Somehow Venuti's got my work email address (not from me) a few years ago. They have been spamming me there ever since. I wrote an email to them a few months ago to stop emailing me, but it continues on. I have great disdain for any restaurant that spams it customers or non-customers, especially after being asked not to. UPDATE: Frank made some smartalec remarks to my original post. So let me reply. He said I should have clicked on the "Unsubscribe" link in the emails. I do not click on email links because because you never know what virus unscrupulous spammers will include in those links. That is why I emailed instead to have my email address removed. As far as signing up on the website. I never signed up or been there. So I do not know who may have entered my email address. Regardless, my email to stop emailing me, should have been enough to have my email removed from the spam list. Anyway, the spamming has now stopped (2 years later). So thank you Venutti's. However based on Frank's response and the reviews of many other former patrons, it sounds like 1 star is as good as it gets for this restaurant. read more

We dined there tonight. We had 4 people in our party, drinks and dinner. The food was delicious and drinks were always quickly delivered. We would like to compliment our server, her name was Sarah. Where do I begin? First off, I am Italian and come from a big Italian family....we know good food. Venuti's has GOOD food. About three years ago I passed Venuti's for the first time and fell in love with the look of the building. I told my boyfriend at the time "I want to get married there." My now Husband and I just got back from our honeymoon and the first thing on my to do list was write a review for this beautiful venue. Venuti's was the only venue that we viewed before making the decision that this was OUR venue. Karen Dragel is one of the HUGE reasons we chose to go with Venuti's after just one visit. Her warm and professional personality were very much appreciated throughout the stressful process of planning a wedding. As a control freak, I followed up with her many times and each time she was already a step ahead of me (thank you for your patience, Karen!). She truly made me feel like I was the only bride that she was working with...I have heard horror stories of just being another wedding...'get in and get out.' Not with Karen, she truly cared that our day was perfect and it was just that...PERFECT. I could go on and on how beautiful the venue was, and how amazing cocktail hour was (I could die for those coconut shrimp) but what really mattered the most-the food, and the service. I have gotten countless compliments on how HUGE and juicy the filet was. This is rarely the case with cooking for a group of 200+ but the food was outstanding-from the salad to the pasta, the entire meal was perfection. Not only was the food delicious but the service was outstanding...asking each guest what temp they wanted their steaks and some people even decided last minute instead of steak they wanted the salmon. No problem! My server was so attentive and even delivered my drinks to me from the bar the whole night...talk about feeling important :) I can't say enough good things about Karen and Venuti's, our day was absolutely perfect down to every detail and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out! read more

Venuti's has been on my list of "places to try" for a while, and my friends decided to go there the other night, so I tagged along for the ride. As far as atmosphere goes, Venuti's is very nice. I could definitely see why people want to hold their wedding receptions here. The place is pretty gorgeous. We were seated right away (we had a reservation) at a spacious table. There were 7 of us, so it was nice to not be squeezed in at a small table. Our server was very nice, but overall I'm not sure that I would say he was the most attentive. There was a good span of time that we didn't see him at all. The food took a while to get to us as well. He did, however, split the risotto my friend and I shared in two separate bowls. So that won him some brownie points. As much as I love Italian food, I have always had an issue with most Italian restaurants. The amount they charge for things that are not that expensive to make absolutely blows my mind. Venuti's is no exception. My mouth dropped a little when I saw the prices. Yikes. Not a cheap meal...alright...but if the food is fantastic then no biggie right? The food was good, better than many places I have been to. But, the shrimp risotto we ordered only had 4 shrimp between the two of us...the rest was risotto. It tasted great...but was it worth $27? Not really. I will say that the portions are really big. However, I would rather pay less and have less on the plate. Someone in our group ordered one of the specials and it was almost $50. Woah buddy! Watch out for those specials! So, it was ok. I would come back, it didn't offend me. But I wouldn't rave about it and come here for every meal (I couldn't afford it even if I wanted to). read more

Went there last month and had a great experience. My friend caught the eye of our server and we were well taken care of. We waited for our food for all of 5 minutes, seriously! The food was so good, we all had raviolis and my other friend had a salad. she said it was very good. They brought us a dessert, on the house, made it that much yummier! My husband and I, and about 300 of our closest friends and family, celebrated our wedding reception at Venutis in March of 2019....what can I say other than ....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. From the time we started the wedding planning process back in Feb of 2018, Karen D. was exceptionally patient, helpful, and accommodating. She really made the vision of our wedding reception come to life by adding her own expertise and giving great suggestions regarding food, layout, vendors etc. Our menu tasting last Fall was like a reception in itself, and Frank really took the time to come sit with us to go over every detail regarding the food itself and it's presentation. Ruby designed and printed our menu cards, and she even matched our aesthetic from the invitations. The venue is stunning, and if you are looking for a warm, romantic ballroom, this is the place. We chose to book the entire venue for the evening, a large space, but they were able to make it feel intimate! Our guests wined and dined over some of the BEST food. Everything was plated beautifully, it was a show in and of itself. Our antipasto spread was a showstopper and we are still receiving compliments! THANK YOU to the bartenders and wait staff for an exceptional night of service. Theresa looked over us at the head table. She was kind, and always around for anything we needed. My only complaint is lack of attentiveness from our server, Kim. Could it be any more obvious that since there is gratuity automatically added to the check for parties of 8 or more that our server felt one does not have to work well for a tip? Go once for a laugh, because the drink prices are sky-high and if you don't look like your on the cast of Jersey Shore they won't serve you anyway! Pros: pretty venue, high guest capacity, and good wedding cake and bread Cons: food and service - really bad The venue is beautiful, but the food is not very good. My brother had his wedding there, and the portions of soup and salad were almost embarrassing. I'm pregnant with twins and was hoping for a little more soup, and the server had a huge pot of it right on his cart..and when I asked for more soup he said "let me ask" (it was obvious he was blowing me off) and never came back. Also, nobody ever filled the glasses of water at our table (and there weren't water pitchers.. So half the people at our table were sitting with empty water glasses most of the meal). Then the food came out and I was thinking to myself how bad it tasted (how do you mess up a double baked potato?).. And then I overheard other people talking about how bad it was. I had my wedding here in June, and I was so excited because the place is gorgeous and I loved the food there. But when it came the actual wedding events (rehearsal and wedding), we were very disappointed. Food = amazing. Venue = beautiful. Sales rep = the WORST. Brides - Beware if you get Pat B. as your sales rep. We had a morning wedding and lunch reception because my (then) fiance and I had a very small budget. We wanted to do the best we could with the little that we had and thought a lunch buffet reception was the perfect fit. But apparently - Venuti's (or Pat, specifically) isn't too accommodating and kind to small budget weddings because he DEFINITELY made me feel un-important. Every time I had questions, he would sigh and answer them - but sometimes not very thoroughly. But, I let it go because I would figure it out eventually and just rolled with the punches. ONE WEEK before our wedding rehearsal (and wedding) Pat called me and said that we would have to cut our wedding rehearsal short from 1 hour to 30 minutes. Shocked - I asked why that was, and he said that he "didn't know that there was another wedding planned during that time" and that I had to be done by 5pm. (We had scheduled it to be from 4:30 - 5:30pm). You mean to tell me that you "didn't know" about a wedding 1 week before it was happening??? When I told him that I didn't think 30 minutes was enough, he simply (and unapologetically) replied, "Well, it's a short aisle. You don't need more than 30 minutes." Brides - Is this what you want to hear 1 week before your wedding? Someone to basically tell you, "too bad" and to tell you how much time you need??? If he would've been empathetic, I would have been more understanding... but he was a jerk about it. So - seeing as I had no choice, I asked my wedding party to get there by 4:15 so we would at least have 45 minutes. When we got there - guess what, he tells me that we actually have to be done BEFORE 5pm - when he told me before that we had to be done BY 5pm - because his other wedding was starting at 5pm. Mind you - this was different info than he gave before... and he kept rushing us out of there because the other wedding was starting soon. When I asked him about it - he waved me off (one day before the wedding!) and said - "well you wouldn't listen when I tried to tell you!" Again - big jerk who had no empathy. I DID listen - that's why we got there early. Not to mention, a liar because the info he gave me the previous week was different than what he was telling me that day. To make a long story short, we made it work. The day of the wedding came and he NEVER ONCE checked on our wedding or reception to make sure everything was going ok. My vendors and family members - who knew nothing of how he had been treating me - all asked - "what's wrong with the guy in the office?" because he was really not helpful and short when it came to answering their questions. For ex - we needed a pair of scissors and asked him to borrow one. He said they didn't have one. They have 2 offices, a restaurant and a banquet hall... you mean that there is not one pair of scissors in that whole place??? He didn't even get up off his chair to search or try to ask others. Of course, I didn't let his poor attitude ruin my day... like I said, the venue was perfect and the food was amazing. But brides, be warned about booking your wedding here. Maybe he'll treat you differently if you have a large budget. But if you decide to have your wedding at Venuti's and you get Pat as your sales rep, I would save yourself the hassle and attitude and ask for someone else. read more

This was my second visit here. The first visit the food was fresh, hot and well prepared. This visit today was with my family. My daughter ordered the Salmon. The potatoes were dry and the Salmon sauce had a weird taste. She ordered a kiddy cocktail which took the bartender 3 try's and still couldn't get it right. Finally the waiter went and did it himself. My son ordered the Luguini and clams. The clams were very gritty and did not taste fresh. My wife ordered the pasta and marinara sauce. This was a simple dish which they got right. I ordered the chicken parmesan. This meal was descent. The service was slow but the bead and pizza bread was good. Simply put: I LOVE this restaurant! I've done just about everything here from banquets to drinking on a Saturday in the Vlounge and Sunday brunch in the restaurant. Food was delicious for starters, I recommend trying what they offer from the specials menu! The risotto is always good and our server said they dry age all their steaks ! I had a great time there Friday evening. We had dinner at the lounge/bar area. The seafood salad and crispy spicy calamari were fresh, scrumptious, and portions were large enough for all 4 of us to share. We also shared 5 different desserts. The choc cake was to die for and the home made creme brûlée melted in our mouths. The wait staff are friendly and checked on us frequent enough even when the place became packed. The music got little louder and the dancing began soon after 9pm. But we were still able to carry a conversation in spite of the great 90s music. I've been here twice: once as part of a small wedding shower luncheon where we ordered off the menu and another as a guest at a wedding reception. Service is great. They are friendly and are quick to answer any questions. The decor is absolutely beautiful. Having just opened in the past year or two, everything has been well maintained. Clean and inviting, you almost feel as if you're stepping into another land when you're on the banquet side. Another plus, the banquet side has complimentary valet. The food is what detracts this from being a great facility. When I dined for lunch, I ordered steak and asked for it to be done medium. It came out and was well done. They took it back although ensuring me that it was cooked to the proper doneness and cooked another at medium rare. Again, I thought it well beyond well done but decided to just stick with it. Other dishes I tried at the luncheon tasted good but nothing out of this world. At the reception I attended, the cream of chicken soup was delicious. The main entree consisted of a fillet mignon and a chicken cordon blue (definitely way too much food). None of the fillets were cooked to a consistent doneness. Mine was well done while my date's was medium rare (of course he let me eat his =P) The chicken was a bit on the dry side. What blew me away though was the dessert table they had set up. It was at least 12ft long and had everything you could possibly dream of. This definitely made up for the rest of the food that evening. I found myself trying not to eat everything in site and only grabbed some chocolate covered strawberries which were heavenly. Overall, of the banquet facilities I've been to in the suburbs, this would definitely rank up high on my list for overall enjoyment. read more

Went to a wedding here in the winter, and the food was horrible! A friend of mine asked me if I liked it for her wedding, and I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! It's a big, white, and sterile looking place, but they should pay a lot more attention to the food quality. Obviously the people who enjoy there food are not foodies in any way. Also, I had a potato in the shape of a mozzarella stick. Lol. There are so many more great places for a wedding with good food. Venuti's is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever dined. The travertine walls , marble fireplace, and grand columns look like something the Romans would have built during their empire. My wife and I stopped here for an early weekend before Valentines Day dinner. The meal begins with fresh bread including tomato pan bread and light tasting olive oil with fresh Parmesan and possibly Romano cheese on the linen clad tables. I ordered a Stella and she had a French Martini. The waiter handed me a bottle of cold beer and I found it strange that I had to ask for a glass, but he immediately brought me a chilled Stella glass. We ordered the baked clams, veal picante , chicken picante, and side garden salads with italian dressing. The clams tasted fresh, the salad was crisp and just the perfect portion, I enjoyed my veal, but my wife didn't like the chicken. It wasn't because the chicken wasn't good it was because she expected egg battered and ordered picante instead of Marsala by mistake. The two reasons I didn't rate five stars is.. 1) I had to ask for a glass for my drink 2) the waiter didn't take our entree order until 10 minutes after the appetizers were finished The overall price was pretty inexpensive. About $35 dollars per person with cocktails and tip. We will return. read more

This Italian restaurant in Addison is good not great because I'm not a fan of pasta but I like a good steak. I had a Steak with a few appetizers and stayed until 10 or so on a Friday night. They have music and entertainment in the weekends and is a good date spot. read more

The amount of extras that most places charge for were included in the contract. 6 hours of top shelf liquor, no extra charge. Free cake, great cake. Not to mention, the food was delicious. Where can you go and get food specials, extremely well priced drinks and entertainment all wrapped up in a CLEAN, REFRESHING ATMOSPHERE! ONLY at VENUTIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dining and event experience expands world wide. The amenities' featured at Venutis are outstanding headlining bands, meeting space, OUTSTANDING banquet area as well as top notch employees!!! It's like Cheers where everyone knows you name. THIS is a MUST to EXPERIENCE!! Once you've been to Venuti's , there no other restaurants that will compare. So...when you walk into this banquet hall you can't help but say "WOW!" It's gorgeous. The venue is perfect for big events...My sister had her engagement party here and this place was breathtaking to look at...and and outside patio with fountains..just perfect for pictures. However the process on getting the menu figured out and working with the staff was soooo painful. The week of the event there were changes being made to the menu and they went back on their word about certain items that they "tossed in for free". The people that my sister dealt with seemed arrogant and rude. Now mind you for an engagement party to have 200 people, you'd think this owner would say, shit we better be on our best behavior, if this is JUST the engagement party...helloooo the wedding will have 500 people! Service during the party was average, nothing super friendly, nothing stellar, just basic. The food came out kind of cold (not like ice but definitely not hot) and they completely left out some of the picked out side dishes for half the people's entrees). The microphone didn't work very well (they were supposed to do a sound check BEFORE we had guests arrive)... Overall not the best experience, but the venue is definitely something to see. Maybe suggest to your friends to host an event there like a birthday or graduation, but definitely not an event for 200 people or more! read more

Came here with a group of friends and family on Friday night (April 20) for dinner and to enjoy the live music. We had reserved a table in the bar area which was ready for us. We met one member of our group at the bar and were immediately greeted abruptly by the bartender who told us that we couldn't sit in two seats and slammed down two reserved signs. We ordered two glasses of wine and the bartender told us "if you're gonna run a tab I need a card". We told her we were going on to dinner and she rudely repeated it. She served our wine. We paid her cash, including a gratuity. She took the money and turned away...no thank you...nothing. Really rude. We were seated at the table for dinner with the rest of our group and the server seemed frazzled. I know it was busy but the service was off and rushed. Our appetizer orders arrived and were wrong...fried seafood platter rather than grilled as we ordered. She took it away and told us it would be 45 minutes to prepare what we really wanted. We ordered a platter of grilled calamari because she said that would be faster. Another couple that was with us almost immediately received the order of grilled seafood platter that they had ordered for their dinner. Our grilled seafood platter also magically appeared a few minutes later. Sub-par quality on both our platters: tough octopus, rubbery calamari and two shrimp per platter. Dinner continued with entrees arriving at random times for people in our group. My partner and I both ordered chicken vesuvio. It was bland and kind of sloppy. I've had better food at a buffet. Service at this point was almost nonexistent. Half the table had water refilled and when the pitcher was empty the server walked away and never retuned to fill the rest of the empty glasses. Plates and glasses remained on the table (including one plate with a piece of that rubbery calamari staring me in the face...still on the table when we paid our check). The live music was good. But the food? Not so much. We won't be back. read more

Over the last few months my family and I have gone to Venuti's twice. The food is very good with a lot of choices. I would recommend stopping in for dinner however skip the bar. Both times we stopped in at the bar and the female bartender was rude and lacked customer service skills. She shared with us that she had been there since the restaurant opened. My wife and I got married here 11/09/18 and we couldn't have had a better experience! Venuti's offered us the best wedding package deal by far without sacrificing quality! Everything about this place is top notch. We had the pleasure of working with Karen and she went above and beyond for us. We had a ton of questions and worries but Karen was always easy to contact and always responded ASAP. She relieved us of so much wedding anxiety! As far as the actual wedding and reception...Venuti's made it all PERFECT! The staff worked flawlessly and everything was so smooth. The food was amazing and the portions were big (nobody likes being hungry at a wedding). Top shelf open bar that STAYED OPEN DURING DINNER. Meh. Unimpressed. Walls between banquet rooms are PAPER thin. So much so that the wedding ceremony I was attending was completely drowned out by the bridal party introductions at the reception next door. I felt so awful for our bride and groom. Understanding that if nothing can be done about sound proofing- staff should work better on timing if the events. Also cocktail hour was WAY TOO crammed and the bar music was way too loud and overshadowed the wedding. I feel like it's trying to be a banquet hall- but then get revenue from a bar as well. Old rickety desks and an old school copy machine in the entrance was a turn off as well. read more

The lunch buffet was spectacular. Many different varieties of classic italian foods along with fantastic finger foods and fresh salads make it a home run. Brunch wise.. this is a 5 star review for sure. This place is a big Italian banquet hall it seems like. My cousin took my wife and I here when we came to visit from NJ. Big Italian Banquet hall style Brunch done proper! This is the way a true brunch is suppossed to be. Meat station, fruit station, bread station, egg station.. name it! Great atmosphere for brunch. This is long overdue, but here goes! I chose Venuti's for my June 27, 2013 wedding---honestly, it was hands down the BEST decision I made throughout the year-and-a-half long planning process. Venuti's was the first venue I saw as I started my search process, and it set the standards pretty damn high for anything else I saw after. I was a REALLY picky bride so every little detail mattered to me--right down to the decor in their bathrooms! I am Muslim and had a traditional-ish Pakistani wedding. It was very important that the venue allow outside catering from one of my parent's pre-approved list of Zabiha-Halaal caterers. I know most venues accommodate South Asian clients, but a lot of times they have their preferred vendors and you are bullied into choosing a caterer you don't want. This is where Karen Dragel comes in. I cannot say enough amazing things about Karen. I literally cannot think of ONE single thing that I asked for that Karen refused. She is quite literally EVERY bride's dream come true!! Let me tell you, I met 50 other sales reps at every banquet facility in the state of Illinois--no one catered to my every whim and desire the way Karen did. She worked her magic and got me Halaal Italian food for my wedding!!! At least 3 other venue's looked at me funny when I asked if their caterers would be able to source Zabiha-Halaal meat because I wanted American/Italian food. When we came in for the tasting, the owner himself checked in on my entire family and when I did not like the soups I tried--he went to the kitchen himself and created us the most amazing cream of mushroom soup I have ever had! Everything we sampled was delicious and we were able to fine tune the spices to our liking for my wedding. The food was amazing the day of my wedding--just like our tasting! The service was on POINT. There were more than plenty of servers taking care of my guests. The hors d'ouvrés were SO yummy and everyone loved the sparkling juice tower (no liquor was served). I HIGHLY recommend Venuti's to anyone and everyone looking to host an event. read more
