Unfortunately I was duped. Even the most educated person can be made a fool. But salesmen spend years honing the craft of cheating people without outright lying. So I am told there is a great service I can get without any extra cost. I say I would almost never use it so I'd rather not. He says, "my mother uses it and she still uses a rotary phone..." I ask "will the price go up after a few months?"...He says, ..."No, it will incur no additional cost"..OK, cool...I get my bill, $20 extra for a system I've yet to use...($200 deactivation charge...or pay the $500 over the life of the contract)...spend 2 hours on the customer service line and am told "you signed the contract"...Talk to Salvatore Motta who says he'll talk to his manager and call back. Rudeness is standard I guess. Customer service via phone sent me to this store to get a new SIM card for my cellular modem. As soon as I walked-in everyone looked like I was putting them out. Chassie helped me. I don't know if she was on coke, speed or something else, but I actually had to ask her to be quite long enough for me to explain what I needed. This is a company - owned store with service that blows. It is patterned after the Apple Store with the associates who come out to help customers. But the associates at Verizon are not very well trained. They function with shuffling feet. Most of them seem to have one shoe lace untied. I went in 4 minutes after they opened, and i had to wait a minimum 20 minutes. Likely you will wait 45 minutes if you go in later in the day. They will try to sell you the portable internet access gizmos that you don't need. They will forget to put the features on your new phone you wanted. Prepare for a second trip to get it right. Oh, if you have unlimited data, prepare to have them try to talk you out of your current plan. You are better off driving to a franchise owned Verizon store or going to Wal-Mart or the Apple store. read more

We transferred our service from Verizon to AT&T. In that process, we were told by Verizon to wait until the 29th to cancel to avoid pro-ration. So we called on the 29th and they told us we were too late and have to pay for another month. Extremely unethical business practices. read more

Jen helped me upgrade from my iPhone 4S to my new iPhone 5. She made it painless and walked us through every detail, including the fact that Verizon charges a $30 upgrade fee, that we'd have to pay sales tax on the full value, and that we'd no longer have unlimited data on my phone ... boo, but she gave me the excellent suggestion to cut my usage by using my wireless network at home. Just happened today from 10am-10:20am May 4, 2016. So this is my second time coming in because the Galaxy S6 is acting up. My previous Galaxy was sent back because it did not charge properly. They sent a replacement 2 days later and the replacement now, after less than a month, will not take a charge at all anymore. At this point I don't want to have anything to do with Samsung/Galaxy phones anymore but they will not issue a refund. It is still less than a year from the original purchase and my business depends on me having access to my phone 24/7 but I have to wait 2 days for a replacement phone that will likely crap out again, or have to buy out my contract $300+ and purchase a new phone 800+. This is amazing. I have never had to deal with such crap warranty or terrible service. Manager, man up, it cost you nothing. I have been with Verizon for over 10 years and this is what I get for being a loyal customer. A phone that will not work, 2 days wait for one that will, and no ultimate resolution to my problem as the refurbished phone they will send to me will likely have the same issues. Well I guess it depends on a staff who serves you at the store but the girl I had couple of days ago was awful. Was trying to purchase 2 iPhone Xs Max and asking couple of things to get a promotion by adding a new line. She explained I have to add a new line to get the promotion and I was wondering I can close my existing line and add a new line with the same number that I just close. It was in the middle of asking what I wanted to know but she stopped me and kept repeating I have to add a new LINE. I tried to ask again and then she started acting rude. She spoke with a sigh, didn't listen to me and didn't look at me. I asked her with smiling "why are you so mad?" and she answered "because you don't understand it". Well I only asked twice and didn't even finish my question. And it is your job to make me understand and that's why you got paid for. I can ask the same question again and again if I'm not clear about it. Also I'm sure she didn't even get what my question is! That behavior made me upset too and I didn't want to deal with them anymore so just stepped out. I don't understand how Version train their employees like this. read more

I've been to this location several times over the years and there customer service is the worse. When you have questions about your bill they direct you to a phone if I wanted that I would have did it from home. Every time I request to see a supervisor they say he wouldn't been able to do anything different. For a company that makes millions I feel they should invest in customer service training. So....this store initially got 5 stars from me. Until today. When I went in to add a 4th line and transfer a phone over to my family plan. I made NO mention of changing my GB needs (I have the 6 GB plan). Low and behold when I got home and looked at my verizon bill, the associate in this store decided he'd go ahead and authorize a change to the GB within my plan--and charge me at the 20 GB usage rate!!!! ???? What the ???? Spent hours via online chat only to determine that I have to physically go BACK into the darn store to get it sorted out. Back to my 6 GB plan. That I never asked to be changed. This was my second coming to this location. The first was not very good. We signed in and waited for a very long time. Over 30 Mins. Finally got to see someone and the person was not very happy at all. We came in with a problem on one of the phones and he was not able to help. We ended up going to another Verizon store near UTC that was very helpful and got our problem solved. The second time was much worse. I was greeted with a person that doesn't really like to listen to my problem and issue that I needed help with. I told her I was behind schedule and would like to know if anything or nothing can be done about my short battery life on my IPhone. She started lecturing me about how old my phone is and I should get a new one. I told her I don't want a new phone just what can I do with this one. She looked at me and told me not to interrupt her while she was speaking. REALLY??? My family has been a Verizon customer for over 10 years!! All I want is a quick answer and here I am being scolded by a brat that doesn't know when to stop talking and start listening. I end up going to ISquad to have my phone's battery replace. I called customer service at 611 & another store on Sports Arena Blvd. and both gave me very great explanations. After really rude service at another Verizon. I went to this location. Isaac opened the door for me and my daughter and greeted us with a smile immediately asking how he could help us. He was very knowledgeable and had us in and out asking if there was anything else he could help us with. Testing out phones and making sure it was working for my new user who got a phone for safety. I went there yesterday to upgrade my phone and ended up getting the Droid 2 (happy with it). The salesman I dealt with (Darin is his name) was very helpful. He researched me and my wife's average minutes and made a good recommendation on the service package we should get. He even filled out the rebate paperwork for us. I've been here several times over the years to upgrade my phones. It's always taken a while to be served, but I typically get a great person. This time was no different. Christian was the person who took care of me and he did a great job. Answered all my questions, was able to get me set up and comfortable with my new iPhone and made sure I had everything I needed before I left. My cell services the last few weeks has been terrible. A lot of dropped calls and internet is very slow. Contacted Verizon. They stated they were having a issue with a cell carrier in Mexico using there tower which was causing interference with Verizon. Nothing is being done to fix it. Just finally went to the Kearny Mesa location for the first time. I'd always gone to the Mission Valley one because I remembered KM being in some little hidden corner. Anyhow, my cousin talked me into checking out KM again since she said its not as crowded as MV. Low and behold... they had moved to this huge prime spot right next to Starbucks and viewable from right off Clairemont Mesa Blvd. I was really impressed on entering the store. They have a really nice clean setup and the different stations in the center just make the store classy as a whole. We were helped right away and our whole entire visit (phone upgrade plus trying out two different phone cases) took a matter of 30-40 mins. Not bad. We were certainly taking our time with deciding on the phone case. The girl that helped us was nice, She did try to sell us on an accessory special they were having, but I had a corp discount which ended up being better. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'm probably going to be going back again later this week to upgrade my husband's phone too. I like that it wasn't too crowded and we were helped immediately. I do kind of miss the snacks that MV has laid out for customers tho (damn those donuts and chips!) read more

The guy that helped me is David L. S. He was really chill. I hate ROBOT MODE that most companies insist their employees follow... I don't write many reviews, but this team at Clairemont Mesa Blvd in San Diego is over the top. I've visited a few Verizon stores in the past, but none that got it right like these guys do. I owe them this effort to let everyone know. Verizon is a big company, so many people hold that against them but there is a reason why Verizon is #1, and it is partly because of employees like these. I'm staying in the area for the summer and decided to make some changes to my Verizon mobile account. I tried to do it on line with the website and the chat system.The people manning the chat lines make a good effort, but many don't seem to be well trained. They gave me wrong answers and kept cutting me off while I was still typing. I'm thinking that Verizon would be better off without the chat lines. On the other hand the team at Clairemont Mesa must have been trained and seem to be supervised by Disney-like people. There are great managers and employees at this store. They are properly staffed, have wonderful attitudes, and know what creates great guest service. If this is an indication of the way Verizon is trying to run their stores, the competition has no chance. I came in two days ago to follow through on my on-line experience. By the end of the day Chris had corrected the problems resulting from the chat session. And he did it with respect, knowledge, and a positive attitude. Today I went back to the store for a totally different reason; to change my phone plans. Guess what. I was met with the same wonderful attitudes and well-trained employees, although a totally different crew.. Jennifer and Jason were both excellent at their jobs.
