This was my first time going to veggie grill and it absolutely blew my mind- I can't say there is really anything I would change. Everything here is vegan too! From the minute I walked in the staff was friendly and helpful, taking the time to talk with me about different dishes I might enjoy based on my preferences and small talking with me while I was being rung up. I was given a number and went to sit with my group. One nice thing about this place is that its good for accommodating large groups without feeling like you are taking up the entire joint. Or worse, getting stuck with that one big table in the middle of the restaurant. You know the one I mean, the one that makes it feel like everyone is watching you. Not so here, the restaurant is laid out with lots of nooks so it feels comfy cozy. Anyways after I was given a number I waited for my food, but not for long, our whole group had our order within 5 minutes. We all loved our different dishes. My Baja bowl was incredible. Beautiful, flavorful, perfectly portioned. I would highly recommend this dish, especially of you rant one for chic'n (fake chicken). We stuck around for a long time and the employees remained friendly and courteous, even offering to bring us more sauce or answer any questions. I will certainly be back and can't wait to try more dishes. read more

Love their salads. This location isn't my favorite because it feels cafeteria like. I love the drinks they offer, different lemonades and teas. Healthy food options. I love their bowls also. Their tofu dishes are great and if you like curry, they have a great curry dish. This location is in the Costco center. read more

Awesome! Super fast and friendly service. My review may be slightly skewed, since there are limited vegan options near my humble abode, and I was just so excited to be able to eat everything on the menu. I had the crispy cauliflowe since it seemed to be recommended - it was great. Basically lightly battered cauliflower fried, with some light citrus/vingary/asian inspired dipping sauce. I really enjoyed it. Definitely enough for 2+ people as an appetizer, but I took care of it solo as part of my dinner. Also enjoyed the Bacon Lettuce tomato avocado sandwich - this was a large sandwich, and was good the bread was great. Also had the fries and the salad - nothing special, but still good. Everything was fresh and tasty. The prices were very reasonable. Their menu was great about identifying GF, Soy-free, and other diet limitations. I would come here again in a heartbeat. This is my go-to local vegetarian place. There's a good selection to choose from with food and the deserts are AMAZING! Would recommend the nachos with taco 'meat.' It's a game changer if you're on the fence with veggie nachos. The chicken appetizers (buffalo and naked) are also the bomb! The burgers there are decent, but I've had better. The deserts are some of the best I've had at a vegan place. Tacos are recommended and always good to try a bowl at least once! I LOVE all-vegan establishments, and for that 5 stars for you. Nothing makes me happier than seeing kids hanging out here, the future caretakers of our planet eating plants! The food is consistently disappointing. The price for value is just not worth it. I've eaten here hopeful a few times now, the bowls and salads I've had are lacking in size, flavor and all-around appeal. Burger and fries are the best bet, but I'd take Plant Power, Loving Hut and Evolution first. Christmas Meal with all the fixins'! Our family ordered the holiday meal and it was so unbelievably good. Veggie Grill had the process dialed in, I walked in and they packed the meal in a special area and talked me through everything they were putting in the bag. In a couple of minutes I walked out with a bag packed with my holiday meal. At home, dinner was ready in just about 2 hours. Every item was delicious. I don't even like gravy but the mushroom gravy was delicious and I actually ladled it over the mock Turkey and stuffing. This is our new holiday tradition. To begin this review, I must admit I am not a vegetarian nor do I like typically vegan food. But this place was pretty damn good. They made everyday sin food into something both delicious and healthy. I went with my girlfriend and another couple. We split everything so we could taste as much as possible. We had the nachos, chill out wings, buffalo chicken salad, buffalo burger, Santa Fe chicken burger, and the GF powerplate, which is a grilled portabello mushroom, caramelized onions, and some kind of fermented bean curd patty with a side of kale. I enjoyed everything I tasted even though I knew what it was and had been skeptical before the meal. This place has perfected the taste of fake chicken; I really could not tell the difference. Although it had the consistency of McDonald's chicken nuggets. So if you don't mind nuggets from McDonald's, then you will love all their fake chicken dishes. The staff was on top of their game. Veggie Grill either slipped them a glass of happy juice or did an awesome job of picking some of the friendliest and nicest people in San Diego. All of them were willing to talk with us and have a friendly conversation. I just hope this keeps up and doesn't dwindle away like other places. The only drawback to this place was the price. For an appetizer, two meals, and two drinks your are running around $30 after taxes. I am not sure if I will back to this place anytime soon, but I wouldn't mind just sitting with some of my vegan friends and drinking the tea and fresh lemonades that have there. Their drinks were amazing and delicious. If you are vegan or trying to eat healthy, then this is your Mecca. You can enjoy all the sin food you want without any of the sin. read more

The good Employees always friendly and consistently provide great service. Food is generally pretty tasty. The frustrating. The portion sizes in comparison to the price. I'm ok paying $12 for a bowl, but not when the portion size doesn't fill me up. Every time I've eaten here I've been very disappointed. Rice, veggies and tofu are not expensive so add some more on and provide adequate portions or drop the prices. Brought my employees in for lunch the other day. All in all it was a delicious lunch. A little on the pricey side but I guess that's what you pay for quality. I had the bayou chicken sandwich with blackened chicken made as a wrap and chili on the side. It was good but it could use a little additional flavor. The chili I doctored up with some salt and it was great. The wrap was good and the avocado was a nice touch. I added a little hot sauce to kick up the flavor a bit. Service was attentive and friendly. The girl taking our order was patient as I had each person order. The servers who brought our meal were very attentive me checked on us several times. One of my employees inquired about the carrot cake that he ordered. The girl said she'd bring it out at the end of our meal. She then surprised us with two slices for our table to try. I thought that was a very nice touch. The carrot cake was delicious. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood. I look forward to coming back and trying more menu items. read more

Ate here with the fam for dinner. The service here is great and served our orders fairly quick as well. I ordered the BTLA and my brother ordered the Grill'n Chik'n Sandwich and both orders were pretty decent. It wasn't as great as the last sandwich I ordered (I think it was the crispy chick'n sandwich) from my last visit of veggie grill in La Jolla. However I tried my parent's order of the crispy cauliflower and that was sooooo good. Definitely recommend that! But as a total meat lover, I'm not gonna lie this place is still pretty good to me. I have been ordering veggie grill for my boss a few times a week through Grub Hub during the quarantine. Each time I place the order, I call the Carlsbad restaurant to give them the modifications over the phone, that I am not able to make on the GrubHub website (extra avocado, no cilantro/salsa, add side of broccoli). I called in today and spoke with KYLE, who is hands down the most rude person I have ever encountered at a restaurant. He told me in a very condescending and rude way that he knows I have been calling in to make modifications (which I never understood to be a bad things), and I do not need to keep calling the restaurant and can make the changes that I'm requesting on the website. I let him know that I cannot make the changes I want on the website, the only area to write anything down is in an area for the driver. He said that he's not sure what I am looking at, but that everyone can in fact make the changes on the website because he has seen other do it, and to write my modifications down in the drives notes, even though it says that it is for the driver, not the restaurant. I said that was more than happy to do that and while I've never had an order mix up with Veggie grill, I wanted to call in also, to make sure everything was correct on the order. While he was taking my modifications, I pulled up the GubHub menu to make sure that I was not missing an area to make the changes that he was insisting I could make. When I told him that indeed there was no area to note the modifications, he told me that I still must be missing the area, and hung up on me. I called back to tell him that this was not a great experience with Veggie Grill...and he hung up on me again! I called back to get the corporate number...and he hung up on me yet again. I will not be ordering from Veggie Grill again. UPDATE: When the order was delivered, it was incorrect. The chrispy chicken that we paid extra for online, was left off of the bowl... read more

I ordered a few things delivered by Door Dash, ...a buffalo "chicken" burger and a taco salad. I tell myself that I ordered way too much food because the delivery services are expensive and didn't want to pay for a dinner delivery as well, but it's mainly because I was drunk and had the wine munchies really bad. The burger was amazing! If I were to go again I would definitely order it. My fries were cold but this is probably the fault of the delivery guy...he took over an hour to deliver. I wouldn't blame the restaurant. I ate the whole thing with my bare hands standing at the kitchen counter like a degenerate. Not my finest hour. The taco salad was big, fresh, and a bit bland. Didn't stop me from eating it, though. I'm fat and I've made my peace with it. So yes, go to the restaurant. Screw Door Dash. Get the buffalo burger. I was just at their Yelp preview event and got the Crispy Chickin Plate. LOVE their chickin! It doesn't taste like soy or cardboard or whatever you carnivores think... it does taste similar to chicken and you'll love it. I used to be obsessed with Veggie Grill's sweet potato fries when I was up in at school in Irvine, so I'm stoked that there's this location here now! And FYI, these guys totally did it first... the sweet potato fries thing, I mean. I watched another customer look around and say, "There's no soda..." Well of course there's no soda, but they have 4 varieties of iced tea and 2 types of lemonade. So skip the soda and down one of their delish teas. Which reminds me, their Portobello mushroom burger is bomb. I'll be back for that! Service was uber friendly and timely considering how packed the plastic was. We were so impressed by this restaurant that before we finished eating, we were looking the restaurant up online to see if they offered franchise options as were were ready to buy one on the spot! Please please please open a Veggie Grill in Tucson! (or contact us to buy a franchise) My husband kept asking if everything was vegetarian because of the items on the menu such as "buffalo wings" and "burgers"! LOL! Then to be told everything was vegan was awesome! We ordered the "buffalo wings" and after not eating real ones for almost a year, these tasted like heaven to us! We also ordered "chicken" nachos and it was hard to believe that the nacho cheese was not real - the texture and the taste was just like "real" nacho cheese. We also had a "hamburger" with cheese and carmelized onions that was sooooo good! We also had a quinoa veggie salad that I cannot remember the name but was very tasty too. Holy, well I can't say cow can I?! Holy veggies?! This place is spectacular and I wish there were more of them! I didn't fully understand that everything was "fake meat" until I started eating and asked a friend, "now wait, this isn't really chicken?". It truly is that good! I had the B-wing Salad with no ranch. It was incredible! The portion size was so big I couldn't finish it, although I really pushed myself to try. We split the Carrot Cake for dessert and it was by far the best carrot cake I've ever had! The fresh drinks looked great too, but I didn't try them this visit. The ambiance was clean and crisp and very inviting and the service was spectacular. Overall, I'd give this place a 4 star and here's the breakdown: Food: 4/5 We ordered 4 items off the menu: Asparagus soup: 4/5 - simply because I could have a vegan asparagus soup. Pretty creative to substitute dairy with almond milk. Would have liked consistency to be a bit thicker, but it was still good to just have asparagus soup again. Maybe a bit more salt and pepper would have helped, but still a solid 4/5 Quinoa Power Salad: 4.5/5 - Large portion, great flavor, and avocados too, though I would have loved if they had added just a few more avocado pieces. Other items including the almonds, fennel and mint were in just the right quantities so that no one element overwhelmed the taste. Bombay Bowl 3.5/5 - While serving size was large, the addition of whole almonds was something that actually worked against it. Otherwise, curry flavor was OK Kid's meal Chicn' strips: 4/5 - was pretty good for as they had appropriate flavor and size for a 6 year old Service and Ambience was a solid 4/5 - wish service had been quicker since they didn't appear super busy on a Thursday night. read more

Update: So i emailed them regarding my missing items and they've refunded me for the missing items and have apologized. They will contact management at the site we purchased and will work on improving. That is great. We are not perfect and always have room to improve. Owning up to the error is the biggest step. Will update from 1to 3 now. Portion was still too small for price. We stayed at Legoland and was getting tired of the usual theme park food. So we wanted to try this place as their food looked delish in the pictures and it also got pretty good reviews. Food tasted ok. Had decent flavor. Here is why I just cant give you more than one star. And ai normally dont give just one star. I will start it off with the picture I added to this review. You tell me what you think. Other reasons: we did take-out. And we got home, i was missing my turmeric cauliflower and my daughter was missing her fries with her kids meal. I usually check my order when I pick up food, but when I got there, the cashier brought up my bag and he dug into it and repeated my order as he dug through the bag. Then tells me it's all there and I am good to go. He forgot the drinks to my kid's kids meal, so i had to remind him. Not going back to this place. Will stick to the Legoland hotel food tomorrow.
