Decent hotel, not luxury but its a place to sleep with great staff. There's also a restaurant inside with drinks avaliable. The rooms are a bit outdated but its not a big deal.

I stayed here when I was in town to run the Ventura Marathon. This was one of the few times where I did not stay at a Wyndham affiliated hotel since I had some One Key Cash with Hotels.com that was expiring. This location was conveniently located just off of 101 and the Rice Ave exit. Upon arrival, I noticed that the parking lot and hotel lobby was superior to comparable Wyndham hotels. I saw that they had reserved parking for Hilton Honors Diamond members. There's no such thing with Wyndham. The lady working at the front desk was very nice and courteous. It was much appreciated that I was able to check in ahead of the standard 3 pm check-in time without an extra fee. Now for the room, I found everything to be clean and in good working condition. However, there were a couple of things that were subpar compared to Wyndham hotels. The window was smashed, but it looked like they taped it up and called it good. The chair had a hole in the seat, but it doesn't look like they will be replacing it anytime soon. There was an Outback Steakhouse within walking distance as an alternative to eating at the hotel. Overall, not bad. However, it was not good enough to get me to switch hotel brands for future trips.

I usually don't review hotels on Yelp but I feel like I had to jump in due to all the recent negative reviews. This hotel is a GOOD hotel. Like seamless checkin (if you use digital key) and two people at the front desk every time I walked by. Rooms were extremely clean. Beds were comfy. We were in 704 and the bathroom and room did NOT have any mold smell, nor did I smell it anywhere in the hotel, including the laundry room. The downstairs bar has a nice lady working and lots of patrons on a Saturday night, which felt nice and lively. Laundry was clean, $1.50 per washer and $1.50 per dryer load. Front desk can exchange coins for cash. There are only two machines (or rather, 1 washer and 1 dryer) but it was empty when we used it. The snack bar is well stocked. We appreciated the paper plates and utensils since you could buy frozen food (hot pockets and the like). Parking lot was convenient and not overcrowded. Checked in at 7pm and still got a spot right near the door during the busy summer season. Lastly this hotel is fam friendly. No excessive noise or shady guests. Recommend 100%.

Let me start with excellent wait staff. 12.00 for this salad and 8.00 for this soup. Not much more to say. Dressing is good Soup is good If you don't want to go out they do look like they have a great menu but I have gluten allergies so it didn't work out for me.

Very nice hotel. Great staff and rooms were clean. Right off the freeway which is always a plus. Breakfast the next morning was good and filling. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers. Or really any travelers. I'm shocked Hilton allows their name to be attached. 1) Shower did not work 2) Manager Mohammed repeatedly broke promises I stayed here for business in October. I had an early morning business meeting, but when I tried to take a shower upon waking, the shower didn't work. It produced a little dribble of water and that was it. I had to make do with a sponge bath so I could get out the door without being late, which is very disappointing for a Hilton Hotel. Upon returning, I let them know that I'd had an issue and would like a token credit on my account for the embarrassment and inconvenience of not being able to shower before a work event that I had travelled to. Not only did I not receive an apology, the sales manager said I should have gotten redressed, called down for maintenance, waited for them to come up and (maybe) fix it, then undress and shower again. Not feasible for business travelers on a schedule. The shower should have been working before I checked in. I have to wonder how it wasn't caught by the cleaning staff - how did they clean the shower between guests if the water didn't work? There were other little things, like general uncleanliness, broken decor, odor, etc, but the shower was the major issue. I was told the general manager, Mohammad, would follow up with me by phone. It's been almost two months; I've left him two voicemails reminding him I'm expecting a call. Not response from Mohammad.

    My perfect condition pants.

They offer surrey rentals to use on the bike path in front of the resort. They have a small but well equipped fitness center. Couple of issues: ants in the bathroom, completely empty shower gel and sink had drainage issues.

Rooms are not cleaned daily by housekeeping, so don't expect that. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big. We tried to order drinks and food at the pool, but that wasn't available despite having order tags on all the chairs at the pool. They do have a small bar next to the pool, but I didn't venture over there. Towels are at the pool and there is an attendant there who takes your room number when you pick them up. But, they constantly leave and that's a problem as they take your room number when you pick them up! So, I'm hoping I didn't get charged for any towels I returned. On a positive note, the hotel has direct beach access and that was the highlight of our weekend getaway! You can walk directly from the hotel to the sand and you can rent beach at the hotel which is nice. The rest of the hotel, outside of our room was really nice.

The room was very spacious, although it could use a bit more natural light. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was how clean everything was. Overall, I had a good stay. The only downside is that many things in the room feel outdated, including the air conditioner, carpet, and bathroom door. Some renovations and updates to at least a portion of the rooms would make a noticeable difference. Still, considering the price and location, this motel offers good value for money.

The other only dining location that was better than this one was a hotel we stayed at in Dubai. My wife had requested a 2nd floor unit because we wanted a kitchenette but initially they put us in a ground level unit. The gentleman at the check in desk was more than happy to give us a 2nd floor unit with a kitchenette since it was there mistake. The room was very spacious and the kitchenette was awesome. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as described in other reviews but we had no issues at all. This establishment is near restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores so you can pretty much get anything you need. I was also very impressed with the Ice Machine, you have to actually use your key card in the machine to get Ice. There is a CVS across the street and please be advised there are railroad tracks about 100 yards from the motel. Traffic could be a slight issue because actual freight trains do come through the area. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!!!

This is something I wish hotels would do. The "excellent" rating stated is untrue. Our room was like a dingy motel room. The furniture was all scuffed, paint was peeling, the table top finish was poorly done. We asked for a room away from the construction, instead every morning we woke up to constant beeping from a tractor backing up. Since it is a residential complex. There was also the early noise of people starting their noisy cars to go to work. Overall it was the worst stay of our week-long journey.

I reserved a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment that comfortably accommodated three of us, and it could easily host a family of six thanks to its spacious layout and a convenient pullout couch downstairs. The amenities exceeded my expectations--shower pressure was excellent, making quick and refreshing showers easy especially if you're a big group. The condo includes utilities for four people, with plenty of towels provided (Thanks Tina). While there's no air conditioning, the ocean breeze just a block away kept the unit comfortably cool throughout our stay. A nice bonus was having a hot tub in each unit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Parking was also straightforward, with one dedicated spot included. A heads-up for warmer months: if you're sensitive to heat, keep in mind that summer temperatures can get quite hot, and the unit might feel warm without A/C. Additionally, because of the communal setup, it can get quite loud--sounds from neighboring units are audible--so don't forget your earplugs if you value quiet. Off-season, this spot is ideal for friends' getaways or a quick romantic escape. Overall, a charming and practical choice that offers great value and a fantastic location near the ocean.

Hospitality is not simply a service offered here--it is the very heart of the culture. From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth, welcoming smiles, and a level of kindness that immediately made us feel valued as guests. Every interaction with the staff reflected a sincere commitment to hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. It is evident that caring for others is not just part of their job description; it is something they genuinely embrace. We would especially like to recognize and thank Bridgette, who welcomed us upon our arrival. Bridgette went above and beyond to ensure we knew our way to our room, had everything we needed, and felt completely comfortable from the very beginning of our stay. More than that, she made us feel as though we were home for the night rather than simply guests checking into a hotel. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care exemplify what exceptional hospitality should be. Her guest service is truly stellar and deserving of recognition. Beyond the outstanding service, the location is ideal. Hotel San Buena is within walking distance of the heart of the city, providing convenient access to a wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Whether you are looking for casual dining, upscale cuisine, or something in between, the diverse selection of nearby restaurants offers something for every taste and preference. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Rich in historical architecture and character, Hotel San Buena offers a unique experience that blends timeless elegance with modern comfort. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are transported to another era. The attention to architectural detail, charm, and preservation of the building's history create an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and memorable. Perhaps one of the most refreshing aspects of our stay was discovering that the hotel is exactly what it appears to be on its website. In an era where photos can sometimes overpromise, Hotel San Buena exceeds expectations. The beauty, character, cleanliness, and ambiance showcased online are an accurate reflection of the experience guests receive upon arrival. Simply put, it is beautiful. An additional feature we greatly appreciated was the secure, guest-only parking. Knowing that parking was safe, well-maintained, and reserved exclusively for hotel guests provided an added sense of comfort and peace of mind throughout our stay. The team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay. Their attentiveness, positive attitudes, and genuine care create an environment that feels welcoming, personal, and authentic. For anyone searching for accommodations in the area, my husband and I wholeheartedly encourage you to make Hotel San Buena your first choice. Whether traveling for business, leisure, or a special occasion, you will find a property where exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, historic charm, and heartfelt hospitality come together seamlessly. In an industry where genuine hospitality can sometimes be difficult to find, Hotel San Buena stands as a shining example of what it means to make guests feel truly welcome. We leave with wonderful memories, deep appreciation for the staff, and every intention of returning in the future.
