This was a nice stay for the night. I had planned a mothers and daughters trip to Ojai. Hotels were fully booked, therefore I decided to book somewhere not too far for an affordable price. The room was ready before check in time. The kids were looking forward to going swimming after our afternoon in Ojai. We were warmly greeted by the staff upon check in with quick excellent service. The room was extra cleaned with a small fridge and microwave. We were bummed later to find out the swimming pool was under renovation, but the front desk called their sister property next door so we can use their swimming pool. It was an absolutely much bigger pool so we got extremely happy. The best part, we had the whole entire pool to ourselves. Then the weather shifted to a colder evening, but luckily the swimming pool was heated. Our evening became even better due to happy hour. My friend and I enjoyed $5 tequila sunrises. The bartenders were so generous with their heavy hands pouring mainly tequila in our cocktails. They do have a great happy hour menu! We really enjoyed our stay and this trip was a memorable one. read more

The hotel needs renovation very badly. The rooms smell horrible... possibly mold or otherwise. The staff was great except for Muhammad, the GM. While I was at the lobby restaurant, I witnessed a homeless/drug addict harassing the front desk. I witnessed Muhammad try to get the person to leave. The man ultimately didn't leave. The man continued to harass the front desk staff for over an hour while Muhammad sat in the lobby having dinner with people who seemed to be his friends. The homeless man even harassed the bar staff while I was eating. They were clearly annoyed. All the meanwhile; Muhammad sat there (in a green t-shirt and other casual wear) watching this all happen. I confronted Muhammad and asked that he have the man leave. He asked "why"? I replied that me and his own staff haven't enjoyed this man disrupting and harassing us. He was pompous in telling me "he had it under control". Not what I expect from a GENERAL MANAGER. He clearly doesn't value his customers, and especially not his female staff at the front desk, whom are still enduring this situation. I am only leaving a 2 star because the rest of the staff, besides this pathetic excuse for a GM, was amazing. Perhaps Muhammad should value his male and female employees equally.... let's not forget about the rest of the people paying to be in his hotel lobby restaurant! loser. read more

The quality of bedding was subpar too thin didn't provide any warmth. No ventilation fan in bathroom which was needed, due to being too hot after a shower. Room was clean but overall for the price of $261.00 for one night and not including $126- tax which was added on as for another $25 check in fee which was not mentioned at the time of reserving the room over the phone was not worth it the amount. I feel I should be compensated for the discomfort I put my wife through. I was impressed with their Banquet Hall but nothing more than that. It could be the location or management because quality checks are not on the list. Like the saying goes first impressions are lasting impressions. This will most likely be the first and last time visiting this location. The sad thing about this experience that it would most likely happen to another paying customer for quality and it is not going to happen. I take pride in my work and how I present myself. The rooms are spacious and come with refrigerators and two complimentary water bottles for silver members and above. Consistent. That is my favorite thing about this place. I love that I can go here, and consistently gets a clean room, at a good price. The area around the hotel is not that impressive, however, it is within a five minute drive of a lot of great things that you'll want to do in Oxnard. The workout room, is nothing really to be impressed by they have some equipment, the most of it is old, and when I was in there last, the treadmill wasn't working. I've stayed here several times recently and needed to update my previous review. I've had very nice experiences here recently. The staff has changed and everyone I come into contact with has been friendly and welcoming. The rooms have also had some new beds and maintenance done that had previously been deferred. This is an old Garden Inn concept, but it's kept up well and serves my needs. Parking is free and plentiful. The lot of well lit and seems safe overall. The restaurant is decent, and the staff in there are attentive and friendly. Other than the rooms having thin walls where you can hear other people in their rooms, the hotel is great overall. The prices of the rooms are generally reasonable. Overall, this is a decent place to stay in Oxnard. read more

I stayed here when I was in town to run the Ventura Marathon. This was one of the few times where I did not stay at a Wyndham affiliated hotel since I had some One Key Cash with Hotels.com that was expiring. This location was conveniently located just off of 101 and the Rice Ave exit. Upon arrival, I noticed that the parking lot and hotel lobby was superior to comparable Wyndham hotels. I saw that they had reserved parking for Hilton Honors Diamond members. There's no such thing with Wyndham. The lady working at the front desk was very nice and courteous. It was much appreciated that I was able to check in ahead of the standard 3 pm check-in time without an extra fee. Now for the room, I found everything to be clean and in good working condition. However, there were a couple of things that were subpar compared to Wyndham hotels. The window was smashed, but it looked like they taped it up and called it good. The chair had a hole in the seat, but it doesn't look like they will be replacing it anytime soon. There was an Outback Steakhouse within walking distance as an alternative to eating at the hotel. Overall, not bad. However, it was not good enough to get me to switch hotel brands for future trips. read more

Pretty good experience for our mini-vaca. Good price, decent condition with amenities, clean sheets/towels after checking with my U/V light. Though the chair did have some "unseen by the human eye" stains. Also, THE only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars was because of the customer service by the "girl" at the front desk. A couple of times I said "hi" or "have a wonderful day", she replied with her head down on her book or whatever she was doing. Making eye contact with customers can make their stay a memorable to a lousy experience. It only takes 5 seconds just to make eye contact. I had to use earplugs to get some sleep due to the amount of noise coming from the busy 101 freeway that is right next to this place. You would think they would have built this hotel with windows that would block the amount of freeway noise. First of all, the service is great and I love that this place allows dogs. The breakfast isn't free, but you can pay for buffet items a la carte, which is really helpful and cost effective. I understand that this isn't the Four Seasons, but there's certain things that this Hilton Garden Inn needs to improve on. First of all, the pool/spa area had lots of trash around and the spa's water looked extremely dirty. I was really looking forward to relaxing in there, but I had no desire to even dip a toe in the brownish water. The treadmill was out of service, and for the first night the hot water in the shower didn't work. Luckily it was a hot day so I didn't necessarily need a hot shower, but it was still an inconvenience. Not sure if I would stay here again unless the price was right. read more

I usually don't review hotels on Yelp but I feel like I had to jump in due to all the recent negative reviews. This hotel is a GOOD hotel. Like seamless checkin (if you use digital key) and two people at the front desk every time I walked by. Rooms were extremely clean. Beds were comfy. We were in 704 and the bathroom and room did NOT have any mold smell, nor did I smell it anywhere in the hotel, including the laundry room. The downstairs bar has a nice lady working and lots of patrons on a Saturday night, which felt nice and lively. Laundry was clean, $1.50 per washer and $1.50 per dryer load. Front desk can exchange coins for cash. There are only two machines (or rather, 1 washer and 1 dryer) but it was empty when we used it. The snack bar is well stocked. We appreciated the paper plates and utensils since you could buy frozen food (hot pockets and the like). Parking lot was convenient and not overcrowded. Checked in at 7pm and still got a spot right near the door during the busy summer season. Lastly this hotel is fam friendly. No excessive noise or shady guests. Recommend 100%. read more

Upon checking into room 601, I was overwhelmed by the stench. It smelled like dead carcass. I thought it could be coming from the plumbing so I kept the bathroom door closed. The following morning I went to the front desk to request for a room change. There was none available until the later afternoon. I had a business meeting so I requested a room to be reserve when I return. Midday, I received a call from the front desk informing me the best they could do is have maintenance come into my room without my presence to check out the stench. They poured chemical down the drain as a solution... By the time I came back to my room, the room still had the stench along with the smell of chemicals. I went down to the front desk to ask for a room change as it is not reasonable or safe for me to stay in a room that has an overwhelming scent of dead carcass and chemicals. I want to be able to breathe in my sleep and wake up the following morning. The only option they provided was to cancel my reservation for the next 2 nights. I canceled my reservation and book at another hotel. I am not staying here ever again. I never been at a Hilton that lacks accommodation and customer service. read more

I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers. Or really any travelers. I'm shocked Hilton allows their name to be attached. 1) Shower did not work 2) Manager Mohammed repeatedly broke promises I stayed here for business in October. I had an early morning business meeting, but when I tried to take a shower upon waking, the shower didn't work. It produced a little dribble of water and that was it. I had to make do with a sponge bath so I could get out the door without being late, which is very disappointing for a Hilton Hotel. Upon returning, I let them know that I'd had an issue and would like a token credit on my account for the embarrassment and inconvenience of not being able to shower before a work event that I had travelled to. Not only did I not receive an apology, the sales manager said I should have gotten redressed, called down for maintenance, waited for them to come up and (maybe) fix it, then undress and shower again. Not feasible for business travelers on a schedule. The shower should have been working before I checked in. I have to wonder how it wasn't caught by the cleaning staff - how did they clean the shower between guests if the water didn't work? There were other little things, like general uncleanliness, broken decor, odor, etc, but the shower was the major issue. I was told the general manager, Mohammad, would follow up with me by phone. It's been almost two months; I've left him two voicemails reminding him I'm expecting a call. Not response from Mohammad. read more

I said yes, there are 150 dollar pants in the room, there are my only pants, can I please go get them. They said nope, oh and management and housekeeping is unavailable to talk to you. To no surprise we get a call 3 days later, we found your pants. No way, I would've never guessed captain obvious. They say, we will mail them to you. I'm thinking how nice. They arrived.....destroyed. Filed a complaint and was told they reached out to Oxnard management and they sent them in perfect condition. The pool was heated, and jacuzzi was nice. There's lots of debris in the water from the trees and plants but no biggy. Was able to order a couple of drinks from the bar (they will put it in a plastic cup bc there's no glass allowed). There's a bar/restaurant in the lobby which is very convenient and plenty of seating. Room service is also available. Plenty of parking, just don't park under a tree, my car was infested by ants. Great hotel in Ventura/Oxnard. Location is great with lots of retail nearby. 40 min from Santa Barbara. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Dog friendly and free parking. We tried the breakfast buffet and the restaurant downstairs. The food at the restaurant was actually pretty good surprisingly. The breakfast buffet was not the worst I've had but also not that good - it was complimentary for us so I'm not complaining. Rooms are pretty spacious. The elevator was broken for a very brief period in the morning but it got fixed pretty quickly. Overall I would stay here again. read more

I stayed here in the beginning of March 2024. I was in town for business, and was between appointments so I stopped in to see if I could check in early and what time that might be. This was at 10:30 am. I was told about 12:30. I left for my appointments and was excited to be able to come back @1:30 and check in so I could catch up on email and work on another project. When I got here I was told another hour or so.... We'll they could have just sad it will be 3:00 pm. 2 different staff people helped me and you would have thought them coming out for the office to tell me disappointing news was killing them. Just unfriendly, uncaring. When I checked in, Diamond status not acknowledged or waters provided. I thought, well everyone has some staffing issues, maybe it's a bad day. I came back for work and stayed here because it is 5 miles from my appointment. It was 1:30 and i tried to check in. I was told by the non energetic hostess that we don't do check in before 3 pm. I sit in the lobby, and watch them turn away 3 more traveling reps. I have never had an issue with checking in early at any Hilton property. I travel Hilton almost exclusively, and I enjoy the perks. But I will never stay here again. I don't think they understand their business clientele at this location. Even to sit in the lobby to work, wifi is not provided without a room. 2 stars for the clean and stocked snack area, friendly evening bar staff, and decent food in the restaurant/ cafe. read more

As a hotel service you always want to try your best to accommodate I would think, especially if it's stated on your website! How much more clear can that get / deceive a paying customer. We called to let them know we were checking with the 2 dog pet maximum which on their website is $50 and told us to please hold.. when they came back they said unfortunately their website is not accurate and they now charge $75. The hotel from the outside is inviting and clean and looks well maintained. The parking lot was very accommodating. There were plenty. The inside of the hotel was clean. There was no music or anything. The vibe since dead and the water had no lemons. The front desk was well kept and the ladies are nice, professional and helpful. The check in process was simple and seamless. The layout of the place was easy to navigate. The room was clean, well maintained and basic. However, when I came in - it was hot. Also, the reason for a low star than a 5 are two main things. Convenience and accommodation- Convenience- There is no usb plug for your phone. Cellphones today are all USB or USBC ready. There were none. Accommodation- The breakfast for $15 is fruits, bagels and cereals. No bacon, eggs, which is basic. You had to wait to order it and the kitchen makes it very inconvenient and not appetizing. If you want to save money of eggs and bacon or sausage, then at least make it according to however many people you have checked in and just cook for more or as needed if your going to charge $15 for it. Otherwise, charge zero for continental and then charge the made to order according to whatever your customers want. Also, I couldn't sleep- your pillows are way too soft and gave me a stiff neck and I couldn't sleep at all. Overall, it was okay. read more

I visited this place and they ripped me off in payment for a night that I wasn't even there, despite me trying to cancel.

The reason for having 1 star is the convenient location. Paid breakfast sucks. Basic bread, scrambled egg and bacon. Fruits and coffee. Done with my plate but got up to get some fruits. The service crew clean up my table when the coffee was not even touched yet. Checking in has always been a breeze. As we have 2 bookings with connecting date, front desk who checked us in assured us that they will inform housekeeping already and charged us twice for possible incidental. Come the day of the check out from our first booking they knocked on the door. I called up front desk and explained what transpired when we checked in. I was transferred to the supervisor. I explained again and now my head is already spinning as we just came back to sleep from working overnight. She was so rude and not even apologetic with the mistake/misunderstanding from when we checked in. Upon check out,, the the elevator stinks like sweat/uncleaned wet rug and so was the lounge area. They are in the hospitality business, they should remind their staff that. read more

I had a good stay here in room 310. I accidentally locked my key in the room and they issued me a new one after returning late from an event. I found the breakfast to be a pleasant experience. I opted for the $15 table which includes meat you have to ask for either bacon or sausage. The breakfast also comes with a drink also. The room was nice. My only complaint was the bathroom was kinda noisy with a constant water in pipes sound of neighbors. Also, the pillows were super uncomfortable and so soft. Too soft. When in Oxnard, I always enjoy staying at this hotel. It's conveniently located off the freeway and very accessible to multiple restaurants and shops just down the street. The hotel staff is always so nice and very accommodating. They really go out of their way to do a good job and making guests feel welcome. The rooms are always well kept and as advertised. The bedding is pretty nice and very clean. Rooms are decent size and pretty quiet even though it's close to the freeway. You cannot hear the freeway at all. They're cooked to order breakfast is always excellent. I've basically had almost everything on the menu from the French toast, pancake, breakfast meats, eggs, bread, and oatmeal. Whatever they charge, about $15, is well worth the money and the portion sizes are excellent. However this time around I just had to order room service for dinner. This time around I ordered the grilled chicken with rice and salad. The chicken was cooked just right which was moist and tender. It had a good flavor to it as well. I always do it with a house salad with ranch dressing. The salad was very fresh and tasted good but the ranch sauce was off the hook. Almost as good as toppers ranch sauce. Needless to say I was impressed. I would definitely order dinner from room service again if I felt like staying in. If you're ever in Oxnard I need a place to stay for the full service feel, I would definitely recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard. read more

3.5 stars on yelp is way to low for this place. Just recently stayed 5 nights and 5 days here, and it was quite an enjoyable stay here. 1st off the parking lot is huge. You can park almost all the way around the hotel, on at least 3 sides. Plenty of parking. You walk into a somewhat medium size lobby, where on the left side you can lounge, on the right side is the eating area/bar area. And a little to the left side is the check in desk. Asked for extra towels at the front desk and in about 10 minutes or so someone was knocking on my door to deliver them, so that was nice. All 5 days I was there the front desk people were really nice. At this time they don't offer daily room service, you have to request it for them to clean the room, which I didnt. They dont have complimantery breakfast here (dont know if they ever did). Their gym and pool is currently closed. But thats not on them, cant wait for the pandemic to end.... The actual room was nice. Not as large as other rooms I've stayed in around the area, but was sufficient for 1 person. Large king size bed that was pretty comfortable. Different pillows to choose from for you're preference. The ac/heater unit was extremely responsive to the thermostat on the wall. You can get it as cold as mid 50's to as warm as mid 80's. The second you switch it from heater to ac or vice a versa, within 5 seconds or less its switching to your command. Works extremely well. I loved the ac/heater unit. Worked flawlessly. Room has several lamps, which got the job done, but it was pretty dark in the room. Being on the 2nd floor, opening the curtains faced directly into the urgent care, so couldn't leave that wide open. The shower pressure was nice too. Water came out nice and strong, and the temperature gauge worked nicely too, so you can take a hot steamy shower, or a more lukewarm shower, or even a cold one if you wish. Only thing that didn't work that great was the tv. It swivels, so if you moved it one way, the connection would be all choppy and the frames would freeze. Move it another way and the picture quality was amazing. Weird... The insulation or the walls were pretty good. You didnt hear your neighbor talking, didnt hear the people going up and down the hallways. Minimally heard people slamming their doors. So it was really nice. The restaurant too was pretty good. They have a full bar during the night time. Food tasted pretty good as well. They even let you take it to go in litte plastic boba cups which is pretty cool. Service was quick and fast, people were really nice. Oh they also have a microwave and fridge, which was nice to reheat food when on a budget. So thats cool. This is a fantastic place to stay, and its right off the 101 freeway also. And if you make a left, there's a lot of different places you can eat at. I will definitely be staying here again when I'm in the area for work!!!! read more

This is a really nice location with your basic creature comforts nicely decorated with a full bar and restaurant located to the right of the lobby. Free continental breakfast is NOT available at this location, but they do offer free coffee, juices and fresh fruit in the downstairs lobby. No biggy. Just FYI for anyone who's searching, none of the rooms have a balcony, but they do have an outside area where smoking is allowed by the fountain and lounge/patio on the right-hand side of the building. Just keep it on the DL. The staff is pretty chill and helpful. Their sister hotel is adjacent to this one and all you do it walk through the parking lot so if you're in the area and need lodging for friends and family, but want to keep them close together - this is an optimal choice. This is a hassle-free location with spacious, clean rooms and key card access to the lobby and main areas throughout the facility for extra added security for its guests. The staff is excellent here and a pleasure! FYI: Starbucks Coffee is available for purchase at the hotel bar if you just have to get your Sbux fix without leaving the property. Hooray! read more

Very loud employees from Mission Foods disrupted the night with partying past midnight and kept knocking on random doors after Security showed up to end the party. Probably drunk because no one has ever knocked on my hotel door at 2 a.m. to date. There were also some issues with the water, and this property feels somewhat dated. I have absolutely no desire to return to this hotel or to the town of Oxnard again. read more
