Folks, avoid this store. My daughter bought her first smartphone, an Iphone 6, and we discovered a defect on the screen the next day, so we went back to the store, and they refused to swap it out for a replacement. The manager, Ms. Ross, was rude, argumentative, and confrontational. We were so hurt by this experience, that we cancelled our Verizon account of 10 years, and moved over to Sprint. read more

Hello Yelp World, Normally I don't take the time to write review's regarding basic service providers. Reason being is I expect basic service from them and very rarely have they ever been exceptional. If in fact they, are it's normally the individual that is outstanding. Unfortunately, I am going to write an extremely negative review. I came in the other day to simply pay off and upgrade a phone. A simple undertaking and should have been no more than a few mins. I was greeted and put in a queue and when the gentleman approached me I thought great this will go smoothly. I was told that I needed to pay off the phone's balance. No biggie and I asked if I could use the trade in credit and that was not something they could do. Also no a biggie. I asked do I need to pay anything else out of pocket today or will the trade in be all I need. He stated yes that is all that was needed. I proceeded to pay out of pocket for the phone's balance.. mind you I have 4 lines with VZ at this point... then he proceeded to start the trade in and get the new phone. At this point, they ask me for another 30 dollars out of pocket. So at this point, they lied to me about no more being out of pocket and the charge was apparently unavoidable. I asked a manager to come over and explain why I was lied to and why this charge was being presented to me. She told me that in order to process the transaction I needed to pay another 30 dollars for something that I already paid off and had trade in value on. She refused to assist in canceling the charge and refused my service. I have never been treated so poorly. Needless to say, left the store and went to another service provider immediately. I switched my services over with great help from the kind folks at T-Mobile who were absolutely wonderful. And because the switch was so complex the manager gave me her number and asked me to text her with any questions. Oustanding service... fast forward to today.... another sad day for Verizon who after locking me out of my account took the remainder of the payment of over 1000.00 unauthorized after locking me out of the account. In legal terms committed fraud and theft in the same day. Then had the audacity to tell me over the phone that it was my fault because I didn't cancel my auto debt. Um... account is locked out. If my account is locked out and canceled then hello you just stole money from me. Of course I owe them the money, however, T-mobile is paying it off with a credit card issued to me. Which is well within the 30 days of the last bill notice. I am extremely disappointed with Verizon. They used to be the best service provider and treated people with respect. However not the case any longer. I would advise steering clear of any and all VZ services. Good luck! read more

This is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced with any Verizon store or customer service reps. I've been a customer for about 10 years and I'm dumb founded by this crap. I'm actually so annoyed I'm standing in the store writing this. The staff is discriminatory, all about a sale and has proven they'll flat out ignore you when you have a return. Clearly their thought is if you ignore a customer long enough they will just leave with their return. Given the several thousand dollars I've spent with Verizon over the years, I expect and should expect more. What ever happened to valuing customers? My favorite part was when trying to hand the bitch my return, she just looked at it like I was trying to give her a disease. By not grabbing the bag with merchandise to return does not mean I will leave and not make the return. Verizon - 2 reps helping lady & her friend when I got here 1st & checked in first - Mobile Phones Near Me - Folsom, California

I went in today to get my new pre-ordered Iphone activated and to also get my contacts transferred over. I was informed that they charge 20 dollars for a transferring contacts and that it was a corporate policy. Also was informed that I would need to call customer service in order to process the activation because this location was strictly a "sales location." Keep in mind that this was a Verizon corporate location. We already pay for the service and then we are told that we need to pay extra for customer service?!? No thanks. I would avoid this location at all costs. read more

Great support from knowledgeable staff. I was looking for an inexpensive phone to piggy-back on my smart phone account, so I started on the phone with my shopping situation. This store had the phone I wanted when all the other Verizon stores were sold out. Drove and parked easily, requested the sales guy who helped me on the phone, and although his wait list time was a bit long, it gave me time to play on the Google Pixel phones, and so it wasn't uncomfortable. The store is small, but packed with lots of choice phones, so that's cool. Highly recommend! read more

Went in just after the Holiday's to get my Mother's new iPhone set up. The wait was long, however that was expected. It was the week after Christmas! Was greeted, given a (followed through) wait time, was offered a bottle of water while we waited. After the 30 minute wait we were greeted by John, the location Manager. John was pleasant, courteous and took care of the problem I was having with my personal phone as well as set up and transferred all contacts for my Mother's new phone. I noticed someone else said that customer service is lacking in this store. I also waiting so long that i decided to walk out and return another day. Then when i did return the lady gave me wrong info about phones. I called Verizon customer care and they said that the info they gave me in the store was wrong and that I can use my iPhone on Verizon network. I tried it and the Verizon customer care person was right and the bubbly store employee was wrong! Almost spent money on a new phone for nothing. This location is a serious mess! read more

This specific store (FOLSOM IRON POINT) should not be a reflection of the company. I called the store first, to see if my phone issue could be resolved in the store location vs through phone service. I was assured, "sure, we have seen this and should be no problem." Trying to avoid this specific store from past multiple experiences, it was on my way home and decided to give one more try. Of course, once again, the information was inconsistent and not accurate. Between, inaccurate information, faulty service, in correct programming/connection of services, near newbie level of tech info it is best to avoid this store. Not worth the frustration. Time is a commodity and I wasted it on this store. read more

I've been a costumer since they opened in 2000. They have the best cell coverage and customer service over anyone else. I in today bc I had purchased a car charger about four months ago that actually melted into itself. It was a completely scary fluke. At any rate I explained to them what happened, they didn't ask my name, my cell number or for a receipt. I have to start by saying I know that Verizon as a whole is HUGE and part of my issues with them are as a whole corporation but the other part is my frustration with this location. We were promised the world to switch carriers to them and we were tired of getting dropped calls so we thought we would give it a try. All of the extras they used to lure us in we had to fight them on later down the line to receive!!! It was like pulling teeth! If I hadn't saved my paper where I wrote down exactly what was promised and who it was promised by we would have never gotten it! Our bill is higher than originally bated on and dealing with anyone in Verizon ( at this location or anywhere) is very frustrating. Once our 2 years is up we are gone. I would rather have a few dropped calls than deal with this company. They do have excellent coverage but it is at a high and mighty price! read more

4/6/16: Here with a simple question about my phone. The check-in guy said 5 minutes. It has been twenty. Two staff helping the same two customers as when I arrived. Five others behind me...nothing has changed since three months ago...changing datone to one star from previous two. -_-------------------- I have been here 3 times in the past two weeks for accessories or a phone. They never seem to have more than 2 staff actually dealing with customers plus a 3rd who just checks you in. Been here 15 minutes already and nobody new has been served yet. The store is nice but I can't imagine how they stay in business with not enough staff for the waiting customers. Once I was taken care of, the employee, Nathan, took good care of me. I would rate him a 5. The 2 rating is for the store, not him. His service still brought the rating up. read more

We're extremely disappointed. We called the store ahead of time to ensure that there would be someone to assist our 85-year-old mother in replacing her broken phone with a new phone we purchased through Verizon and had shipped to the store. When she got there, she was told that they don't do phone set up any longer and she had to do it herself online(it lasted over 3 hours). We obviously wouldn't have gone through the cumbersome effort of doing everything through Verizon if we had been informed of this when we specifically inquired about getting her assistance. We have been Verizon customers since the company's inception and spend thousands every year with the company. Frankly, we're disgusted and will start looking for phone alternatives! Surely someone knows how to treat elderly widows who need a new cell phone. read more

Bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 under contract and I was told, my monthly bill would be around 68$ but to my surprise first month bill was 110$. Talked with customer support and corrected the plan issue. Also, my car charger is still not working. No issues with Verizon network but be careful when you buy any phone in this location. read more

I was recently able to visit this Verizon location while passing some time with my brother and my 18 year old son who needed only a battery for his mobile phone . I have been a Verizon customer for several years. When we entered the store we were "greeted" by salesman # 1 with a clipboard who immediately asked for my name. I told him that we were just interested in a battery for my sons phone. He took my name and then told me a sales rep would be right with me. Soon salesman # 2 approached us and informed me he could show us the latest new phones. I again stated that we were just there for a battery. By then my son was holding out his phone so they could check the # on his battery. The salesman then proceeded to laugh out loud and said "dude,, you could take this to the antique road show". I explained that we realized that the phone was about 3 years old but that it suited my sons needs and my son agreed. By then salesman # 3 was laughing with salesman # 2. He finally went back to look for the battery while we browsed the latest and greatest phones. He returned and informed us that they didn't even carry the battery but he may be able to order it. I told him no thank you,, that we would look online when we got home. He noticed me touching the keys on the latest Verizon phone and began to explain the features,, including the one called Swype technology. This allows the user to glide a finger across the virtual keyboard to spell words, rather than tapping out each letter. After his explanation he looked to my son and told him,, "It's great for texting and driving!". That was it for me,, he had been insulting regarding our old phone and now was promoting something not only dangerous but downright illegal. We then decided to leave but did not escape salesman # 3's pitch to have my brother change from AT&T and "upgrade from that Iphone" he was using to something current and up to date from Verizon. I realize that businesses are really pushing their employees to sell but this experience was offensive and just plain irritating. I had been thinking of changing carriers,, now I am sure I will. read more

WOW !! I was so excited to go from my iPhone 4 to 5. I can't believe that I have been here waiting for an hour and a half. Stay away unless you have ALL DAY !! Everyone was nice but in this day and age really. Oh wait update the tech admitted that she forgot to download my iCloud before transferring. That is the only reason I came into the store in the first place ! I could have transferred myself online ? grrrrrr oh and the manager said 15 minutes and the bar has not moved. We went to Verizon on a busy Sunday. The Manager Holly helped us with my husbands cell which was no longer working due to water damage. There was no bringing it back to life. Holly gave us several options, some expensive, some not expensive. She did not rush us into a sale, she let us take our time to determine the best way to go for our plan...She seemed to really know the products and our plan. Today, for the first time ever with ANY carrier...I actually had a positive experience! I used to be a Verizon customer up until two years ago when I left over them because they were over-charging me on my contract and refused to sign me up for their deaf plan, which would have enabled me to not have to pay for 450 minutes that I would never use...but that's another story for another day. I left for another carrier and had a dismal experience with them so I came back to take advantage of Verizon's (seemingly new) deaf plan. I wasn't denied this time nor did I have to really show the paperwork I had brought to prove my deafness, so many stars there! (Take the paperwork anyway just in case if any of you out there need a deaf plan). But my positive experience was mostly thanks to Graylan. He's definitely one of the most pleasant employees I've ever encountered anywhere, not just at Verizon or at other carriers! He was very friendly, accommodating, and took his time to explain everything and double-check everything. He made the switching-back experience pretty much painless. The only pain involved was my fault - I hadn't been sure if we were going to stop by Verizon that day so I didn't transfer my photos and videos to my computer or Dropbox. Always do that yourself if you can, even though they can do that in-store too. It's so much easier and more pleasant for everybody that way! I'm still amazed - I went into Verizon today expecting a frustrating experience (on my end) and disinterested employees, and left wondering if I had imagined the entire hour and a half. Me and my family recently switched from AT&T to Verizon because of AT&T's lack of cell service. We encountered problem after problem following the advice of the employee's in regards to plan/phone options. The sales associate recommended my family be put on the EDGE network. After 2 hours of setting everything up, we leave thinking everything is perfect. The next week we get an email saying that we have been denied for the EDGE network. This was not only surprising but incredibly annoying and inconvenient. We then went back for another hour and a half to fix this problem. While fixing it, he created another problem with the phones being delivered. I waited for a month for my phone to arrive by mail but when the month was up, i still had no phone. Turns out it had been put on hold without my knowledge. I went into the store to figure out whats happening and the assistant manager said he didn't know and asked if i wanted to cancel the order or wait another month for the phone to be shipped...not delivered. I didn't want to, but I'm not going to go without a phone for a second month so i canceled my order. The customer service here isn't very good. The wait times are quite high, the sales associates aren't very helpful or knowledgable about their products and services. I really want to like Verizon but so far its been a very big issue that i don't have time for. read more

Verizon sucks! my husband and I were due for an upgrade on our phones. I picked out an iphone 5c on line and it was delivered to my home. My husband liked my phone and we ordered one for him online but he wanted to pick it up in the store. He came home with an iphone6, a wallet case and a glass screen cover for slightly more than I paid for my upgrade. Very angry and going to sprint. All customers should be treated equally. I had tried to go into this location 6 mos prior to upgrade my phone (I was out of contract for 2 yrs) but they wanted me to pay full price for a phone and when I said no the girl was very rude. No consistency. No where does the website say that the stores have different offers for upgrades. I cancelled my out of contract tablet and will never use Verizon again! read more

Careful what you purchase my step daughter and I were told the price of wireless speaker,wireless head phone etc. were included in the price of the new iPhones and the only catch was that I had to pay the taxes that day which I did. The explanation was due to some type of promotion they were having. So imagine how upset I was to receive a bill for over $300.00 for the so called promotional accessories. Did I mention that I have been a Verizon customer since 1999 and after several phone calls and hours of conversations the final response via text message from the manager "Hi .....this is xxxxxx from verizon. Sorry i didnt get back to you yesterday. I check with my manager and she verified that we can return the headphones, speaker and chargers just as long as they are still in the original packaging." Seriously who keeps the packaging for these types of items once you know they work? Again today I went into this location and had another wonderful experience. I walked in and was told by a young sandy blonde gentlemen (didn't catch his name) that someone would be w/ me in a moment. Not even a minute later I was approached by Tony. Did i mention he had a smile on? Love seeing people who are happy at their job. I had some inquiries about my online account and upcoming bill. He was able to answer all of questions and concerns. I also wanted to either exchange/return a pair of headphones. As I came back in from my car after getting my item and receipt there again I saw my favorite representative Lewis. We were able to chat about the headphones and in a short period of time I decided I wanted to keep them. Not only did this amazing employee set me up w/ my new phone a week ago but he was also willing to return an item he sold me. I would definitely recommend these gentlemen to any one w/ a cell phone. I plan on being a customer w/ Verizon for a lifetime and u should too! read more

Waste of time ~ I upgraded online and as part of the upgrade traded in my old phone. I thought it would be easier and quicker to just swing the old one by the store rather than mailing it back in the box they sent me. (Enter scoff here) I looked up the store online before going and was told that the store opened at 9 AM. I drove to Folsom and arrived at the store at 9 only to find out it didn't actually open until 10. So I ran errands and killed time until just after 10. I was greeted with "it'll be a 20-30 minute wait, ma'am." The last time we went into Verizon to return a traded in device the store was packed but the greeter just took care of it for us in less than 5 minutes. We didn't have to ask. They start by pulling up your account when you walk in the door. Should have been a no-brainer. I left and will mail it in. read more

I have been with Verizon for 6 ears. I have eight different lines on the plan. I pay around $800 a month. We have had problem's with a couple of phones not working. We used our insurance after only having the phone for 1 month. We had to pay $200 on our insurance plan. I guess the minute you walk out of the store your on your own. They treated my husband and I with no respect. We waited over a half an hour to even get service. The manager was even more rude. Don't do business there. They do not care about their product or customer service. read more
