Veggie grill has exposed me to whole another world of food. I don't know why I didn't try this place sooner. I probably would have stayed vegetarian because this is seriously something worth experiencing. I've had it bookmarked for awhile now, but was a little hesitant due to the fact that it's worth a pretty penny for an entree. Now that I finally tried it, I might just spurge my lunch money here since it's conveniently close to work and I have I decided to go vegetarian again! *Before you arrive if you have not already, download the app for a $5 credit on your first purchase. My co-worker and I arrived just before the lunch rush (11:30 ish). That around the time parking gets full and people start rushing in. The nice gentleman at the register was very patient and helpful meanwhile we were deciding what we wanted to eat. He as able to answered every question we had. I thanked him for his patience and we continued on. My total without the coupon would of been around $15 with a drink. I ended up paying $10 for my B-wing salad, half order of fries, and a drink. We walked around the restaurant to find a seat and everything was well kept and the decor was up to date. We felt very comfortable. (Note: My co-worker is a total carnivore and I dragged her along with me to try some rabbit food lol) They do not serve any soda here which I personally think is great. I can tell they are really trying to keep things healthy. We both had the strawberry lemonade and it was quite refreshing and delicious. I would have it over and over again. Once we sat, our food took no longer than 10 minutes to arrive. I was impressed by the fast service and the presentation of both my co workers and mines dishes. My salad was delightful. It was extremely filling I had to take some to go. My co worker also enjoyed her Buffalo Bomber sandwich and stated she would have it again. So fortunate to have an awesome vegan option like Veggie Grill in North County. Been coming here since they first opened and the food and service has been consistently spot on. It's a go to place on a regular basis. I love that they have seasonal menus that change a few times a year, so there's always something new coming up, and if you loved something from the prior year's seasonal menu, it'll likely return the next time around. They claim to be GMO free, but when they have corn on the cob, you have to ask each time whether it is or not. There's a wide selection of gluten free options and you can ask for their nutrition book that shows ingredients in all their dishes so you can figure out how to de-glutenize some items that aren't naturally gluten free. read more

Veggie Grill - Very Average Stopped in since I was in Carlsbad and had friends suggest that Veggie Grill has a good vegan menu. I was able to step right up and order - no waiting. Got my number and cup for water and sat down to wait. Since the store wasn't busy, I expected pretty quick service - but ended up waiting a little more than 20 minutes for my sandwich and soup. I had the Buffalo Bomber sandwich, "Crispy Chickin' tossed with spicy Buffalo sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce, creamy ranch dressing, wheat roll." Pretty disappointed really. Three things are important - texture of the "Chickin", crispiness of the breading, and temp of the food. They struck out on all three. With vegan "meat" (seitan) the key is getting a very meaty texture. This just wasn't quite as firm as one would expect. The crust was soft - not crispy. And the sandwich was not much more than luke warm. I had the black bean soup as my side. It was fine, but needed some heat to suit my taste. Plentiful Cholula made that happen. Anyhow, not receiving a good recommendation from me based on wait, food quality, and price ($11 worth of disappointment). read more

I am terribly disappointed in Veggie Grill. I've been coming here for a while and the last couple of times I ordered their very popular crispy chikn sandwich, also one of my favorites, they have been incredibly skimpy on the toppings. You get a nice sized sandwich with lots of bun and no flavor. The tiny tab of guacamole in the middle of the huge sandwich is a joke. The sauce they put on it is also nonexistent. So excited to have a plant-based restaurant like this. The menu is extensive and everything we have tried on our last three visits has been incredible. From soups, sandwiches, breakfast burrito, and all manner of burgers and chicken sandwiches, will blow you away. Nachos and a variety of appetizers and sides are well worth trying. Very yummy food! Great customer service and beautiful seating outside! I also like that there is a Lounge Burger right next to it so if you go with someone who prefers meat they can order from them and you can order from Veggie Grill. I had the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin' sandwich with a side of soup (no extra charge, you get to pick between fries, broccoli and soup). We also shared the Temp Green Bean Stack and Crispy Cauliflower, both were delicious! Never ever disappointed by this place. Great options for food, drinks and dessert! Vegan made so easy! Kids menu is great too for the little ones to experience vegan food! I love when they get seasonal items that are fun to try! Veggie Grill = happiness in my book! I love this place and I have not had a bad experience ever in the 5 years I have been eating there!!! They are super understanding when things get mixed up, the manager usually triple checks to make sure the orders go out correct and has even offered to remake something just because it was put together a little too quickly, and when we said no worries at all he came and gave us a free desert for the mix up. So I'm sorry to that one girl who had a problem ordering on grub hub but it sounds like your mad at a person not the restaurant it's self. I had seen the Veggie Grill tons of times going to the Carlsbad Costco but finally tried it a few weekends ago. I think the current four stars review is right on track. My wife and I eat mostly vegetarian but are not 100%. We try to be pretty environment conscious and aware of what we are eating so Veggie Grill is a place I would like to spend my money. We had the king mushroom scallops and the Lux Burger with sweet potato fries and bacon Mac n cheese. Our favorite was the Lux Burger but I wouldn't recommend the Mac n cheese. I am definitely glad I tried Veggie Grill, but I probably won't be a super regular customer as I am not sure if the soy meatlike products are necessarily much healthier for you. It's a nice step though as far as a more sustainable option for people who are more environmentally conscious! read more

Perfect stop for vegan food with kids after a day at Legoland. In fact, the kids now look forward to eating here almost as much as going to the park! My son is especially impressed with the kid's burger, but he says it doesn't always taste the same. He says sometimes it is the best burger ever and other times it is just like any other vegan burger. My daughter loves everything she has tried and I have been happiest with tacos. Found this place on yelp while visiting. So glad because the Fajita Burrito is Delicious. Impressed how close the faux meat tasted to the real thing. We also had the Fish 's and added the Cilantro lime Rice and the black beans to go with the 3 tacos, but the Rice was just puffed bland Brown Rice and the Black Beans were also bland. I added lemon and some of the salsa that came with the Fajita Burrito, to the beans and then it was . Yum Salsa. The 3 faux fish tacos had two pieces each and the soft tortillas tasted homemade and nicely toasted and again impressed. I think a little more pico de gallo and cream would have A's it. The Buffalo Wings were a little lacking in taste other than the buffalo hot sauce and the ranch was bland also and definitely not enough celery sticks. We also ordered a Matcha Tea Horchata, it was pretty good other than the grainy taste at the end. We had to comeback and had in mind to order two Fajita Burritos, but unfortunately had a bad experience with the manager Kyle and his customer service. I'm the manager" and my husband asked Kyle why he continued to ignore him when he was asking him to wipe the table and what kind of f...n attitude is that? Then Kyle said "No you can't eat here, you need to leave." My husband turned to me and said don't order anything we are leaving. It would have been interesting to see how Kyle as manager would have corrected his poor customer service if my husband never said the f.... word, instead it seems that Kyle took the opportunity to tell my husband that he couldn't eat there. So wrong and unprofessional. The first time we were there a young woman that obviously was the manger was totally attentive and helping employees with questions and answering my questions about an item on the menu very politely.
