The service and food were amazing. We stumbled on this place and were not disappointed. Authentic Italian food. Feels like you're eating at a your favorite Italian uncles' house. Highly recommend.

A group of us had dinner before the play our friend wrote. It's a comfy place with foods that are unexpectedly so delicious! The best thing was friendly service by Antonio! We will come back for sure and I even told him I would bring my friends from Japan when they come to visit me!

    Garlic bread!! YUM

I Stumbled on this little restaurant while visiting Venice beach. The food was AMAZING the pizza was the best pizza I've ever had and the pasta was GREAT. The owner and staff were so friendly and kind helping with anything we needed. The seating is lovey, I would come here again and again.

Kind man behind the counter and food was simple + fresh. Big fan of the garlic bread spread and my friend had a chai that was delicious. Also open on New Years Day. Will come back

This place is a cool hidden gem but not too hidden. The man at the counter is incredibly kind, reassuring that everything is freshly cooked. Such a great experience of good Italian food.

Linguini puttanesca and penne arrabiatta with chicken

We were on our way to our favorite sushi place when we were drawn to the happy sounds of laughter coming from the patio. The smell of garlic and tomato sauce drew us inside and we are so glad we stayed. This unassuming pizza and pasta place is a one-man-show complete with personalized, heartfelt service and delicious filling food. What a fun serendipitous evening! We had the pasta puttanesca - mildly spicy garlic and tomato sauce over linguini noodles with olives, capers, peppers and mushrooms. I opted to skip the anchovies. It was delicious! We took half home for the next day. We also ordered the penne arrabiatta (sp?) with chicken - spicy and slightly creamy tomato sauce that was cooked perfectly. We also took half of that home! Topped off with a bottle of Chianti (it was warm but otherwise delicious and reasonably priced) and we got a bottle of San pelligrino sparkling water. All for under $100 for 2. We felt like we were dining at an Italian trattoria. It seemed like the customers who joined us on the patio were all from out of town. We just moved to the neighborhood and we can see making this our go to date night spot.(also posted this review to google)

It's a family-owned business with great service, delicious taste, and homemade sauces.

I went with the Butcher's mushroom, quinoa & beet burger. And it didn't disappoint. They do serve an Impossible Burger, but I would recommend the beet burger. Easily one of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. And they don't skimp on the size. Got the special sauce on the side just in case I didn't like it. It was so good that I was dipping my potatoes in it. I will definitely go back and try the breakfast.

And then there was poop toilet paper in the bathroom trash can. It was noticeable because it was filed to the top and was facing upwards. Both single stalls were occupied for 8 minutes. Making it seem like it impossible to wash my hands. My cloth napkin at the table had a brown stain on it. After seeing poop I couldn't stop thinking about poop. The food is over priced the dishes are no big deal. I would not return again. I liked the outdoor patio.

The vibes are extremely casual on the inside and I felt overdressed! It is a smaller and more intimate setting with small tables and lots of conversation and laughter. The staff are also very friendly, welcoming, and casual. They talk a lot with each other and their guests. It's like you're eating at a friend's house with how close everyone is with one another. Finally the food. The Caesar salad was extra fishy- it even came with whole anchovies on top! It was not my favorite since I prefer a more subtle anchovies taste in the dressing. The prosciutto and burrata were tasty and refreshing. Their rosemary(?) bread was fluffy and flavorful. The green fettuccine was rich in flavor and very filling. The star of the night for me was their Vodka pasta dish with prosciutto. They said it was a special, so I'm not sure how often they have it. All I can say is I was blown away by how rich the sauce was. The pasta is their biggest selling point- nice, Al dente, and fresh! For the desserts we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. The tiramisu was nice and light. I personally wish there was more mascarpone, but I am a mascarpone fiend so I'm sure most people would consider it enough! The staff were kind enough to give us a complimentary panna cotta for our anniversary dinner. It was refreshing and subtle. I have never had panna cotta before, so I don't have a reference to which I can compare it. Overall 5/5. I won't sugar coat it. Yes the prices can feel high, but the context is you're right next to the beach, so it's understandable. (I always note the price tag for restaurants because I myself have to plan/save for nicer dinners. I included the bill for reference.) Keep that in mind when you are choosing to dine here. I will say though, I avoid beach side restaurants because they are usually over priced and mid tier. I can confidently say that Casa 12 brings the flavor and a pleasant, homelike break from the sandy beach. I think they are my #1 for pasta flavors. I am eager to see what restaurant can top them!

For dinner we had: Portobello Funghi (3/5) -- Nicely sautéed large portobello mushrooms (sliced) served over a gorgonzola fondue and topped with soggy sautèed arugula and small piece of shaved parmesan. ($20) Veal Ossobuco Ravioli (3/5) -- House-made ravioli stuffed with ossobuco, served over a bed of gorgonzola fondue, topped with basil. ($36) I was disappointed that they substituted it for the Vitello Ai Funghi that I ordered. And the gorgonzola fondues had solidified by the time I got them home (6 minutes away). Street parking is practically non existent. Service was OK.
