The food was good but do not recommend for a large group as they did not inform us of the prix fixe menu til we got there. I made the reservation request through the website as it stated for 6 or more to do so. When I made the request I had to click a few boxes saying we'd be charge for late or cancelation per person, terms of service, etc. I got a call from the manager to confirm the reservation time, we went back and forth a few calls got it squared away and I was sent a confirmation on resy. To this point no prix fixe menu was mentioned or written anywhere. We arrived to the restaurant on time with our group and lo and behold prix fixe menu. I ask the manager about it she says she was the one I spoke to on the phone and she said it was a box we check when we confirm on the website. I showed her on my phone the box wasn't there and let her know I made the reservation on a computer and it wasn't there in that format either. I asked if she would honor the regular menu since we had people with dietary restrictions that made it difficult to order off the prix fixe menu and she said no because on her side it shows the box is there so we were informed. Despite me showing her on the customer interface it says nothing. So my vegetarian friend spent $65 on vegetable and a truffle pizza. $65 prix fixe menu is a rip off most of the app and main combinations are cheaper if you ordered them off the regular menu and the prix fixe came with smaller app portions then the regular menu. I was floored at the lack of hospitality by the manager. The only place I see the prix fixe stated is on the normal resy page which you can't book a group of this size on or on the prix fixe menu listed on the website which you would never look at unless you knew you had to order off it. My group was severely disappointed as we didn't get the meals we had wanted to order as they weren't on the special menu. Many of us didn't drink cause we weren't planning to spend $65 on a pizza. My husband and I had an excellent meal here. We were the last to be seated before they closed. I thought they might rush us, but the man (French) who I think might be the owner, seated us and was very gracious. Service was great and the food was delicious with generous portions. We got the chicken tortilla soup, TX carpaccio, burrata salad and French dip. The soup was good. The carpaccio was very good, but the slices were a little thick. It made them a little chewy, instead of it melt in your mouth. The burrata salad was much larger than I expected. It is an entire meal by itself! Burrata was very tasty, but the texture inside wasn't as smooth as I expected. It was definitely creamy though. The highlight of our meal was my husband's French dip sandwich. It was flavorful, well spiced, the meat was almost paper thin and there was a lot of it. The jus was just as good as the sandwich. My husband said it was the best he's ever had. Overall, it was a great dining experience and we both felt it was worth every penny we paid. The crackers they give you at the beginning of the meal is worth mentioning too. It was a wide variety of high quality crackers. This is definitely worth visiting and if you're a French dip fan, you're in for a treat. read more

Customer service is awful. Had a reservation that we showed up on time for and notice a table available as we walked in and figured it was ours. We were told we had to wait for a table to be cleared and it would be a few minutes. After a 10 minute wait we asked about the vacant table and we were told they were holding it for someone that had not arrived yet even though they have a no holding tables policy! We asked to speak to the manager and they said it was a special request and she would go check on another table. She came back acting like she had moved heaven and earth to seat us 15 minutes late only to take us to the original empty table! Rude and incompetent best describes the his situation. read more

During our recent trip to Fredericksburg we found this place on accident. Most places on Main Street were closed because it was Monday so we decided to stop by Vaudeville because it was open. WHAT A GREAT ACCIDENT! This place was Incredible! The restaurant is downstairs and has a high class wine seller vibe. The service was EXCELLENT. We were seated quickly and our server took great care of us. We ordered the cheese board...it was an easy 10/10. The cheese was great on its own but the pairings took the selected cheeses to a whole new level. It was FANTASTIC! My wife and I split the French dip sandwich...which was also amazing. The side salad was fresh, the house made chips were fresh. The French dip was probably the best I've ever had. The beef was cooked medium to medium rare though, just a heads up! For dessert we split a pain au chocolate and I had some straight espresso. Again...incredible. The pain was buttery and delicious and the espresso was delicious with notes of dark chocolate that balanced perfectly with the pastry. We will be back! Expensive...and worth every penny read more

Called two weeks before visiting town for a reservation, they took my name and number down because the "reservation person" was out that day. They said they would call back the next day to confirm. Never got a call back. Called a couple days later to confirm, they said they have a new system and we need to go on Resy. They never saw the reservation request. Ok...? She said she can't take a reservation over the phone (lol since when was this the case anywhere?) and there were still two tables at our 8:30pm time. We get off the phone and check Resy, there's nothing except a 5pm. Called multiple times only for a waitress to answer the phone who try to fix the situation but the manager refused to speak to us. We had reservations to dine for lunch at Vaudeville. We got there a little early so we waited for our table since we were a group of nine. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She explained some of the dishes when we asked for specifics. We decided on some appetizers before going for our main entrees. I had the braised pork belly taco which was very good. It was laid on puréed eggplant which worked very well with the pork. The restaurant itself was nicely laid out and was situated below a shop. The collard greens that came with it were perfectly crispy and not overly salted, the mashed potatoes were buttery smooth, and the corn bread was scrumptious! The rueben sandwich on marble rye was delicious as well. The portions are great for sharing if you want to try a bit of everything. DRINKS: Mimosas and Bellinis! Worth ordering! And tons of wine to choose from. DESSERTS: Quite a few items on the menu. Highly recommend the s'mores cookie. You can order those to go on your way out too. Highly recommend going to Vaudeville when in Fredericksburg. The restaurant is in the downstairs of the Vaudeville store which is upstairs. A great place to shop before dinner. We did the prix fixe menu as it is required for all reservations on Friday and Saturday's. It came with the choice of an appetizer and entree for $62. A great deal! I had the beef carpaccio and grilled lamb rack. 10/10 for both. I mean really this was one of the better meals I have had in awhile. Sheesh where do I start... The crab curry was sooo dang good. Don't get the cup like me, get the bowl and thank me later. The Pizza was good, came with olives though I asked for them to be removed. My fingers work just fine so not an issue, just hate to waste food. The lamb rack was something else man. Had a perfect crust and cooked to perfection. Even the potatoes were amazing. We came for brunch/lunch on a Sunday and joined the line of people waiting for it to open. We ended up having to wait about 30-40 min for a table for 5, so we killed time in a nearby store. I ordered the power bowl and added chicken, while my friends ordered a mix of Reubens and the club on 9 grain. As someone who loves a healthy amount of vegetables, I really enjoyed the power bowl along with the sauces it came with. My friends all seemed to enjoy their sandwiches as well. This was the best part of my trip to Fredericksburg TX. I went here on a day trip with a friend and there's plenty to see like the wildflower center or the museums, shops on Maine Street, of course the wineries but this meal was my favorite part of the visit. I also appreciate being able to be seated pretty quickly even though we didn't have a reservation. When you first enter it's a luxury shop but as soon as you walk in the restaurant is a quick left down the stairs into a basement that is dimly lit and super cFun fact, we had no idea where to eat. I looked up a few places on Yelp and chose this place! Menu was bomb and so was our server. Loved all the food we ordered. After I got to work on Monday a friend who had eaten there said next time do the burrata. I bet it's amazing because the homemade ricotta and noodles on my Lasagna was so freaking good. Parking is plenty, we parked in the courthouse/library parking and walked a couple blocks to Vaudeville. Enjoy! read more

Honestly, I really wasn't expecting a small hidden restaurant in Fredricksburg to have such amazing food! Everything about our trip here was on point, from the charcuterie, the attentive service, and the black truffle pizza (definitely a highlight of the meal). I also got the octopus dish here, and honestly, that was probably the only thing I regret getting as the octopus was unpleasantly soft and mushy. The ambiance here was unmatched by any other place in Fredricksberg. I was a bit concerned that Vaudeville would deliver on flavor but not portion but I was totally wrong! But first, lets talk about the ambiance. Fredericksburg is a beautiful and historic town with historic architecture. This quaint and snug dining establishment is underground, beneath an exquisite and unique boutique that carries rare items for the patron that delights in extremes, to say the least. To get to the restaurant you need to go down a beautiful stairwell that gives off a modern-marries-vintage vibe. The oversized BISTRO sign is the first thing you see going down the stairs before you get to the hostess stand. The walls are lines with wine bottles and Fischer & Wiser sauces and spreads, and off to the side of that they have all their baked goods in a glass case. We started off with the burrata which is served with a lovely salad and crusty bread, absolutely perfect. The asparagus were grilled to perfection, not too soft, not too firm, and they had a great flavor! I wish I could order it as an entire side! The Reuben was everything you would expect it to be. If you mess up a Reuben, you need to shut your doors or take it off the menu, and Vaudeville did it right! Filled with pastrami, oozing melted gruyer cheese, and a Brussel sprout kraut, on marbled rye! The sandwich is huge and even good reheated the next day. We also had the roasted chicken sandwich which as absolutely devine! I was so impressed by the succulence of the chicken! Super moist and full of flavor. And the grilled mushrooms and fire roasted red peppers truly took it over the top. For dessert we tried the white chocolate blackberry cashew cookie, which was the least impressive of the whole experience, the flavor was good, just not what I expected, but not enough for me to take away a star. It was very heavy and had more oats than blackberry, white chocolate, or cashew. It was very heavy and dense and I did not find that the ingredients were evenly distributed. The cookie was great when you got a bite of everything in one bite but there were only a few of those considering the size. We are looking forward to going on a Friday to try the Lump Crab Coconut Curry though, we will definitely be back! And next time I am ordering the pistachio tiramisu for dessert! We were in Fredericksburg and wanted to find a good place to eat, and we chose Vaudeville. Located on the main strip of town, Vaudeville boasts a very nice store upstairs and a very nice restaurant downstairs. There is usually a wait, but they do have a waitlist where they take your cell# and send you a text when your table is ready. The restaurant is fairly large with seating for probably 50-60 people (maybe more). They have a wide variety of options to eat, but they do not have a fountain for drinks so no "arnold palmers". They do have bottled drinks both non-alcohol as well as wine, beer and champagne. We chose the Vaudeville Club and Reuben sandwiches. When we got them, we realized we probably could have split a meal as the portions are very generous. We had great service too, so all in all the dining experience was great. The restaurant closes early (I think at 3pm) so plan accordingly. I would recommend this restaurant for sure. 5 stars. read more
