The representative with whom I communicated was very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. He was able to tell me about different deals that were going on, and he did so in a very courteous manner. I also see that the team members work with one another for the sake of getting the customer the best deal. That's a good practice that all business teams should have! Particularly I found the associate Steven to be very efficacious, likable customer service agent. There were a lot of good deals going on, and it was great that customers were being shown various plans and devices by a lot of hardworking sales people. Very disappointed in the attitude of the person who sort of helped me. Charging to transfer information from one phone to another when paying a high price for a new phone is ridiculous. Charging to upgrade the phone when spending all that money PLUS being a customer for another three years is outrageous. Too many gimmicks all in Verizon's favor and nothing to make the customer feel welcomed, appreciated for their loyalty etc. Shame on Verizon. If I didn't go to the mountains for the summer and need the service I would go elsewhere. read more

I was not impressed to say the least, with the customer service my mother and I received while in your store on 11/4. I want to begin by saying I have been a customer of Verizon's since 1999, my mother since 2009. Most of my family members on both sides have chosen Verizon as their carrier. I have stayed with Verizon because of the customer service I have received from them, even though they are quite a bit more expensive than other carriers. My mother has never had a smart phone; she wanted to try it out to see if it worked for her, so we purchased a Verizon prepaid phone (against my advice) at Best Buy. Best Buy told us that they could not activate the phone, that we would have to go to a Verizon Authorized Retailer, so we went to the nearest, this store. We were helped by Matthew, who was very nice, and was not able to activate our phone, saying that it was not in their system. Further, that the phone was not set up properly by Best Buy. Okay, so we had to return to BB, not your problem. (BB was not able to set up the phone and we ended up getting our money back and were returning to Verizon to purchase a phone instead. At this time, my mother had no phone because they were unable to transfer her phone number back to her old phone because it was a super old flip phone). We returned to Verizon and were helped by Sean, explaining our woes. He brought us a prepaid phone and we agreed to purchase it. He returned and stated that Verizon had locked us out of our account because too many changes were made on the same day. We could not purchase this phone with her phone number attached. My mother was in tears. Sean suggested we call Verizon customer services and explain our situation (which we really could not explain) and that was the only thing we could do. Here is where my problem with this dealer and the policies with the Verizon Corp. begin: I started getting upset. I asked why we should have to call customer service when we ARE AT A AUTHORIZED DEALER IN FRONT OF WHO SHOULD BE A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. No answer; Sean was clear done with us and dead behind the eyes. He was uninterested as soon as he saw my mother was only spending $100 on a prepaid phone. So, we went to the counter in the back of the store and called customer service; we just wanted to be done with this situation. We were on hold for 15 minutes; Sean had disappeared and we had not seen him since he dialed the number for us. While on hold, i went to the front of the store and asked to speak with a manager; they said someone would be right with us. Finally, on the phone we got an answer and we tried to explain to customer service what had happened and asked that we could have permission to set this new phone up. They wanted the serial numbers or whatever they are called, so I had to return to the front of the store and again ask to speak with a manager, or Sean, or whomever could help us get this phone set up. They went to the back of the store and Sean came out the door finally. He got on the phone with customer service and said again that they refused to set the phone up because we had exceeded the allowances of changes to our account. Then, when he handed the phone back to my mother, customer service hung up on her. I asked again to speak with a manager, only to find that the manager had been standing right next to me the entire time; she turned to us finally, and yelled, "There is nothing we can do for you!" Against my better judgement, and just to end the situation, we purchased the phone and had to change my mother's phone number. I am considering changing my carrier and contacting all of my family members to do the same. I don't know if this was sexism, or ageism, or what, but not okay at all. I feel like we were treated like second-class citizens simply because we were not purchasing an expensive phone. Little did they know, if my mother liked having a smart phone, she would have returned to buy a more expensive phone, but at this point, I'm not sure if she will stay with Verizon much longer. The person that tried to help me knew absolutely nothing about what he was doing although he assured me several times he knew "a lot" about phones. I have gone to this Verizon location several times. Sometimes for a simple problem, but sometimes for "headaches". I stop by after church on Sunday's about 1 pm. The same young woman is there every time and she is EXCELLENT!! she is friendly, helps me with options, and answers my questions clearly. I have also watched her with other customers. She is the same with them. I now drive from Surprise to Sun City because I know that my problems will be solved when I shop here. Today she was there but a really nice gentleman helped me. Beware of Verizon manager at 98th Ave. And Bell ed. I went in on Thursday, March 7 to see why I was having trouble with wifi. Several people ahead of me said their phones had quit working. When the manager helped me she said I needed a new phone. She changed my plan from $45 a month with unlimited talk and text to $ 75 a month with No unlimited talk and text. I didn't know it at the time. I asked her not to change my plan, she said I had to when I got a new phone. Remember I didn't go in for a new phone. She said my Samsung Galaxy S5 was being phased out. I called the number on my bill later that day and they said my phone wasn't being phased out and she didn't have to change my plan. They couldn't undo what she had done. Save yourself a trip and check another Verizon store first. This store seems to have forgotten what customer service is about. I went in here yesterday to have the information from a defective iPhone 7s ( purchased from Verizon) switch to a replacement phone sent to me by Verizon. When I went in to have it done, they told me it would be 10.00 dollars. Why am I paying because you sold me something defective under warranty. I went to a different Verizon and no mention of a fee. I called corporate and the told me the manager didn't know the policy and since it was a direct store, there should not have been a fee. Terrible customer service for my 80-year old mother in Sun City. Bought a cell phone for my mother in Sun City. I let her pick whatever phone she wanted--she picked a Samsung Gusto (old-style flip phone). Now everytime she has a problem (largely because she does not understand the technology), she ends up calling me in frustration because she cannot get help from the staff at this verizon retailer. I figured she was exaggerating or that maybe the staff just blows her off because she is not spending more money in their store. But this time the problem was she bought a cable from the store so she could download her photos. Staff would not help her to show her how to do it; she could not make it work at home. She brought the cable back. Now she cannot get a refund for a CASH PURCHASE for some five weeks So I called the store to get the straight story. Glad I did. Mom is not exaggerating. Had a very frustrating "conversation" with Nick who admitted he waited on my mom. I found Nick to be overbearing and unhelpful; very big on talking over a customer; very short on listening skills or interest in understanding the customer's problem. After talking to Nick, I have decided to drop Mom from my Verizon account and get her a phone from another provider that gives better customer service in Sun City. read more

***BUYER BEWARE*** DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE! SCAMMERS! I just bought an iPhone 14 pro form this store today. I wanted to buy it outright and the sales person, Thomas, told me that I could pay for everything besides $10 and that I had to finance the $10. I asked many times and he stated that I had to finance the $10 to prevent fraud. I got home and called Verizon and this is not the case. I'm not sure that the salesperson makes extra commission or what the deal is. Also that store offered me $700 to trade in my iPhone 12 Pro but the actual Verizon store and Verizon online were giving me $800. After all of this I logged into my Verizon acct and saw that Thomas had enrolled me into a $17 / month device protection plan which wasn't even discussed. He didnt say anything about this. All that I was trying to do is to buy a phone outright. What a shady company! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! I filed a complaint with Verizon. o I visited the store yesterday to ask about using my 6S phone outside of the US. A very nice young black man looked up my account and said my phone already had that function. If I used it out of the states, I would be charged $10 a day for the use. I explained that my phone did not work when I was in Canada recently. He had no answer except that maybe because my phone was old. He then went on to tell me that Verizon was going to 5G in February of 2019 and my phone wouldn't work after that. I very specifically asked several times if he was telling me my phone in my hand would stop working early next year. He confirmed that 2 or 3 times and told me I should upgrade now to an 8 while there was a special offer $499 which may not be available later. I left thinking that he was lying and there was no way all IPhone 6s would just not work. My son went to another store later today and confirmed what your customer service person said was a total lie. Do you think because because people are senior citizens we are stupid? Do you take advantage of people who may not be as familiar with technology? I have lived in Sun City for 15 years and am a heavy user of all technology. You can be sure that I will be telling everyone I know not to go to your store. My son is also sending a complaint to Verizon referencing your store. read more

My 90 year old mother is on my plan as well as my 2 kids. I have a password on account so that any transactions go through me. My mom's 3G phone was becoming obsolete so a new phone was needed. I live in NC and she in AZ. My mom went to this store as it was the only store near her that had in stock 2 phones of the several I was considering for her. I felt she needed to touch and feel the device rather than order from a picture. Kira (sales rep) spoke to me that day and told me she needed the code off my account as she could show my mom phones that fit within my eligible promotion. Next thing I know, Kira had written a contract(14 day return policy), without my consent, charged my mom over $30 for transferring contacts, then told my mom her old phone was no good to her and kept her old phone. Kira lied to me about needing the password, lied to my mother about her old phone. Kira also lied to her that this new phone was similar operation as her old phone, and lied to me and mom later saying the phone needed to be turned in as a trade-in for the promotion, however we are aware it was not a requirement of other Verizon customers. WHAT GOOD IS A 14 DAY RETURN POLICY IF YOU KEEP AND DESTROY YOUR OLD PHONE? The phone was not only too difficult to use but malfunctioned (we had other technical savvy friends try it). Returned new phone within 14 days, and you bet, $50 restocking fee. We have paid over $80 to this store and NOW are worse off than when we started. No phone at all, not even the old one for our contacts. I spoke with Manager Robert Cena (store manager) and he was unsympathetic to any of the misleading Kira had done. Previous review from correct when they have decided they have extracted all the money they can, they are dead to you and you receive 0 service. read more

I recently went into this Verizon store to purchase a new iPhone. A day later I received an email informing me about my protection plan that I never purchased. The sales rep never talked about a protection plan, cost, etc. I felt as if she was very deceptive by sneaking that plan onto my account. I had to call Verizon to inform them that I didn't want that plan. Also I asked if I could purchase the same phone that my daughter purchased a couple of months ago (my daughter was with me) and we realized the following day I bought a different phone. I am not at all happy with this retailer and from now on will only purchase a phone from a corporate Verizon dealer not a retail dealer. read more

This store really needs a manager who will do some training with employees on customer service. Today I went in with my brand new i phone. I had two questions. I waited quite a while for assistance. Then a woman said to sit down and she would help me in a few minutes. I was the next person on the list but she went over to help other people who came in after me. When she finally condescended to wait on me I was greeted with eye rolls since I didn't know everything about my brand new phone. I wanted to renew my prepaid contract & discuss updating my phone. I ended up with a new phone - after over an hour - but, was totally displeased with the plans/services I got. I was told that my plan had been discontinued (even though, afterward, I got messages to the contrary on my old phone); I still had minutes on that plan - they were wiped out, so I was out money there. Then, I was told they could not transfer my contact list, after a futile effort; a hassle for me to enter it manually. I also was told that they could not transfer the number I've had for quite a while. This change has been a hassle & frustration. I still do not understand why they couldn't go into my account & just update the plan & equipment codes; instead I ended up with a new acc't., and had trouble setting up password, etc., even with the help of on-line tech support. To add insult to injury, I've been getting calls for the same person (unknown to me); making me wonder if there was adequate turn-around time on my new number. Last time I renewed (at a different location), there were difficulties, but not like this. Next time - new carrier. read more
