The interior is very "fancy" but not modern or stylish. The music made me feel like I was on call waiting for a company. They put cashews and a lettuce thing on the table when you get there but they are both unappetizing. With your bill they give you fortune cookies and a strange peeled orange. None of that stuff is necessary. Get rid of it, lower your prices a bit, maybe update the menu (it is kind of confusing there are 2 of them), update the atmosphere and they should be good to go. read more

Sushi was on our mind so we ordered the "Love Boat" which included 18 pieces of sashimi, 3 sushi rolls, miso soup and a salad for two. The fish was fresh but the boat did not include many of the greens we are accustomed to when eating sushi. The soup was very flavorful. The salad was a good size but the dressing was disappointing. This is my family's go-to Asian spot. We walked in and were seating immediately - which is always a plus after a long day of work when everyone is hangry. Service was prompt and helpful. We got a Spicy Tuna roll and the Szechuan Dumplings in Hot sauce as appetizers. These dumplings were delicious, I would put the sauce it came in on everything if I could. We asked for more so we could put it on our rice that came with our main dishes! My party of four got 2 orders of the General Tsos chicken, one Beef with Broccoli, and one special sushi roll. Everything was delicious! The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 was the General Tsos orders looked completely different. One was crispy and had darker sauce while the other was soggier and had a lighter brown sauce. Word to the wise: when ordering ask for extra crispy, it makes all the difference! Only ever had take out from here, but numerous times. I live in Collegeville, by Ursinus, and this is the best Asian restaurant around. I used to eat at Jasmine in Trappe, but that has seemed to go downhill a bit. Veekoo is not cheap, but I believe you get what you pay for. The chicken fried rice is the best around, the Pad Thai is pretty good as well, as well as the soups being very good. Never tried the sushi, so can't comment on that. I stopped by Veekoo on my way to the Outlets. Nice Asian fusion restaurant. The sushi was unexpectedly good and is made fresh to order. The sushi bar is separate from the regular dining area. The menu is a mix of Chinese and Thai, in addition to the Japanese. The soft shell crabs were delicious considering they're not really in season. Service was excellent! We had the most amazing dinner last night I'm still thinking about it! I never could imagine myself eating sushi after the last time I tried it, but I did and it was fabulous! Four stars, primarily for the sushi. While there's no dearth of places to get sushi in the area (assuming you don't mind supermarket sushi), the sushi at Veekoo is currently damned fine. Veeko is great as both an eat-in & take-out. The sushi and specialty rolls are fresh, beautifully presented and priced well. They are open to special requests as well. We've sampled their fresh scallop - if you have never had it right out of the shell arriving moments later to your table you are missing a rare treat. The Thai menu is limited but tasty (although I'd suggest its Americanized Thai). The Chinese menu is also good and has a few really good specialty dishes. It is not the basic Chinese take-out joint so expect to pay slightly more for really well done, fresh Asian food. read more

Visited 9/21. I forgot this place was BYOB, but there is a place right across the street to buy alcohol if you're interested. Our waitress was overly attentive to us for my taste, but we tipped well. I ordered the pink lady roll, another one and my step dad ordered the tiger roll. All were fantastic. They place is super cozy, upscale for the area, a nice break. Offers General Tsoas for the typical Chinese tack out laymen (no offense intended, I'm including that for my boyfriend's sake). I have really mixed feelings about my experience, my family and I went here on Saturday around 6:45pm to celebrate mine, and my dad's birthday, with no reservation. (We kinda decided last minute) We assumed we would have a wait. The hostess informed us it would be a ten minute wait, ten minutes turned into forty minutes. Our name was called and then abruptly turned back around when they then said they weren't ready yet. The waiting area was awkward and small and too busy as wait staff had to bustle through waiting customers to get to the sushi bar. We took notice that much of the beautifully displayed sushi dishes sat and waited for almost twenty, a few forty minutes before finally being picked up and taken to their respective tables. This was a turn off. We were finally taken to our table (8pm!!!) by a hostess who was incredibly apologetic and kind. She seemed to be in charge or something, but nevertheless she was charming. I think we had two or three different waiters. None of which were memorable. No apology for the wait. No apparent friendliness, personality, or effort to build upon our experience here. Only stopped by our table once to wordlessly fill water glasses. The service was very disappointing. The wait for our sushi wasn't terrible. There was no offer to order appetizers or etc. Waiter offered no suggestions. Food itself was delicious. Definitely a 5/5. Sushi was fresh and tasty, and a surprisingly huge portion to make up for the price. My family and I dined at Veekoo tonight. Recently my sister was diagnosed with a moderate allergy to gluten. When ordering her food she made sure to note that she had the allergy and asked that her food be made gluten free with gluten free soy sauce. When our food arrived we all dived right in and shortly she noticed that her sushi had a crunch like there was tempura mixed in. My mom tried it and sure enough there was. Within minutes my sister had bright red hives all over her neck. We called the waitress over and asked her if she had made sure that the sushi was made gluten free and she seemed confused. Turns out she didn't really understand what it meant and never relayed the allergy any of the chefs and or managers. After the food was returned the manager came out to apologize. We tried to explain the severity of the situation. That in this case my sister would be uncomfortable but she would live but someone else with an allergy might not have been so lucky. The manager although apologetic didn't seem too worried. I felt like the situation was treated the same way a manager would treat a customer that had been served an over cooked meal. I would not advise anyone who has an allergy to eat there. I'm really disappointed that they don't take things like this seriously because like I said to the manager someone could really get hurt. read more
