The entire menu is vegan :) I got the tofu taco and Moroccan lentil soup. The former was light and the latter was full of flavor...almost reminded me of chili. I got the soup size as small which was pretty filling. The taco could have had more zang or flavor but I enjoyed it regardless. I love the variety of food available here. The food is always consistent in terms of flavor. I do find that every once in awhile it seems like they've been a little light on the amount of food they put on the plate but that issue has been few and far between. Veggie Grill is something I wish I had in my city. Consistent and quality vegan comfort food with tons of options. I get the Truffle Mac n Cheese, and love the Buffalo Blitz Wrap and tenders. They have great vegan desserts as well. I didn't catch the Manager's name, but it's the Latin guy. He is very rude and should honestly not be working there. Food is amazing. Vegan meals are the future. VG had so much going for it with rewards and birthday entrees and bonuses- until they didn't. Our latest experience was with a good guy, manager probably, but just treated us like we were so out of touch asking about a service you used as of late 2023. Didn't know we are supposed to automatically know what Silicon Valley app startups are teaming up with which every year. InKind doesn't do VG anymore. Fine. But VG emails were very persistent asking me to spend $100 and get $30 rewards back leaving me with a good amount to spend at VG and not able to visit regularly. Little would anyone know that your e-relationship has spoiled and I needed to spend that "never expires" money before it essentially expired. Or just became a "yeah we don't take that anymore." Sorry I've been vegan since before your staff was born and was at VG opening day a million years ago. I put in a mobile curbside pick up order, and I was very happy with the experience! The parking in Santana Row can be difficult, so I just wanted to grab my food to go. Their app is well-designed, and they send you an email confirmation immediately upon submission of your order. The email confirmation also includes a link that you can click when you have arrived for your curbside pickup to be dropped off. The only issue I had when I got there was not knowing where the curbside pickup spots were located. I actually stopped on Piazza de Valencia Street and put on my hazards to wait for about 4-5 minutes. When no one emerged from the Veggie Grill entrance, I got worried and called them, but no one picked up. So I ended up turning right at the stop sign onto Olin Avenue, where I discovered a whole series of curbside delivery parking spots on the right side! Luckily, I was able to slide into the last available spot just next to the entrance of Maggiano's, and my food was dropped off by a very nice Veggie Grill staff member a minute later, who apologized for not answering my call. -1 star because even though my sandwich was wrapped nicely in paper to make it easier to eat (the sauce was messy!), the brioche bun was a bit soggy as if the sandwich had been sitting around for a while, even though I arrived in my pickup window. The light fixtures are nice and the restaurant has windows that allows natural light to flow into. After you dine, the staff pick up your dirty plates and clean up the table. The ambience is intimate as the sound level was fairly quiet calm despite groups, couples, or families already dining inside. SERVICE: It's straightforward chill since you order in a queue and they serve the food to you once it's ready. ORDERS: I ordered the BLT avocado croissant. It had interesting flavors since it was a vegan restaurant. The croissant was flaky and had nice crunch to it. The chicken itself had a spongy texture that was similar in taste to chicken. The Veggie Grill quality has been inconsistent, but I had a good visit at the Santana Row location. Firstly, the woman at the counter was extremely nice and was kind enough to look through the ingredient list to ensure lack of allergens. I ended up with my go-to Catalina Taco salad. The dish looked slightly different than when I have had it before (thicker corn strips? different greens?) but was very fresh and delicious. I also shared an order of nachos with my friend, and those were unfairly good (my nutritionist would not approve). My only quibble was that the corn strips on the salad were slightly stale. I got some chocolate chip cookies to go, and the husband devoured two immediately. I definitely appreciate having a fully vegan fast food spot right in Santana Row. read more

I always wants veggie grill to be better but feel disappointed after eating it. This is probably the best meal I've had there and I did really enjoy the burger and bowl, but some of the other things I got (not pictured) were disappointing and hazardous, hence the low rating. Far East bowl: the sauce was really flavorful and paired well with the veggies! I also liked the crusted tofu! It was crispy and the sesame flavor complemented the other flavors of the bowl. In my picture I already ate some of the bowl but the overall portion size was low for the price. Also there was too much rice for the amount of other toppings and the rice was dry. House burger: I actually really liked this burger and would go back for this! The house burger was really good and all the toppings went well with the burger. Carrot cake: pretty decent vegan cake. Kind of dry but the frosting made up for it. Mac n cheese (not pictured): have never tried any other vegan Mac and cheese and this was pretty good! Not 100% cheese tasting but a good vegan dupe nonetheless. Now for why I rated so low. I ordered a burrito for someone with medical dietary restrictions. There were specific instructions and it had it on the receipt as well. The burrito itself was weirdly constructed in layers so there was a point where all you were eating was rice and tortilla. They ended up putting in ingredients that we specified we didn't want in the burrito....they also really skimped on everything that wasn't rice. I did not have high expectations for this place but went to this place w/ my friend for dinner and MAN I would 100% come back again. I actually never had vegan food and since this was my first time, I think this is a cool concept. I got the nachos, sweet potato fries, and fish tacos. The fish tacos were something that I was the most curious about and I quite liked it a lot and would get it again. Sweet potato fries were super good, especially w/ their special sauce. When you land late at night into SJC and are looking for a plant-based option that's open, Veggie Grill is here to save the night. At first I was hesitant about checking out a 'chain' vegan-friendly restaurant. I had made the presumption that the food would be lackluster and that it wouldn't leave me feeling good, like a lot of western chains. I'll be the first to say that I was so wrong and that Veggie Grill really is a great spot that caters to all dietary preferences, and is open late which is a huge plus in the vegan food scene. I called ahead to order their Far East Bowl ($12) which comes with sesame crusted chick'n over wild rice, broccoli, veggies, and a coconut curry sauce. Wow, I was not expecting the amount of flavor in this one bowl. I loved the roasted vegetables with the incredibly curry sauce, and the soy chick'n they used really reminded me of those chicken katsu days, only way less oily. I loved my bowl, only wishing that there was more food to fill the bowl itself. Definitely looking forward to returning to try more of their food. Their menu online is a great way to introduce someone to the idea of plant-based living and I am all good for the next trip. read more

Ordered the steak house burger, and kimchi burger plus I added avocado and Mac and cheese on the side ... *Mac and cheese 2/10 pretty plain not cheesy at all and it seems like there was no seasoning.... I wouldn't order the Mac again. *Kimchi's burger 10/10 the sauce was cool, the burger was a sloppy burger with running eggs and the additional avocados but overall very delicious. *Steakhouse burger 6/10, the sauce was cool but it wasn't like the kimchi burger, maybe I should have added avocados too.. idk? I had to update the review because after years of visiting various Veggie Grill locations, I finally got a serving of fries that was a reasonable portion!!! It absolutely made my day, and my husband couldn't stop laughing about how excited I was when my sandwich came out, LOL! Usually I can count the number of individual fries in my "large" side of fries on my fingers, but it could finally be considered a large side, and I was just so beside myself--I adore fries, and they do genuinely have tasty fries at Veggie Grill, but it always baffled me why they were so stingy with them. I don't know what happened on this day in particular, but I hope this is a trend that spreads to the other locations as well! (I am kicking myself now that I didn't take a picture!) I do miss my beloved Truffle Burger, and I wish it would come back as a permanent menu item, but I've enjoyed the Cajun Fish burger, the Reuben, and the Crispy Buffalo Chickin' burger of late as well, and those were all pretty good. My omnivore husband had the Turkey Melt and found it tasty and very filling, too. This location is probably the closest Veggie Grill to me, and it is pretty convenient if I have any shopping to do either on Santana Row or at the Valley Fair Mall, so I'm sure to be back again :) read more

I order from this restauraunt often (ususally on Mondays) through DoorDash and it has always been good, but the last 3 weeks have been very different. I always order the Santa Fe Chicken and now the "chicken" patty is so overcooked that it is not edible, but very dry and hard. It used to be consistently moist and a little juicy. The first time I thought might be a fluke but the next two times were the same. Plus, this last week, the fries were even overcooked. I am never ordering from them again as I really can't afford to waste money like this! I was really hoping I would never have to bash a vegan restaurant, but here we are. Sad. read more

Mixed experience... ordered 2 burgers and a bowl with a side of onion rings, fries and pickled cucumbers. Sides came first... never got the cucumber salad. Then the burgers came next... no bowl. We watched the kitchen and noticed that everything coming out of the kitchen was going into bags for pickup by food delivery folks. We had to ask about the missing bowl, which finally arrived after all the other food was eaten. I've eaten at veggie grill a few times before (at different locations), and I've often had an above average experience. This review if for my visit at this location. Veggie grill offers many varieties of plant based food, the biggest selection I've seen before. They have faux meat as well as ordinary vegetarian options. During this visit I got to try southeastern nachos, chips n guac, spicy crab cake sandwich, and the loaded burrito. The topping for the southeastern nachos was actually pretty good, but the chips themselves were pretty disappointing. They tasted stale and did not have the texture you would expect. I would not get this again. My friends who ordered the taco platter weren't huge fans of the tortilla either. I guess I would steer away from tortilla based products the next time I come here. The loaded burrito was underwhelming, it's just better to order a veggie burrito at a taqueria or even go to chipotle and get a burrito with the faux meat they offer there. The spicy crab cake sandwich was not spicy, but I think overall, it was the better dish of the bunch I've tried at veggie grill. They offer two kinds of lemonade and iced tea, which are pretty decent. I would stick to ordering some of their more popular items. read more

Came in here after coming to other restaurants in area and finding out the long wait times. I came into the restaurant looking to try my usual chicken sandwich, but something caught my eyes. The Cajun fish sandwich sounded really tasty, so I had to try that. I just ordered my food and chose my own table to sit at. I was pretty empty and quiet, so it was great for me. Cajun Fish Sandwich 3/5: I definitely really enjoyed this plant-based fish sandwich. It tasted exactly like a mcfish at McDonald's. However, it tasted like normal fast-food sandwich and wasn't anything too special. I wish it had more than just lettuce and sauce. Sweet Potato Fries with Aioli 5/5: definitely one of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had and loved the aioli sauce This is a really good place to try vegan food or start your plant-based diet. Love the area, love the food! My daughter and I stumbled on this restaurant while trying to find an open restaurant on a late Monday night. Parking was located in a structure across the street. The plant-based restaurant is located in an outdoor food court type area with a few other restaurants. The courtyard was busy but had ample seating and even socially distanced markings on the grass for picnicking. The courtyard vibe was social and fun. At the time our our arrival (30 minutes until closing) the restaurant looked like it's outdoor tables and chairs had been put away. Since the courtyard seating was available, Veggie Grill was still a good option. The menu was filled with a great selection of vegetarian options. We ordered the veggie burger, lentil soup, plant-based chicken bowl and loaded yams. Our food was nicely packaged and ready to go in about 10 minutes. The food was amazing! My burger was incredible. I loved the grainy texture. The chicken in my daughter's salad was moist, soft and tender with a well seasoned crusting. Customer service was good. To the only Veggie Grill in San Jose, It's disappointing that this location can't keep to their word, for all my reward users please stop, delete the app, because you're wasting your time. I had saved up my rewards points just in case I knew I could use them on a better day. Well tell me why I went today use them just to be told it's 1 reward per transaction or 1 reward a day. While it might seem not so serious here are the issues with that. 1. I payed the products to get the rewards, so it wouldn't make sense to limit me to one because you can't handle what you put out. There is no where on the app and in the store that said I was only limited to 1 reward per visit. Please be clear 2. They are MY rewards, that I earned. If I choose to save them up then I will, if I choose to use them then I will because I'm already gaining less, so let me save up the less that I have. 3. Not to be that person because everyone is always told something different but I've been able to use my reward points freely in the past. I'm not even gonna lie this is probably the last time I visit veggie grill or use their point system, so for future customers please consider this. read more
