Price gouging alert! I stopped by Van Nuys Kia on Wednesday December 21, 2022 to see Kia Telluride inventory. Van Nuys Kia is asking $15,000 over MSRP for the Kia Telluride. They claim this is due to strong market demand. Naturally, they had a few Telluride SUVs that are unsold, which begs the question if the car is in such high demand, why do they have any in stock? The bottom line is that this is greed pure and simple. I refuse to consider doing business with a car dealership that marks up unsold vehicles that are not truly rare or collectible. This is a common person's SUV (albeit a nice SUV). If you have paid OVER sticker for a car like this, I feel badly for you. Do NOT do business with dealers or even brands that permit dealers to ask for such absurd price hikes. STAY AWAY from this Kia dealership and stay away from KIA until they stop marking up their unsold vehicles. read more

I brought my car in for service and asked them to check the drivers side mirror since it wasn't folding out correctly, they told me it needed to be replaced and they'd order the part and call me...... no call. Finally I call them weeks later, oh yeah that's here.... So I schedule service to get it replaced.. bring it in at 9:30 on Saturday, they tell me it'll be 3-4 hours and they'd call me when it was finished.... No call, no answer... they are now closed and they are closed on Sunday. No one on the sales side would help. Now I don't have a car. Completely unacceptable. I will not be back. read more

Do not buy a car here sure their cheaper than Honda but will give you so many headaches. I lease the car from them and told them that it was a concern for me being in the military for a termination of contract early they said it's not a problem they said just turn it in when you need to and there will be no charge and when I end up bringing it in, they said you're good. You're in the military and no problems. It was quick and easy and a month later, I get a letter in the mail from Kia finance for $900 $400 depreciation fee $400 early termination fee and a $100 missing key fee even though there was two keys written on the report I talked to Kia finance and they said to talk to the dealership I go to the dealership and talk to their finance department and they tell me they can't do anything for me. I had to talk to Kia finance after several hours customer service on the phones finance. They finally knocked down all the charges but they charge $160 for wear and tear but I had the policy now I have to contact the third-party that gave me the policy and I have to submit a claim through them and then they send an email to Kia so overall terrible experience. read more

We knew what car we were looking for and what price we wanted to pay- after calling a dozen places who had what we wanted, he was the only one who was even remotely in the ballpark of what we wanted to pay. He didn't jerk us around or try to nickel and dime us. I told him the car and price I wanted, he came back immediately with a great deal, just barely over what I led with. A dozen Kias could not meet this deal by at least a difference of 3k, many wanting 5-6k more. I drove four and a half hours, my wife thinking that there had to be some sort of catch or trick that would be pulled once we got there, but I felt secure and taken care of by Brandon and this dealership. I rarely ever write reviews this review has to do with the service department. I want to first off start by saying I love my car I have a 2021 Kia K5 this is my second Kia I have nothing bad to say against Kia. On March 8th I had my car towed in to Kia due to a faulty oil change done by jiffy lube. Yes my car is under warranty but sometimes it just takes forever at the dealership, I needed it done quickly so I went to jiffy lube they did not attach my drain plug back properly and over the course of 30 days It loosened then eventually fell off causing my engine to seize. I know dealerships get backed up but it took them 7 days to assess what was wrong with my vehicle, I was told that I would need a new engine and it would cost$16,000!!!! I immediately went into a state of panic as my car is only 2 years old and I called jiffy lube and to my surprise they were actually very compliant said they would take full responsibility. So when I sent over the email of the breakdown from the dealership to jiffy lube they had increased the price from$16,000 to $20,000! Jiffy lube felt that since they were a large corporation the dealership was trying to take advantage of the situation. They still were on board with getting my vehicle fixed but thought they might have to pull my car to take it somewhere else for more reasonable price. Jiffy lube sent out their technician to run diagnostics on the car and their district manager told me my car was running just fine. Jiffy lube being very thorough sent out a third party again just to make sure to run more tests on the car because The Kia dealership had told them that my engine was knocking and rattling which it was not! they said it was running smoothly! Once jiffy lube settled the payment which, I did not end up having to get a new engine!! jiffy lube informed me that they would keep my car for an additional day to run further test doing long haul drives riding it on the highway stop and go test just to make sure do it was running smoothly! They also informed me that the dealership before releasing the car to them did an oil leak and compression test and my car was just fine! I find it ironic that I'm leaving the bad review with my dealership and not jiffy lube for messing up my car in the first place. Jiffy lube went above and beyond in being accommodating and even want a step further to say that if down the road something happens to my engine that they would take full responsibility. The emotional stress that I went through thinking I would have to get a new engine for my car and being without my car for 3 weeks when in essence all I needed was an oil change and a drain plug reattached back to my car!!! I feel because I was a woman I was taken advantage of and they saw an opportunity for a money grab at my expense! This has left a very sour taste in my mouth, and now if anything is wrong with my car I do not feel confident in going to does this dealership for service! read more

I would choose another KIA location to purchase and service. I bought my Sorento SX here right after Christmas. Within 5 days of purchasing, I reached out because my Apple CarPlay was delayed. Couldn't use any kind of navigation without it being behind by 3 miles, and phone calls also were delayed. Seemed like it should be a simple reboot of software, etc. Called service department, Ismael told me to send a video of it happening to his email. Did that, heard nothing for a week. My husband followed up while I was away on a work trip. He heard nothing. I got back a week later, drove to the dealer to talk in person since seemed like returning and email was never going to happen. Spoke with Ismael, never apologized for not returning the emails. Told me another 2023 was in for the same reason and he would use that car as a "dummy" to see what the issue was and notify me within 2-3 days. Heard nothing, ofc ....Followed up a week later Thru email....still nothing. I call this past week,....he's "not available" to speak to and after explaining the lack of customer service over the last 3 weeks, I'm advised to talk to Amir, the manager, the next day when he's in. I call the next day as told to do, Frank picks up...won't let me talk to Amir...scuffles in his response of why...clearly just trying to avoid me talking to him. So I again, explain my clear frustration...he then puts me on hold for 30 minutes. Ismael, not Amir, finally gets on the phone and puts me on speaker. I am beyond mad now ofc....and it seems whoever is on speaker with him is laughing at my frustration...which I ask..."are you laughing at me?" He never really answers that. Tells me that the other car he was using as a dummy had no issue and was gone within an hour that day...great. Never thought to reach out and have my car come in?? I guess just wrote me off, assumed my car had no issue as well, even with my multiple follow ups and phone calls. I mean.....He also used the excuse of diagnostics being 2 weeks behind as a reason of why there was no communication...?? Like I'm supposed to read minds to know that??? And so diagnostics means you can't return an email, or use a phone??? The lack of customer service since I bought the car has been abhorrent. I don't know how you continue to keep customers with this kind of service. I can only think that they need to hire more people and that they are in the weeds. But the lack of empathy in this situation and trying to rectify my frustration was beyond absent. As a nice bonus in my review I'll also mention the misogyny that happened when purchasing. The finance guy showed true misogyny when I said no to the add-ons...multiple times. And when he was at his final depths of trying to coerce me for more money, he looked over at my husband and said "are you really gonna let this happen?" My husband was floored...seeing it happen right in front of me with such disregard, he couldn't believe it. I, honestly, wasn't phased because well I'm a woman..and it's not the first time. But that being said we are in Los Angeles, know your audience. All in all, not the best experience. Not the best. read more

Van Nuys Kia is a disaster and an embarrassment to the Kia brand. The entire place is a three-ring circus with incompetent management and no customer focus whatsoever. Their service department is seemingly staffed with the same level of incompetence as their management. Allow me to elaborate: I purchased my Niro PHEV on 9/20/2020 and only received ONE key. I was assured that the other key was in the Service department, but since that department had closed for the day they couldn't get the key out. By that time my wife, 2-year-old daughter, and I had been there for FOUR hours so I just wanted to get out of there before my toddler had a meltdown. But how is it they couldn't even access their own service department? In any case I was then told the next day that the key was not there and they had LOST THE KEY meaning they would need to order a new one for me, but that when it arrived they would bring it to me. Nearly three weeks later I was told that they had ordered the WRONG key and that I would need to wait for them to order the right key. THEN over a WEEK after that the proper key FINALLY arrived, but they couldn't bring it to me and I would need to bring my vehicle in for the key to be "programmed". This is an over 22 mile drive one-way when I have a full-time job and a toddler to deal with. But wanting to get this disaster over with I took my car in today ALMOST A FULL MONTH AFTER BUYING MY CAR (10/17/2020) to get my key. Van Nuys Kia's ONLY saving grace is JJ, the salesman I worked with. He is smart, friendly, and very easy to work with. He kept in contact with me during this entire past month to make sure I wasn't forgotten about. However it is clear that he is being hampered by the management and service departments. He was wholly committed to trying to keep me happy, but every time he thought he had a new key for me he was told some other BS story by his coworkers.
