I came in for a basic gel pedicure, and the total was $48, not including my tip. The price is a little high for my roughly 35-minute pedicure. The lady who gave me the pedicure cut my nails and painted them nicely, but when it came to the massage, she was basically just applying lotion to my legs. There was no pressure at all. She also tried to get me to do a different pedicure option, and when I stuck with the basic one, she didn't really seem too happy about it. This place is big and nicely decorated. They have a lot of colors to choose from, a good amount of tables for manicures, and plenty of chairs for pedicures. Their pedicure chairs are nice, and the massage function on the chairs is great! I love the pressure. You can make an appointment over the phone or book one online as well.

My go to spot for a nice, calm, quality self care day. The staff are always friendly and approachable. I typically get the spa pedicure and spa manicure. My legs and hands always feel so refreshed and nice after each session. Would definitely recommend, if you're looking for a simple and nice nail salon to give you a relaxing spa-like mani-pedis. Good for the price point as well.

Helen has been doing my nails over 5 years now and always does an amazing job! She's a fast, accurate, friendly, highly skilled nail technician who also does excellent nail art! It's a full spa experience when you go to Venus nail salon in Elk Grove!

it was nice service. i got in around 12pm and there were a lot of space open. i had cici as my nail tech. she was really nice. overall my experience was good there's a little glitter from the chrome where i didn't want it but it's ok they're still really cute.

I've been coming here for a long time now and everytime I leave I'm happy with what I got. Recently i've been going to nail artist Helen and she has been doing me right every single time that's why I keep coming back. The vibes are always great and relaxing I would recommend coming here 10/10.

My daughter and I have been here several times and each time it has been such an excellent experience! My daughter loves the kids sized chairs and I love the massage chairs. It's a gorgeous spa with a relaxing ambiance, friendly and talented staff that use high quality materials, and most importantly everything is sparkly and sanitized. I used to come here a long time ago but stopped since it's quite a distance for me. I ended up going to a different place closer to home and the person who does my pedicure ended up moving. So I decided to come back here to Venus Nail. I haven't been to this nail salon in so many years and really needed a pedicure. That's when I met Ana. She is super-friendly and very sweet. She is amazing. I'm very picky when it comes to someone taking care of my feet and she did a wonderful job. I'm so glad she was the one who did my pedicure the first time coming back. She is the reason why I keep coming back. She also responds quickly when I message her for her availability. I think this is the only nail salon that offers customers drinks. A+! read more

Pedicure by the boy is 10/10. Tried to gelx for the first time, showed the lady the pic inspo of what I wanted & told her I wanted gelx. She said she was able to do it. When it was time to put on the paint, she told me she couldn't do it bc the design can only be able to get done with acrylic nails, so I had no choice but to opt with plain polish. Not happy with how it turned out & less than 24hrs, my nails are already lifting! Spent $60+ on the gelx. read more

My partner and I went for pedicures, I added on a gel manicure as well. After tip, we spent about 150$. The GOOD: The branding, ambiance, and cleanliness were notable! I really like the pedicure area. John, who did my pedicure was fantastic, upselling without being pushy, having a bit of small talk, and really thorough with my service. The bad (and why it's a 2 star review, even given "the good"): The technician working on my boyfriend's feet never spoke to him and only put on one coat of polish- additionally, it was supposed to be white polish, but came out of the bottle a dingy light gray instead (issue for the salon, not the tech, to be clear). The tech that did my gel manicure did not push down my cuticles, but just painted over them which made them snag on my hair and clothes. I have attached a photo of each hand after less than 24 hours- I only have 3 nails intact. Given the fact that I literally went grocery shopping and ran errands in that time, I'm a bit muffed about the longevity of the polish. I had high hopes for this spot, but sad to say I won't be giving them a second visit. read more

The atmosphere is calming, the staff is wonderful, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of service. Tiffany is the best! She takes great care of my hands and feet, pays attention to detail, and makes sure everything looks neat without overdoing it. I love coming to Venus! I get greeted right away and everyone always makes me feel welcomed. It's always clean and modern, and all tools are always sterilized. They have new state of the art massage chairs which definitely relax me while I'm getting my pedis done. My manicurist is Kim I have been coming to her for about 7 years. Sounds funny, but eh, at least I don't have the mushroom top head look. My thick hair and the cut I want is not an easy hair cut to do. The description sounds funny, but with gel it's a clean military look or akin to school kids going to grade school. Not my thing but, the maturity aura can be fixed with longer hair on top. Believe the best way to say is it that I have a heart shaped face. That means the top of my hair should look like an egg to my preference. The haircut I want isn't for the faint. Mess up and you cannot fix it. It's why most fades on my hair type sticks out and is not flat on the sides like a flat top. Once Mindy understood I was willing to take the risk, I was rewarded in something that many hairdressers cannot cut and or is willing to do. To be fair, I get my hair cut once a month. But it's usually the best way to learn as the hair has grown out and everything needs to be redone again. Note. Tip what you can, I usually tip hourly wage max to half. Mindy gets more, that's how much I like the cut. 15 to 25 percent minimum wage is a good tip. That being said Mindy takes time, is patient, and remembers you. Everything you would want in a hairdresser. I really should come every two weeks but I got things to do. Mindy does textbook style hair cutting. Which doesn't work with my hair cause you don't really expect an Asian with an Afro like hair type, thick, and straight. Takes time to learn cultured hair types. My hair is a rarity. Mindy learned quickly how to cut and tame it. Qualities of a true hair dresser. Note. I got my hair cut by Lynn too. She's good, but she's busy and I believe she understands my haircut and hair is annoying to do. The guy and new girl are good too. Just a preference and patience to be had.

They also have a myriad of options for nail polish colors. I ended up selecting a gel nail polish, which at the time of writing this review, a month later, is still intact on my toe nails. (I know - I need another pedicure soon. lol) I will say the price was a little bit costly compared to other places I have been, however, that may be because we selected one of the highest packages. Either way, my mother enjoyed the shop and even upon leaving the guy at the register, welcomed us to come back by giving us a 10% off our next service coupon. I will say due to the friendly staff, the clean environment and all of the safety protocols that they take to make sure that you get a clean experience, I would definitely visit the shop again. Here's a more professional and polished version of your review: I've visited this salon before and had a great experience--the technician I saw last time was kind, professional, and made me feel very comfortable. It was also convenient and relaxing, which is what brought me back. Unfortunately, this visit was quite different. I found the staff to be overly pushy, constantly trying to upsell additional services, which made the experience feel more transactional than enjoyable. Even the customer next to me, who seemed unfamiliar with gel nails, was pressured into upgrades she didn't fully understand, which felt inappropriate. The salon has updated their massage chairs, which is a nice touch, but I had a hard time navigating the settings. After spending several minutes trying to figure it out, I asked for help, especially since I find the tapping and shaking settings uncomfortable--but I didn't receive much assistance. While the space is still clean and the location convenient, the aggressive sales tactics and lack of attentiveness during this visit were disappointing. This place is out of the way for me...but worth the drive. I "accidentally" found it while visiting friends in Elk Grove, and now I am hooked! I am VERY picky about my nails and they are too! That is what I love. So far I have seen two manicurist in this shop, and I was super impressed with their attention to detail. They did not snear or even seem slightly irritated with how picky I am and worked on my hands until I was 100% satisfied. Also worth mentioning is the spa pedicure. FABULOUS and the whole place is sparking clean...which really makes a gal feel comfortable. Having been to some,,,well lets just say, not as clean places in the Sacto area this place is great, bar none. The foot/let rub I received both times was to die for. I really enjoy this nail shop . My cousin referred me to John because he always does amazing . I am really particular on the way my coffin is done and John is the only one I allow to do my nails I have been to him about 4 times and he continues to impress me . Hell usually do his own creative ideas and makes me feel confident in stepping out my comfort zone. I came in wanting a nude natural for work and he said have u tried Ombré and I said no I never have and John said he'll do a natural ombré and I figured sure why not and I never had gotten white before not a big fan but WOW! I highly recommend Venus Nail and Spa! The shop is very clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I got a French pedicure with regular polish, but the polish had a hard time drying, and the French tip kept smudging, so the lines weren't as clean as I'd hoped. My wonderful nail tech redid it three different times, always staying so patient and kind throughout the whole process. In the end, I decided to switch to gel polish, and she made sure it came out perfectly. Beyond the great service, their prices are very reasonable, and I love that they offer the option to pay with Venmo if you don't have cash on hand. Overall, it's a fantastic place with great people, and I would absolutely recommend it! read more

The customer service is absolutely horrible. The manager (male) should be fired. The nails techs have bad attitudes. Cindy aka Cici is good at what she does but has a bad attitude and double books at times. Other nail techs don't listen to customers. They do what they want to do. They aren't very friendly to African American clientele as I have experiences and others around me having to experience bad service. The owner Tracy H. she's rude to but if wish to speak with someone that's who you should speak. The manager is useless and rude. read more

I have been coming to this Venus since they 1st opened. I love the ambiance and aesthetics. They really make this a comfortable, relaxing and inviting atmosphere. They have a great selection of services, so there is something for everyone. I also love that they refresh their interior decor every couple of years to keep things new and fresh. They alll do a great job. This is one one the few nail salons I can visit without requesting a certain technician and I am confident that I will leave happy. I started going here 7 years ago and after a 3year break to try and get my own nails to grow and another 6 months trying to find a place closer to my house I am back. They are great. I usually see Jenna but if I don't make an appointment it can be hard to get her. Even after the break, they all remembered me and my daughter. It is clean and everyone there is nice. Awful..some girl named Lily did both hands and feet..she didn't give the full massage with my feet..all nails were so sloppy! NEVER have I ever seen such sloppy work.. I had to leave before I lost my self control.. The salon tends to get very busy and crowed, especially on Sat and around the holidays. Of all the ladies in the shop, I like Lisa working on my nails the best. She is very meticulous and gentle. She also listens, which is very important. I am very ticklish and sensitive to filing, but she was very gentle and sweet. I LOVE LOVE her. The other workers in the shop are okay, but not on par w/ Lisa. One thing I recommend from Lisa is the French mani and pedi. read more

The floor was a little bit funky, but they had a ton of business, so I didn't hold it against them (I came in close to closing time). I had a pretty good pedicure and a killer gel fill. Absolutely the worst services!! My daughter asked for dipping powder and they did acrylics and not done well. When I called, the owner told me to shut up and listen!! We paid the price of dipping for acrylic nails, on the top of it we got yelled at on the phone instead of fixing it. Beware of extreme rudeness and bad customer service. read more
