"The salad was good", "the salmon was excellent" and apparently the sea bass that was not on the lunch menu is outstanding. I was a regular here for years. In my opinion, the quality and presentation of their food is as good as it gets in the area. I have had better sushi elsewhere, but Veekoo's is very good nonetheless. Depending on the chef and how busy they are, they may or may not serve you a veritable work of art. Where Veekoo really shines is their Chinese dishes. They have most of the "regular" dishes you expect to see as well as a premium menu. In all honesty I haven't disliked anything, and I've tried most everything they serve! My favorites are the hot and sour soup, szechuan chicken, and black pepper filet mignon. Due to their popularity they do get extremely busy on weekends and often there is a long wait even if you have a reservation. This is my go-to place for Asian cuisine. My go to dish is the extra spicy hunan pork, but every dish I have eaten here has been exquisite. The lunch special, which provides soup, a lunch entree, and a spring roll, all for around 8 bucks, is a great deal that I would eat every day if I lived near here. I've known Tony and his wife for years, and he is a super nice guy who runs a great establishment. I mostly get take-out, but the inside is gorgeous, as well, albeit a little cramped when busy. That's my only minor beef with VeeKoo, and I consider this establishment to be elite. Go here. You won't regret it. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed these guys earlier. I have been frequenting VeeKoo for 15 years. From the gate these folks have been amazing. Great customer service (John has been the face of the place for a long time and is extremely friendly) and amazing food. Their fusion is terrific. My favorite is the Malaysian Flat Rice Noodle dish. The food is delicious and fresh the only problem is they get so crowded between takeout orders and people waiting to be sat that it's almost like waiting in a crowded subway car. Hello yelpers, its the F5 hear with this weeks review! I have been to many restaurants but its rare for one to truly shine like Veekoo Asian Cuisine in Royersford, Pennsylvania. As soon as I walked in I was completely amazed by the beautiful and classy décor that had truly romantic atmosphere with its lighting and music that truly sets the mood for any occasion. But it takes more then just ambiance to win me over, for truly the restaurant can only be as strong as the service. The wait staff was extremely focused, friendly, and had consistent and well executed timing. Even the bussers were fast, efficient, and kept every detail up to expectation. While these are quite impressive details about this restaurant, the true key to its success is its outstanding food. Of course you cant have a nice dinner without a beverage. I chose to have a nice hot cup of green tea, but what I got was truly surprising. Most of the time for Chinese and Japanese restaurants they will give you a cup of tea strait from a tea bag. But not Veekoo, instead they gave out a teapot with green tea brewed from organic green tea leaves. I wasn't expecting much from a beverage, but if they put this much effort into a drink I couldn't imagine what was in store for me for the actual meal. I ordered for starters a dim sum sampler which included a veggie dumpling, a shrimp dumpling, a pork dumpling, a crab rangoon, and an eggroll. It came out at a spectacular pace but if it takes a little longer there is nuts and pickled cabbage. The flavors of each dumpling was simply amazing but the true star of this dish for me was the eggroll. For someone who doesn't like eggrolls they truly surprised me with a perfect crunch and delicious flavors. Its no question that I will be coming back for more of there amazing eggrolls. To think that it was only the beginning of this amazing dinner I moved onto the next course, a beautiful sushi roll known as the fancy dragon. I have always been a fan of sushi ever since I was little, but this roll was something that took my expectations of sushi to a whole new level. Before you eat with your mouth you always eat with your eyes. For me it was a pure example of art in the shape of food. The role featured beautiful coloration with the bright greens of avocado, bright orange coloration of the masago, and the gentle pink of the smoke salmon. But the taste was truly something to savor for its smoky taste of the smoke salmon and the cooked unagi (eel). To add more to the flavor they add a tangy eel sauce to the role that elevates things to a new level of flavors. the texture was a mix of crunchy from the shrimp tempura to a smooth silk like texture of the avocado and salmon. But after eating this amazing meal one thing really caught my eye, people can enjoy these amazing flavors at home with there take out. Most of the time when I get Chinese take out its ok but nothing really screams amazing at me at its flavors or textures. But Veekoo not only set a new bar for a dinning experience but also set a new bar for take out. For this reason and many others this restaurant gets a solid F5, meaning that it has met the true peak of my standards and have truly gone beyond what I would have expected. In my opinion this amazing restaurant takes the top of the list in my top favorite restaurants and I will definitely be coming back for more. I have heard from many of my friends that veekoo was the best place around to get sushi. I have live in LA for the last 5 years and over that time fell in love with sushi and became what can only be described as a "sushi snob." It had to be almost right out of the sea fresh and taste superb in order to do anything for me. I sat down and was greeted by a very friendly waitress who took our drink orders. Honestly I like Asian food but was here for the sushi. The lunch plates/deals were awesome and a great price for what seemed like a lot of food and so I ordered the salmon plate of sushi and rolls. It was amazing. A lot of sushi, so very fresh and melted in my mouth. Went here for dinner last night and their sushi was delicious! Very fresh and they didn't have one roll that was too expensive. Thought the prices were extremely reasonable given how big the rolls were. The special rolls were huge, you may only need one, and the regular rolls were larger than average too. We found the eel roll and rainbow roll to be rather bland but they were fresh. The lo mein noodles were good but the shrimp had a rather metallic taste. We let the waiter know that the shrimp was not good so he sent the manager over. Wanted to love this place because its close to Phoenixville and had good reviews but it fell well below our expectations. Veekoo is more of a cooked food and sushi roll house My wife and I love sashimi several times per week so we were hoping for a new go to place. The salads and the spicy tuna sashimi were soaked and dripping with too much dressing and spicy sauce. We had to customize our order to eliminate the cooked stuff like escolar (white tuna) and shrimp and the server was unable to help. He had to keep looking at the menu and really had no clue (lacked training) and was unable to understand him Our sashimi dinner, (tuna, salmon,yellow tail, fluke) arrived frozen....As we started to take our first bite we could feel the crunch of ice...One piece of salmon and tuna were frozen solid. Pieces were nice size but frozen...not edible They do not have ponzu sauce...The only positive part is that the manager came over and took it off our bill. As we walked out we noticed a lot of customers enjoying cooked food items and huge sushi rolls drenched in sauce...Its probable a solid place for that type of food but not sashimi or sushi...Will stick with Liki in Phoenixville... read more

I went to Veekoo Asian Cuisine which I've been there 2 other times and it's been good...I got chow keuh teow which I never had, but wanted a noodle dish. I asked the waiter the difference between that and Singapore rice noodles and he couldn't tell me bc he didn't understand English. I asked "what are the veggies and protein in this" and he said "flat noodle" and "ya". I decided to just go with it. The dish comes out and there was squid that the tentacles looked like a pine cone/the bark of a palm tree and super over cooked and rubbery. The sauce was this unappetizing yellow curry that didn't look appealing and there were a few bell peppers & chicken. I took 3-4 bites and couldn't even eat it. The female manager came over and I briefed her on what happened. She was very apologetic. She did not remove the item from the bill but it was only $13. Not sure if I'll go back. read more
