Terrible service. I made an appointment to replace a tire for my Kia Sorento. They told me I needed to talk with Parts first, so I did. They asked me what exact tire I needed and confirmed that they'd have it the next day in the morning. With that info, I made the appointment for the the following day in the afternoon, and I asked to be transferred back to Parts to re-confirm that indeed I was going the next day. However, and despite all that double-checking, when I got there the following day they said they didn't have the tire. Apparently, they hadn't put in the order. Of course, no one apologized to me; in fact, they tried to put the blame on me because I hadn't pay for the tire in advance, something that I would have totally done if anyone (out of the three people I talked to over the phone the previous day) would have mentioned or asked me. Not wanting to deal with these guys anymore, on my way home I called Kia Car Pros at Glendale and they were much nicer and more efficient. They are better because they understand that customers have more important things to do that learn the minucia of car dealer departments, and consequently inform customers about what needs to be done without wasting their time or making them feel stupid. So yeah, lazy service, poor understanding of customers' needs, and bad attitude. Never coming here again. read more

We have a new 2023 Kia. Sales process was outstanding. With all this rainy weather in SoCal, windshield wipers are mandatory. Unfortunately, the windshield wipers have a mind of their own and do not work when needed. We've had the vehicle in the shop 3 times since Nov 22 all to address the windshield wipers. I'm an understanding person, so I was willing to take a risk on a new model without a track record knowing that there could be kinks that need to be worked out. They provided a rental, but it is not comparable to our vehicle. What is frustrating is the lack of communication from the service department, so we have to constantly follow up with them and they are having to connect with Kia headquarters to figure out how to troubleshoot. Such is the process for new vehicles. Hope they smooth out the operations. read more

Very unprofessional experience.... I called the day before and ask for a car to be held (new lease) and to turn in my old car (old lease ended). I was left sitting in their small parking lot (while trying to avoid people who were not wearing masks and/or social distancing) for OVER 4 HOURS.... waiting for paperwork to turn in my old lease (main purpose as lease ended) and to lease a new vehicle. Yup, I was actually trying to lease another one.... BIG MISTAKE with this location. Salesperson had very poor communication skills (kept finding out he lied over and over again) and I was not able to switch to another salesperson, plus his unfriendly and VERY unpleasant supervisors who I spoke with about my dissatisfaction claim that there were others waiting before me (what for 5 hours?). This was untrue as I saw that there were only a total of 10-12 visitors/customers that came and went during my entire time there. Not one single car was sold (keys given and drove away) other than mine. After this experience I will NEVER own or lease another KIA ever again. Huge disappointment over the simplest transaction could have been... I call and ask for a car to be held (new lease) and to turn in my old car (old lease). But to be sitting there and be disrespected like that shows how BAD a dealership this is and I would NEVER recommend anyone to ever do business with them. The problem was, choosing this dealership because it was the closest to my home. HUGE MISTAKE and should have driven the distance and gone to Glendale (Car Pros) or anywhere else. GO ELSEWHERE! Avoid this location at all costs.... If they wanted a happy customer, 1-2 hour wait would have been acceptable... but 4+ hours.... read more

Pros: Kind & held true to their word on pricing -- a lot of other Kias I went to upped their prices significantly than what they quoted me over the phone and then ended up driving miles inland just to be surprised with a deal surpassing what was discussed (thanks, Omar). Van Nuys held their word and was able to offer a lower finance rate when I arrived. Johahn (?) did the paperwork with me, explained everything in a thorough but timely matter, very nice guy (congrats on the new baby!). Thanks to Abigail as well for being patient and serviceable as well. Cons: Long wait times & communication - waited about an hour for them to bring the car to the dealer from their offsite but wasn't told until I asked later. After doing the paperwork, I waited another almost 2 hours for the car to get cleaned/buffed and was later informed after asking that service hadn't seen the car in the queue for the wash. I went in for my 6-month old 2020 Stinger GT2 AWD's first oil change and ended up with an out-of-service car in need of a full engine replacement. The tech didn't install the oil drain plug correctly (verified by the local Kia dealership where the car is at now), resulting in all of the oil leaking out and damaging the engine beyond repair. Van Nuys Kia owes me at least $10K-$15K in engine replacement and rental car costs, but they're blowing me off and not responding to phone calls from me or the local Kia dealership. Go see Farooq, that's all! Ok, but seriously, we needed a car but we weren't in a rush. We've been in the Hyundai family for about 9yrs and had been going to the same dealership (3 leased cars). We arrived at Hyundai and there was no energy and overall the experience just fell flat. I left pretty discouraged and as we were driving home we passed KIA. I don't know much about KIA but my husband likes the cars so I said "fine, i'll go". When we arrived, the dealership was bumping! It was busy, there was energy and an overall positive vibe. Farooq, immediately greeted us and was so polite and let us do the talking. The car we wanted to see was not on the lot and he said give him 15mins but it got there much faster and we were ready to roll. We began to test drive and again Farooq let us do the talking. He answered all our questions, knew when to insert himself and just let us cruise. When we got back I was honest and said I love the car but not the price tag and explained this was a secondary car so we're trying to be smarter. Most salesmen would still have tried to sell us that car but instead Farooq worked with us and showed us other options and we landed on a car I didn't know existed - KIA NIRO. We then test drove that one and fell in love and again he let us do the talking, answered all our questions and knew when to insert himself. When we were ready to run numbers and look at the trade in, it was pretty straight forward. Of course, there was some back and forth as it should be but, Farooq was very respectful of our process and gave us the time we needed. I never felt rushed or pressured, especially given that WE were now on a time crunch (he knew there was a commitment that night we had to get to). Once we locked in, he started the process and promised he would get us out on time. He even relayed the message to finance and Delmy also took great care of us! When we were done the car was ready to go, the gong was rung and the big red bow was on! Farooq, made sure we were set up on the app and all the last minute details and questions were squared away. Price gouging alert! I stopped by Van Nuys Kia on Wednesday December 21, 2022 to see Kia Telluride inventory. Van Nuys Kia is asking $15,000 over MSRP for the Kia Telluride. They claim this is due to strong market demand. Naturally, they had a few Telluride SUVs that are unsold, which begs the question if the car is in such high demand, why do they have any in stock? The bottom line is that this is greed pure and simple. I refuse to consider doing business with a car dealership that marks up unsold vehicles that are not truly rare or collectible. This is a common person's SUV (albeit a nice SUV). If you have paid OVER sticker for a car like this, I feel badly for you. Do NOT do business with dealers or even brands that permit dealers to ask for such absurd price hikes. STAY AWAY from this Kia dealership and stay away from KIA until they stop marking up their unsold vehicles. read more

I brought my car in for service and asked them to check the drivers side mirror since it wasn't folding out correctly, they told me it needed to be replaced and they'd order the part and call me...... no call. Finally I call them weeks later, oh yeah that's here.... So I schedule service to get it replaced.. bring it in at 9:30 on Saturday, they tell me it'll be 3-4 hours and they'd call me when it was finished.... No call, no answer... they are now closed and they are closed on Sunday. No one on the sales side would help. Now I don't have a car. Completely unacceptable. I will not be back. read more

Overall my buying experience and subsequent service visits have been unsatisfactory. I would avoid this place if you value customer service. However after dealing with both Mousa in sales and Modesto in service department I see the issue is with management. On multiple occasions I asked that the service manager Emir or the GM call me back regarding an issue. I am still waiting on a call from Emir as to how they are going to handle my issue. I won't hold my breath. From the initial purchase I had issues where I was promised certain things that did not happen as of yet. I also needed a light replaced that per corporate Kia should have been addressed prior to selling the vehicle being it was a "Kia Certified Used Vehicle".
