(FYI, This is a review of a massage I received from Deirdre Morrison.) When I went to my massage, I had just come back from a trip, and I was feeling the stress of airplanes, airports, different beds, time change on my body. When I walked in for my massage, my body just felt "off." Deirdre made me feel really at home in the office and asked me a few questions about what I wanted for my massage. What was cool is that I could tell she really paid attention to what I had said, because she was focusing on the parts of my body I had talked about. And she seemed to know exactly what my body was going to need based on what I had said. She did some mixtures of massage and stretching simultaneously that released some tension that I'm not sure has ever happened. I was walking very differently out the door than when I walked in. Oh, and the massage seemed like it lasted forever! I was shocked that it had only been an hour, because it was a really comprehensive session. This definitely was not "paint by number" massage. Woooo boy! You have not Lived until you have had a massage from Deidre! A fantastic massage caps at a 10 for me, but Deidre cranks it up to 11! Not only does she respond incredibly well to feedback, but her intuitive skills are top notch. I am pretty picky about my massages, as most usually leave me feeling incomplete or off kilter. Not so with Deidre. I guarantee you will be a happy camper from head to toe by the time you roll off that massage table. I also wanted to mention Deidre's style to massage: it's unlike any I have ever received before. She has a wonderful, non-invasive way of massaging parts of the body that get skipped in normal massages (e.g. tissue behind the scalpulae) but oh MAN does it make a difference!! Abby has been such a great person to receive massage from! I am a massage therapist myself and highly recommend her massage experience! As a lot of the other reviews have said, she is very present when she's checking in with me about what is going on with my body. Her pressure always seems to be exactly what I need and she's great about checking in with me if I'm comfortable. I really appreciate that she understands that a person needs to feel comfortable and safe in order to have the best results with massage. I recently went with my boyfriend (for his birthday) to get first-time massages from Abby because I'd heard such good things. Since she only has one pair of hands, we took turns, and I couldn't have imagined a more amazing massage- birthday gift experience. Abby has such a genuinely warm demeanor and friendly smile, and her hands are truly a gift from out of this world.. She made us so comfortable, talking with us individually before each of our massages so we knew what to expect and didn't feel anxious. Abby is genuinely kind, warm, professional, and gives the BEST massage I've ever had. The ambiance of her office is quiet, clean, cozy and peaceful. There were zero outside noise interruptions during my 90 minute massage, and I really enjoy her ambient music selections. She also has an electric heating pad on her table which was ahhhh-mazing. She has over 10 years of experience, and it shows! She put me completely at ease before and during the massage, and I was dozing by the end of it. That has never happened to me before! I also sent my mom (who has moderate scoliosis and lumbar disc degeneration) to Abby during her two week visit, and my mom was so impressed she booked a second massage before she went home. Abby, Hannah, and Dierdre have what I would consider an ideal massage practice. They cover all of the bases so that any need you have can be met, and you can be confident in all of them to provide caring, effective service. They elevate massage from something that makes you feel good for an isolated period of time to something that is an active part of your overall wellbeing. As if that wasn't great enough, I can't get over how easy it is to schedule. It is surprising how many times I remember that I need to make a phone call or schedule an appointment after hours. With Abby, Hannah, and Dierdre, it makes no difference when I remember to schedule. I love that flexibility. I just had my first Ayurveda consultation with Carrie and it was amazing. She was so insightful and genuinely kind. She was also a wonderful listener. We talked in detail about the physical challenges I am experiencing, as well as my high stress levels. I am in my second trimester of pregnancy, and have been really struggling to maintain good nutrition and exercise while dealing with my stressful job. She is helping me create a meal plan, and gave me small steps I could start immediately to help me feel better and more balanced. I recently had a massage from Abbey in her space in the Pearl. The first thing I noticed was that parking was easy and the location is easy to find. I was warmly welcomed by Abby's great smile and offered some water where we then discussed the areas that I wanted her to focus on.
