Every time I go to this Verizon I get mad about something! Nothing has changed in that regard. This time the salesperson couldn't show me phone color samples in person, just on his iPad. Could have done that myself at home! THEN, when I finally decided on purple, he said "We don't have purple in stock." It's ok, I saw one a woman had just bought and the purple looked like black! No samples of the gold iPhone 14 either OR any other colors! He said AFTER I buy the phone I can see what it looks like! Ha! I chose silver but it looks mostly white. Was this a joke? Ok, Apple doesn't know their colors. I read there was a new yellow phone out but he didn't even mention that and I would have chosen yellow. Cost $30 charge to transfer my data (which took forever). Used to be no charge. It also cost $35 to "upgrade" my phone. Seriously?! What a BS charge! Went home to wait for the transfer and when I got back, the greeter said they don't have my phone. Hahaha! What could I say?! "Ok, I guess I'll leave now even though I just spent $1400 here for a new phone and don't have it." She was confident there was no phone here in my name. Eventually she realized she checked the wrong list, perhaps a list for their mail deliveries? I wish I had bought my phone etc elsewhere. I went into this location with a phone in mind!(iphone 13) (Wasn't for me) but this employee was very eager to sell me a different phone(iPhone 14) because it was "free" so I asked how it's free he explained which I'm gonna give some points for it! But still I wasn't looking for that phone I explained why I was looking for this phone and why I didn't want the "free" one, still he wasn't listening to me so I gave in! I told him okay fine I'll get the free phone, he asked what color he told me what he "had" I told him red and he said I actually don't have it anymore when a few minutes ago that's what he said he had so I said okay I'll take it in blue and he's like okay it'll be bla bla dollars and I said okay he goes back to get the phone turns out he doesn't have it in store he tried telling me he can order one but I said no thanks, I said nicely this wasn't to helpful thanks anyways! Still ridiculous customer service for my THIRD time returning just to simply drop off a phone. This time they tried to turn me away because I was not an authorized user on the account. Explain to me how I managed to buy several phones, including the replacement to the one I am trying to return, without having the account owner with me? To make it even worse, the manager refused to come out and speak with me to settle the issue and had their employee try to make me feel like I was in the wrong and that they would make a "one time exception" for me. Umm considering you have never needed an "authorized user" in the past it sounds to me like you just make up whatever rules you feel like that day and I refuse to be treated like I am the one who is not following the directions, or lack there of. If you say you strive to be helpful to customers then you need new management because they do not know how hire helpful people and are condescending to their customers. Just prepare yourself if you have to come here, you will have to throw a bitch fit in front of the entire store in order to get someone to help you. The Verizon associates in this store deliberately set me up and my Son up with refurbished phones instead of informing us that we had "LONG STANDING VALUED CUSTOMER UPGRADES". This valued customer upgrade is not mailed out, but pops up on the Verizon clerks computer screen when they enter your phone number. We visited the store 3 xs before we purchased the refurbished phones for a total of $800. The long standing valued customer upgrade was a galaxy 21S for $700+ off the $1100 phone. He handed me a piece of paper with a Verizon 800 number to call. I asked him why I needed to call when I am already here. He said all his employees were new and no one working there could help me. I can see why this store has such a low rating. with Verizon for over 10 years and my last conversation with someone at Verizon SANTEE was the worst and made me drop them for another carrier all due to the horrible service at the SANTEE LOCATION. All I need is a receipt for a phone I paid off, looked online and was unable to locate. Called the help line. Was told that I had to walk on to get it. Ok no prob ... went to 3 stores all over a 2 hour wait for a receipt?! Ok fine no complaint there I understand we are all busy. The absolute rudest service you could ever imagine from a manager representing a company that wants long term commitments. If you absolutely need to use Verizon. Go to Best Buy. They have just as much Verizon knowledge and MUCH more pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable than the employees experienced at this Santee Verizon location. I was given inaccurate information multiple times, had to make multiple trips due to that misinformation and/or lack of training. The first associate was very pleasant but did offer inaccurate information based on our plan which caused additional trips but mistakes happen. So that was fine. When returned had to make an appointment as they were busy. First interaction with Tony. When returning for my appointment, both associates (including Tony) were extremely rude. They both can definitely use a lesson in customer service. With a leader like Tony you can't hold it against the associate/specialist. He is their example, trainer, mentor. I won't name the other employees as they can only execute what and how they've been trained. I had multiple interactions with Tony (Manager) and both were disrespectful, unhelpful, and not caring about the issues or experience of the client. read more

Our sales dood, Tony, was totally knowledgeable about the products and services available, unbiased in his recommendations and totally professional. He didn't waste our time, gave us a few options for our situation and made sure we got a damn good deal on two new Samsung Galaxy S10+ beauties (one black and one flamingo pink!). Went to this Verizon location yesterday and had amazing customer service from a gentleman in which I wish I got his name. He opened my account up right away, gave me advice to max out the best deals possible and was helpful, if only yesterday I could of continued the sales with him. Now I wish I would of waited till Monday when he worked again. I normally dont write bad reviews but that is not the case today. Truthfully the only reason why I decided to write this review is because I felt like my emotions hindered me from fully explaining to the manager what had happened. The frustration hormonal water works just made me embarrassed so I walked out before she could say anything. I am 34 weeks pregnant and ready to pop, thus getting out of the house or doing anything for myself is exhausting and draining. Today I went in to get a new phone for the 1st time in forever, a bit of a gift to myself. I walked up to the only available sales rep and told him I wanted to purchase a Samsung. My 1st what the heck moment was when he didn't even bother to walk me over to the Samsung line and explain the difference, I verbally had to ask for him to show me and explain.  Why do I feel like this was important, well 1st off its his job to sell and 2nd I was on deployment all of last year so I have basically been living under a rock for a year and have no idea what is even out. He then went on to explain that the Ultra is not in stock at the store, but the Note is. We went on to see the difference on a touch screen they provided to see what the delivery would look like. When I asked about the Note it then switched to none of the Samsungs are in stock. Thus I decided to go with the Ultra seeing as either way the phone would have to be ordered. When I asked how long the order time frame was he told me that the white and black ultras would take 2 business days where as the bronze would take up until June. So I decided to go with the white Ultra. During the check out and trade in process I Got absolutely 0 help from him. He just sat there telling me to scroll and look instead of actually breaking down things and explaining. For instance why I needed to change my already unlimited plan to another more expensive plan for the trade in, especially when I have been a loyal customer for 10 +years. Or how does Verizon decide what trade in amount you get per phone. I got only 400 dollars when my screen is in perfect condition and i just have 2 small chips on the back corner. It basically seemed like I am getting jipped into paying more, every time I blinked. When I would ask these questions he would just shrug his shoulders. I finally got irritated enough and said maybe I should switch providers and he basically told me to do so I  should of just stayed home and did this myself. Then when he would answer my questions it was like I was a bother to him with all my questions. He would tell me one thing then it would change. He was just rude like he didn't want to help me out, all which in the end is costing me because now I have to contact customer service and get things fixed like devices dollars added. That he didn't tell me I needed to click, or even show me where before the purchase was completed. He didn't even try to help me with getting a protective case, or even a screen cover. Nothing, I really got help with Nothing! No warning about the sales tax and upgrade fees up front. He told me it would be on my bill which was a lie, when I checked out they wanted it all upfront which is fine if i was warned and not just blind sided. At the end of all this he was just rude, rude through the entire process. I went in to the store to get myself a small gift and literally left crying out of frustration. I have worked in sales I know what customer service is. After all said, the phone will not even be shipped in 2 days either. So that was another lie "miss information" . The manager at the time seemed very sweet and understanding when I spoke to her, I just wish I could of fully explained and expressed the situation and not let my hormones take over. Verizon internet & cable Warning !!! If you've been watching the ads & thinking of making the switch don't waste your time . I just spent at least 3 hours trying to install a router via chat since they won't take a call, come to find out it's not compatible, or it's defective or who knows what and they can't send a tech out for "Pack and Play version"! Such BS Also cable is not available in this area and you need to schedule a call back through their FiOS Department which is 3 hours in another time zone no one bothers to tell you that so if you schedule an 11:00 call you're going to get an 8:00 a.m. call back how inconveniencing is that ! just to find out they can't give you Cable in your area so why are we getting advertisements then ??? Isn't Verizon supposed to be the big boys Tech gurus yet they can't provide, such a disappointment bottom line they can't keep up with Cox whatsoever those guys have no problem sending a Tech out to your house and handling cable and internet and a live person on the phone ! The staff are super unprofessional. They were rude and seemed as though they did not want to sell me any phones or upgrade my line. I waited outside the store for over an hour with a small child and they seemed to be not even working inside. Several employees not assisting customers. Overall I did not get any help here and it was super weird that the employees Jessica C was trying to charge me two separate fees to upgrade my line when only one of the fees showed on my quote. Went to another location and was helped out, got a promo and was NOT charge EITHER fee else where. Absolutely the best retail customer service I have experienced in a long time! Been goin to the Santee Verizon store over many years. We just upgraded our phones (iphone 12's) at the Del Mar fair and brought them in to finish the update. They completely knew what they were doing. They were professional, fast and personable. (Too many retail people are "professionally courteous " but have no heart...not these guys and gals.) Brought my son's phone in the next day (connectivity issues). We didn't have an appointment, yet within 15 mins we were being helped and 15 minutes later-phone fixed and we're headin out. Again, great service, they knew exactly what to do and....great AC! (East county gettin hot.) I've been to countless other Verizon stores and phone fix places, at best customer service not bad and no where near as knowledgeable. This location is very small. They do not have much product on the display floor to choose from. I'm honestly disappointed in the lack of customer service. This is the first time in 10+ years as a Verizon customer that I can honestly understand why people complain that service is going downhill. My husband and I came in on a Saturday. We were greeted right away (the only reason I'm kind enough to give 2 stars-I guess being slow worked to your advantage). We came in to change a phone on our plan. The woman helping us said it was activated and that we were good to go. No test call, nothing. The phone did not say Verizon nor LTE at the top. I thought it was weird but she's the expert. We left and of course the phone was still not working. So we came back and she wasn't even surprised. It was like she knew she didn't do it right the first time. She did it again and said okay, have a good day. Ummm NO. Why don't we stand here until you know it works. Who has time to go back and forth?! Don't bother coming to this location. It will make you want to change services!!! Verizon, please retrain staff. This could have been prevented. Also, it does not hurt to have staff put a smile on their faces. read more

i have an account with Verizon for I believe 18 years, which my son & daughter are on. On 7/25/22 my son & daughter went to check out what deals they had for a new phone. My daughter found they had a promo for a new iphone13. She asked about it, showed both her phone & my sons phone to the sales person & the sales person stated they both qualified. My sons phone is older (7+) & daughters was an x. The sales person, after my daughter questioning him several times, stated they both would get the same deal $800 credit for their trade ins if they upgraded their plan to unlimited. My son showed the sales person his phone & questioned him again because he does not have funds to pay the $800 for new phone. The sales rep stated "as long as your phone turns on it is not a problem that they both would get $800 credit for trade ins". So they got their new phones & had to back up their data on old phones but my son could not remember his Apple password so he made a request to reset it. It took 48 hours to get the text to reset password but he needed to back up & wipe his phone. He could not get it to work so was near alpine verizon store & they tried to turn off location services & wipe it but could not after 1 1/2 hours there. So he took trade in phone home & tried himself with no luck. He brought it to me & I was able to turn off loc services & wipe it. We were getting close to the 30 days to turn in trade in so I went to Santee Verizon store to turn in his phone. They told me that his Phone was only $350 value for trade in. I told him that is a problem because my son would not have gotten or agreed to new phone knowing it would cost him $450 as he did not have this kind of money. So I asked to speak to a Manager. I was given to Tony & he just restated the promo details that there were tiers of phone values depending on age of phone & my daughters was high tier but my sons was an older phone so it was lowest tier & was only a $350 trade in value. I told tony the manager that these specifics were not told to my son or daughter & we want the promise the sales person stated. Their sales person did a bait & switch on my son & they needed to make it right. He said I could call customer service & then connected me but they just regurgitated the same promo info which was not what the original sales person stated to my kids. They basically said there is nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the tony the managers boss & tony said he would talk to them (a General Manager) & went behind the employee area where I had no idea what he was saying or if he even made the call, but he came back & stated they are standing by their promo & only giving $350 for my sons trade in, which is $450 added cost to my son from the sales persons amount of $800 he promised for my sons trade in. Bottom line is that Verizon is a large corporation with lots of muscle & they are doing bait & switch on the consumers & there is not much anyone can do because we are the small consumer. These are bad business practices. I have two people who heard the same promise for the same trade in value & Verizon is just not making this right. This is very poor business practices. I am a very disappointed customer who now is out $450 due to bait & switch practices. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. Alma at the Santee verizon store traded in my husbands phone for a promotion. She then proceeded to tell my husband that she would send the trade in for him. He left the phone at the store with Alma and a few days later we received a trade in package in the mail to send the phone back. We brought that package to the store and asked Alma what we should do and she let us know that she already sent it out and we needed to do nothing but wait. On my husbands account it still says the trade in was never shipped. We now have 2 days before his account will be charged for the trade in never being received. My husband called Verizon customer service and spoke to a very nice lady there. The customer service lady conference called the Santee store and talked to Brad and Alma who immediately got defensive and told us that we need to contact UPS because that's who they gave it to. When really THEY should be contacting UPS since THEY are the ones that sent it out and lost it (or stole it, who knows). After letting my husband and the customer service verizon lady know that they weren't going to help, they pretended to hang up and then listened to the rest of the phone call. SHADY!
