It blows my mind that anyone would rate Vegan Vato less than 5 stars. This place was incredible. I got the Crunchwrap and the loaded fries with asada and the flavor was unmatched. 100% recommend.

New Mexico Impossible Burger (that means green chilies among other condiments) and fries.

We decided to come to the Differential Brewery (reviewed separately) last night specifically because the Vegan Vato (Vegan Dude) food truck would be there. We arrived about 4:30 and started with a round of beers. A few minutes later we saw the truck pull up and start prepping for service. After checking their menu on their website as and verifying our selections with the menu board, we walked up and placed our order. Though the chef was still prepping it was no problem to enter our order into his system. When it was ready (and it didn't take too long) a text alerted us that it was ready. The burger was thick and juicy with just the right amount of onions, mushrooms and green chile -- spicy but not overwhelming. An ample amount of fries made for a delicious and filling meal. The others in our party enjoyed their food too. If you are at the brewery (or anywhere else the Vegan Vato shows up--don't let the fact it is vegan deter you from ordering--the flavors and portions should satisfy even the most carnivorous eaters among us.

I have been following on FB Vegan Vato back when ir was a food truck, always said I was going to eat there. I finally came to ABQ and tried the food and it was amazing! So good we order to eat in and then ordered to take back to the airbnb. Recommend this place.

The Vegan food here is so good. Everything we had was spot on delicious! Breakfast items awesome. Lunch items awesome

This is the location of where you can find really good vegan. The 3 amigos are very good. It is hard to find good vegan cheese.

The cheese dip is really good. I would drive 30 minutes to get it. Friendly. I like that it is small. Excellent NMCali burro.

Wow, I can't believe I am reviewing a vegan joint. These guys were in front of Marble West tonight. We got the loaded fries and wow.... So good! It was hearty even without meat and the flavors were just right with Green and Red chiles. If you get a chance to try it, I highly recommend it. And I would order it again.

i got the crunchwrap, my husband got the quesadillas

The food tastes like it came out of a frozen bag and the owner is really creepy to interact with. Won't be returning.

I came near closing, but service was still awesome. The lady behind the counter was super patient with me as I scanned the menu and tried to figure out what I wanted to order. I was dinner so I opted for a Birria burrito, then added on a Birria taco and a carne asada taco. There were two people ahead of me so my food was a little slow to come but I tell ya: it was worth the wait. My picture doesn't really do this justice. The burrito is fucking huge. One of the biggest I've ever had. I wish I knew how big it was ahead of time, cause I would not have ordered the tacos. Or maybe I would have cause the tacos were chonky and so damned good too. Going back to the birria burrito.. wow. It was packed full of birria with some rice and beans. The ratio is AMAZING for us meat lovers. I could only stomach half the burrito, plus the two tacos. Was able to save the other half for lunch tomorrow. Still super duper tasty. The birria was very very juicy and tender flavorful. Lord, mouth is watering just thinking about it. The other amazing part? The PRICE. That giant birria burrito was $11.99. I defy you to find a place with a better price to portion ratio than this. Especially in this economy. I'm definitely coming back, cause apparently the other burritos are even BIGGER according to the staff. Price, taste, quantity. Can't be beat. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you skip this spot. Or maybe skip it, so they don't get overhyped and jack up their prices. (yeah, I'm a little selfish XD)

My lasted venture with their eats happened at High and Dry Brewing. It was my first time at the brewery so I was happy to see a familiar food truck when I walked up. It was the one year anniversary of High and Dry so it was a perfect day for them to post up. I know that I like their chicken bite but I wanted something different and opted for the California Chicken sandwich. Upon first glance it looked pretty basic but I was very pleasantly won over by the sandwich after the first bite. Yes, it this is a fried chicken breast, but it is very lightly battered/breaded and is cooked perfectly! The chicken is soft and moist not hard and dry. It is also not a dainty sandwich, filled with cheese, avocado, mustard, pickles, tomatoes and onion so make sure to get a napkin. I cleaned my plate. Cajun fries and all. I'm looking forward to the next time I happen across the Blazin Barn. I want to try something else from their menu....if I can refrain from ordering the California Chicken again.

My only criticism is that my friend had to munch only on the fries because there weren't many small vegetarian friendly options and that I was hoping for more ketchup since we got a big serving of fries (good, well made, not greasy and yummy fries).

My dad grabbed the classic smash with a chicharron. My brother went with the 505 green chili burque smash. When I saw the other sandwiches on separate posters by the order window I was torn between the 505 or the Al Gueye Lucy. I asked the cashier which one they thought was better and they suggested the Al Guey Lucy smash. I said orale! Let's do it! We sat at the tables under the tent. It was nice shade for such a hot afternoon. The burgers were out hot n fresh! The Lucy was juicy with just the right amount of spice! It had a zesty kick you just can't forget. I absolutely loved it! My dad and brother enjoyed theirs as well. The fries reminded me of the fries at Bob's Burgers. They were really good! Overall it was a great experience! I'll definitely be returning! No mames! Si! I'm so glad I finally got to check this place out after all these years of living here. The store is in an industrial area, and looking from the road, you can definitely miss it if you blink. It looks a lil sort of like a hole in a wall place and I wasn't even sure it was open by looking from the outside even! But...I did park in the back and checked out the shop! I opted for Loco Moco with overeasy egg, soda and got 2 spam musubi to go. I must say the food hit the spot for me. I hadn't had Hawaiian food for close to 10 years now so it was really nostalgic savoring this thing again. The spam musubi was also great though on a pricy side..but hey..once in a while, it's good to treat yourself with yummy things! The staff there were both friendly. They ended up chatting with me most of the time since when I stopped by it wasn't busy with the crowds. I also learned they do have food truck offerings at events at Hyder Park on select days, too! Just the only things I wished they had some other things like guava cake and mochiko chicken that I really missed too though!

It was awesome and made just right! So why the 2 stars??? It started off with so much potential, then quickly went downhill. I was happy to see they offered delivery, and so I ordered and looked forward to some ono grinds (good food). When I got the delivery and opened the container, my first reaction was "WHAAAAAATTT?????". This was NOT katsu! It was mushy chicken teriyaki-ish swimming in sauce, mac salad that was masquerading as local mac salad, and overall just a container of non-local food. It didn't taste goo either. I was told at the time that it was under new management, but even so, it should not have kicked its standards to the curb. I was afraid to eat their food after that. If you are going to advertise yourself as a Hawaiian food place, make sure you got the goods. We locals know the difference.

My husband had a glass of Savignon Blanc good enough to have a second one and I had a mocktail that was excellent-a real adult drink, named Not An Old Fashion) hint of sweetness, several ingredients including orange, Campari, a cherry. It was delicious, interesting. We were after a light bite and I had the chicken liver pate, a nice cube of it with lots of bread and a scattering of pickled vegetables-nice contrast! I had the roasted butternut squash also, a generous serving, with a very crunchy skin. Once I figured out I could break the skin by folding it with my fork after making a crease in it with my knife I ate every bit of it, the creamy flesh and the crisp peel and the greens that came with it. Husband had the smoked tinned oysters that I thoroughly enjoyed on his behalf because he wasn't wild about it. He admitted he is partial to fresh oysters and so no other preparation was going to match that preference. His loss, my gain. We finished off the meal sharing the chocolate bark and we lingered over our drinks, chatted with the waiter and the chef and left feeling happy with the adventure. It's pricey so be forewarned. I found the uniqueness of the flavors, the attention paid by the chef and the drinkologist to flavor, balance, presentation and the civilized atmosphere to be worthy of the cost. The wine list is well selected and offers some nice little discoveries. The food is hit and miss. -Pigs' ears were incredible, fried mushrooms were not (heavy on the breading and mushrooms were impossible to taste). -The multitude of pickles are fun but sometimes overwhelm the palate and risk becoming a schtick. -The chicken liver pâté (actually a parfait) was good flavor-wise but wasn't emulsified properly (grainy) and was served too cold (and therefore hard) rather than at room temperature where it would be rich and creamy. -While I understand that it's easier to manage, I'd have liked to see some fresh bread as an alternative to the croutons. The salumi were likewise hit-and-miss. -The bresaola (a hard one to hit on) was overly salty, a little too dried, and should have been cut paper thin on the slicer rather than thickish slices offered. -The salami was very good -The fries had excellent flavor but it would be nice to see them achieve better crisp (thrice-fried) and little less salt (something that comes up a little often throughout). Having said all this, the chef is having fun in the kitchen, experimenting, and coming up with some ingenious items and combinations. So I'd like to see more consistency but there was enough to choose from that I will definitely go back.
