I love diners and small family owned restaurants. Why? Because, usually, they try hard to make good food and serve their customers well. I thought this was going to be one of those places. First off, when you enter, there is a bucket holding open the door because water is dripping from above it. This didn't bother me much. It's a dive after all. It is very small, so my son and I opted to sit at the counter facing the parking lot. The woman working, I assume the owner, was nice enough. She took our order. My son got the special French toast. Basically, it was French toast with fruit on top. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Our order comes out. The French toast looked like it was just dipped in scrambled eggs. It was literally yellow. My son said that is exactly what it tasted like. Egg dipped bread. My eggs benedict came out with so much hollandaise sauce that you could barely see anything underneath it. It was edible, but not great. The hash browns were probably the worst I have ever had. They tasted like the freeze dried type you buy at Costco. Horrible. While we were there the family next to us was from the Big Island and they were saying how good everything was and how they came because of the Yelp reviews. I know they had the eggs benedict also. My son and I laughed outside because we were like that was one of the worst breakfasts we've ever had. The best thing was the oranges served as a garnish. Like I said, I feel bad when I have to give a mom and pop place a bad review, but I would also feel bad saying it was better than it actually was. If they could up their game, add some milk or cream to their French toast dip, make some real hash browns or at least frozen ones, not serve excessive amounts of hollandaise (and make better hollandaise), and basically serve good food, it would be an improvement. There aren't many breakfast sit down places in the area. They were nice enough people so service wasn't an issue. I will give a better rating when food may be okay but service is attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, that was the only thing acceptable about this. So, they get one star for the service and one star for the oranges and other fruit on top of the French toast. I know, I know. But, they chose the fruit, so that is worthy of a star. read more

Menu is simple and effective and oh so yummy. Some of my favs are blueberry pancakes and any breakfast sandwich (I upgrade to the croissant for $1 more. Coffees and cappuccinos are solid. Thought I'd check this place out on our last day in the area. I passed it up initially as I didn't realize it was inside a small strip mall. There is parking out front and it wasn't busy. The inside is small so I wouldn't come with too big of a party. There were 2 of us and we shared the deluxe French toast, which includes topping of banana or blueberry and bacon or sausage. Found this place nearby where our hotel was located and so glad they were open. Most breakfast places open at a later time and with my kids being early birds, they were hungry at 7am. The place can be easily missed as it isn't surrounded by other eatery places. Once you walk in, you feel like you are inside someone's home with all the trinkets, antiques and the wall art. Small restaurant with two workers which I'm going to guess are the owners as well. They treated us very well and even entertained our kids with some of the musical toys they had. What a stumble upon! I'm leaving full and happy after having great service and outstanding food at Vanta Cafe. Definitely not a touristy spot, this little cafe has charm and character along with slammin' breakfast. I had the spam eggs Benedict - while I wouldn't normally get spam I had to in Hawaii and it was pretty good. Three eggs were poached to perfection and the whole thing was covered in the most delicious hollandaise sauce. This will be one of my little Maui go-tos any time I come back to the island! read more

Excellent food and service! I'm very picky about my Eggs Benedict and this didn't disappoint. My better half scarfed his down his Denver omelette before I could snap a picture. It's a smaller space but the servings are large so make sure you go hungry. Prices are very reasonable. Wouldn't change a thing! One of the best breakfasts we had on island. Lots of specials so look around the walls and ask your server. There are lots of options so there should be something for everyone including those with allergies. This place is very small maybe about 20 people can fit however there is great pictures and maps on the wall you can even pin your city on the map. Our breakfast was great, you can tell they take their time for your individual order so it may take some time but you are in turn receiving a hot cooked delicious meal. I heard about this hidden gem and have been wanting to try it. It's located in the Wailuku Industrial area across from Maui Office Machines. There is plenty of parking. This place is tiny! There is one 4-seat table, three 2-seat tables, four seats at the window counter, and a 2-seat table outside. The 4-seat table can be reserved in advance. The decor is quaint and includes maps that you can add a pin on the location you're from. So cute! They serve American-style breakfasts, Korean soup, smoothies and coffees. We ordered the ramen noodle soup and Korean fried rice omelette with hash browns. You can order the soup mild or spicy. The spicy was almost too spicy so next time we would order medium spicy. But it was good and included mushrooms and round onions. The kimchi fried rice omelette and hashbowns potions were big and could easily be shared. It came with a package of Korean nori which was a nice surprise. The fried rice was perfectly fluffy and not too spicy. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They don't add seasoning so you can add your own at the table. The soft drinks are served in cans with a cup of ice. We've found our new favorite brunch spot! read more

Me and my beautiful wife agreed to split or meals to share, I snuck a couple early bites and man o man THAT was some good stuff, the kimchee was very flavorful but not overpowering the rice was fluffy and amazing. Eggs are eggs but they were cooked perfectly. I had the eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon for those who dont know the difference between Canadian Bacon and ham it is the part of the pig it comes from ( yes I googled it). But I digress, ham, sausage, and even spam are options for the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was good and plenty. (Loved it) I had hashbrowns with the meal and it was well cooked perfectly the right crunch on the outside the flavor and softness on the inside yum yum. Remember I said "we agreed" to share, that women of mine loved her meal so much she changed the deal to :you eat your and I eat mine" . It was that good , BUT SO WAS MINE so all was well in the world. I don't usually speak on the coffee but dang it was delicious, smallest amount of aftertaste that every coffee has, but the less the aftertaste the better the coffee and this coffee had very little and therefore very awesome. The tchotkes covering the shelves and walls give it a homey feel. The owner runs the place and engages with all customers, known and unknown. I think mostly regulars come to this spot off the beaten path in an old section of Wailuku, and it's kind of like Cheers: The owner knows everybody's name. (If you want to hide in a corner in obscurity, this is not the place.) Uncle staffs the small kitchen in the back. The food menu is small and consists mostly of breakfast and Korean specialties. Portions are dauntingly large, daring you to finish all the food. I had pancakes, a sausage patty, two strips of bacon, and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were light and fluffy. It was all good. I wasn't hungry again for hours. The husband in the family next to us had the mandoo soup and the bowl was huge. There are also smoothies and coffee drinks, which is to be expected given it's name of "coffee hub." However, the espresso machine was broken. This appears to be common, based on what is written in other reviews. The parking lot can get clogged, since the restaurant is in a two-story strip mall. There's also street parking.
