As always when I need something quick to eat and light on my pallet and easy on my pocket, I stopped here. I got push pop with the hot Cheetos amazing and all my whole favorite spicy California roll. Could be easy breezy this week.

Awesome concept, great sushi but it's pricy....especially since it's strictly take out and if you sit there then you sit on wooden picnic tables. I can pay the same amount in a sit down restaurant and actually the rolls are bigger too. We each got 1 roll.....we really wanted the sushi pop but they were sold out. I am sure they are very popular. I got the B Herman Roll for $15 and I do not remember what my friend got. You order, you wait and you get your sushi in a to go container. They have a station that has everything you need including soy sauce, chop sticks, napkins and water bowls for your dog. I would go back for the sushi pop because it's a unique concept and I want to try it but I would rather visit one of their restaurants and pay the same amount for the same roll. Or go to another sushi restaurant and pay the same amount and get a bigger roll. But I sure do want that sushi pop.

A cool trendy spot! The location and spot are really cool, especially if you come with friends! Sadly the sushi itself wasn't anything to write home about for me, but the "plating" in the tube is a cool idea! I wish that they had wasabi! The price is also a big dealbreaker for me, it was super expensive. There's not a ton of seating, so we had to eat in our car. The service was pretty quick, but the employees had contradicting answers to our questions. I know it's still a new business, so they're probably still getting in a flow! Overall, it's worth a try if you're a sushi fan!

I wanted something I could eat that was quick and fresh, so I decided to try Vang's. Vang's took over the old Gourmet Gang to go spot in Haygood Shopping Center. The building now looks super cool with a 90s graffiti vibe! It looks like it should be sitting in LA or NY somewhere! There is a drive up side and then there is a walk up side with a few tables for outside seating. The staff is super nice. They greeted me immediately and were talkative and friendly. I will say I think their rolls are a little expensive compared to your traditional sushi spots. I paid $16 for one roll. I had the Norman, and it was really good. It was raw tuna and topped with shrimp tempura. Super fresh! The rolls are not prepackaged; they are made fresh so there is a little bit of a wait time. I would come back to try some other rolls, but if I wanted multiple rolls at a time I think I'd stick to my normal sushi spots from a price standpoint!

POV: you said "just one roll" but ended up ordering several Vang's Sushi Shack does NOT miss this spring I loved that this Sushi Shack was quick and convenient. The sushi was fresh. I liked the feel of the place with amazing music. Overall, Vang's Sushi Shack is doing their thing. Fresh ingredients, solid variety, and perfect for a chill sushi run this season. If you're in Virginia Beach and craving sushi, this spot is definitely worth checking out. Vang's reminds me of a cool shack or food truck-style setup and serves fresh, tasty sushi. The quality definitely didn't disappoint. The only downside was the wait--it took about 30 minutes for our order, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. If you don't mind waiting a bit for sushi, it's worth checking out!

Located in the kiosk that previously Gourmet Gang was located in on Independence Blvd. Staff was friendly and service was so quick. I got the cucumber salad and the real 456 roll. So many to choose from and all looked delicious. Stop by and check them out, you won't regret it!

Tried the new Vang's Sushi Shack today! Quick and fresh food is always a plus. Convenient location with drive thru, ample parking and outdoor seating. Will definitely be back to try more rolls

    Avocado roll

I'd like to start by saying I almost never leave mediocre reviews- ESPEICALLY for small businesses! But I was fairly disappointed with my Uber Eats order. I ordered an avocado roll for $9 and some beef rice. The beef friend rice was EXCELLENT. But, the avocado roll was just really not great. There was one slice of avocado and towards the end of the roll the pieces of avocado were smaller than a corn kernel. It was $9 for probably the worst roll I've had quality wise. Hopefully next time there will be a redemption and I can change my review!

The exterior is really cool! Staff was really nice and came out to give us a punch card too. I didn't love the tempura shrimp on thr Norman roll, we ended up picking it off but the 456 was delicious! I'd definitely try it again

This is their menu that is on the side of the building!

I loved the two sushi that i ordered! It did not take too long, it was maybe a 10 minute wait, and everyone was professional. Its really cool that they are a drive through type of place!

Customer service was amazing, my avocado roll was very fresh and the pickled ginger was yummy. I love the vibe of being able to sit outside and wait on your sushi. I really wish they had more vegetarian options. It all sounds very amazing.

That being said, I ordered from Sushi Vice. I'm not hating it. Before I placed my order with DoorDash, I actually called the restaurant and requested that they include cups of soy sauce and chopsticks, etc., because I was staying in the hotel. I only did this because if you order off DoorDash's menu, you cannot include Notes to the restaurant. It's ridiculous. With all that being said, I could not believe it when my order arrived it was exactly as I requested. It's not really a sushi joint. It's more of an Asian fusion type place and they have a very limited menu, but what they do have is very, very good. I highly recommend trying that beef fried rice thing. I've included a picture of it. It was freaking awesome. You won't be disappointed, but I would strongly suggest going to the restaurant and you'll probably even have a better meal. The next time I'm in Virginia Beach, which is quite often I'll probably just drop in to the restaurant myself.

The dining area inside is small, but it can still accommodate maybe one big group. There's also outdoor seating available. We came for an early dinner on a weekday, and it started getting busy pretty quickly. They were able to accommodate our large party inside since we had little kids with us, though we did have to split into two tables. Since we had small kids, the menu doesn't really cater much to them aside from the fried rice, but they were able to make a non-spicy version upon request. I did expect the food to be a bit larger for the price and portion size, so that was a little disappointing. The kids, however, enjoyed the fried rice, and you really can't go wrong with the drinks. Our tab came out to a little over $340. Overall, this place was just okay for us.

That small gesture made us feel really welcomed! I didn't try the sushi this time, but I ordered the ramen and takoyaki. The takoyaki was unfortunately a little cold, but it was still tasty. The ramen came in a generous portion and was really satisfying! This was completely my own money, and I always like sharing my honest experience. I ordered the spicy umami miso ramen with tofu, karaage, and a soft-boiled egg, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. I'll admit I went a little overboard with the add-ons, but I was just too excited and couldn't resist. It's a hidden gem tucked into a shopping center and easy to miss from the main road, but there's plenty of parking and once you're inside it's much more spacious than it looks. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and everything came out fresh. Prices were very reasonable too, especially for the portion sizes and quality. There's also a wide menu beyond ramen, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more. Before leaving, I grabbed a brown sugar boba milk tea too. I was already full, so I saved it for later--but even then, it was still really good. Overall, a great first experience--I'll definitely be returning!

We decided to give Saruki Japanese Hibachi a try on a weeknight and were seated after only about a five-minute wait. One thing we really enjoyed was having the hibachi table to ourselves. Unlike many hibachi experiences where you're seated with other parties, it was just my family, which made for a more relaxed dinner. Our chef was entertaining without being over the top, and the cooking was done well. The steak and scallops were both cooked perfectly, which we appreciated. The meal came with the standard vegetables, although we noticed there were no bean sprouts, which are common at many hibachi restaurants in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We also missed the traditional dipping sauces that usually accompany hibachi meals. Instead, we were served a mayo-based sauce that wasn't really to our taste. The staff was happy to provide Sriracha when requested, which helped. Service was decent, and the food was good overall. However, with restaurant prices being what they are today, the experience didn't quite stand out enough for us to make a return visit. It wasn't a bad meal by any means--just one that ultimately felt a bit forgettable. This version comes across as fair and constructive while still explaining why you likely won't be back.
