Well, the employees SEEMED friendly and helpful. I came in with an unlocked phone after having my Verizon smartphone stolen. The dude who helped me showed me how the phone would NOT work on the Verizon network, even though I bought it from a very trusted seller who said it would. I then just decided to buy a Verizon handset then and there, but balked when I was going to be charged a $30 fee to activate an already activated line. I went home and started the return process. But the seller insisted the phone would work and when I checked with Verizon online, they confirmed it would. SO the dude in this store was wrong and wasted my time. Oh, yes and also - I asked him to waive the $30 fee but he said he could not. I called Verizon customer service and they did it immediately. So there's that,too. read more

The service at this location is shameful. The "reps' operate in a "trial and error" mode in attempts at solutions. Moreover, some reps have a chip-on-the-shoulder attitude when you ask for one of the few reps who you know by experience is competant. The very few reps who were competent have all quit. I am baffled as to why Verizon Corporate office does not get involved in the issues plaguing this store. read more

This Verizon location has always been good to me. I have been going here for my cell phone needs ever since I've had Verizon as my service provider (at least 8 years or so), and the staff have always been friendly, courteous, and efficient. They have a good system of checking you in when you walk in and taking you in order of your arrival. It makes things fair and efficient. They always take the time to walk through phone setup with me and get everything all ready for me to use, so I walk out with a functioning phone. I went in on Sunday to upgrade to the new iPhone, fully expecting to have to order the phone and come back in a month to pick it up. But they had the phone in stock! The Apple stores don't even have them in stock. Tricia was the salesperson assigned to us and she is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I went back to the store today with my mom to upgrade her phone and Tricia saw us walk in, and was able to help us again. I made sure to tell the store manager how helpful she was. I definitely recommend this Verizon location. read more

Is there a worst waste of time than going to a wireless retail store? Everytime I have to go to the Verizon Wireless retail store because I have phone issues, I procrastinate until I cannot procrastinate any more and thern I talk myself into thinking it will not be that bad and I go. And every time I leave a Verizon Wireless store I feel like I have been at the DMW, but with less customer service. The manager at the store in Bethesda on Wisconsin was rude, ambivalent and clearly not trained in managing unhappy customers. How is that possible? That is all these folks do. I am not saying it is an easy job at all. It isn't. But do they go to work every day thinking they are going to be dealing with happy people who are dropping in to tell them how happy they are with Verizon service and their cell phones? They must be delusional. How is it these folks are not better equipped to be at least courteous and not act like they could give a rat's a** about if they help you or not. Ugh....The indifference and lack of interest in providing customer service is staggering. And to have a manager basically look at you and tell you you are SOL. Nice. How do companies survive in this economy with that attitude? I guess because idiots like me are too lazy to swithc. I have been a Verizon customer for so long and I have been happy with my cell service. If they could just figure out those stupid stores. read more

I know, don't hate me for giving what most would think is a typical "wait forever to try and get your phone fixed to no avail while dealing with rude staff" phone service store 4 stars. This place is, at least in my opinion, much to the contrary. Also, I haven't only been there once or twice. I can't count the times I've frequented this Verizon Wireless store on both of my hands. The manager even told me I was right when I asked if they had some turnover since I usually recognize most of the staff. Every time I visit this store the staff is extremely helpful and very kind. Even though they've heard sob stories like mine all day every day, they seem to empathize with my problems. Most times, even the times when I've been at fault, they've gone above and beyond to give me a new phone (well, of course it's a "furbie"-(refurbished new phone). One time when I had gotten a new phone number apart from the family plan my mother, father, sister, and boyfriend are on, and of course realized I had made a huge mistake months later, they put me on a loyalty plan apparently they don't even offer anymore. When I realized I still had insurance attached to that line that had a dummy phone attached to it, they kindly reimbursed me for the insurance I'd paid over the past three months. Also, when I had broken my phone on the family plan that had out used my Asurion insurance plan, they still gave me a "furbie". Again, I know phone problems can be frustrating but I assure you this store will handle them in the best possible way. read more

In the past few weeks I've been to Verizon stores in DC, Chicago and now Bethesda. The previous experiences (especially the L St. DC location!!) were less than desirable. Yesterday, I went to the Verizon in Bethesda and Eugene helped me. The wait was long (that's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5,) but Eugene was great! Make sure to ask for him. If I could make this negative or zero stars I would. We just need to replace my son's S4 phone with an S6. I am paying for the phone in full no contract. We first went to Montgomery Mall where the kiosk only had 1 employee working. She thought she might have had one in the back but she couldn't leave the desk since she was the only one there. So we had to go to Bethesda where we had to wait ANOTHER hour. So it us now 3 hours since we left the house to merely buy a phone. Verizon clearly doesn't give a hoot about my time. read more

Have 3 stars to share for two different experiences- First, I went into the store last week to switch my information from my old phone to my new one that I ordered in the mail. The young man that helped me whose name I completely forget was SO HELPFUL AND NICE! He gave great suggestions about products and made the switch seamless, even though we didn't end up spending any money. I returned to the store this week and he remembered me and said hello. I wish I could remember his name so he could get credit for this great customer service and product knowledge. When I returned to the store this week to buy a new phone for a different family member and transfer my information to the new phone, we were helped by a different man whose name I believe was Joe. The experience I had this week was the opposite of last week. Not only was Joe very callous when speaking to us about products, he barely showed any interest in the interaction as well as the other customers around us which honestly made us a little uncomfortable. He spoke in a condescending manor when we asked question that he apparently thought weren't very bright questions. When we asked which colors were in stock for the phone model we were buying, he acted as if it would be very inconvenient to go check and made us just pick a color without any options. When we finally paid for and turned the phone on, it appeared to be a faulty phone. This is not his fault at all, but he didn't even apologize on behalf of the company and store or really seem to be bothered by it at all. After he retrieved a new phone to replace the faulty one, we asked for a new screen protector and he completely brushed us off. He said it didn't matter. Maybe it didn't really matter, but it felt more like he didn't care enough to get a new one. This is the short list of ways he made our TWO HOUR time at the Verizon store unpleasant. I work in sales and I know that it is really just not that hard to be pleasant and make your customers feel comfortable especially when they are getting something as expensive as a new smartphone. This man could learn a thing or two from his coworker I mentioned above. read more

After 4 years with the same old sad iPhone, I realized that I really needed an upgrade. We walked in at about 6pm on a Saturday, and they were busy, as always. A friendly face greeted us at the door where we checked in, and within seconds Veronica approached us and spent HOURS helping me. Veronica helped me decide on the iPhone 6s plus, along with an adorable Kate Spade protection jacket. I also went with a screen protection film and the Verizon protection plan, just in case. Veronica walked me through my backup to the Cloud and initiation of my e-mail, personalized settings, synch with my Apple watch, clearing my old phone, and donation to their domestic violence phone program. She provided exemplary service! She is so incredibly sweet and kind, very knowledgable, and was sensitive to my personal/professional/fitness needs. I hope that she will always be there! NOTE TO VERIZON: Veronica deserves a raise!!!!!!! read more

When I asked a greeter (who was busy watching a video) why I hadn't been called, he said if I had a complaint I should talk to the manager. Avoid this location at all costs! Manager talked us into switching from iPhone to Samsung, phone stopped charging within weeks after purchase, and manager refused to help us. He said it was our problem. Customer service said we received a defective charger and was more helpful. This manager only seems interested in making a sale, and then has NO INTEREST whatsoever in helping with a follow-up problem, even when it is a manufacturer's issue. I will never give this location any business again. The Rockville Pike location is much better. read more

This past weekend after a long night of trying to flag down a cab that was willing to take me (because apparently I look like a leper), I managed to drop my iphone in the exact right way to cause the screen to shatter. Needless to say, I was eager to replace it. My contract with AT&T has been completed for a while and I decided to switch to Verizon. The nearest store found by their store locator was in Bethesda, although I later saw one in Cleveland park. Regardless, the Bethesda staff was extremely helpful. Jasmine was able to help me after a short wait and we were able to fly through the contract details. I'm not a heavy phone user so I got a minimalist plan for a low price. She also identified for me a government employee discount of which I knew nothing. The contacts on my phone were transferred and my online account was set up all in a matter of minutes. I was able to get in, get out, and make it in time for dinner with friends. Wonderful service. read more

I was SO lucky to work with Tommy on all of it - setup, screen protectors, cases, he did it all for me and answered all my silly questions. This place was friendly and customer service oriented! I just moved back to the U.S. and needed to open up a new phone line and purchase an iPhone and ultimately wound up at the Bethesda Verizon store. Before showing up at Verizon around 7pm, I had spent two hours in AT&T with a kind but overwhelmingly pushy sales associate who completely ignored my needs and threw around so many numbers things got confusing fast. I felt uncomfortable with the transaction so walked out without pulling the trigger and went to Verizon to compare. WOW was I surprised! I wound up seeing Christine. I knew exactly what I wanted and she listened and then said "ok brb" and within half an hour I was walking out of the store with a new iPhone. This girl was awesome; she's obviously super smart, personable, efficient and didn't try to unload any unnecessary stuff on me. 10/10 would recommend this store based off of my customer service experience with her AND based off of my comparative experience at AT&T. read more

I was helped by a fabulous person: Pierre Bobet! I know nothing about smart phones and have been trying to get a sense of what they can do from friends and family. Pierre took the time to explain the wonders of these miracle phones as well as give me a sense of what my new Verizon bill would look like. (I think it helped that I bought in my current bill.) I stayed in the store, looking at phone stuff, and realized he was giving a workshop on how to use iphone 5 and 6 in the back. Most of the participants were over 70 and seemed as clueless as me. (You don't know what you don't know.) This was a further revelation on both iphone capacities and how to operate those capacities. Thank you so much Pierre! read more

Idiocy. Needed to replace a phone and figured I could upgrade early because that's what it said on my online account. Then I go to the store and the idiots don't see that at all. So they start to help me with an insurance claim to replace my damaged phone. They quick faxed something "for me" even though I said that wasn't right and that the process needed to be done differently. Instead after the fax they said "You'll be sent a phone tomorrow," and practically pushed me out the door. I check my status online today and nothing went through at all. These people are worthless. If I wasn't stuck with a contract I'd switch tomorrow. read more

Rude and Wrong! I took my phone in because the touch screen broke and I had to activate the new phone I got in the mail. When I got there the manager or salesman (not sure which- but he had on a beige blazer) activated it, but he said none of my contacts could be saved from my old phone. I told him that the other store (the one in Rockville off Rockville pike near matchbox) said that they could do this. He snidely commented that I was wrong and he would "have to" show me why. While he was showing me on my new phone, I got a call from someone and he accidentally picked up the call. He did not hang up right away, so I went to click the end button for him, and he snatched MY phone away from ME and YELLED at me saying I need to "calm down" because he was "doing me a favor" explaining why i could not access my contacts and in reality he did not have to "waste his time" explaining this to me. The whole process (of him criticizing me) took about 20 minutes (because they had no line which was nice) but I didn't get any of my contacts and I got unnecessarily yelled at. The next day I went to the other Verizon store, and they took my phone into the back and after literally 1 minute my new phone had all my contacts on it. Moral of the story: go to the Verizon store near matchbox one in Rockville they are friendly and helpful there! read more

Had a phone emergency. My Iphone 5 locked after a mistake of mine after update.Could not make calls. Went back to where I purchased phone last year. Even though store busy with selling new Iphones.
