We now have a 4 month old and feel so blessed to raise her in such a friendly and cozy environment. When I first applied, I was a little difficult working with and Rich was nothing but kind and gave us the benefit of the doubt and rented to us! Thank goodness! This place is quiet, always clean and well kept, never has there been a problem, everyone is friendly and respectful, and Alejandro is always a text or call away to fix any of your problems or answer questions! This is the third apartment complex I've lived in and by far my favorite seriously this place is a gem - because of this complex, my husband and I would love to settle here in Thousand Oaks. If you're hesitant, just call for a tour and let the place speak for itself!

From the front of the building you can't even tell it's an apartment complex of 65 units, pool, with a court yard that makes you feel your on vacation. From the first day I meet with Leah ( Property Manger) she made me feel at home ! Leah spent over 3 hours taking me to different units all over the building, I couldn't make up my mind which floor , what side of building I wanted . Leah was so patient and from that day I knew this was home for my family . This past year with everything that has happened, Leah has made sure the community here stays safe and happy . Leah lives on site and it's nice to know that if I or my family ever need anything she is only a phone call away . A perfect example is I work 38 miles away from home . One day my daughter called and needed help, and I called Leah and with any hesitation Leah was in my house helping my daughter. There have been times when Leah has checked on my dogs . Like I said in the beginning you can't judge a place by a review . Come down or call and see what you and your family missing out on. Add to the top the gas and electricity bill and you get around $400 just for utilities, while other places in Simi Valley charge around $140-$180. Please double check is everything correct whit that shady Conservice which have active class action lawsuit going.

The new director is the least personable, her door is always closed she never is out with the residents. Marge the longest running original director was very visible to the residents. They cannot keep staff. There has not been a physical therapist in over a year. The shuttle driver is constantly changing. They cannot keep maintenance staffed. Don't get me started on the food. The care and satisfaction of the residents have declined immensely since the change to "The Sunrise Corp Way".

She's the best and has helped us from the beginning when we moved in, during our time here always being a friendly face and giving my son little stickers and goodies when we go into the office, to now our move out. We've toured a few different apartments in Simi Valley and we kept saying: take us back to Shadow Ridge! Nothing compares. Having moved several times over the years (including two inter-state moves) and reviewing many properties in my search of places to live, all too often I have read many negative reviews on the management staff. My review is not going to be one of them. The staff--Angel, Kevin and Marisela--have been great! They have made our 16 months here an enjoyable one. They manage the property very well, are professional, and are good about handling the various issues that arise. I have never had a hard time reaching them at the office nor had to with them responding to my emails/phone calls. Alex and Andy handle maintenance do excellent work! They have been quick to respond to maintenance requests we have had and get things fixed in a timely manner. They are a great maintenance team. I will genuinely miss the staff here. Visitor parking is extremely limited, and the same cars seem to occupy those spots indefinitely--possibly broken down? On one occasion, I was even blocked into a space by someone who left their car behind mine. To make matters worse, my car has been towed before. If you have somewhere to be, plan on being late. When I brought up my concerns, I was told to park on the street and walk to my apartment. Great - just what I wanted: a 40-minute round-trip walk for a 2-minute task. Maybe consider towing the cars that sit in visitor spots for days on end? Just a thought. Walking around the complex isn't much better. You might pass by the occasional drug lab - yes, I'm serious. First floor. The police are here frequently, so forget about peace and quiet. Oh, and let's talk about the BLACK MOLD in the apartment. I'm highly allergic to mold to the point I have to take medication. This issue needs immediate attention from health professionals. And if they don't take action, I will make sure it is dealt with. Honestly, I don't understand how this place is still operational. OH also, you wanted a gated community, think again. The gates don't ever work and are always stuck open. Fix your issues.

I have secured parking plus plenty of guest parking. I have easy access to the Ventura Freeway without the noise and smog. Unlike the Los Angeles basin Agoura Hills provides fresh clean air and a sense of community with an emphasis on healthy living, education and family. My neighbors, of all age groups, reflect those values. I was originally looking into a 55+ community where I could maintain a home office and be close to my grandchildren. Then my son asked, "So Papa, what do you plan to do for the next 30 years?" Maintenance team is wonderful but they are backed up and take a while to make it out. Admin isnt there regularly. They are there random days and times. Calling their office is directed to a robot operator and there is no way to directly contact someone. Just have to hope someone is in the office. At midnight when your "moisture sensor" is going off leave 10 emergency requests on the phone through the robot for an hour until someone might respond. Looks nice until you live there
