This whole experience was AWFUL. I highly don't recommend coming here especially if you're "Latino". My partner and I were hoping to purchase a vehicle at this dealership. Russel De La Torre, the car salesman, seemed great at first until his true colors were shown towards the exit. We arrived at 8 o'clock in the evening. De La Torre was able to let us drive the vehicle that we liked and once we were done, he wanted to discuss the process in his cubicle. We were looking to put a small down payment at first on the $25K vehicle (keep in mind that this is a basic sedan car). During the process, we kept getting interrupted by his cellphone twice. His girlfriend kept calling and we had to wait for him since we were on "his time". I let the first phone call slide but the second phone call seemed extremely unprofessional by then. Moving forward, he gave us an APR was around 3% because of a promotion with KIA; however, our monthly payments for an overall roughly $36K vehicle (with a $5K mark up, taxes, dmv fees and accessories) for 72 months were going to be around $500. This is a BASIC new car, a 2022 model, and putting 7K down. He also kept insulting and belittling my math because my calculations were wrong. He said a comment, "I don't know what school you went to but your math is wrong." Compared to his high school diploma knowledge, I didn't need a computer to finalizing any math problems. Also, no one ever pays the bare minimum on a car payment. It's logical but according to him, it seemed like a great deal. He showed us on his computer that even with 20K down, our monthly payments were still going to be $500 and yet, MY math was wrong. He also mentioned that if we're Latinos he'll "help us out". I don't understand why ethnicities or even race has to be involved if he was going to take advantage of a sale. I'm assuming if you're Latino you'll get screwed over like we did and possibly insult you. Towards the end of the process, he wasn't helping us out, all he was able to do was lower $10 on the monthly payment LOL, and our credit scores are way above average. He said credit isn't important when it comes to purchasing a vehicle...shocker. We told him we'd rather go somewhere else so we got up and headed towards the door. He sarcastically said, "goOoOoOd LuUuuUck". All we said was thank you so my partner walked in front of me to hold the door. As soon as I had one foot stepped out, I heard him say, "fucking idiots". Their was a family in the lobby and looked shocked when De La Torre said his comment ,so I responded, "What did you say to me?" and he raised his voice and said, "NOTHING" and walked away. We're no longer coming back here and I hope no "Latino" comes to this place and gets treated the way we did. We waited a couple of days to see if they would give us a courtesy call like a decent car dealership would and they didn't. It's unfortunate that throughout your high school years they don't teach you etiquette but working with customer service should build your persona. read more

Rude rude rude. Went there to buy a new car for our son last week and a pod of salesmen we're hovering in the parking lot. First one came over with his mask at his chin and was insulted we asked him to put it on. We asked to sit in a K5 in the lot and he said ok but another guy came over and said there were no K5s, none, we could sit in. His mask was under his nose. Not only were they totally disinterested in helping us but covid protocol was not taken seriously. They were more interested in chit chatting in their man-group than helping us. I bought my EV6 from here last week. Jessenya was the internet sales manager who talked to me, shared the quote and fixed the deal. She was wonderful to work with, and helped get everything ready for me as I flew down to LA to pick up the car [yes, I went from Bay area to LA to buy the car, such are the times :-)..] At the dealership, they were ready with all the documentation for me. Melany was the sales person who worked with me at the dealership, took me for the test drive, explained to me the quirks and features of the car. She was really helpful, considerate and answered all my dumb questions. She stayed with me till I drove the car out of the dealership. Thanks a lot Melany!!! Jhohan at finance was also great, he finished the process real quick (without pushing BS add-ons on me) so that I could drive my car back without any delay. Overall a great experience and would recommend this dealership. But yes, negotiate to get a good price. [markup - yes, I paid 1.5k USD markup (no other add-ons or BS packages), but it is considerably lower than most other dealers. Also, I was trying to close the deal before CVRP changed its guidelines] (There is only one dealership in California who doesnt charge markup for Kia - but they had no stock. Do NOT trust the Yelp reviews you see here about Van Nuys Kia. Checkout the BBB (Better Business Bureau) for accurate reviews/ information on Van Nuys Kia. You must NOT trust this dealership and the individuals employed here. This kia dealership and its representatives in Van Nuys has proven to not only be completely unprofessional, incompetent, and negligent but, also downright criminal. After taking months to finally repair my car (a separate reason I brought it in to be serviced) they then ended up damaging it while in their possession. The manager promised to repair my car and have it fixed for me. Yet instead, he waited some time then told me that it would cost too much for them to fix it. I then tried to help and took my car to a local body shop and got an estimate that was very reasonable. I sent that estimate to the manager and waited for a response which he never returned my calls, text messages, or emails. So I ended up just taking my car over to the dealership and dropping it off. I waited over a month and they did not do anything but let my car sit there and collect dirt and dust in their lot. Not once did the manager or anyone communicate with me. And when I returned in-person and asked for my car back after all this time he sent another rep to tell me that they would not be fixing my car. They made up a fake reason that I agreed with them that it was already damaged before I brought it in to them and then told me to go. I felt threatened and worried about my personal safety so I did just that and left. (with only about 9 miles charge- my car is an EV so they didn't even bother to charge it.) Do NOT take your car to this dealership, they are not good people, to say the least, and they are very very untrustworthy. By the way, I responded to Angeline, client relations, and the manager, Arnold Gonsalves, at this Van Nuys Kia and they never called me back. I was suppose to get a call back by last Friday at the latest from Angeline and I also called and left multiple messages for the manager, Arnold Gonsalves but of course like everything else you guys can't even keep your word on that. It just validates everything I stated about your company. Do NOT take your car here for service. From the basic rep's to management these guys are complete con artists. They will say one thing and then do another. Their word means absolutely nothing. They don't care, it's all bs. They are the worst kind of people. Complete liers, cheats, scammers, and criminals. I had a great experience leasing my new Kia Niro EX Premium (hybrid) at Van Nuys Kia. I had a Niro previously so I'm well aware of all the amazing technology features and the fantastic gas mileage. I'm already getting over 50 mpg. The employees at Van Nuys Kia made leasing this car a very easy and pleasant experience. Our sales rep, Jessenya, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was not rushed at all and was made to feel welcome. She checked in with me after I had the car for a few days to make sure everything was fine. Update--I took my wife's car back in for an oil change today and showed a printed copy of my review (I also had a copy of my initial receipt). I was immediately informed that the sales person who initially helped my wife leading me to write a negative review of the Van Nuys Kia Service Department no longer worked there. The new sales person attending to me for my visit today was very professional, proactive and immediately texted a copy of my review to the general manager. Within 5-10 minutes, I was on the phone with the general manager who first offered me a free oil change. I explained I almost had to spend $3000, and I was only spared the $1600 sensor cost after I personally caught the recall online which is covered by Kia for our Optima Hybrid. Thankfully everything was free (much more than just an oil change as well as a wash/detail of our Optima Hybrid) for this visit, so I am grateful the staff at Kia in Van Nuys went out of their way to accommodate my wife and me. read more

I purchased a used vehicle from Van Nuys Kia on December 18th and in hindsight I wish gone to a different dealership. In my defense, I was sort of stuck as I had just sold my car and needed another vehicle asap. I have been a Kia owner for over 20 years, so I figured I would go to the local dealership instead of ubering out to Cerritos. First of all, I only became aware of the "optional accessories" when I was in the middle of executing the paperwork to purchase the car. I remember it vividly because I commented how they were "mandatory, optional accessories" since they had already been installed on the vehicle. This information was not disclosed before hand, ethically it seems that it should have been, but it was not. There wasn't a price sticker listing the information about the car and I trusted what the dealership had posted on their website. I should have known better and walked away from the deal but I didn't. Okay, my fault, they got me...buyer beware. Optional (already installed=mandatory) Accessories: ELO GPS - $599 (I was told this would reduce my car insurance, not true) Carefree Paint Protection - $550 Nitrofill - $199 (special air for tires-WTF!) 3M edge guard - $550 btw...these are ALL accessories I would have NEVER opted for had I truly had the option to do so. Additionally, there is a piece of window trim missing from the passenger side rear window of the vehicle. Following the test drive I was told had been ordered and would be replaced. It's been over a month and I have yet to receive a call to bring in the car so it can be fixed. And I was told that they would look into providing a 2nd key as I only received one, obviously I am still waiting. I have reached out several times, no response. Hopefully the tags for the car's registration will arrive soon. I was told that the sticker on my windshield will cover me until February...which is next week. Driving around with 2020 license tags is somewhat unnerving but I am going to remain hopeful about this particular matter and have faith that I will not have to reach out to DMV to remedy it. I tried calling today and pretty much got the run around (lots of "um, um, um"). Instead of getting angry I decided to write this review so that others can avoid having a similar experience. Needless to say this has been a very disappointing experience for me. If you are considering purchasing a Kia please do yourself a favor and do not purchase it from Van Nuys Kia as their sales tactics are questionable and customer service is lacking. Not trustworthy! Bought my Kia Telluride here, so I've been coming to Van Nuys Kia to get the warranty service. First time was oil change and they said car was washed and was ready for pick up. Car was not washed. Made be think what else can they lie about? Did they even do the oil change? It was pricey. Second time I went back. Gave them benefit of doubt that they were busy first time. Got another 15k service close to $300. This time they washed it. But forgot to tell me there was a nail in one of my tires. I drove away without noticing the writing on my tire. They should've mentioned it and asked to fix it instead of saying car is complete. It unsafe and dangerous. This is not the service I'd expect or want. This Van Nuys Kia service is NOT a dependable place to get service. Do not go! read more
