive to the dealership just to sign the paperwork in and out less than 20 minutes. the car is not ready until tomorrow but he is driving down to my house to drop off our new car so I don't have to take my 2 toddlers while being pregnant back to the dealership. I have never in all my years of going to dealerships met an honest caring and super down to earth salesman like JJ. Pros: Kind & held true to their word on pricing -- a lot of other Kias I went to upped their prices significantly than what they quoted me over the phone and then ended up driving miles inland just to be surprised with a deal surpassing what was discussed (thanks, Omar). Van Nuys held their word and was able to offer a lower finance rate when I arrived. Johahn (?) did the paperwork with me, explained everything in a thorough but timely matter, very nice guy (congrats on the new baby!). Thanks to Abigail as well for being patient and serviceable as well. Cons: Long wait times & communication - waited about an hour for them to bring the car to the dealer from their offsite but wasn't told until I asked later. After doing the paperwork, I waited another almost 2 hours for the car to get cleaned/buffed and was later informed after asking that service hadn't seen the car in the queue for the wash. All in all, happy with my experience! read more

Very unprofessional experience.... I called the day before and ask for a car to be held (new lease) and to turn in my old car (old lease ended). I was left sitting in their small parking lot (while trying to avoid people who were not wearing masks and/or social distancing) for OVER 4 HOURS.... waiting for paperwork to turn in my old lease (main purpose as lease ended) and to lease a new vehicle. Yup, I was actually trying to lease another one.... BIG MISTAKE with this location. Salesperson had very poor communication skills (kept finding out he lied over and over again) and I was not able to switch to another salesperson, plus his unfriendly and VERY unpleasant supervisors who I spoke with about my dissatisfaction claim that there were others waiting before me (what for 5 hours?). This was untrue as I saw that there were only a total of 10-12 visitors/customers that came and went during my entire time there. Not one single car was sold (keys given and drove away) other than mine. After this experience I will NEVER own or lease another KIA ever again. Huge disappointment over the simplest transaction could have been... I call and ask for a car to be held (new lease) and to turn in my old car (old lease). But to be sitting there and be disrespected like that shows how BAD a dealership this is and I would NEVER recommend anyone to ever do business with them. The problem was, choosing this dealership because it was the closest to my home. HUGE MISTAKE and should have driven the distance and gone to Glendale (Car Pros) or anywhere else. GO ELSEWHERE! Terrible service. I made an appointment to replace a tire for my Kia Sorento. They told me I needed to talk with Parts first, so I did. They asked me what exact tire I needed and confirmed that they'd have it the next day in the morning. With that info, I made the appointment for the the following day in the afternoon, and I asked to be transferred back to Parts to re-confirm that indeed I was going the next day. However, and despite all that double-checking, when I got there the following day they said they didn't have the tire. Apparently, they hadn't put in the order. Of course, no one apologized to me; in fact, they tried to put the blame on me because I hadn't pay for the tire in advance, something that I would have totally done if anyone (out of the three people I talked to over the phone the previous day) would have mentioned or asked me. Not wanting to deal with these guys anymore, on my way home I called Kia Car Pros at Glendale and they were much nicer and more efficient. They are better because they understand that customers have more important things to do that learn the minucia of car dealer departments, and consequently inform customers about what needs to be done without wasting their time or making them feel stupid. So yeah, lazy service, poor understanding of customers' needs, and bad attitude. Never coming here again. read more

We have a new 2023 Kia. Sales process was outstanding. With all this rainy weather in SoCal, windshield wipers are mandatory. Unfortunately, the windshield wipers have a mind of their own and do not work when needed. We've had the vehicle in the shop 3 times since Nov 22 all to address the windshield wipers. I'm an understanding person, so I was willing to take a risk on a new model without a track record knowing that there could be kinks that need to be worked out. They provided a rental, but it is not comparable to our vehicle. What is frustrating is the lack of communication from the service department, so we have to constantly follow up with them and they are having to connect with Kia headquarters to figure out how to troubleshoot. Such is the process for new vehicles. Hope they smooth out the operations. read more

Their 'accessories' are mostly useless and redundant and somehow added an additional $3,000+, more than 15 percent of the original price. Manager came and said they would only honor price on phone if we paid $3k for their useless redundant accessories. Do not work with these folks. Total trash. read more
