I re-visited this establishment in Feb 2023, 10 months after my original review. I ordered 15 of the garlic parmesan bone-in wings (all flats) in the traditional style, not fried. It was much better the second go-around, but still not wonderful or perfect. The food was simply "alright". The wings this time came in a small un-flattering styrofoam container. The wings were dressed nicely and had my requested sauce pre-applied, this time around. There will always be a small amount of grease in any food container that holds fried goodness, and this one was no exception. A small puddle of grease was present and washing out the flavors. The wings were nicely cooked and not over-done. The flavors left something to be desired, but we're still there in adequate force to still be called a good taste. This place is pretty good. It is a great alternative if your favorite spot is closed up. I would give it a decent 4/5. Could be better, but pretty decent at the same time. read more

Unfortunately, it's a no for me dog. I think Velocity is a perfectly fine watering hole if you want a beer or a drink at the end of the day. However as far as food or anything else, I would skip it. I have tried to order from here a few times and I always end up disappointed. Tonight I ordered a salad and some wings. Had to toss the salad because the lettuce went bad and the wings were overcooked and not sauced really at all. Go ahead and skip this one. read more

Upon further review... OK, so I went back for a dine-in experience and found it to be a more positive experience. I went for lunch on a Friday and sat at the bar and had the velocity burger with Swiss and sweet potato fries. A good burger cooked to order it was quite tasty. This time is was half off, yeah! The wings are dry and the staff is rude. It has been awhile since I've been there and will probably never go again considering the racist vibes I got from the manager there, Stacy. A friend of mine went there and also got the the same vibe. I could be wrong about the racism because looking at the google reviews it seems they're rude to everyone depending on the day. Five stars for what it is, a sports bar. My wife and I have visited Velocity Wings three times in the last few months. Normally my go-to spot for wings is Glory Days and I still like them but there are many more sauce options for wings at Velocity Wings. They have a new addition of a Greek sauce. I enjoyed it a lot. It is Greek dry rub with just enough vinegar to make it stick to the wing. It is delicious. Their buffalo sauce is standard hot sauce and butter, which is the way it should be. The draft beer selection is plentiful. They have just about anything for any taste. My wife has gotten the Velocity burger and really likes it. I usually get the Cobb Salad and it is put together so neatly with all the ingredients separated. Their dressings are homemade so don't expect bottled flavors. We have had good service each time we have gone. They can get a little busy like they were for the Cowboys vs. Commanders game when we went. We will definitely continue to keep Velocity Wings in our restaurant rotation. read more

She was more interested in eating her meal at the end of bar, talking to the other employees, and was extremely unpleasant. We have been customers of Velocity Wings in Manassas for months even through COVID. They have raised their prices and we stood by them. Tonight, we went for half priced wing night which used to be bone-in or boneless. It was even on their chalkboard showing half priced for bone-in or boneless. The bartender told us tonight that they were having someone come in soon to update their chalkboard because boneless were not included anymore. Are you serious? If it is still on the chalkboard then it should be honored. $58 for our beers, no food. We'll be making boneless wings at home from now on. read more

After seeing great reviews on their wings, I decided to place an order. First of all the price is just silly, at about $1.50 a wing!!! I ordered 10 Velocity Wings with medium sauce & 10 Tossed Wings with mango habanero. The wings, while big, were dry & tasteless. I didn't think it was possible to do utterly ruin chicken wings. It wasn't just poor choices of sauce, the wings were completely unseasoned. Honestly, you are better off with wings from your chain pizza store (which are mediocre at best). We love going here on Wednesday night 1/2 price wings. We have a big group that usually goes and it's nice to have a great place with great food. We usually sit at the bar with Stacy our favorite bartender. Last Wednesday we sat at one of the high top tables and the waiter couldn't keep up with his tables so we had poor service. This has happened many times. If it was not for Stacy coming out from around the bar to serve us we would have been left thirsty. Thank you Stacy. Mediocre at best. I came because I placed a takeout order for wings that brought me back. Let's talk about the Friday night live entertainment. Full disclosure, we are a musically inclined family. The two guys they have singing live would be so much better if they just didn't sing at all. The lead changed up keys an average of three times during every song and the poor guy trying like hell to harmonize with him could never seem to find the right key to meet the lead. It was horrible. Even my 12-year-old commented on how bad it was. The food was good enough for me to come back and just order something different. Major disappointment! Ordered takeout from there. Got 20 boneless wings and tater tots for a side. When asked about the size portion for the tots, I was told of a loaded option. Cost an extra unknown amount that surely wasn't worth it, and all you get is literally a few pieces of sad looking fake bacon, some onion, and a cup of stale cheese (see pic). The boneless wings were super dry and lacked sauce. More attention to putting sauce on the bottom of the to go box than the actual chicken pieces themselves. Absolutely not worth the price for the food you get and quality. You're better off getting the same quality (if not better) from the frozen food aisle of your local grocery store and more than half the price! Never again will I bother to come back here. read more

Love their wings but service is another story, every time we go the waiter or waitress seems to disappear for the majority of the meal so you have to really plan drinks and any additional condiments well ahead of time. Tonight called up to get a Togo order because we work nights, I had asked earlier (9pm) what time the grill/kitchen closes and they said last order has to be in by 11. We tried to order at 10:45 as planned and they told us kitchen is closed, we explained that we had called earlier and specifically asked so then they came back with well every once in a while we close early to perform additional cleaning tasks. Mediocre Wings These weren't the worst wings we'd ever had, but they were far from the best. We tried three flavors, Georgia Peanut, Mild and Spicy Thai. They were okay flavors, but the first bite, the very first, I could tell that they were overcooked. Wings are tricky. If you under cook them, then someone could get sick, but if you overcook them, then they're flavorless and lose their texture. But a place with "wings" in its name had better implement quality controls to make sure the wings are perfect. It's possible. One high point was the chicken wrap appetizer. It wasn't a chicken wrap. It was minced (?) chicken with diced something on a lettuce leaf with some dipping sauce that seemed like spiced up duck sauce. This was very good. I could eat 100 of these. We won't be going back to this place, but we will definitely be trying out this dish at home. Another thing was the service. Our server was a young American girl. We had trouble getting refills on the drinks. And when we got there, there is a television at every booth, and our television was tuned to a baseball game. I know. So we asked her if we could change the channel to watch a test pattern or something, anything but baseball. She said she would bring us the remote, but she never did. Sad. read more

We've been here on several occasions now and have enjoyed the quality service, good food and atmosphere. Their wings are really good and with so many sauce choices you are guaranteed to find one you like. While we like the wings/burgers etc style places, as "not in our twenties anymore" couple we don't enjoy loud noisy "sports" bar & grills. Velocity has a nice balance, plenty of TV's with lots of different games and an area a little isolated from that to let you be able to hear yourself think and carry on a conversation during dinner. Not a fan at all of this place. My husband and I ordered hot buffalo wings and the sunset burger to share. The wings came out and they were a little on the cold side. The wings were also not hot (spicy) at all. Last thing about the wings, some were huge and had way to much skin on them. Now I had high hopes for the sunset burger because it had all the works (egg, bacon, tomato, lettuce,onion etc) but it was absolutely tasteless. I don't know what's going on in the back but it seems like they don't know what a little bit of seasoning looks like. Not even ketchup could save this burger. I'm only giving it two stars because our waitress Bailey was super nice and attentive. If it was jus based on the service from her, I would give this place 5 stars.
