Interesting-I think my review will be some what similar to others I have read. So I went earlier…read moretoday because I needed a new grip for my pickleball racket. As I was looking at the immense number of grips to choose from, I asked a younger girl who worked there which she would suggest and she just pointed and said any. So I was still confused-so I asked another associate who was stringing a tennis racket and he also sort of gave a half ass answer and called for another associate. The employees were not very friendly or helpful-hence I am not giving five stars. However, I finally got the right person-seemed like the manager and she was fantastic. She spent about 20 minutes trying to peal apart my old grip--using all sorts of tools and it was disintegrating in her hands, so I felt really bad. Once she managed to get it off she put on the new grip for me, which was so nice--she really went out of her way to make sure it worked, so I appreciated that. Also-their selection is fabulous--at least in the pickleball area where I was looking--tons of rackets to demo, grips, bags, tennis/pickleball attire etc. I will definitely will go back in the future, if I need other pickleball items, just hoping the employees won't look so annoyed and disinterested if I ask a question.

I also asked to try multiple pairs and he kept giving me attitude. I wish I knew this persons name, but he was tall with an odd looking goatee and had his shirt tucked in. Every time he gave me a pair of shoes he would walk away and begin talking with his other co worker. However, the older gentleman at the front counter who I assume is the owner of the place helped me with the questions I had. I hope he realizes the person that helped me was one lazy and odd individual. Other than him making my first experience bad and weird, everyone else that worked there was lovely.

Instead of going back for more abuse, I found Miller's. The store has a classic look from when it first opened decades ago. Inside the store, I also experienced old fashioned courtesy and professionalism. I originally entered the store on Mamaroneck Avenue and went downstairs with my bicycle. Martín tested out a pump I considered purchasing by pumping air into both of my flat bicycle tires. It was a great experience I'd highly recommend. After my purchase, Martin raised the big door for me (which opened onto Phillips Park Road). I rolled out of there a happy customer!

Having much experience with bicycle shops over my 50 plus years plus I was surprised when they had an advertisement in a Bicycle trade paper for a floor manager. I went in for the ''interview'' during Covid and was given a Half Attention dialog/interview with the owner and concluded they are guilty of ageism pure and simple. To make matters more egregious, i subsequently stopped by to pay a token visit as a customer to actually purchase a maintenance product and was given that same blank stare. I have urged all my serious cyclist friends since to avoid said establishment, especially if you are over 50 years old. Sorry to write, some people never get it or have courtesy. Ray K.

It was not a 'busy day,' considering the shop was completely empty. Hence why you were sitting comfortably in a chair at the back of the store doing absolutely nothing. And if the music was so unbearably loud that you had to raise your voice just to speak, maybe turn the volume down. Yelp exists for exactly this reason--when businesses fail to meet basic expectations. You don't get to silence feedback just because you don't like it. If you spent less time attacking customers and more time improving, maybe you'd get fewer bad reviews. In regards to my review on a restaurant, (which you are weird for looking through my reviews)-Imagine going to the best steakhouse in NYC, spending a small fortune, and getting your steak wrong, but you just sit there quietly. That's not how things work. If you think I'm wrong for speaking up, maybe it's because you're the type who'd stay silent and let poor service slide. You must not be familiar with how customer service works in 2025. When a customer feels mistreated, they leave feedback. But you already know this because your other reviews highlight how rude you are and the lack of common sense in running your business. She was fitted for a size 1 ice skate and I was hesitant because I had just sized up her sneakers to 2s. I was assured there was plenty of room and deferred to them on it. Of course a month later she was complaining about them being too small. We came back to Peck's and they exchanged them for 2s and only subtracted $20 from the refund for her having worn them for a month. They had some scuffs and the insoles showed her feet print but they were otherwise in pristine condition. It was a better deal than I hoped for and I sincerely appreciate the accommodation of her growing feet. It goes to show how important customer service is because we will for sure be customers for life now (she really loves skating so it seems like we will stick with it, ha see what I did there?). A few…read morehours later I received a phone call from (I think) the owners wife saying that the website was wrong and they didn't have item in stock, then had me talk to her husband about why they stopped stocking the longer grip. After speaking to him I decided on the normal length grip and he gave me one of their overgrips to try for free. I would have been happy with just an email but a personal phone call is above awesome customer service. I highly recommend shopping from them and will definitely be a return customer.
