Seafood pizza on gf crust
Clara Y.

I was skeptical at first due to the poor reviews, but I recently "converted" to becoming a vegan and I really wanted pizza so I gave it a try! I ordered the seafood pizza and the ham and pineaplle pizza, but small. I made my pizza crust gluten free due to allergies and also ordered a beef donair! I liked it! Not sure why the reviews were so poor, but I had the right amount of toppings, cheese and it was delicious. The gf crust is very different than most regular pizza stores. Their crust is really thin, like a tortilla wrap. I'm not complaining though because if you've ever tried gluten free crust, you would know how horrendous it can taste The beef donair was soooo good!! It had little bits of fake meat, lettuce and some vegan mayo or ranch sauce which was quite liquidy, it also comes with onions, but I don't like onions. Their chicken donair comes with tomatos. But I was super inflammed after eating half due to it not being gluten free. Overall, this place is good and I will order from here again!

As I was alone, ordered vegan beef donair and taro bubble tea. Vegan beef was quite tasty but they put tons of onions and less tomato :( Totally onion breath after eating. Maybe I will try regular pizza next time. Taro nubble tea was kinda unique. Half tea and half slushy. And pearl was very very chewy/hard like gummy.

Mushrooms, Peppers, and Olives. Super thin crust.

4 Stars There is street parking on Kingsway outside of rush hour, and more around the surrounding residential area. First impressions, it's a tiny hole in the wall place. They crammed a couple of tables in the small area. We are not vegan, but wanted to try a healthier pizza option. We ordered: Combo #6 - any large 3 topping pizza, large lasagna, 2pcs garlic bread, tossed salad. ($29.95) Pizza - super thin crust so its floppy, i personally liked the chewy texture of the crust. It was really good. Lasagna - the vegan meat sauce was different, still tasty though. Garlic bread - slices were not consistent, not overly buttered like a lot of other places. Tossed salad - the dressing was really good. Service was ok. Took the person working the cash register a while to figure out how much change I should get back. Overall Experience: Service - 7/10 Cleanliness - 6.5/10 Food - 8.6/10 Value - 7/10 Parking - 7/10

Vegan Chicken Donair

Some really great options! I love that they offer sizes to their orders too, so I can try more :) I got the Vegan Chicken Donair and Vegan Chicken Caesar Salad. The donair was good, could have used a bit more flavour, but the salad was great! I can't wait to try more things on the menu.

Vegetarian special pizza and two other kinds (forgot which ones, sorry)

I am not a vegan. Actually, I'm not even close to being a vegan. If you talk to any of my friends, you'll know that I like the concept of being vegan, but I could never give up steak or other delicious, meaty foods. Thus, the fact that I find the vegan pizza here delicious should serve as a testament to just how good their food is. Their pizza crust is hands down some of the best that I've ever had, and I don't usually consider crust to be the selling point of a pizza for me. Furthermore, their fake meat toppings are surprisingly tasty as well. As for the ambience of the place, the service was good but the interior design could use a little work and modernization. Whether you're vegan or not, I would recommend giving this place a try if you're in the neighbourhood.

Vegan Pizza's gluten-free pizza crust topped with Daiya cheese, spinach, tomatoes, onion and hot pepper slices.

Raymond K. hit the nail on the head when he said it takes courage to make a vegan pizza place. But these guys did it! I found this place when I googled "Vegan gluten-free pizza Vancouver" and found this place. The gluten-free crusts at Boston Pizza and Me n Ed's were not options since neither place provides soy cheese and the crusts contain eggs (I developed an egg sensitivity). Friday afternoon, I went there and ordered a gluten-free medium pizza topped with spinach, tomatoes, onion and hot peppers. I took it home and it was surprisingly good. The crust was a bit tough on the edges but the toppings were plentiful and the cheese/sauce mix was ooey gooey! I shared some of it with my gluten-free neighbor and she loved it! I even gave her a flyer so she knows where to get it. I recommend this place for its friendly service (for now it's best to take out or eat in) and good pizza.

I used to think that Rebellious Tomato in DT have the best vegan & daiya cheese; VPH has just taken the hammer, ever so slightly. Let's face it, not a place to take a date but does the job. Good portions and while price is up there, so is the quality. Delivery and catering available. All cards. Parking challenging on Kingsway, plenty of side street parking. Friendly owner. Another bonus: workers use plastic gloves!

I had passed this place on Kingsway many, many times in the past 5 months and hadn't stopped in until now - mostly because I was transitioning to a raw vegan diet. As I have settled for a near raw vegan diet, an occasional cooked treat will be in order. Pizza is a pretty healthy food in general, and when vegan, even better. Over the years I've eaten many pizzas at traditional places, just without cheese, and it's been alright. The pizzas we had tonight here, though, were excellent - both when compared to other pizzerias we've tried, and making them ourselves. We had 2 - the Cooks Special and the Vegan Meat Lover (although I'm not typically a substitute meat lover kinda vegan). Both were very tasty, light and topped with Daiya cheese. I'm not a huge fan of substitute cheeses, either, especially Daiya, but it was just right on top. As well, the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous all the way along. And the atmosphere was nice - very pizza shop! You can tell they are excited about the food they are making and are continually trying to improve. They do have gluten-free crust options (which we would usually have, but didn't notice at first) for those who need to eat gluten-free. Although we didn't have any dessert this time, the selections in the dessert case looked scrumptious (chocolate peanut butter pucks, gluten free lemon cheesecake, a couple of other cakes) and we know one of the suppliers who often brings in her vegan desserts, which are fantastic. This is one of those places I would recommend for pizza, whether vegan or not. And, the prices were not prohibitive, considering you're getting a healthier meal.

Nasty lasagna. Covered in cheese and just noodles. No veggies. Gross

Update: After ordering delivery for a friend a second time, the pizza guy had a warmer box for the pizza. The pizza was slightly warmer. I still reheated it in the oven anyways as we like crispy and not sagging crust. Just thought I'd update that they tried.

Great people who really care about Vegan's choices being true Vegan's themselves. Pizza is amazing as is the Spaghetti and Lasagne. So friendly and I've not found a true 100% Vegan place in the area anywhere so they are worth coming back from even if I'm an hour away!

We found out about this place by the Chinese woman at one of the vegetarian stores in Crystal Mall (in Burnaby). She said her brother or son, can't remember which, owns the restaurant; she gave us a menu. I was expecting a Chinese version of pizza, especially since there were lots of interesting menu items and topping choices. Well, I guess that expectation turned out to be true, as there were some common menu items that people in the Asian community enjoy such as bubble tea, and the vegan meats were Asian style meat alternatives. Other than that, everything else was Western style. I was really intrigued by the Spanakopita as I hadn't had one since I gave up dairy in the early 90s. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The salad and flat-bread that came with it were also good. We got a small Basic Cheese, which comes with extra cheese -- plenty of cheese on there! I hate when pizza places skimp on the cheese (or anything!). We also got the Vegan Meat Lovers's pizza. I thought that they needed to use better vegan meats, such as Yves Pepperoni, and a better vegan ham, etc., but overall it was good. The vegan sausage was put on top, but not really a good idea since it gets dried up in the oven a bit, but of course everyone wants to see it... so, if you cover everything up with the cheese, they you get people saying, "I don't see anything..." who do you please? The crust was really good. Not as good as Jim's Pizza (vegan one) in Chilliwack (9218 Young Rd. location only), but good. I noticed some Supreme Master propaganda; I find such nonsense (con-artists) offensive, and couldn't help but compare this pizza to that pizza from the other Supreme Master supporter, Loving Hut; that pizza was not good at all, and the crust was gooey and reminded me of that 2-for-one low quality stuff); Vegan Pizza House's crust is a 6-or-7/10 (compared to ALL of the pizza I've ever tried in my life, vegan or not, home-made or not). The staff were very friendly and attentive. They are a new business, and seeing the older reviews, I think they've worked out a lot of kinks since they opened. It seems to basically be operated by some quite young and enthusiastic people, so hats off to them. There's seating for perhaps... ten people or so, so a nice cozy intimate hole-in-the-wall type of eatery. Everything was pretty clean and tidy, including the washroom. We stuffed ourselves, with leftovers to take home. For the three of us that cost $47. We'll be back.

Just arrived here at 1210. Yelp and the hours on the door clearly state that the business opens at 11:00 every day. There is no one here and the doors are locked. I made this trip from New Westminster to eat here based on the reviews. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother. An unreliable business is no business worth supporting. Spend your money at any number of other vegan restaurants. That's what I will do.

Hawaiian + Vegetarian special slices
Jezabel P.

Absolutely delicious, and cheap, vegan pizzas! I've ordered a Hawaiian + Special vegetarian slices the first time, and I loved it so I came back another day. Unfortunately, the Hawaiian and the Vegetarian special are the only ones they sell per slice, and if you want something else you'll have to buy a full pizza. So, I decided to order a pizza which was half "Meat Lover" and half "Seafood" to take home with me and refrigerate some slices. A real delight...so good I ate it all to myself for dinner... The place is also really small, it seems like there's always only one person working there. I wish they grow bigger and are able to offer more choices to buy per slice.

Ok ok, what's better than driving to Canada to eat vegan food, I'll tell you .. driving to Canada to eat vegan food while meeting new vegan friends! We decided to meet up at Mila Plant-Based, 100% vegan restaurant in the downtown area sort of right in-between Downtown Eastside, Science World, and Gastown. The restaurant has a lovely, quaint ambiance, feels very welcoming upon entering. The bathroom was .. well, posh! I don't normally make a point to comment on bathroom decor, while average in size, I felt like I was being upgraded to First Class lol. Ok, moving right along .. lol They have two menus, a Weekend Brunch Menu and, for all other hours, a Lunch/Dinner Menu, ..we ordered from the Weekend Brunch Menu. I had the Bibimbap Bowl - rice bowl with Yo Egg, mushroom bacon, kimchi, tempura yam, cucumber, carrot, gochujang sauce. This bowl had many layers of unique flavors all married perfectly in every exquisite bite, I say this very sincerely! My wife ordered the Pina Colada Pancakes - pancakes, toasted coconut syrup, cashews, cocktail cherries, rum-candied pineapple, mint. Each bite easily lived up to the the decadence displayed in the included image. We absolutely have to find our way back to Mila to try their Lunch/Dinner menu as it includes some amazing sounding options such as, Feta Stuffed Date - date, feta, pistachio, olive oil, maldon salt, ABURI LOX OSHI - carrot lox, aburi sauce, shiso, serrano, 6 pieces, Tuna Crispy Rice - watermelon akami tuna, sushi rice, lime kewpie mayo, green onion, sesame seeds, 3 pieces, and much more. We had quite a few options to choose from regarding where to meet for brunch, with every option sounding wonderful in their own way. Ultimately, we decided on Mila because of their unique, fresh and inspiring sounding dishes and yeah, they did not disappoint. Thanks so much for dropping by and reading this review. Do yourself a favor and extend the same courtesy to Mila by ... dropping by .. and enjoying some amazing tasty food.

I had the Freaky Greeky with a yam-cassava crust. I chose that since the menu board boasted it's vitamin and mineral content. Sold!!! It had (what I assume was) Daiya Mozzarella and Cashew style feta, black olives, tomatoes, basil and walnuts. I have to say that the walnuts were the most pleasant surprise of the toppings. An added crunch and some true delicious flavor!! The crust, being GF and the specific ingredients, led it to be quite crunchy, but I love crunchy crusts. I hadn't had lunch but a few hours prior so I had half the pizza at dinner, than half before bed after drinks! Yum!!! My husband had the Samsara Sausage pizza. He said it was just okay. He said the sausage tasted like a Light life Hot Dog. Which is obviously NOT what you're going for with sausage. Our friends shared the Buffalo Buddha pizza and gave hubby their last piece. He said that was quite nice and he'd have had that again. They too had the GF Yam-cassava crust. I'd definitely get this pizza again but I would NOT walk here and preferably be in a group for safety.

The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

In the Bay Area we have Shizen/Tane and which I can safely say are still pretty different from Vegan Shoku. (Both are so good!!). Vegan Shoku uses konjac-based sashimi which allows for sashimi and nigiri that looks like its conventional fish counterparts. Today, we ordered 1. Salmon Eggplant This reminded me of nasu dengaku but with a "salmon salad" (think tuna salad) on top of charred eggplant. There was a miso sauce, the same that's used for nasu dengaku dressing the entire thing. The eggplant was creamy but not oil-laden, and the salmon worked nicely with the eggplant and miso dressing. Every bite was perfection. Each bite was garnished with fried carrot strings and beet. Sooooo good! 2. Shoku Roll We figured we should definitely order this since it's the restaurant's namesake. Since it was topped with mango & a popping boba, it had a hint of sweetness which was refreshing. 3. Dynamite Roll Absolutely gorgeous roll that packed as much flavor as it did color. The sweet, savory, creamy and crunchy.... this roll takes you on a journey and more! 4. Teriyaki Beef Roll Don't ask questions, just order this! It's like a beef donburi in roll form. 5. Salmon Nigiri I've never been a fan of seafood so this was a bit of a risky pick. Sure enough, it was too realistic for me so I had to hand it off to my bf to finish. For those who love and miss the taste of salmon, this is a must try! 6. Takoyaki While this looked like takoyaki, it definitely wasn't. They were still tasty but they were more like meatballs than anything. Takoyaki is supposed to have chunks of octopus (which when I make it at home, I use konyaku), shredded cabbage, ginger in a savory pancake-like batter cooked in a ball-shaped cast iron mold, topped with aonori, mayo and brown sauce. The meatballs were in a brown sauce of some kind and were incredibly robust and meaty. They were too meaty for my liking (some mock meats sort of gross me out!) but that's more of a preference thing and doesn't speak to the quality. It was very flavorful, it just wasn't for me. 7. Matcha Ice cream The ice cream looked like it was slice from a cake! Maybe they peeled back the paper carton of the ice cream and cut a slice from that. It looked super surgical and clean, like art! The flavor was super robust and matcha-y. It was not the typical (disappointing) green-colored ice cream that tasted mostly of vanilla and had hints of match. This was the real deal! What a rare find! It extremely pricey but it more than made up for all the times I've ordered green-colored matcha imposter ice creams, so get this if you are a matcha lover! Being how uncommon these types of restaurants are, the server was super patient in answering my questions and was helpful in making suggestions too. If I find myself in BC in the future, you can bet I'll be making another stop in here to try other items on their menu. This was such a treat!!

I think there was a bit too much rice used in the sushi. Smaller amounts of rice would have been preferred. Also, we found that the Salmon Avocado Oshi tasted just like the Tuna Avocado Oshi. Either that, or they gave us two identical sushi orders by mistake instead of 1 Salmon Avocado Oshi and 1 Tuna Avocado Oshi. I was kinda bummed that they didn't have their vegan spam that day. Hoping to go back some other day and try it. If it weren't for the vegan spam though, I probably wouldn't bother coming back to this restaurant again. Pains me to say that as I'm usually a huge supporter of plant based restaurants but...this restaurant was really just OK for me. Not horrible, but aside from wanting to try their vegan spam...the food just wasn't good enough for me to want to come back again.

The venue is nice and big and airy, with the 2 walls of solid windows. Great for people watching. The place is definitely modern and hipster looking. Maybe because it was a slow day, but staff were a bit lacking. Buddy and I walked in there and the place was empty. We looked around for a few minutes and literally nobody showed up. It was only after we had left and taken a few steps before someone suddenly appeared and motioned for us to come back inside. Although my buddy insisted the place sold burgers, something looked off. I also noticed the sign advertising "fysh tacos". The menu also listed a "chick'un burger". Confirmed with the waitress that the place is indeed 100% vegan. Oops. Oh well, we're here. Might as well give them a try. The chick'un burger is actually a slice of mushroom that has been battered and fried like fried chicken. Not sure if this is supposed to be the case, but the mushroom itself was actually quite bitter. Fortunately the batter masked the taste. The fries are pretty decent here. I also tried the Crispy BBQ burger. This thing tastes more like the run of the mill vegan patties out there in supermarkets. I think it was soy/tofu based. Interestling enough, the burgers actually have a Beyond upgrade for an additional fee, so I imagine the standard burger patties are made in house. I guess the place is worth checking out if one is vegan, but for those who aren't, there unfortunately isn't much for us here. I did hear the coffee here is pretty decent though. Maybe I'll give it a try next time.

Unfortunately, the menu doesn't have side dishes, so I ended up ordering the lemongrass vermicelli along with a guava juice instead. It turned out to be the same bottled guava juice you can easily find at the grocery store, just served in a glass and at restaurant prices. Then my lemongrass vermicelli arrived, and the server warned me to be careful because it was very hot. That definitely caught me off guard! When I think of vermicelli bowls, I picture cool noodles, crisp vegetables, fragrant herbs, and a refreshing meal perfect for a sunny day. This version was served piping hot, making it feel more comforting than refreshing. That said, the dish was still packed with flavour. The fragrant lemongrass aroma filled the bowl, the vegetables added plenty of texture, and the savoury components came together nicely. Getting to experience a Michelin Guide-recommended vegan restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip! We had (from the June 2025 menu): the Bread, the Broccolini, the Chickpea Tofu, and the Potato Cavatelli. Not a single crumb, morsel, drizzle of sauce, or even pea was left on the plates! Every bite was so full of flavor and decadent, we were so sad when the meal was over ;) The stand-out though was the Chickpea Tofu, the best tofu we've ever had and it seemed to just melt in your mouth. We also loved sitting at the bar that overlooks the open kitchen. They offer those seats for guests who want a more immersive, interactive dining experience. It was really cool to watch the chefs create each masterpiece. Overall a truly memorable and delicious experience!

Yum yum YUM!! We are not vegan but we loved every single thing we tried!…read more The bread was phenomenal and perfectly crusted and fluffy. The beet tartare was great with the hazelnuts. Broccoli and zucchini had such amazing sauces on them and OMG spaghettini was phenomenal. MUST order Service was pleasant and quick! They helped with suggestions and I appreciated the explanation when each dish came out. Lovely space inside and had a nice little corner to carry on lovely conversation. Would go back again -- and soon! They change their menu every few weeks.
