There is a small private room to set up a table of food, place some tabletop games and listen to the music, host a meeting, have small gatherings or other type of event. They do offer different events in the main room and for the birthday I attended there; karaoke was then offered later that night. It seems there are some regulars who turn out for that so it's definitely a great neighborhood spot for regulars and newcomers alike. We initially chose the first table, assuming the tear was minor, but after taking a closer look, we realized it was much more significant than expected. We immediately requested to switch to the second table with the lighting issue, which worked out fine for us. However, when it came time to check out, another slightly younger, taller staff member with long brown hair informed us that we would be charged for both tables for the 3-4 hours we were there, even though we only used one. My coworker, who prefers to avoid confrontation, ended up paying. I did ask to speak with the older gentleman we had originally spoken to, but he was busy bartending at the time, and I had to leave to catch my Uber. I believe this situation could have been resolved more fairly with clearer communication. I've always enjoyed coming here for drinks and pool, and we make a point to tip well. That said, this experience was disappointing. While I understand that the establishment may have its challenges, better communication and customer service would go a long way. We're easygoing and patient--especially since we work in the restaurant industry ourselves--but being charged for something we didn't use (that other guests were using--mind you) despite addressing the issue upfront, felt unreasonable. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider returning. There are other nearby places with well-maintained tables and better customer service that I would likely choose instead. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this situation warranted sharing. I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
