I'm gonna tell you a story and let you decide if you want to do business with these people. I took my 2016 Kia Soul in on a Monday experiencing loss of power. Tuesday no contact, Wednesday I tried to call service center all day couldn't get a live person on the phone. Thursday I still couldn't get a hold of a live person so I called the dealership. A manager said he would walk over check it out and call me back he never did. To get any info I had to drive down there. They told me I needed a whole new engine and quoted me $16,000. I told them that wasn't gonna happen I would pick the car up tomorrow. But needed to get something out of the glove box. They drove me over to the shop. What I saw was a garage full of chaos. So the next day I took the car to an AAA certified mechanic who works on Kia. A day of diagnostics showed engine was fine but the catalytic Converter was bad. Pricey but nowhere near $16k. I asked the shop two simple questions. 1. Would a new engine have fixed this? No. 2. Should Kia Van Nuys have been able do this diagnostic? Yes. As far as I'm concerned they decided it wasn't worth there effort to fix my car. So they quoted me an insane price. I'm never going back because I have seen their service center is a mess. You must NOT trust this dealership and the individuals employed here. This kia dealership and its representatives in Van Nuys has proven to not only be completely unprofessional, incompetent, and negligent but, also downright criminal. After taking months to finally repair my car (a separate reason I brought it in to be serviced) they then ended up damaging it while in their possession. The manager promised to repair my car and have it fixed for me. Yet instead, he waited some time then told me that it would cost too much for them to fix it. I then tried to help and took my car to a local body shop and got an estimate that was very reasonable. I sent that estimate to the manager and waited for a response which he never returned my calls, text messages, or emails. So I ended up just taking my car over to the dealership and dropping it off. I waited over a month and they did not do anything but let my car sit there and collect dirt and dust in their lot. Not once did the manager or anyone communicate with me. And when I returned in-person and asked for my car back after all this time he sent another rep to tell me that they would not be fixing my car. They made up a fake reason that I agreed with them that it was already damaged before I brought it in to them and then told me to go. I felt threatened and worried about my personal safety so I did just that and left. (with only about 9 miles charge- my car is an EV so they didn't even bother to charge it.) Do NOT take your car to this dealership, they are not good people, to say the least, and they are very very untrustworthy. By the way, I responded to Angeline, client relations, and the manager, Arnold Gonsalves, at this Van Nuys Kia and they never called me back. I was suppose to get a call back by last Friday at the latest from Angeline and I also called and left multiple messages for the manager, Arnold Gonsalves but of course like everything else you guys can't even keep your word on that. It just validates everything I stated about your company. Do NOT take your car here for service. From the basic rep's to management these guys are complete con artists. They will say one thing and then do another. Their word means absolutely nothing. They don't care, it's all bs. They are the worst kind of people. Complete liers, cheats, scammers, and criminals. Not trustworthy! Bought my Kia Telluride here, so I've been coming to Van Nuys Kia to get the warranty service. First time was oil change and they said car was washed and was ready for pick up. Car was not washed. Made be think what else can they lie about? Did they even do the oil change? It was pricey. Second time I went back. Gave them benefit of doubt that they were busy first time. Got another 15k service close to $300. This time they washed it. But forgot to tell me there was a nail in one of my tires. I drove away without noticing the writing on my tire. They should've mentioned it and asked to fix it instead of saying car is complete. It unsafe and dangerous. This is not the service I'd expect or want. For a scheduled appointment. Behind three other cars in the service line. Without any acknowledgement or explanation from the service department. When I was finally next in line, I overheard the gentleman in the car ahead say he had an appointment for an oil change. The service rep asked a tech if they could get the oil change finished within 2.5 hours, to which he said yes, and then I watched his car get parked on the street. Update--I took my wife's car back in for an oil change today and showed a printed copy of my review (I also had a copy of my initial receipt). I was immediately informed that the sales person who initially helped my wife leading me to write a negative review of the Van Nuys Kia Service Department no longer worked there. The new sales person attending to me for my visit today was very professional, proactive and immediately texted a copy of my review to the general manager. Within 5-10 minutes, I was on the phone with the general manager who first offered me a free oil change. I explained I almost had to spend $3000, and I was only spared the $1600 sensor cost after I personally caught the recall online which is covered by Kia for our Optima Hybrid. Thankfully everything was free (much more than just an oil change as well as a wash/detail of our Optima Hybrid) for this visit, so I am grateful the staff at Kia in Van Nuys went out of their way to accommodate my wife and me. read more

AVOID this dealership at all cost!!!! I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with the purchase of my used non Kia vehicle sales experience, you will be told numerous lies, forced to buy ridiculous "installed" Add Ons and have to haggle back and forth about how and why you do not need them! They will try and sneak run your credit and lie and say it's to just "verify" who you are even after you tell them you already have financing through a credit union. The form thAt they hand for you to sign clearly states right at top that it is a credit application!!!! This place has a typical "used car sales person" vibe and are totally unprofessional and lack basic customer service! I can't imagine that they will be in business long. Let's now talk about how my check engine light comes on literally not even into my 2nd week having my car. I take it in and George has someone from service to look at it and the tech from service simply clears the check engine light and tells me oh that is old from the history not being cleared and assured me that there is nothing wrong with my car!! I look at him and say are you sure because I took it to Auto Zone and used the diagnosis device and a code definitely came up...he says again nothing is wrong lol. Guess what pops on the very next day? Check engine light!!! I take it back again and the receptionist refers me to Service Department Manager Emir K. I tell him what's going on and he says all his mechanic are in a meeting and to wait, 2 hours later Oscar comes and runs the diagnostic and finds that I have an EVAP system issue and need a canister purge valve replacement part and it should take 2 days to receive part and abt 2 hours for labor and that's it. He takes me back to the service office and relays this to Emir and he says ok I'll order the part and call you when it's here so you can bring your car in. Ummm, that was 3 weeks ago!!! I've been up there 2 times after this day and told by Emir I'm sorry that part is on back order and it will take longer so come back next Wed...also I checked this part is readily available at all major auto part stores, I go back Wed then he hides in his office and I have to deal with Jonathan who then has to text message Emir even though he's right there in his mirrored office!!! Emir tells Jonathan to tell me that 1 of the 3 parts are in so we are just waiting!!! Wtf!!! What 3 parts it is only 1!!! Emir is a liar, inadequate at his job and has no business working in customer service! I tell him it's 1 part not 3 you guys are bogus, and ask well tell me the name of the 3 parts and then he started stuttering and stumbling on his words while now relaying this to me while on the phone w Emir even though he's literally right across the way! He cld not tell me 3 parts but did try to break up the name of actual part and trying to make it seem like 3..who does that I am not an idiot and it is extremely insulting. It is 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting for that call back for my 1 car part!!! This place is a joke, unorganized, zero customer service, and has a business model based on deceit, incompetence, and dishonesty. Go elsewhere and stay free and clear from here! My salesperson was RJ who wasn't that bad, but the sales managers Sunni and Ali were dishonest, rude, and lacked customer service which takes everything away from your car buying experience. I would have loved to give them zero stars but as that is not an option they get one. My wife's 2015 Kia Sorrento needed to be repaired so we made an appointment with the service department and dropped the car off on Monday. It is now late afternoon Thursday and we have not received an update on the status of our vehicle. We left 2 messages with the service advisor on Monday and he did not return our calls. On Tuesday morning we finally got him on the phone for the first time and discovered that he had not even checked our vehicle in yet. He also informed us that the 7 other cars on his case load for Tuesday were now ahead of us to be seen despite the fact that our car had been there for almost 24 hours. He told us that he would provide an update on the issue by end of day Wednesday. Needless to say he never called us with that update. Fast forward to today (Thursday), they have now had the vehicle for 4 days and we have still not received a single update on the status. I personally have called the service department 3 times today every time being assured that someone would call me back with an update shortly, and my wife left a 4th message with the service advisor. I also left a message for the manager of the Service Department. None of these calls/messages have been returned. I have since reached out to Kia's Corporate Customer Service and opened a ticket with them to get status on my vehicle and I have yet to hear back from them either. Up until now I would say that we had been very satisfied with our vehicle and for the most part with the few interactions we have had with the service department at First Kia in Simi Valley, which is where we purchased the vehicle. So happy in fact that we were seriously considering upgrading to the Telluride in the next few months. That is now completely off the table. I have never had a worse customer service experience with any company as I have had with Kia of Van Nuys. Run, don't walk, as fast as you can to another dealership if not another manufacturer. Brianna - Being that this is the only response that I have received from your dealership in a week, I appreciate the response. However, I am not looking for apologies I am looking for an update and some acceptable level of customer service.
