Let me start off by saying when it comes to professionalism and hard work, JJ is the first person that comes to mind. Initially I came to Kia of Van Nuys and was unable to work out a deal, after leaving I spoke with a representative who put me in contact with JJ. I'm very Disappointed with finance office!! Upon purchasing my Kia Sorrento last year I was offered the gap insurance for a little extra more, I didn't want to get it because my payments were going to be higher and then Ali assured me that I can cancel it at anytime if I had trouble making payments... here we are 14 months later in the same office with a different person in front of me telling me that I can cancel it but my payments will still remain the same., WTH!! And of course a sales man line is "that person is no longer with us" people if you can't afford the Gap insurance don't get it!! Disappointing experience! Had a scheduled service for 10am. Wasn't greet until 10mins later-there was a group of 3-4 just chatting. Then their food arrived and they ate-meanwhile there were 2 of us in the service area that hadn't been greeted or acknowledged for our appointments. So I do not write this post flippantly. My wife recently told me about a trade in offer she was quoted for her older Kia Soul while she went to have her car worked on. I knew that she needed to replace the car sooner than later, so I grew interest when she told me how much they would offer her. I'm incredibly disappointed. I purchased a 2021 Kia K5 but continuously had trouble with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the speakers on the passenger and driver's side door panels would rattle/buzz anytime I listened to music at low volume. I took it into service over 12 times throughout late 2020 through 2021 to get this fixed but to no avail. Problems continued. They did help to trade it in for a 2022 model after over a year of complaining but of course, I'm paying the price difference. While my car was being appraised for the trade-in, workers STOLE two pairs of designer sunglasses and pocket change from the center console valued at over $700 while parked on their lot. I had to file a police report because no one at the dealership would help/give me answers. The lead Police Detective was able to cease security camera footage and the investigation is ongoing. I'm pretty shocked over what happened especially with it being a Kia Car Dealership. I've never experienced something like this before where I've also had to call consumer affairs. Everyone is super cool at first, very friendly but it's when you need help afterward that you will be brushed aside. Service technicians will talk over you and not listen. I never write reviews, but felt obligated to here. Terrible all-around professionalism, work quality, communication, and transparency into the services being provided. Sometimes things go wrong, but there was no personal accountability and only shifting blame and/or gaslighting customers. Some additional notes following one vehicle inspection at Kia Van Nuys: 1) Kia Van Nuys made a recommendation to replace front & rear brake pads, which additional inspections from other local mechanics determined was not required (only front). 2) Other mechanics also noted significant irregular wear on tires which resulted in a tire replacement and wheel alignment. Kia Van Nuys did not evaluate this as part of the inspection. 3) Car was left with oil smudges on exterior and not washed despite signing up for a package with a car wash. Promotional packages mailed to you do not match the services that are actually conducted. 4) Air in tires were filled up irregularly which required an additional stop to fix myself. 5) I never got a call back when inspection was complete, because they logged an incorrect phone number to our profile. Find a local mechanic that has incentive to keep your business and offer you a great experience. I will not be going back. read more

Terrible experience and regretting going the dealership. Do not buy your Vehicle from these guys. I purchased a Kia EV6 for $56k from them about 5 weeks ago. It was a fair experience at first, not perfect but not enough for me to really complain about. First of all, they gave me the car with the almost no charge. Secondly the, the car did not have floor mats when they gave it to me. My salesguy Eric promised me floor mats by the following Monday, fine. Thirdly, about a week later, the paint above my front paper license plate started fading very badly. I believe maybe the paper plate was rubbing up against it in the wind and damaged the paint. Cheap paint in my opinion. I told their customer service team about it but they basically told its no their problem. Back to my mats, Monday comes around he says they are on back order and he will call me. Two weeks I call to follow up, he tells me that someone gave them away by accident and that he will order me new ones. Eric continuously asked me to fill out an internal survey so after getting the the run around I fill out the survey and basically give them a bad review. The finance guy was bad, was not really that helpful, didn't explain the rebates to me correctly, was trying to hard sell me on the warranty package, etc. I also mentioned that the salesman promised me mats but never delivered. Eric then proceeds to harass me via text a few days later demanding an explanation on why I gave him a bad survey. Um, excuse me? Apparently he thought him and I were friends and he had the right to harass a customer for being honest. I told him exactly why and he kept going on and on being super aggressive. I finally told him that he and I are NOT friends and that he is being very unprofessional for even contacting me regarding this matter. He then again, continues to argue with me. He only stopped when I threatened to contact his manager. Its been one bad experience after another. Arnold the manager never returned my calls after multiple messages. This is how they treat customers. I will post pictures of the text messages and paint fading later tonight. Follow Up: 06/02/2022 I just received a call from Evangeline who is the customer relations manager. Apparently she has the same problem as everyone else in the dealership. She told me that they are not the manufacturer and they cant control how the cars are made. I told her that wasn't the point. Eric promised me and I expected to receive what I was promised. She then proceeds to tell me she read the messages and basically disregarded the employees behavior as and I quote " well we just figured it just the way you and Eric communicated". I told her, that I am a business professional it was absolutely not the way we communicated. I also told her that I wrote bad reviews. She told me (exact words), " All of this over some car mats??" . I told her NO its not about the car mats, its about your employee sending me harassing's text messages for being honest on a survey. The car mats are about the principle. I told her that I didn't like how she was not defending me as a customer and that I wanted to speak to their general manager. Doubt I will even get a call or the mats. LOL Don't waste your hard earned money on these guys. One of my colleagues asked me about my car and asked me if I had a guy that I worked with. Told them the car was great but the dealership and salesman were no good. I'm sure he will be buying one, but not at Van Nuys Kia. read more

Not so lucky today. I had to wait three long hours, after having an appointment, for a simple oil change which the rep. estimated to take 90 min. When I told the rep. that I live far and wish they told me in the beginning the wait will be double, he said, "Why don't you live close by?!" Strange. He also reassured me he applied the Kia coupon I showed him with the estimate, but at the end the coupon wasn't added in the bill. We've spent the past several weeks searching for a good new or late-model used Seltos, and as everyone knows prices are insane right now, dealers don't have cars on the lot, etc. It's been more than a bit frustrating. Just today I decided to widen my search parameters and I checked the Van Nuys Kia website, even though they are further from home than several other dealers. They had the exact car we wanted with only a few hundred miles on it, and the pricing was in-line with other dealers. I received an almost immediate e-mail reply to my first inquiry from Diana in sales, then a follow-up from Maggie in Internet Sales. We drove out and they were excellent throughout the entire process. No pressure at all, they respected our budget and only briefly touched on the usual extended warranty and some other options, and when we made it clear the price was already at the max we wanted to pay, they did not push the issue. We agreed on a deal and then we moved to Finance, and Delmy made the experience pretty much painless. Very clear, super concise, and she was very friendly the entire time, even though it was nearing the end of a long and busy work day. Everyone else we encountered was friendly; as we waited around at various times, someone from the dealership would often check on us and ask if we needed anything. We took the car home and I am very happy to have found this dealership. I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family. This review is about the experience I had with their pre-owned sales staff. I had narrowed my car search down to two models and the one Van Nuys had was my preferred car. The listed price was reasonable and I drove 80 minutes to get there after making an appointment. The vehicle was not in a driveable condition and the sales rep said that a rodent must have gnawed through a wire overnight. Huh? I asked what repairs had been made to the vehicle after they purchased it. We went inside the shop where a screen showed several repairs including brakes. It also indicated that the struts were leaking and there was possible damage in the wheel wells. No repairs were scheduled. We went back to the showroom and the salesman pitched me on the $1,800 of dealer recommendations. I declined and asked for a discount. The manager didn't seem to listen. The sales rep said that if I hadn't asked for what was repaired, I would have bought the car since it was a good deal. End of conversation. read more

He explained the differences between each of the models in a way that was so easy to understand. He made sure I was comfortable during the test drive and walked me through all of the bells and whistles in the car. Fraudulent warranty claim filed by Van Nuys Kia using my personal records. During a call regarding another claim, my third-party CPO warranty holder, JM&A, informed me of an $1800 repair ordered in March 2023 using my vin, warranty and vehicle information. I have not returned to this dealership since June of 2022 and this 2023 repair was ordered by the same service advisor. The vehicle mileage in this service record does not match other records of my car's service history. Take your car elsewhere. read more
